Smoked Seafood Smoked Gulf Fish Dip
Steve H.

We have been to all the other Goode Company restaurants, but the first time at Fish Camp. Like the others, Fish Camp didn't disappoint. Service was fantastic as was the food. Plenty of food on the San Luis Platter to split-hot fresh and full of flavor. Brussel Sprouts were some of the best I've ever had, the bacon jam really sets them off. Banana Pudding was excellent!

Crab, Corn & Poblano Bisque - Bowl

Everything here was a big surprise -- The crab claws hot , crab fingers cold , crab and corn bisque and crab claws cold in a jar were top discoveries tonight. Everything had a unique and unusual taste, depending on if it is served hot or cold!! (Keep your distance from charred broccolini - and spinach ---forget ever chewing either one! ) Just stick with the bisque with crab and corn and poblano bisque and sautéed claws--you will be impressed!! Any fish dish here is truly delish!! Part of the fun at Goode &Co Cantina or Fish Camp is the casual ambience and the exceptional waiters , who obviously love being here and serving picky people like us! We always love being here, especially because there is ample outdoor seating and fab food!! Everyone likes it here- -kids, dogs and any age patrons!! Everyone is happy and having fun. We will be back again-- and again!!

The service is always great. I really prefer sitting at the bar. The bartenders are always friendly and very knowledgeable. The food is great just like any Goode concept. This location has some of the best oysters from around the gulf.

Gulf Seafood Skewer

While in town visiting my parents, I wanted seafood and suggested trying this place since I enjoy the GoodeCo Cantina that's close to where I live. We were a bit surprised that during the happy hour that there wasn't really anyone there (should've been a sign). We were quickly seated in a booth and greeted by the server. We asked for the HH menu to which we were informed that was bar area only. As the prices are great for drinks, it's worth moving to sit there. Our server was very friendly and gave plenty of suggestions for drinks and food. I ordered the seafood skewer so I could try multiple items. We wanted oysters but it as they only had gulf oysters, it wasn't worth rising it with all of the news going on right now. The drinks were good but unfortunately, the food was not good and wasn't something I could finish. I wish I could say that one item from the sampler was good so that I could order that next time BUT I cant. I sadly wouldn't visit again and really wouldn't recommend it for anything other than drinks HH.

Stopped by after a gym session since it was nearby. Area is super cute. We ordered: Gulf red snapper with side of mesquite charred broccolini Trout with side of creamy corn Cripsy Brussels sprouts Blue crab, corn, and poblano bisque bowl Daily gulf appellation oysters (1/2 dozen) Surprised that everything was so good! Flavorful, not salty, not heavy, and speedy! Staff were nice too. Place is clean.

LOL Walked in the wrong door (for their Tex-Mex restaurant), so turned around and headed outside to the other door. Our waiter Pablo was very helpful and I have to say that, overall, we really liked our meal. We started out with the Campechana de Mariscos, reminiscent of a Mexican shrimp cocktail but thicker and not particularly spicy, and very flavorful. I really liked it and was almost sorry that we had decided to share. That Campechana Shrimp has the menu option to add extra shrimp and next time I would do that because I would have liked a few more in there. Honorable mention to their chips which were light and perfectly seasoned. We then decided to share the Gulf Shrimp Remoulade salad and I really liked it because the Remoulade dressing was good tasty, it had lots of shrimp and it was just really a nice bite with their house croutons, pickled onion and tomato. Fried Shrimp (8) platter was pretty good. Their house cocktail sauce was excellent, as was the dipping sauce for the small shrimp empanada on the plate. It came with a side and I ordered the broccolini in white barbecue sauce, but that had slightly too much smoke flavor for me and not enough of other flavors so next time I would probably try something else. I've had better coleslaws. The manager, Ian, came to our table before we were finished and answered questions I had about different things, including their desserts that are all made here. Very helpful and I appreciated his effort, and I should have told him how happy we were with Pablo. Sidenote that the staff was really nice and even the two bus employees were polite and offered to help me when they thought I needed it. I tasted Mr. Picky's Arnold Palmer and thought it was very good. We couldn't decide on dessert and so we decided to order three and share them: house pecan pie, chocolate cream pie, and Key-lime pie. While I liked the key lime and pecan, Mr. Picky's hugged the Chocolate Cream. I'd give this place a "4.5" rating and, yes, we will plan on a return visit.

