Recent visit here was really good. We arrived without a reservation so there was a long wait; we waited about 1hr....Despite the wait, service was good, food was fresh, and delicious. Grouper and grits entree was amazing :-)
Best seafood and Cajun dishes for a chain restaurant! Honestly, Pappadeaux is so delicious and worth all the moneys. We always order: *crawfish & shrimp fondue *oysters on the half shell *calamari or alligator bites *swamp thing cocktail You can't go wrong with any of their pasta entrees or anything with their lump crab meat. Service has always been good to us except when we have to wait for long periods of time because they don't really have a reservation system and they get really busy here all the time.
Have been to Pappadeaux at numerous locations and this particular restaurant several times throughout the years. This experience was disappointing. Unfortunately, as time has gone on the service has declined and the menu has thinned. No crab legs at Pappadeaux anymore? Multiple reasons have been given over time. The shrimp is fantastic., I will give them that, for the prices, they should be. Tried to order an Aperol spritz and was told they do not serve those. No prosecco or aperol? It's a very simple drink, even Cheesecake Factory has them. Odd. For the money, find a better seafood place that is not a chain.
I absolutely love this place. We chose self parking which was super easy. I had no idea you could make reservations as long as you give 2 hour notice. We didn't make reservations but the wait wasn't too long. My husband and I dined here for our birthday celebration. We had the pleasure of having Charles serve us. He told us about the specials and gave us guidance for our fruity drink choice of the evening. We selected "Life's a peach". It was very fruity and tasty. The restaurant was packed but not loud or chaotic. There was such a smooth flow about the evening which made the night even more delightful. For starters we had the crawfish and shrimp fondue. The shrimp plump and fresh. Our entrees dishes were the crawfish étouffée, and the red snapper with spinach. The spinach is the best I've ever had! Everything was absolutely delicious! We will be back.
Been awhile since we ate here but we were hungry after a morning doing some medical tests over at the hospital. We sat at the bar, always easier than waiting for a table and the busy service staff in the dining area. Our server at the bar greeted us and took a basic drink order to start. After he brought it, we looked at the menu and decided on some alcoholic drinks and an appetizer. But it took a bit to get our server's attention, he was buy wiping down the other end of the bar area. We finally ordered and it didn't take long to come out. The calamari was good and they add in small bits of fried octopus which was tasty and tender. Our lunch soon came out, I had the grilled oyster appetizer and a house salad with what he said was an Italian creamy vinaigrette. For me, the oysters were way over seasoned, perhaps salt and spices and were a bit over done, like they left them under the broiler too long. I was glad there were only 6 since they weren't really good. My salad came loaded with stuff, should have asked but I figured a house salad would be lettuce and maybe some other field greens, tomato, a cucumber and dressing. But this was loaded with bacon (which I don't eat at all) cheese, onions and huge croutons. I scraped all that stuff of to the salad part and took one bite and found the dressing so sweet as if it had a ton of sugar. I let our server know and asked for a salad without all the stuff on top and jus oil and vinegar. My wife had the fried shrimp platter which was quite good but OMG, there must have been a pound of French fries on the plate. She couldn't finish all the shrimp so I added it to my salad! Overall, we both agreed that maybe it's because we don't eat out a lot and do most of our cooking at home, but the food was in general over seasoned, even too salty and my wife almost always adds salt to what she serves herself at home. Restaurants have all had to increase prices since the pandemic, our lunch ended up being just over $100 before tip, guess we won't be dining out too soon.
We love Pappadeaux's and always stop when we find one! The service is always wonderful. We stopped in on our way home from our cruise and had a nice lunch for a nice treat before heading home! The food was DELICIOUS as always, maybe even better at this particular location! We love the openness and casual atmosphere. You can dress up or down and you still are welcome and feel like you belong.
I visited for lunch with the girls, and as always, the food and drinks did not disappoint. The only downside was the wait for an available table while several staff members were standing around the check-in counter instead of seating guests. Other than that, we had a great experience and will definitely be back!

