A coworker of mine held an afternoon reception lunch here where they rented a section of the restaurant for it. I definitely see why this is a favorite amongst the locals and my coworkers party. Patio seating gives a gorgeous view of the water or you can sit inside amongst the many tables and booths available. As for the food, they offer cajun-inspired eats and seafood options here, all of which are quite tasty. They have oysters available along with crawfish if you want to go that avenue. My girlfriend and I kept it simple starting with the stuffed mushrooms, comes with 7 mushrooms stuffed with crab in a butter sauce. Pretty tasty although most of the flavor comes from the sauce. As for entrees, she ordered the cajun pasta while I went with the cajun shrimp cobb salad. The pasta is quite large and rich which suited her. I enjoyed the salad which had all the fixings of a cobb salad; I would've preferred the egg be chopped up but I can't complain. We finished our meal with the bread pudding which was delicious and full of cinnamon and caramel. Apparantly it's their best-selling dessert and I can see why. I noticed they also have live music here on certain days and an expansive happy hour. While this spot is far from where we live, we're definitely open to coming back here to taste other items. read more

Monty's Lighthouse is in a beautiful location. Unfortunately, it was a pretty hot day and we had our newborn with us, so we didn't get a chance to enjoy the outdoor seating, but the views alone make me want to come back and try it another time. The highlight for us was definitely the oysters. We tried a variety of them and really enjoyed them all. Fresh oysters with a good view is always a win. I ordered the po' boy, and honestly it just wasn't my favorite. That said, if you're going to order one, definitely get it with the voodoo sauce. That sauce was the best part, sweet, spicy, and packed with flavor. Service was good, and we got everything we needed without any issues. The restaurant was pretty busy, but I actually liked the atmosphere. It felt lively without being overwhelming. As a new parent, one thing I really appreciated was how easy it was to bring in a stroller. They have a variety of seating options, and we were able to roll right up to the table without feeling cramped or in the way. Overall, a solid experience, and I'd definitely come back. My BF and I stumbled upon this spot. I didn't know what to expect since I didn't read any of the reviews. To be honest, I throughly enjoyed my food. This restaurant is located by the lake so we decided to sit outside to enjoy the views. Our server Collin was pretty nice and was on top of everything. Checked in on us a few times & made sure our drinks were refilled. To start, I ordered their gumbo. For our mains I got 3 pounds of crawfish with sausage & it comes with 2 potatoes & 1 corn. My BF ordered their shrimp Po-boy with French fries. & for dessert I got some beignets. I also ordered the Cajun pasta with shrimp to go. Now, I'm not gonna lie I was a little disappointed that I was overcharged for my crawfish. So they had the happy hour which you can get 2 pounds for 14 bucks. However I was charged 20.99 for 2 pounds on top of that another 7.99 for an extra pound. Okay, now I know I'm not tripping but the math ain't mathing. I didn't look at my receipt until I got home, but I'm not going to be upset over a few bucks. * Seafood Gumbo- kind of expensive for a cup of gumbo since it was 9.69 however it didn't taste bad. The sauce was on the thicker side and it wasn't salty, it had the right amount of seasoning. I would order it again. 3.5/5 * Shrimp Po-boy with fries- loved the batter and the shrimp was fried to perfection. Sauce was good too. Fries were just okay. 3.3/5 * 3 pounds of crawfish with sausage, potatoes and corn- whoever is boiling in the back knows what they're doing. The crawfish was buttery, spice level wasn't too spicy but had good amount of heat. The spicy mayo dipping sauce that was provided was delicious. Sausage was above standard. Corn was cooked nicely but the potatoes could've been boiled for another minute or two. The only criticism I have is that they need to purge their crawfish a little better. 4/5 * Cajun Pasta with shrimp- the pasta was creamy and shrimp was cooked nicely. However for an extra 5 bucks to substitute for shrimp they could've given at least 6-8 shrimps. The 4 I received was on the skimpy side. 3.4/5 * Beignets- came out piping hot. It was doughy, pillowy and had good texture. It also wasn't oily which is good. I just wish they had some sort of dipping sauce for the beignets but I ain't mad at the whip cream though. 4/5 Overall, I'll definitely come back. The inside looks nice with a beach type vibes. The patio views next to the lake was also good. Collin was a solid server. They also have a full bar as well. I'll have to order some of their cocktails next time. read more

