Very tasty! Not quite fast food, but not a full service restaurant either. Not what we expected when we walked in, but my group of 12 was very satisfied with the food and service.

Blackened shrimp

Food is always great, family owned restaurant. They make the food fresh. Have been coming for years. I wish they had better photos of the food they serve because the photos don't give the food justice. Place is great, definitely recommen

Their employees are rude & so unpleasant to talk to. Walked in at 9 something, before 9:10pm when I am currently writing this, a group of 6 of us walk in, try to order and they tell us to-go only...... attitude immediately, assuming a manager comes to counter and tells us "yeah we close in less than 25 minutes" Our group decided to just leave, it was very unwelcoming and uncomfortable to walk in and try to order. We walk out, decided where we are going to go eat for dinner and the assuming "manager" yanked the "open" sign, where it hit the window just to turn it off before 9:10pm. Very sad for this business, they lost money, & customers. My second time trying them out, and I'm done. You can find better service and seafood around. Picture and time stamp

I tried The Catch for the first time today. I've been to Conroe many times and finally decided to stop by with hopes of satisfying my fried shrimp craving. The online ordering was down so I called my order in and spoke to Eleana. Eleana was very patient and accommodating as I told her my order. I picked up my order about 15 minutes later. When I entered the restaurant the food was ready, this is always a plus I was thinking about ordering beingnets but I had forgotten to include the beignet when I phoned in my order. It took a few minutes for them to prepare them to go. Eleana was very friendly in person and made sure to include enough condiments since this was my first time trying the food from The Catch. When I got home to eat, things didn't go so smoothly. I had 3 orders for 3 people including myself. Off the house favorite menu I order the Grilled Jumbo Shrimp (Served with 2 Side Items, Garlic Bread and 2 Hush Puppies), Catch Fried Fish (2) & Jumbo Shrimp (4), and the medium Jumbo Shrimp Served with Catch Fries and 2 Hush Puppies. My home was 5 minutes away so I was able to get home quickly enough to eat the food hot. My girlfriend's catfish and shrimp wasn't good. The shrimp was going bad and made her stomach start to hurt. My fries was under cooked, but my shrimp was okay. The Grilled Shrimp combo was okay. I decided to return the Catfish and Shrimp combo, because it wasn't edible. The lady at the drive thru assured me it was from a batch from today. However it had a spoiled scent to it and tasted like shrimp that's going bad. The lady refunded my purchase. The beingnets was good. Mine was a little under baked however. Perhaps today was an off day, I was looking forward to enjoying an awesome meal, but The Jumbo Shrimp was the only thing that was edible out of my meal. The fries was trash, it tasted stale, it was not appetizing at all. The hush puppies were dry and tasted stale. This was the consensus among all 3 of us so it's just not my taste buds. For the price of the food I doubt I will be be back after this experience. I hope it was just an off day, however I wasn't satisfied and I was still hungry after eating because I was only able to eat the shrimp only from my entree that in life's fries and hush puppies as well.

I really enjoyed my meal! The presentation was iffy on the étouffée but it was very very good. I'd order this plate again. It was The French Quarter

Great food, great service and easy ordering! Originally tried this place at their Jones Rd location, but I saw they have a location in Conroe which was perfect since I was in the area. I had a taste for gumbo, ans they came through. I placed an order over the phone and I was able to go through the drive thru to pick it up - HOW convenient! With all the craziness surrounding the C19 stuff this year, there are A LOOT of surprises from certain businesses and a lot of inconsistencies. I'm glad The Catch did not disappoint. I also ordered their 8 pc fried shrimp platter which came with a heaping serving of cajun seasoned French fries - deelish. Everything Tasted fresh and delicious. I will definitely be back when I'm in the Conroe area - lots of hidden gems.

This place was pretty good to go get some good ole Cajun food! I'm not sure if this place is a chain restaurant or not, but the place was very clean and nice. Since I'd never gone and we were craving Cajun food, we decided to drive there and try it out. I asked why was recommended, so I ordered the white fish, buttered up served with dirty rice and hush puppies. I was quite surprised when the platter came out with the amount of food and how relatively quick it came out! The fish was nice and crispy on the outside, yet tender and moist on the inside. The hush puppies were crispy and good too. The dirty rice taste like it was home made. My friend has the grilled catfish with Cajun shrimp, fries and hush puppies. The fish was moist and full of flavour. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Even after getting our order she checked on us to see how everything was. Price is super inexpensive for the amount of food you get and amazing taste! This is definitely a place to get your southern/Cajun food at if you're in the area.

This restaurant is located by the lake so we decided to sit outside to enjoy the views. Our server Collin was pretty nice and was on top of everything. Checked in on us a few times & made sure our drinks were refilled. To start, I ordered their gumbo. For our mains I got 3 pounds of crawfish with sausage & it comes with 2 potatoes & 1 corn. My BF ordered their shrimp Po-boy with French fries. & for dessert I got some beignets. I also ordered the Cajun pasta with shrimp to go. Now, I'm not gonna lie I was a little disappointed that I was overcharged for my crawfish. So they had the happy hour which you can get 2 pounds for 14 bucks. However I was charged 20.99 for 2 pounds on top of that another 7.99 for an extra pound. Okay, now I know I'm not tripping but the math ain't mathing. I didn't look at my receipt until I got home, but I'm not going to be upset over a few bucks. * Seafood Gumbo- kind of expensive for a cup of gumbo since it was 9.69 however it didn't taste bad. The sauce was on the thicker side and it wasn't salty, it had the right amount of seasoning. I would order it again. 3.5/5 * Shrimp Po-boy with fries- loved the batter and the shrimp was fried to perfection. Sauce was good too. Fries were just okay. 3.3/5 * 3 pounds of crawfish with sausage, potatoes and corn- whoever is boiling in the back knows what they're doing. The crawfish was buttery, spice level wasn't too spicy but had good amount of heat. The spicy mayo dipping sauce that was provided was delicious. Sausage was above standard. Corn was cooked nicely but the potatoes could've been boiled for another minute or two. The only criticism I have is that they need to purge their crawfish a little better. 4/5 * Cajun Pasta with shrimp- the pasta was creamy and shrimp was cooked nicely. However for an extra 5 bucks to substitute for shrimp they could've given at least 6-8 shrimps. The 4 I received was on the skimpy side. 3.4/5 * Beignets- came out piping hot. It was doughy, pillowy and had good texture. It also wasn't oily which is good. I just wish they had some sort of dipping sauce for the beignets but I ain't mad at the whip cream though. 4/5 Overall, I'll definitely come back. The inside looks nice with a beach type vibes. The patio views next to the lake was also good. Collin was a solid server. They also have a full bar as well. I'll have to order some of their cocktails next time.

