    Flight of high abvs
    Leila R.

Good beer selection w/lots of high abv options and reasonable price for the 4-taster flight. Very friendly staff and informative on the beer offerings. I was heartbroken that their kitchen closed at 11pm because I wanted to one of their artisan hot dogs, as they all looked delicious! However, one of their regulars showed up with a bag of mystery tacos and shared w/everyone at the bar! Seriously, this Taco Angel was sent from heaven as there are not a lot of late night food options nearby! This was a great find in the North Houston area and next time I am in town I will hopefully be able to stop in before the kitchen closes.

(For Sabbatical) I came for a drink. I found an experience. I left elevated, and with a new favorite drink. Bartender's suggestion. (Penicillin) great atmosphere. Above and beyond service. Let the drink refresh your soul. Let this bartender be your guide. (Please get some Creme de Menthe, I want to try your grasshopper)

The beer here is amazing. But I have to let you know about the service provided by the bartender (gentlemen with longer hair) was quite rude. I'm from out of town so I didn't know the menu was online. Well, it is such an inconvenience for it to be SOLEY online--and they have no descriptions whatsoever of the beer that they have on tap in the brewery. Seems absolutely silly to me! The bartender kept making smart-ass remarks about the menu when I asked for a menu of beer. He was like, "you're holding it." It seems just common sense to have the menu with brief descriptions up for new customers to view. The bartender continued being sarcastic when I was asking about the various beers. I asked about getting a flight and had decided on a particular beer, when I told him the one taster I wanted, he rudely stated "we don't sell tasters that way, you can't break apart the flight!!" The tone was so off putting and disrespectful!! I would totally recommend their beer. They have a wide variety of beers from spurs to stouts and all I tasted were absolutely wonderful. But sadly, the customer service is lacking. I'll be back in the future, as I expect to visit my friends here many more times--hopefully service will be more friendly and understanding. And hopefully they put up a list of beers with brief descriptions for their customers.

Hop Scholar Ale House sure copied Hooters Idea pretty sad!

Beer was horrible warm no cold mugs! Beer is to expensive! The place is way to small, No Bud Light draft or Miller draft beer? It's pretty sad when someone copies someone else's logo idea! They copied the Hooters logo: see attachment!

The staff is always great. The rotating selection of beer is on point. The restrooms are always clean. Its a great hang out place. My husband loves to come here any chance he gets. The only negative I can think of is that this place deserves to be bigger. They are so loved that this place gets packed sometimes. I am super glad to hear that they are opening a kitchen later this week. I had the privilege of being one of the lucky few to try a sampling of their menu. Everything I tried was real delicious. You can tell that every sauce was made in house. So yummy.

The weekly rotated brews are a superb collection with something that should favor everyone. I've enjoyed stouts, sours, loggers, and ciders there. The food is not the best I've ever had, but decent for bar food. We have enjoyed the Reuben, pretzel, fried mushrooms, and the kimchi fries.

Pb&j wings and honey sriracha, sounds strange but well done.

The food here is even better than the beer. And the beer is great. Been here many times and tried lots on the menu haven't been disappointed yet.

It's a bar. A beer bar. In a strip mall. They are not a brewery. Not a Beer Garden. Chips for snacks. 3 x Tv sports. Simple place for slightly seedy hipsters.

They need to put a sign up on the tiny road so you don't pass it up. First I will say I came here for a baby shower in one of the private rooms they offer. I cannot comment on the service because I did not need any. I also cannot comment on the food; it was provided by the party. What I can comment on is the parking - it was absolutely horrible! And that is being kind. They had a few spaces available in a field but to get to those spaces you had to drive through a 5 foot hole that was at least 4 feet deep! Thanks but no thanks I don't do off roading! At 2pm this place was packed! There was a DJ, people everywhere, small children everywhere and quite a few dogs. All in all, I am giving the stars for private room because that is what my experience consisted of.

The semi-off-roading experience driving up the long driveway did not reassure me that I had found the spot either. Limited parking spaces were even more limited due to giant potholes filled with water. I had to move my car because once I parked I couldn't get out without getting my shoes soaked. Venue itself is a huge warehouse space. Large shaded deck spans the building. Tables are picnic tables. Great airflow inside with large fans. There is a separate room attached to the large main hall with some high tops and foosball table. Live music this evening with local youth bands from School of Rock. Other touches around the room reinforced their community support (local art on the walls, silent auction for a charity). Great beer selection- B52 beers ranging from IPAs, Pils, Ale, coffee porter. I tried the Bishop Crackberry Cider- just enough sweetness and perfect for the summer night. Service was nice. Food is served outback from a food truck: They give you a buzzer so you don't have to wait around outside waiting for them to call your name. I shared a Chicken Vindaloo pizza with one other person. Portion size was perfect for 2 adults. Although it promised "tongue searing curry" it totally lacked spice. The Indian flavors were there though. Just don't promise me tongue searing- and it's ketchup level spicy. Thin crust was topped with chicken, Black Truffle Ricotta, Mozzerella, Basil- it was an unexpected exotic flavor to find at a traditional brewery.

And let me tell you--that shift made all the difference. It gave us the relaxed, low-pressure vibe we needed to actually talk and enjoy each other's company without feeling rushed or crowded. We ordered a round of drinks and a few appetizers: Three pepper queso (definitely a win) Cheeseburger egg rolls (yes... and yes again) Crab egg rolls (...we'll just say these didn't make the highlight reel) Everything hit except the crab egg rolls--they just weren't giving what they were supposed to give. What I really liked about this spot is that it's not just a sit-and-eat place--it's an experience. They've got pool tables, basketball hoop games, cornhole, and even karaoke studios. We didn't tap into that this time, but trust--we already said next visit is game night. There's also outdoor seating if you want to switch up the vibe. Overall, this was a great place to close out a first date. Good energy, plenty to do, and enough flexibility to make the night what you want it to be. We'll definitely be back... and next time, somebody's getting beat in cornhole