Came here for some drinks & food, we ordered a few things to share and absolutely loved the sautéed crab fingers - the sauce was delicious and was seasoned well. We also ordered oysters - super fresh but had a limited variety. Last, we shared the simple house salad - dressing was light and overall was a good crisp salad. Would recommended and definitely come back for drinks & food!

Shrimp Remoulade Salad

Wow! This was a great meal. We started with the sautéed crab fingers and shrimp cocktail. The sauce on the crab finger I want to eat with a soup. The shrimp were big and fresh and I appreciate they serve it not only with cocktail, but extra horseradish on the side. I ordered a cup of gumbo and the Shrimp remoulade salad which I'm still thinking about. The fresh dill paired with the tomatoes and pickled onions with the shrimp and remoulade have my mouth watering just thinking about it. My husband got the tuna and it wasn't cooked as ordered but they quickly fixed it and he ate every bite! Our server, Chandler, was great and had good knowledge of the menu. The place is cute casual and comfy! The only disappointment, which if I could would make this review 4.5 stars, was the banana pudding. I am a purest when it comes to banana pudding and want vanilla pudding with banana, NOT banana flavored pudding. I took one bite and left the rest. Other than that, everything was amazing! Looking forward to going again!

Chorizo and eggs. Fell flat.

We came in for lunch and I should not have strayed from my green chili enchiladas. Do not get the chorizo and eggs here. It has too many potatoes and the taste fell short for me. Service very friendly.

We had the most amazing experience with Natasha today- she was incredible tactful and friendly, made lots of great recommendations. We started with the sautéed crab fingers (you need to get this and bring a spatula for that payday butter), gulf shrimp and crab linguine (perfectly charred), Brussels sprouts (light and refreshing, citrusy and punchy), and crab boil potatoes (my godddd you need these in your life- perfectly pillowy on the inside and crackly crisp on the outside... and the key lime. Natasha was so kind and brought our husky a bowl of water without us having to request one - and frequently checked in despite us being outside in the 50degree weather. The food was phenomenal, but Natasha put this stop over the top. We can't wait to come back and try some of the other dishes, and her last favorite side, the charred broccolini. Thank you, Goode Co Fish Camp for making this such a memorable experience.

Caesar salad (half potion - kitchen split it for us since we shared it)

We stumbled upon Goode Co Fish Camp while passing through the area, and it turned out to be a fantastic find. We arrived during happy hour, which is available at the bar & patio. We sat on the patio & decided to indulge in the happy hour menu. We ordered oysters, shrimp cocktail, & marinated blue crab fingers and mojo verde. We followed the appetizers by sharing a Caesar salad, a cup of Christmas Bay gumbo, and the Laguna Madre shrimp. My husband's favorite was the oysters. My favorite was the marinated blue crab fingers & mojo verde. Everything was expertly prepared and presented, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Bonus - patio is dog friendly. Our lab was provided a bowl of water.

I had never been to the previous address, but the interior design was so lovely we chose to sit at the new bar. Kady, the bartender (forgive me if I spelled it wrong) was such a doll the whole time waiting us. She kept the chips (touch of louisiana we enjoyed) next to her for refills and made the most twisted hurricane I've had. Definitely walked out clinging to my man lol. We tried the crawfish dip which came with two types of bread, though both went amazing with it. I ordered the lobster ravioli with a side of hush puppies and my old guy ordered the lamb chops, well done, with gumbo (we don't eat pork) and stuffed shrimp. Everything was so damn great tasting. I mean, damned good tasting. My only flaw was the roux could've been a little thinner, but that is absolutely it. Fabulous timeeee and I'm so recommending.

