Had visited on of these years ago and it was great- just like today. Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, fried okra.... All well-seasoned and made well. Also came with free rolls and butter. Make sure and ask for their sweet butter. Ordered the skillet cornbread but it was quite tough and not as tasty. Service was great. Attentive and brought refills before we needed to ask. Tonight was my first time here, and wow! The service was amazing, and the food was sooooo delicious! I got the brisket queso, and the chicken fried chicken... and it was so juicy! I was super impressed. The manager even came by and brought my beer, and asked how everything was going. My server was very kind, and attentive. I will 1000% be back! This exceeded my expectations. I was a little spooked out with the ratio of demographics in the establishment. But waiter was extremely nice and she made me felt welcome so I stayed for lunch. If you are looking for a down home cooking, this is the place. The food is really good and our server Tyler was very nice and knowledgeable. The service is quick. They serve you hot bread with butter that is really delicious. This place reminds me of black eyed peas restaurant long time ago. We tried the fried green tomatoes it is good with the avocado ranch and the chicken fried steak with jalapeño ranch, yummy. Even their dessert- blackberry cobbler is good. read more

I'm honestly surprised by all the low reviews here. This place was fantastic. We went on a Saturday for lunch when one of our group recommended it. Family of 8. The service was fast and attentive, very accommodating to our substitutions and requests. Kept the drinks coming. Everything everyone ordered received praise from whoever was eating it. The fried green tomatoes are so amazingly good. Best I've ever had. A bit too salty, but you can see the salt on top so it's easy to knock a bit off if preferred. I ordered chicken fried steak and am enjoying the leftovers right now. Still good the second time around! Subbed fried okra instead of the green beans and they were perfect. Lavender iced tea could have used a splash more lavender; maybe I should have asked. Even my 5 year old enjoyed everything on his plate (chicken tenders, mac&cheese, fries, fresh strawberries.) I will go back if I'm ever in the area again and have already scoped out other locations where we travel. read more

Everything was great!!! From food to our waitress. The environment was clean and the seating area was comfortable. It's relaxed and temperature is just right. The wait was not bad at all for a Sunday, it took three minutes to set our table up and got us seated. Our drinks were refilled and we had a nice portions of food, the country fried steak was a hit, but I only ate half. Their gravy is so good, and the mashed potatoes are perfect. I had baked apples for a side too, and that was yummy. We had the fried green tomato's and those were so so good. The mushrooms were a little salty for my taste. Overall, it was a great experience and we will be taking friend and our family back. The general manager was kind enough to greet us. As a business owner, I value our customers and this was just a confirmation to come back for their food and desserts!! Omg the desserts!!! We tried every one of them! OMG I was seated fine, after that the nightmare began. The person waiting on me and my wife couldn't speak up at all, walked our drinks and lemons over piece by piece (one at a time), I order an appetizer and specified I wanted it before the chicken fried steaks that I ordered, it came out in one hand right in front of the chicken fried steaks. Kids this is why it's important to listen when grown folks are talking... The fried okra was great, the rolls were burning hot, but good. Long story short, speak very clearly here. read more

Our DoorDash delivery was fine, it was the actual order and food that was incredibly disappointing. Turkey plate arrived with laughable, ridiculously toddler sized portions.....especially the mac n cheese. It was literally 2 tablespoons worth of food. The turkey stuffing was undercooked mushy and tasted stale. Our rolls (which we had to pay separately for 3 rolls) were raw dough in the middle and arrived with no butter (supposedly they usually offer some kind of honey butter or something?).........and, to add insult to injury, my chicken fried steak arrived dry, completely missing the cream gravy that I ordered! Dry chicken fried steak is just SAD to try to eat. Overall, a hugely disappointing and mostly inedible meal that was a waste of money.....and we are still hungry! Bleh! read more

We went this location on Wednesday evening and it was not business however we got good service. Our waiter was serving as busier as well so he had to finish cleaning the table before taking our order. The hostess who seated us took our drink order and by the time our drinks came our waiter took our order. The food arrived in a timely manner. It was fresh and freshly prepared. Very disappointing experience on Thursday afternoon. I don't know what was going on in that place but it was a circus. No one at the front when we came in, girl came over and seemed annoyed. No friendly greeting just sat us by the kitchen and walked away. Our waiter was also not happy and gave minimal service. Our food was subpar---The rice on my plate was an overcooked blob and my grilled shrimp plate came bare with just the rice and a dish of okra, no presentation garnish or dipping sauce. My guest's fried shrimp were inedible, they had no coating and had been fried to little hard shrimp jerky, her fries were old. It took forever for our food to arrive partially because our waiter took our appetizer order then disappeared, some other employee brought our app and just sat it down and walked off and there was no dipping sauce. Our waiter finally came back to take our order for entrees when we were already finished with the appetizer. We were not offered dessert but really we weren't in the mood to be there at this point so I guess it didn't matter. The place seemed in the weeds and out of sorts and I was not happy with the entire experience. I will go one more time because maybe this was an exception but I felt ripped off because I wanted to have a nice lunch with my granddaughter but it was horrible. I hope next time is better because if its not I'll not be eating at Cotton Patch again. We had to throw those disgusting shrimp and fries in the trash,BTW. read more

Wow...I was expecting this place to serve nothing but chicken fried chicken & fried food. I always drive by this place when I visit my parents so decided to drop by on a Saturday afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised to see salmon on the menu, which is great since I'm mostly a pescatarian. They also have flounder & tilapia. I was with my sister and we ordered the 2 for $23. Boy ol boy it came with a lot of food. For $23 we got flounder, salmon, fries, hush puppies, okra, rice, corn, apples and macaroni. We made 4 meals out of this. We also ordered a side of queso which was good. They have a small bar area with TVs so you can catch the game whilst eating. It was a pretty quiet, family friendly place. The service was exceptional and the guy went above and beyond. I'll definitely go back to get another round of salmon if I'm in town. Peace. read more