Well if you want seafood that's a little close to New Orleans this may be the place. Notice I said close. The food is real seafood and don't taste rubbery. Sometimes the food may lack a little seasoning but overall it will do for Texas. We used to go here often when I first moved to Texas over 20 yrs ago. bc my family who visited approved of the seafood. It still holds it's quality of seafood. I also like the fact that it's a great spot to gather for little occasions like graduation dinners. My aunt liked it so much she drove out here to celebrate her 60th birthday over 10 years ago. She has since passed but I enjoyed looking at the old pictures and sitting in there reminiscing on good times. It still holds true to it's name. This place will always hold a special place in my heart we have had lots of family gatherings and will continue to visit hopefully to create new memories.
I ordered red snapper with shrimp which was one of the most delicious foods I have had! My husband loved the crab cake and I nibbled on the crawfish which was pretty tasty! We had the best server. She would not leave us for extended time. I am very thankful. We sat at a large boot by the bar, but there is another section of the restaurant where you can sit at tables and chairs!
I went to Pappadeaux on I-45 last night for dinner with a friend, and overall, it was a good experience with a few hits and one clear miss. When I arrived, it was not busy at all, so I walked right in and met her at the bar. She had already ordered our drinks, which I appreciated. She got the Purple Voodoo. Even though it is no longer on the menu, they still made it for her, and she said it tasted the same. I ordered my usual Long Island iced tea, and listen, that thing was made to perfection. Not too sweet, not too dark, just the right balance. Whoever made it knew exactly what they were doing. The ambiance was really nice. It was calm with low lighting and good music playing in the background. It was not too loud, just enough to set the mood without interrupting conversation. It was not crowded, but there were a few people in there enjoying dinner and drinks. It made for a really laid back, after work, midweek dinner vibe. For food, she ordered the blackened catfish with red beans and rice, and I went with fried shrimp, a baked potato, and a Caesar salad. The food came out pretty quickly. Now let's talk about the food. The Caesar salad was amazing. It was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly put together. I asked for extra croutons and extra dressing, and while I did not need the extra dressing, I definitely needed those croutons. That salad alone could have been my whole meal with some grilled shrimp or salmon added. The baked potato was really good. It was large, filling, and loaded with butter and cheese. My only critique is that the cheese was not melted. It was more like layered on top in ribbons. If they had warmed it just a bit to melt the cheese, it would have taken it up another level visually and in texture. Now the shrimp. It looked good, but it did not deliver. The breading did not do it for me, and it tasted pretty bland, like it was missing seasoning. Especially compared to how well seasoned and perfectly blackened my friend's catfish looked, the shrimp just did not measure up. That was definitely the miss of the meal for me. I did not taste the catfish, but it looked incredible. It was beautifully plated and a generous portion. My friend ate more than half and took the rest home, which says a lot. Service was exceptional. Attentive, friendly, and smooth from start to finish. Overall, I would give it an 8.5 out of 10. The drinks, service, ambiance, and that Caesar salad carried the experience, but I would skip the shrimp next time.

I ordered the shrimp and crawfish fondeaux everything was delicious my friend ordered the fried shrimp dinner substitute for a loaded baked potato. She informed the waitress that her potato was piping hot but the shrimp was cold, she stated oh do you want me to rewarm it which she opted out of.
This is one of the best Cajun restaurants in the area. As soon as you walk their decor reminds you of your favorite family spot in Lafayette. Their service is amazing and the Cajun flavors are only rivaled by going to New Orleans or the Atchafalaya Basin. The only negative is that it seems like every time I go in they have raised the prices again. We used to come on a regular basis and had our favorite wait staff, now we only come on special occasions. read more