So they've moved. From Market Street to the space Next to one of my favorite cafes (PB)…read more Parking lot not full on an Easter Weekend. Despite a pretty empty restaurant we were told that only the bar and outside were available. And unlike many other places, they said this bar only allows 21 and older to dine in the bar area, which means only the outside for us. This being a cold (because of the wind) and cloudy morning. Sigh. Asked for a kids menu and was told it's only for 12 and under. Got the evil eye from the hostess when I said my kid qualifies. Then I offered to show them her ID and they backed off with smiles even. The complementary potato chips kind of tasted like Chips Oman. At least they weren't stale and it's a nice addition while you wait. The kiddo got the kids catfish which was just a pretty small piece of fish. Fries were good. Side fruit consisted of strawberries pineapple and red grapes. No drink included. Had to chase down the staff to get some tartar sauce. I wanted a Po Boy but was told they don't offer it on the weekends. Asked about beignets and was told it's only for dessert. Sigh. Decided to get the pork ribeye fricassee. The flavor was good but boy was it salty. Almost like they dropped a whole shaker of salt on it. Good thing there was some rice to counter the effect. Otherwise it would be inedible. So after our meal we had access to the desert menu and got a half order of beignets (4 pieces). They were ok. The dough on these is pretty thick though. Not sure if that's standard but I'd prefer light and fluffy. Soft opening was just the day before. So I think they're trying to find their stride. Water girl was on it though so kudos to her. Waiter was meh. Had to go in and fetch him a few times as they don't come outside much, especially when you're the only one out there. The bar area is small but the bartenders are nice. They have a sectioned off room in the back which might be good for a larger group. Place is kinda small overall though.

My food was all delicious for the most part, it was mainly the service which had a few miscues. This was kind of surprising since it was a Sunday evening and the restaurant was not all that busy with just a few other customers in our entire section the entire time. We ordered the lobster bisque and mussels as apps, shrimp rigatoni and cioppino as entrees and a tiramisu for our dessert. 1) I had to ask to have my drink refilled. 2) I ordered a soup as an appetizer, the bus boy takes the app plates away just prior to the kitchen staff delivering the main entree, which was also a soup, so basically I had to ask for another spoon. 3) Dessert took nearly 25 minutes to come out once it was ordered. Although the food was really good, these blunders sort of put a damper on my visit. On follow-up visits, I will be ordering other menu items to see if they can redeem themselves. The ambiance was nice, but it would have been a lot nicer if they would have seated us near the windows at the front of the restaurant, so we have had a view. Instead, we get the back area which was darker. I historically get seated at the worst areas/tables so this was no big surprise.

Unfortunately, they were out of the mojito -- the one I was most excited to try. We shared the 3 Shrimp Ceviche and the Grilled Beet Ceviche. The shrimp ceviche was wonderful -- bright and refreshing. We added a bit more lime for extra tang, though some may prefer it less tart. One small suggestion would be to cut the pieces slightly smaller so they stay on the chips more easily. The Grilled Beet Ceviche was unexpectedly dessert-like -- sweet, refreshing, and the perfect follow-up to the shrimp. Service was top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and happy to answer questions, while keeping drinks and chips refilled promptly. For a new restaurant, this place truly impressed. When I arrived, it was not busy at all, so I walked right in and met her at the bar. She had already ordered our drinks, which I appreciated. She got the Purple Voodoo. Even though it is no longer on the menu, they still made it for her, and she said it tasted the same. I ordered my usual Long Island iced tea, and listen, that thing was made to perfection. Not too sweet, not too dark, just the right balance. Whoever made it knew exactly what they were doing. The ambiance was really nice. It was calm with low lighting and good music playing in the background. It was not too loud, just enough to set the mood without interrupting conversation. It was not crowded, but there were a few people in there enjoying dinner and drinks. It made for a really laid back, after work, midweek dinner vibe. For food, she ordered the blackened catfish with red beans and rice, and I went with fried shrimp, a baked potato, and a Caesar salad. The food came out pretty quickly. Now let's talk about the food. The Caesar salad was amazing. It was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly put together. I asked for extra croutons and extra dressing, and while I did not need the extra dressing, I definitely needed those croutons. That salad alone could have been my whole meal with some grilled shrimp or salmon added. The baked potato was really good. It was large, filling, and loaded with butter and cheese. My only critique is that the cheese was not melted. It was more like layered on top in ribbons. If they had warmed it just a bit to melt the cheese, it would have taken it up another level visually and in texture. Now the shrimp. It looked good, but it did not deliver. The breading did not do it for me, and it tasted pretty bland, like it was missing seasoning. Especially compared to how well seasoned and perfectly blackened my friend's catfish looked, the shrimp just did not measure up. That was definitely the miss of the meal for me. I did not taste the catfish, but it looked incredible. It was beautifully plated and a generous portion. My friend ate more than half and took the rest home, which says a lot. Service was exceptional. Attentive, friendly, and smooth from start to finish. Overall, I would give it an 8.5 out of 10. The drinks, service, ambiance, and that Caesar salad carried the experience, but I would skip the shrimp next time.