When I arrived, it was not busy at all, so I walked right in and met her at the bar. She had already ordered our drinks, which I appreciated. She got the Purple Voodoo. Even though it is no longer on the menu, they still made it for her, and she said it tasted the same. I ordered my usual Long Island iced tea, and listen, that thing was made to perfection. Not too sweet, not too dark, just the right balance. Whoever made it knew exactly what they were doing. The ambiance was really nice. It was calm with low lighting and good music playing in the background. It was not too loud, just enough to set the mood without interrupting conversation. It was not crowded, but there were a few people in there enjoying dinner and drinks. It made for a really laid back, after work, midweek dinner vibe. For food, she ordered the blackened catfish with red beans and rice, and I went with fried shrimp, a baked potato, and a Caesar salad. The food came out pretty quickly. Now let's talk about the food. The Caesar salad was amazing. It was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly put together. I asked for extra croutons and extra dressing, and while I did not need the extra dressing, I definitely needed those croutons. That salad alone could have been my whole meal with some grilled shrimp or salmon added. The baked potato was really good. It was large, filling, and loaded with butter and cheese. My only critique is that the cheese was not melted. It was more like layered on top in ribbons. If they had warmed it just a bit to melt the cheese, it would have taken it up another level visually and in texture. Now the shrimp. It looked good, but it did not deliver. The breading did not do it for me, and it tasted pretty bland, like it was missing seasoning. Especially compared to how well seasoned and perfectly blackened my friend's catfish looked, the shrimp just did not measure up. That was definitely the miss of the meal for me. I did not taste the catfish, but it looked incredible. It was beautifully plated and a generous portion. My friend ate more than half and took the rest home, which says a lot. Service was exceptional. Attentive, friendly, and smooth from start to finish. Overall, I would give it an 8.5 out of 10. The drinks, service, ambiance, and that Caesar salad carried the experience, but I would skip the shrimp next time.

Been awhile since we ate here but we were hungry after a morning doing some medical tests over at…read morethe hospital. We sat at the bar, always easier than waiting for a table and the busy service staff in the dining area. Our server at the bar greeted us and took a basic drink order to start. After he brought it, we looked at the menu and decided on some alcoholic drinks and an appetizer. But it took a bit to get our server's attention, he was buy wiping down the other end of the bar area. We finally ordered and it didn't take long to come out. The calamari was good and they add in small bits of fried octopus which was tasty and tender. Our lunch soon came out, I had the grilled oyster appetizer and a house salad with what he said was an Italian creamy vinaigrette. For me, the oysters were way over seasoned, perhaps salt and spices and were a bit over done, like they left them under the broiler too long. I was glad there were only 6 since they weren't really good. My salad came loaded with stuff, should have asked but I figured a house salad would be lettuce and maybe some other field greens, tomato, a cucumber and dressing. But this was loaded with bacon (which I don't eat at all) cheese, onions and huge croutons. I scraped all that stuff of to the salad part and took one bite and found the dressing so sweet as if it had a ton of sugar. I let our server know and asked for a salad without all the stuff on top and jus oil and vinegar. My wife had the fried shrimp platter which was quite good but OMG, there must have been a pound of French fries on the plate. She couldn't finish all the shrimp so I added it to my salad! Overall, we both agreed that maybe it's because we don't eat out a lot and do most of our cooking at home, but the food was in general over seasoned, even too salty and my wife almost always adds salt to what she serves herself at home. Restaurants have all had to increase prices since the pandemic, our lunch ended up being just over $100 before tip, guess we won't be dining out too soon.

At some point, we lost count on the songs, as one blended into another and each sounded just like the one before it. Hey, it was Thursday and he was a local putting himself out there for us to listen to. It's nice to have live entertainment during dinner and the background music was just background enough. Our seats were near the bar at the high top tables that gave a commanding view of the stage and bar area. The place was crowded for a Thursday night, filled with regulars enjoying the food and ambiance this century old building exudes in spades. Much like the breakfast menu we enjoyed a few weeks ago, our meals were almost identical. We both enjoyed the Reuben sandwich for our dinner. I personally wished it had more kraut, but the corned beef was tender and flavorful. I had added the sweet potato fried and we shared the cheesy fries as an appetizer. Cheesy fries do not do it justice. They were coated with more than enough cheese, accented with chopped onions and other herbs that added flavor and texture. Our waitress was wonderful and explained anything we had a question about during our meal order. I had an amber beer with dinner that really accented the reuben nicely. All in all, the dinner service was as enjoyable as our venture in there for breakfast. The Red Brick Tavern has now become a place we will go to more often ... not only for the food, but for the ambiance. Ciao, Darrell