Plenty of parking as it's in a shopping center. They had no issues with accommodating our walk in party of 8 people and a baby. We sat outside and our server did a great job with our orders and service. For appetizers, my husband and I split the Baked Tri of Oysters and the table split the Jalapeno Crab Queso. The Baked Trio was really good, I liked the flavors a lot. The Jalapeno Crab Queso was good but not as spicy as I would have hoped. Most of us ordered the crawfish (minimum 3 pounds) and you can add a variety of items to the boils. My husband order the Shrimp and Grits. The crawfish were delicious, I loved the spice of them and the Shrimp and Grits was great and packed with flavor. I visited here since my group wanted seafood, they're open a little late, had live music (you can hear it from the patio mainly), and we got dropped off by the boat captain at the dock, so it was convenient. We started with the boudain egg rolls and 2 orders of the baked trio oysters. For our meal, our group ordered 2 Monty's platters, 3 cajun pasta, and some kids meals. Monty's platter - They were able to make one of our platters grilled, with exception of the crawfish. They could not sub the fries for any other side though. The platters are nicely sized, but do not come with hush puppies. I actually liked the frozen fries. I normally only like hand cut, but this was one of the few times the frozen ones were good. The catfish was great grilled, the shrimp weren't bad either. Everyone liked their cajun pastas as well as the kids meals. Basically we had a good experience here with not a lot of complaints. My one complaint was the price of the salmon cajun pasta. The youngest in our group ordered it and it was actually the most expensive dish. So that was odd. Made a visit to Monty's Lighthouse Cajun Bar & Grill for some seafood on the lake. This is a "mom & pop" place and they have a varied menu to choose from. Worked with my server Ryan and decided on a shrimp cocktail and the Stuffed Redfish. The shrimp were good, but I didn't taste the Cajun Boil flavor...but they were good and the cocktail sauce had a solid kick. The Redfish was a nice slab and the crab stuffing was layered between a slice into the fish. I really enjoyed the lemon butter caper sauce, really complimented the fish without being overly "lemony". The veggies were excellent, perfectly cooked and seasoned while the dirty rice was some of the best I've had in a long time. Great food, wonderful view of the lake, and great service. read more

Great place with a huge deck overlooking the lake. We started with the queso crab dip, the tortilla chips were great! I had the crab cake Benedict which was good, the crab cake was definitely elevated by the sauce it is covered in. . My husband had the chicken biscuit and tenders. He said it tasted great, but you can see from the picture, the tenders were super small. The service was nice and friendly. I forgot to take pictures of food, but it was so good! Their steak was a little overcooked on the top, but tender and juicy inside. Crawfish wasn't the best, but everything else was amazing. It has a beautiful lake scene outside, and nice seating arrangements. When we walked in, it being Mother's Day, they gave every mom a free rose. Visiting Montgomery Texas by Lake Conroe, we decided to stop at this location, Monty's Lighthouse for a late lunch. Customer service great, the meal not so great! We both ordered the crab stuffed redfish which comes with rice and vegetables. Additional ordered a crab bisque soup. The redfish was over cooked, it was like chewing on jerky!! The lemon butter sauce way too tangy!! The rice and vegetables okay. No bread or rolls with the meal. The soup was okay but not enough crab meat. The location is fantastic right off lake Conroe and you get to choose whether you want to be inside or outside viewing the lake. Not the best seafood meal but nice location. Three people showed up late and even though they were late all of the food was delivered hot and fresh. I'm going to give 5 stars to Monty's for our family visit during brunch hours this past Saturday. While the food was excellent, most of the kudos needs to go to the service. We were a party of 8 with 3 kids (one a toddler) with everyone arriving at different times. Our server (my bad that I didn't get his name), was attentive and patient with the group. I'm glad it wasn't crazy busy as I'm sure they would have rather sat the whole party at once. Bottom line is the table ordered a variety of food from oysters, gumbo, mac and cheese for the kids, breakfast, crawfish etouffee, red beans and rice and chicken and waffles. All good, nothing left behind (except some mac and cheese because the kids portions are pretty large). My wife said the Chicken and Waffles was the best she had ever had, and she knows chicken and waffles. Might just be our new Seafood Sunday spot around here! This was our second time coming to Monty's Lighthouse and so glad we gave them another chance. The weather was a little chilly but we enjoyed sitting out on the patio last Sunday. We enjoyed their Loaded Bloody Mary and a bottle of Pinot Grigio.