Spur of the moment dinner stop and we had a great meal. They have fresh lobsters in a tank that you can select and have it prepared for you. A great scene for kids I realized. They have such a cute entryway with flowers and seats before entering the restaurant. We were seated quickly and a host took our drink order as soon as we were ready. Hosts were so good to us and gave the best food suggestions. This is a usual spot for my husband for work lunches and meetings so he also gave me great suggestions. I ordered the Louisiana andouille sausage and seafood gumbo and it was so delicious we enjoyed the crab spinach dish with chips before ordering our meal. I suggest the pasta Madi gras as it was so filling I was able to share my pasta in two and still was able to take some home. also the seafood platter was able to serve for two and very flavorful. Traveling for work in Houston and I had to stop at one of my favorite places to eat, Pappadeux.....I'm shocked about the consistency of this place over the years and in different markets. The food was absolutely amazing. I may not be able to eat for the week after this delicious meal. I went with the crawfish etoufee with dirty rice and fried crawfish. They call this the Crawfish platter now....and wow, absolutely delicious. If your looking for southern flavors, look no further than this dish....and to make matters worse, we ordered the cheesecake with extra drizzle, the banana pudding and the sweet potato pecan pie a la mode....what??!?!? The cheesecake was solid but the banana pudding was as great as I can recall and the sweet potato pecan pie was out of this world. I mean seriously, who thinks of these things! Bravo. With great prices on their menu, you walk away feeling like you stole something. I absolutely love this place and keep it going guys as there's not a better place from a value and flavor perspective if you crave Cajun foods. read more
We were celebrating our March birthdays in our group and we decided to go there. We have a party of 12 people. It took 30 minutes to get waters and a whole hour to get our drinks and bread. Another hour to finally get our meal. We got there at 6pm and left at 9. My complaint is for the length of time it was taken since I was hungry when I got there. Our waitress was polite but never acknowledged the service was taking too long. I should've asked for a manager to let them know or just paid for our drinks and left. But I didn't want to be rude to the rest of our party. Not the best experience, the food was good. read more

What a great place to spend our Mardi Gras evening! Seats at the bar with a live band, special Mardi Gras entrees, drinks, and specials couldn't be beat. Gumbo fantastic, catfish portion was huge and cooked perfect! All the bartenders made it a great experience and even through in souvenir glasses Great place to go for all things Louisiana! read more

Pappadeaux was AWESOME! The food, the service and the ambiance were impeccable! First, the food. I almost didn't get the alligator bites because the waiter told me they changed the sauce from the brown sauce, to a sweet, spicy sauce. It was DELICIOUS! I lost my mind on the flavor. Kudos Chef to the new sauce. It was AMAZING! Next, I had the BEST & BIGGEST CRAB CAKE I have ever had in my life! My taste buds were overwhelmed by the freshness and deliciousness of each bite! Lastly, I had the blackened catfish and shrimp which was very, very tasty and FRESH. And the red beans and rice were so delicious too. They too were the best I had ever tasted. OH MY GOODNESS! I have not had so much good food in one meal in such a long time! The other patrons asked what I was eating. I ohhh'd and mmm'd at with every bite. The waiter attended to my every need and the manager was so so sweet. She heard how much I enjoyed the meal and gave me a sweet potato pie with pecans to go. I didn't care for pecans in my sweet potato pie but accepted her kind gesture AND I had no room to eat anything else! However, later at the hotel, when I tried it, AGAIN I was surprised at how much I really enjoyed it. My taste buds were truly delighted! Thank you Pappadeaux's for such a fabulous experience I will never forget! If you are ever in Houston or any of their other locations, please give them a try. It was beyond worth it! read more

Pleasant time at Pappadeaux Two of us came here on a Tuesday for my birthday lunch. We arrived just before noon and were seated right away, taking advantage of the light crowd. Service was prompt and attentive throughout our stay. The complimentary french bread was perfect...especially good with a bit of the whipped butter. My entree, the crawfish platter, was cooked to perfection. The etoufee was delicious and the fried crawfish tails were lightly breaded, hot and crispy. The dirty rice on the side was a nice compliment. We finished off the meal with a complimentary slice of decadent cheesecake. The overall prices here are steep, but OK for a special occasion. $60 for a caesar salad and a crawfish entree, no drinks and a complimentary dessert. read more

What a wonderful experience. As always your food was SPOT on. The ambience was serene and quite peaceful. The high light of our meal was topped only by the service we received. Our server Ms. Gina has a beautiful heart warming smile that lights up any room. She was courteous, friendly, and ready to help. I asked for an item that was not on the menu. She jumped right in and helped me find the meal I was so hungry for. What amazing service. Thank you Erick for stopping at our table. Please take my words to heart. Ambiance was great! My food was horrible. I have been going to pappadeaux for years. This is the first time I have experienced dirty shrimp. I'm was so disappointed, pappadeaux used to be the best seafood in Houston read more
