Good happy hour deals on Sunday! The mozarella sticks were some of the best we ever had. The giant pretzel was also a hit with kids and adults alike - it was buttery and brown on the outside, ans aoft and warm on the inside. Came with a yummy cheese dip and even better, stone ground mustard that packed a punch. I had a bite of my friend's Philly cheese steak and it was pretty good (we were told it's the best thing on the menu). House wine was $6 during happy hour. Burgers are delicious until you see they are not even cooked medium. It's always a hit or miss on the burgers which is sad. Hint, use a thermometer to see if they are cooked the way the customer ordered it. read more

Came here for a quick meal with a buddy last week. I liked their happy hour and got a few beers to enjoy. My buddy got some fried pickles and mozzarella sticks for apps, both were pretty good. For diner I got their Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. I wasn't a fan. I personally think the chicken was over fried and dry. Honestly, I can't really rate the flavor of the breading because it tasted burnt to me. I did taste the small hint of the maple syrup as described but it wasn't enough to mask how lacking the chicken was. Fries were good tho. Service was decent, took an amount of time. Came on a Thursday night, they had bingo or rather "singo". That was pretty fun. Otherwise, I don't have to return. read more

BeerForest Bar - Nashville hot chicken sandwich - Pubs Near Me - Montgomery, Texas

We arrived around 7pm to get dinner and drinks w/ friends. Sat at a table inside and wasn't greeted for 15 min. We had to get up and flag down one of the bartenders to be served. They took our drink order but we still had to ask for food menus. No one came back around to take our order we had to get up and flag someone down in order to get service(again). Meanwhile the manager was over in the corner playing arcade games w/ his buddies which is fine I guess if it was his day off but one of his bartenders(a girl w/ long brunette hair) was literally sitting on a stool at the end of the bar hanging out w/ him and his buddies. Not doing her job and had a little bit of an attitude when we asked to be waited on. Lo and behold about an hr after we'd been there a group of golfers came in from the country club and best believe their service was snappier and friendlier than what we received. Y'all really need to be treating all your patrons the same and your bartenders need to be clocked in and actually working not just hanging out. read more

Why 4 stars? Because this is another solid addition to Woodforest. --- --- --- I've been keeping an eye on the progress of BeerForest through the updates on our neighborhood Facebook group. Recently, BeerForest opened its doors and many neighbors have been raving about it, so I wanted to stop in and check it out for myself. I called in a pickup order for my wife and I and headed over to what essentially looks like a side door into Harvest Market. For the record, I do not believe BeerForest and Harvest Market are affiliated, but it might look like that if you are just driving by. I ordered a burger and added bacon to it. I also upgraded my fries to truffle fries. My wife ordered garlic parmesan wings and fried pickles. The burger was high-quality - certainly much better than a typical burger from a typical bar. The fries were great, but the portion was shockingly small. I should have counted the number of them, but I think it barely reached double-digits. When we opened the box, my wife assumed I must have eaten most of them in the car. But I wouldn't lie to her or you, the Yelp reader: I did not have pre-mature relations with those fries. The fried pickles and wings that I sampled were enjoyable. Like the burger, better than average bar food, but not necessarily at the top of the list of best wings in the area. But for the convenience factor of living in Woodforest, I could certainly envision return visits in the future. The beer list was fairly large, but a lot of the taps were occupied by the Bud and Miller's of the world. There is certainly a presence of local brands like Karbach, but I wish there was more of that and less mainstream stuff. Best of luck to the newest addition to Woodforest! I hope they can co-exist with Wister's, which is a very similar concept, but with a larger menu. read more

I will say that all of the food we have had here is fantastic. The bartender, Michael busts his hump to keep up with the crowd. My complaint is that it's Monday night, there are a lot of people here and Michael is the only one taking care of EVERYONE. There is some guy here who MIGHT work here. All I ever do is see him do is play Golden Tee and get drinks for the two guys he's playing with. If you aren't sitting at the bar, you are screwed. Recommendations: Add some staff for Monday night football or have everyone who is supposed to be working actually work. read more

BeerForest is nice low key place to enjoy a drink and maybe have some grub. We stopped in on a Monday to check it out and weren't disappointed. 2nd Sunday in a row, could watch my football team as a regular there was in charge of the remotes and watching his favorite teams. I and a few others left to watch at Suburbs. You have many TVs but all hooked together and can only watch 3 games. Suburbs had 70 people watching games on Sunday. The 6 outside tvs at Bear Forest all had the same game on. The kitchen owned by harvest market and comes out wrong everytime. We loved this place but it has gone downhill and manager never there so employees answer with sorry "we have no control" Food comes out cold and takes hours. Employees are angry and frustrated.