Based on the reviews on here, I came here with low expectations. Took my family here for lunch this past weekend and ended up really enjoying it. We were in the area going and were looking for a relatively cheap and simple lunch and this place delivered. The menu here consists of mostly southern comfort foods. We started with the chicken fried bacon as an appetizer which is exactly as advertised. It was good, but kind of on the heavy side. 1 bacon strip is enough for a person. For entrees, I ordered the chicken fried steak jr., my gf got a BLT and my daughter got chicken tenders. I was glad I got the jr size chicken fried steak because it was more than enough. I really enjoyed the breading and the gravy that came with it. I would pass on the Mac and cheese I got as a side, it reminded me a lot of Kraft Mac and cheese just not as good. My gf really liked her BLT and appreciated they used good thick slices of bacon. Service throughout the meal was decent. Overall we enjoyed our quick lunch and would consider coming here again if in the area. read more

I have learned whenever I order from this place to call the store to make sure you get the brown sugar butter for the rolls. This time I called spoke to the guy that was on Togo's today and I requested we get butter for our rolls and still didn't get any better. Normally when I call and request it they do it but not this time. Why pay extra money for rolls if you aren't getting any better at all waste of money in time. On Uber eats it doesn't give me the option or request extra butter. Wish they would make that an option but even if they did, they probably wouldn't have butter in the bag read more

First time visit at this restaurant.. an eye catching buy one get one free special!!... The Chicken Fried Steak was huge, thick and flavorful... The battered crust was thick and tasty... The black eyed peas were great with the dinner roll. The squash casserole was spot on.. and the fried okra and broccoli casserole were great as well. Food was bland Ambiance was ok My server was attentive, and courteous. He was the only thing that was exceptional. I give him 5 stars and the rest 3! The food took a long time and it wasn't too busy there. The waiter kept continuously letting us know updates which kept us feeling like he was not forgetting us but cooks need to improve on their efficiency. I used to love Cotton Patch & haven't been in a few years. I was extremely disappointed in the entire experience & probably won't return, at least not to this location. My husband & I walked into this location at 3:00. There were essentially no cars in the parking lot & ONE table that was already done eating when we came in. No one else in the restaurant besides staff. It took 10-15 minutes before a waitress even came for our drink order. That should've been our sign to leave and go somewhere else. Like I said, it's been a couple of years now since I've been to Cotton Patch, but they used to give out free cornbread muffins with/instead of rolls if you asked. That is no longer the case. Cornbread is now considered an appetizer that costs around $3.50. Just wanted to mention that as a buyer beware. When we finally decided what to order, we were told that's no longer served and they're getting new menus. So that was of course disappointing and didn't really make sense that it wouldn't be blacked out. Lastly, we waited about 30-40 minutes to receive our food (now the only people in the restaurant aside from those picking up to go orders) with no updates from our waitress. Our waters didn't get filled and she didn't apologize for the delay or at least let us know. When we finally received our food, it wasn't good & was definitely overpriced. I will say otherwise, our waitress was very friendly so it's nothing against her. We were just really disappointed in the overall experience in general & found it to be not at all worth the money. I think you're probably better off passing this restaurant right on by and enjoying your meal elsewhere. read more

Very poor service. It is crystal clear when you walk into that this place that it is not managed well. After sitting for 20 minutes I had to ask someone who our server was....we never got drinks or silver ware while tables around us were getting service. We placed our order and patiently waited for about 15 minutes and decided to walk out. We couldn't even get anyone's attention to even complain. We eat here quite a bit and their food is for the most part good. However I ordered their Holiday Platter and I'm extremely disappointed at their false advertising. It said the Thanksgiving Holiday Package feeds 10-12 people. It's more like 4. The portions are so small we are stuck! Buying a turkey now would be impossible. Don't rely on their descriptions. My husband and I just finished lunch here at the Cotton Patch. Our food was good. No issues with the food, but the service was bad. I almost never write reviews, and I've never written a bad one. The service by Sadaf was extremely poor. She did not appear to like or try very hard at her job. We ordered an appetizer and never received it. Throughout the course of our meal we were never given refills on our drinks. I sat and waited for 10-15 minutes waiting on her to check on us, but there we sat unattended. I stood up to see if i could see her and saw her sitting at the bar chatting with a male coworker and looking at a magazine. I used to waitress and I never had time to sit and look at a book/magazine. After she finally came to take our plates, she didn't make eye contact and spoke to us with as little as possible. I appreciate the Cotton Patch Cafe Business Manager reaching out and responding to my review. This was our second delivery from the Cotton Patch Cafe using Grubhub and I did not leave a review from the first order some time ago. However, that order's entree's were just as small as well, but I wanted to give them another try. Just to be clear, I want to express that the food is really good. It's better than most "home style" restaurant style food for types that offer a menu like this. The food is carefully packaged, presents well and was actually still quite hot considering that it was delivered. If you are willing to pay the price and order more, then do not hesitate. I'd also like to note that my review is not negative in anyway pertaining to the staff, restaurant itself or anything like that, only the size of the portions that we have received on two occasions, based on the prices charged, are what we are displeased with. With the manager reaching out and being courteous to my original review, I'm willing to give it another shot, but we will most likely being visiting the restaurant in person to dine.