We sat at the bar, always easier than waiting for a table and the busy service staff in the dining area. Our server at the bar greeted us and took a basic drink order to start. After he brought it, we looked at the menu and decided on some alcoholic drinks and an appetizer. But it took a bit to get our server's attention, he was buy wiping down the other end of the bar area. We finally ordered and it didn't take long to come out. The calamari was good and they add in small bits of fried octopus which was tasty and tender. Our lunch soon came out, I had the grilled oyster appetizer and a house salad with what he said was an Italian creamy vinaigrette. For me, the oysters were way over seasoned, perhaps salt and spices and were a bit over done, like they left them under the broiler too long. I was glad there were only 6 since they weren't really good. My salad came loaded with stuff, should have asked but I figured a house salad would be lettuce and maybe some other field greens, tomato, a cucumber and dressing. But this was loaded with bacon (which I don't eat at all) cheese, onions and huge croutons. I scraped all that stuff of to the salad part and took one bite and found the dressing so sweet as if it had a ton of sugar. I let our server know and asked for a salad without all the stuff on top and jus oil and vinegar. My wife had the fried shrimp platter which was quite good but OMG, there must have been a pound of French fries on the plate. She couldn't finish all the shrimp so I added it to my salad! Overall, we both agreed that maybe it's because we don't eat out a lot and do most of our cooking at home, but the food was in general over seasoned, even too salty and my wife almost always adds salt to what she serves herself at home. Restaurants have all had to increase prices since the pandemic, our lunch ended up being just over $100 before tip, guess we won't be dining out too soon.

The owner who answered the phone told me that actually the employees of one of the companies in the area reserved like the whole cow. I think he said 64 lbs or something like that. Savages. But he did say they could save a piece for us if I told him when I wanted to come in. I asked him for a good time to come. He said usually they're done cooking it by 12:30 pm and then it needs time to cool down. So he suggested mid-afternoon like around 2 pm. Ok. Well what the heck. A late lunch it is then. I've always been a whore for a good cut of meat. When we got there I told the host/waiter that we had a reservation and he just replied ok and didn't bother asking our name or checking us off a list or anything. Understandable I suppose since the place was empty. When we got the menus my first observation was that a number of the prices were higher by several dollars than as listed on their website, including the prime rib. The waiter replied it's just a few bucks, and then noted it's actually been like that for a few months. When I talked to the owner later he said they're waiting for the lady who handles their website to make the update. I've posted pics of their current in store menu so you can know the current prices. I think the waiter was new. Because he didn't ask how we wanted our prime rib cooked (I had to ask him later if we have a choice). Also when I asked for more horseradish (it doesn't come with the prime rib automatically) he took my plastic thimble looking cup and just refilled it, which seemed a bit unsanitary and odd. Also I had to ask for ketchup for the onion rings. When I was signing the bill he just hovered and immediately took it. It just felt weird. I dunno. Maybe his shift was ending or something. I know this sounds weird to comment on but the water tasted off. It's the first time I've ever said that. But it just tasted weird. I couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe like it already had some lemon in it? Yet there was a lemon slice on the rim of the glass. So I'm not sure. Anyway onto the prime rib. I thought it was ok. My kid absolutely loves prime rib and that's the real reason we came. But she just didn't like it here. However it is one of their most popular dishes and the way they sell out obviously folks in the area are ga ga for it. So definitely come give it a try for yourself. It comes 2 sides but not a baked potato which is $5 extra. I love baked potatoes but the extra cost made me not want to get it. The waiter said the mashed potatoes do not come with gravy but actually the sauce that comes with the prime rib is pretty thick and could easily be used for this. I thought the cream spinach was good as well as the fries and onion rings. Note the QR codes on the bill didn't work to pay. I'm not sure why. I think the waiter said something was wrong with their computers. When we asked for a to go box the lid on my gravy container didn't securely close. The waiter said that actually all of the containers have that problem. Yikes. Well just be careful you don't spill it in your car. I guess the waiter told the owner my kid didn't like the prime rib and when we were boxing it up the owner came to our table and was apologetic and super nice about it and offered to comp her plate. Now that's old school class. I've been to some of these newer places where they couldn't give a crap. But the owner here actually cares that people have a good time. So kudos to him. Their menu is extensive. And they have something for everyone. They also have a kids menu with reasonable prices. The monte cristo and pork knuckle were catching my eye. Maybe another day.
