The types of flavors that they have get you excited like "garlic jalapeño" but it's a let down with the flavor profile. Everything comes out fresh, I'll give them that but the flavors are just O.K. We even tried the fried rice étouffée, nothing that wowed us. The fried shrimp even though it was butterflied it had the shrimp poop in some of the pieces. Which shows inconsistency. The inside of the establishment was clean and open. This is a one and done for us.

The entire place feels clean, relaxed, and genuinely fun. Instead of picking through lukewarm trays under heat lamps, you order whatever you want and they bring it fresh straight to your table. The sushi is legitimately tasty and made-to-order. Don't sleep on the beef short ribs either--they've got a savory, slightly salty punch that hits just right with a side of rice. The drinks are solid, and the pricing hits that sweet spot: perfect for a casual, low-pressure date night where you both want to eat really well without any stiff, over-the-top pretense. Left completely full, had a great time, and already looking forward to going back

The lobster rolls were also a favorite at our table. I really liked the interior as well. The restaurant has a cool Japanese inspired design and architecture that gives it a much more interesting atmosphere than your typical sushi restaurant. Service was okay. the restaurant was surprisingly quiet for 7:30 on a Friday night, I felt it could have been a little more attentive. We also had a few extra items brought to the table that we hadn't ordered, although it wasn't a huge issue. Ordering is done by writing the quantity you want next to each menu item with a marker, which was pretty easy and straightforward. Overall, we had a good experience and there were definitely some dishes I enjoyed. However, it's pretty far from where I live, and I personally think there are better all you can eat sushi options closer to me. I wouldn't make the drive specifically for Blue Claw, but it's worth checking out if you're already in the area!

I ordered the fried catfish and a fried shrimp po'boy, and both hit the mark. The catfish was crisp, clean‑tasting, and well‑seasoned. The po'boy was the standout: soft, quality bread, plenty of shrimp, and a homemade pink‑tinted sauce that ties everything together. It's the kind of sauce you remember after the meal. The restaurant itself is clean, and the food comes out in a reasonable timeframe, even during busy lunch hours. You can tell this place is a weekday favorite -- people were constantly stopping in to grab lunch, and it's just as solid for a quick, tasty dinner. The space is a good size, but service could use some improvement... though honestly, that's kind of expected with older crawfish joints. The crawfish were solid, not the best I've had, but still good. The garlic butter sauce is unique with a strong tamarind presence. Personally, I'd love a little less tamarind and more Cajun seasoning. The crawfish tails were juicy (always a good sign they're properly soaked), and they use real garlic, which makes a difference. The shrimps were big and juicy, very delicious. Grilled oysters were fresh and plump but could've used more sauce. The standout for me was the razor clams! They were perfectly grilled with fried shallots and crushed peanuts toppings and thick fish sauce that complemented them really well. Also, their michelada was surprisingly really good. Overall, a solid, classic spot if you're craving Viet-Cajun.
