Rainbow Trout & Jumbo Crab with Dirty Rice
    Leah W.

Pappadeaux is a Houston staple and you honestly can't go wrong with it. On this visit I ordered the Rainbow Trout and Jumbo Crab for ($29.xx). I think this is one of the most bang for your buck meals that they have there. The portion size is huge and you're able to substitute the standard side if you like. I chose dirty rice for my side and unfortunately wasn't a fan. It was dried out and spicy. As for the main dish, the trout was cooked perfectly and had a slight crisp underneath the skin which I enjoyed. The browned butter sauce was good but could've had more flavor. I'd substitute for lemon butter next time. The crab and shrimp were also good. I honestly didn't remember this dish having hazelnuts on top but i'd definitely ask them to remove those next time. I also ordered an à la carte stuffed shrimp and it was delicious as always! Overall, good visit!

We came for the Watermelon Crush and the Watermelon Dream drinks. Both were so good. Aleah was our server and she was awesome explaining the difference. This location is always bustling! Aleah took good care of our table by the bar. I had to have my naked trout and green beans. So good! Til next time!

Pappadeux is always a winner! Been coming to this location since I was a little girl. We came in for Mother's Day and everything was fresh and hot, not to mention HUGE portions. They are a little pricey but for the amount of food you get truly a value. The server went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed everything. Also can't get enough of their bread and butter. Highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of being invited to not one but two events at the same place, one of my favorite places. First event, a valentine's celebration , our party was supposed to start at 3pm but they were late. The manager worked with us and got us a section reserved like a champ. They really worked their magic. We were seated at 430. At this seating, we ordered appetizers of bbq shrimp and a glass of wine. If you haven't tried this dish, try it before it goes away, it is a seasonal item for Mardi Gras. Our next event, a birthday dinner, was just one table away, at 530. They seated our large party on time and service was great. I was able to close out my tab and move over. We had two waiters assisting us. I ordered fried shrimp with baked potato and a bowl of gumbo to go. Everything was delicious.

This was my first time trying Pappadeaux and we came as a large group to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were given a private dining room and a few servers to serve us all. The servers were AMAZING and so patient with us. They recommended so many good things and were very kind. The service overall was excellent. I got the Hot Honey Gator Bites, Passion Fruit Lemon Drop & the Jumbo Shrimp Brochette. Will come again!

Their complimentary bread sucks! Super hard
    Eleanor R.

Only giving 4 stars because their complimentary bread is horrible. I'd expect better quality soft bread at a restaurant like this, not bread that you can literally knock someone out with. It was hard as a rock and not easy to cut into. Also I don't recommend the shrimp and crawfish fondue. Unless you love the flavor and aftertaste of crawfish. Didn't realize it would overpower the whole appetizer and had a unique, unappetizing flavor. However I did love and thoroughly enjoy the Crispy Salmon & Jumbo crab. And my husband loved his Texas Redfish. Also the service from our waiter Idhant was outstanding. The ambiance is nice and it's a big establishment. So overall, I do recommend.

I had the fried crawfish medium order for lunch, it came with french fries that were absolutely delicious and the crawfish was crunchy and full of flavor. It was really good. Highly recommend it. I only complain about Pappadeaux's is it's always so noisy and it wasn't even packed. It was hard to hear my friend talk . Plenty of parking.

I always enjoy my time at Pappadeaux. I went for my birthday and celebrated with my sister and the food was amazing as usual. Service was fast and friendly and we left full.

I always enjoy the experience at Pappadeaux! I have been here several times with my family. The food is top notch, the portions are very generous. My favorite plate is the Atlantic Salmon Alexander, I would love to have the secret for the cream sauce on the top ! the strawberry lemonade it's super fresh . The service is always outstanding It's normally plenty of parking, it's gets very busy during the weekends and special occasions as Mother's Day, Valentines' Day, etc , but I have always been able to find a spot. Enjoy !

