So I've been on a hunt for good southern fried chicken in Houston. As part of that process, we ended up here and, even though it's one of a chain, decided to try it because a friend recommended it. We're actually very happy we came. I liked the bone-in fried chicken (with all of the lab-grown chicken and meat nowadays, I want to SEE that bone in the pieces of my chicken). I asked the lady at the counter what sides she liked the best in the restaurant and she mentioned creamed corn and the mashed potatoes, so I ordered those. I've got to tell you that I really liked both as the mashed potatoes had a lot of seasoning and flavor, and the creamed corn was sweet and a tiny little bit spicy, both really quite delicious. His coleslaw had a fresh and not goopy-textured sauce, liked it. We were so happy with our main meals that we decided to try dessert items, consisting of a shared brownie and banana pudding. We didn't love the brownie but mutually enjoyed the banana pudding. Chicken fried steak looked great on menu, but was disappointing because it was unappetizing served cold with cold green beans and mashed potatoes! No one checked to see why I was not eating what I was served, even when we asked for to go boxes. My friend had a taco salad and chicken tortious soup that she said was very tasty. The waiter never came back to check how the food was and passed us many times without stopping to inquire why the whole steak was still on my plate. Well I'll start with saying the food was great. I have driven past this place several times and finally decided to try it. As they brought our food it gets called out like usual and my husband says "yes the catfish and shrimp right" as to confirm and the gentleman picks up the food with his gloved hand to confirm the food underneath!!! They offer beer, both draft and can/bottle, wine that you buy by the small bottle but they do give you a wine glass to pour into, and frozen margaritas, two flavors. The employees taking orders were friendly and helpful. I had a Modelo draft plus we ordered the trio which had onion rings, fried pickles and delicious wings. For dinner I chose the shrimp and fish which had a great flavor. Even the tartar sauce and red sauce were good. Amazing ambience from outside view and netting to inside. Has an all American country kitchen style vibe on steroids. Very professional and attentive employees at the front. I was driving back to Dallas and needed to stop for a quick lunch. I remembered seeing this restaurant in different areas of Houston, so I gave it a try. You walk in and are greeted by staff at the counter for ordering! I ordered the triple play appetizer and the fried catfish platter with a glass of water. I was given a buzzer to place on my table for servers to know where to deliver food. I walked to the drink station to fill my cup with water. The freshly cut lemon and lime slices to add to your drink was a nice surprise! I quickly found a booth and within 10 mins my food was delivered to the table piping hot. Everything was delicious. The ambiance of the restaurant is good for groups, families, quick lunch and so much more. There is a free soft serve ice cream area but since I was traveling I didn't try it but many did! We stopped by Mia's for dinner on our way back from Dallas. I've eaten at a couple of locations around town, but this was my first time eating at this location. I've never had a bad experience at Mia's and I'm happy to say that this experience was no different. I had the Green Goddess with Salmon Salad and it was phenomenal! It had the perfect amount of dressing and the avocado slices were excellent. The salad was relatively simple, but so tasty and refreshing! Amazingly, the bowl was super cold for the salad, but the salmon filet was hot with crispy edges which I love. The portion of salmon was very generous too. I had plenty of salad for lunch the following day. All of the staff that we interacted with were very friendly. The staff members who were busing tables were so nice! One of them offered to get us to go cups when they took away our plates which was so appreciated! Mia's Table is very consistent with the quality of their food and service.