    Garlic Bread

This was my first visit to this location. It's just like the others so no need to explain there. My server was a young man that was nice as he took our orders. Now when he asked if we wanted garlic bread, I was under the impression that he meant the regular bread that usually comes out to the table. Well that was not what he was referring to. So this was also my first time having their garlic bread and although I was a bit upset with the misunderstanding, it was really good. Especially with the melted cheese on it. He definitely put me on. I believe it was only $2-$3 during the lunch time that we were there. But now I might have to get this again. I also ordered their Mardi Gras Pasta as it was one of his favored recommendations over the Gumbo. And once again, this young man put me on. It was definitely delicious and blew my expectations. It came with a piece of bread but not with the cheese on it. I would surely go back to this location if I'm in the area. But I know when I go to any other locations, that I have to try these again.

The service was amazing. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient. I was hungry when I arrived and knew exactly what I wanted to eat. I asked if our bread could be brought out quickly and he delivered, professionally and happily. Not once did I feel that I was troubling him too much. Like when I ordered a virgin pina colada and it came out with whipped cream and a cherry on top, I asked him to take it back because I didn't want those things added to my drink. He happily and quickly obliged. We arrived early evening so as we were seated the restaurant wasn't full but in our section it was cozy sitting between other restaurant goers. As our meal came the restaurant started to become busy with a hum of people coming in for an early dinner. I just loved watching the waiters and waitresses move about so focused and precision in their step. Overall, I had an enjoyable time. The only disappointment that I had was how salty my fish and shrimp was. This is the second time I've eaten at pappadeaux's within a couple of months and both times, my food was too salty.

My girlfriend and I met here for lunch right when they opened. It was very nice. The food was fresh and hot, and delicious! I ordered from the lunch menu and got the Shrimp Combo. We did wait awhile for our food but the Manager, Elvin, was quick to apologize and offer us free desserts. It was still pricey but I'll be back.

It had been years since I'd visited, and I'm so glad I came back! Parking was easy, and we were greeted by a friendly hostess right away. Our server, Franklin, was outstanding--attentive, personable, and ready with great recommendations. The food was even better than I remembered! The Crispy Salmon was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, and the Redfish Pontchartrain was absolutely amazing. If you're craving fresh, flavorful seafood with exceptional service, this is the spot!

Feels good when an establishment takes pride in their customer's feedback and puts a plan into action. Honestly, part of me was hoping that last time was just a fluke or an off day. This time around, everything from the service to the food was great. We had a 12:30 Sunday reservation for two and opted to sit inside this time. We ordered the cast-iron cornbread, chargrilled oysters, and a cup of gumbo each to start. For entrées, I had the Gulf Fish, while my husband went with the crawfish Florentine. Everything came out beautifully timed, almost like a perfectly paced three-course meal, which obviously made the whole experience feel elevated and relaxed. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and on top of everything without being overbearing. I also tried the prickly pear aid (non-alcoholic), and it was super refreshing, definitely worth ordering if you like a little tartness to cleanse your palate. Overall, this visit felt like a completely different experience than last time. It delivered the elevated experience a place like Eunice promises and what I was used to originally. Unfortunately, the overall dining experience was disappointing due to both the service and the food quality. Our server was very slow throughout the evening. After ordering cocktails, it took approximately 20 minutes for them to arrive. We then ordered our meals... I had the burger and fries, while my girlfriend ordered the shrimp and grits. Both dishes were noticeably over salted. After finishing our meals, we waited an additional 15-20 minutes just to receive a dessert menu. Eventually, we decided not to wait any longer and went to Dessert Gallery down the street instead. While the atmosphere and appearance of the restaurant were excellent, the slow service and food issues negatively impacted the experience. Based on this visit, I would likely not return.

The place was like walking into the 50's, with the old school metal tables and ample linoleum. I LOVE Louisiana cooking, and it couldn't have been more authentic. The only problem I had with my shrimp gumbo is the bowl was too small (actually a filling portion) and loaded with succulent, tender shrimp. Yummmmm!
