Came here with my family before seeing a show at the Crighton theater. We parked in the back lot then took the stairs to the 2nd floor. There was an event going on. I asked a waiter where we could sit or if the restaurant was closed for the event. He said that there's no sitting unless we sit outside. We went outside (hot and humid) and then the owner (unbeknownst to us) came outside and asked how he could help us. We were googling other places in the area to eat. Harry himself walked us to the first floor restaurant which WAS open. He was very friendly and kind and took great care of us. Our waiter, Batman, was kind, attentive, and a good guy. We loved the shrimp ettoufee, seafood platter, and more. Felt like we were in NOLA. Towards the end of our dinner, there was a great pianist playing Jimmy Buffet songs. Had a great time here and would definitely come again!

3 stars, why? I've been in Conroe for a few years and have always wanted to try Guadalaharry's. Today I had time to check it out and here's my review. Pros: View: The lake view this restaurant has is amazing!! Me and my wife enjoyed the boats/jet skis shredding the water as we ate our lunch. I was not expecting this type of view. Location: it's not too far off the beaten path from I-45 and it's conveniently located on 1097 to make it easy access to grab a bite and get out. Uniqueness: This is a second story restaurant. The first floor is occupied by a Shell gas station. You don't see that too often around this area. Also there is an elevator for handicap access on the first floor. Service: Everyone was extremely friendly and served with a smile. The service wasn't amazing by any means but the whole staff was constantly flowing around the restaurant so if you needed anything you could easily stop any waiter or waitress. Cons: Price: For me and my wife to eat lunch cost us 34.00 even (before tip). I was a little shell shocked considering the food was mediocre. Nothing about our dishes justified that price. Obviously I knew the price before purchasing our meals but after experiencing the meals, it just didn't fit the bill (in my opinion). Parking: Although there was plenty of parking when we came at lunch time, I could foresee parking being a big issue at peak hours in the evening. The parking lot was smaller than expected and it is shared by the Shell gas station. Quality: My wife enjoyed her plate (Chicken sandwich) and I thought it was great too. The only comment I had is the onion rings are anti-climatic. They were HUGE but the taste was just not there. I ordered the buffalo chicken tacos. The buffalo sauce tasted like a Kroger brand wing sauce and the chicken was not seasoned. It tasted like frozen chicken!!! The queso that comes with this dish was thick and had a "fresh out of a can" vibe. If I had to guess, tasted like a cheap version of Nico's cheese sauce from Sam's Club. If we ever came back, we would definitely the chicken sandwich again but try the fries instead of onion rings. Overall it was pretty average at best! It appears this place is big on the drinks and had two full bars (one inside and one dedicated for the patio guests). I'm not sure if we will ever be back but I do think it's worth trying out once. If you are in the area stop by Guadalaharry's for a unique experience!

This is such a cool little spot near the lake. The restaurant is on top of a gas station, which gives it a great view from of the lake. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The food is solid. My recommendation is to sit at the bar and let them take care of you. Chips and salsa are great and def add chili con queso. Likely one of the best things on the menu during season is the crawfish. They are spicy, so be ready!!!! See you soon for more crawfish!! Cheers!

The chicken fried steak is on of the best I have had This is a stop you need to put on your list.....

Chris and salsa. A little watery but tasty salsa. Be warned no free chips and salsa.

Would love to give it a 5 but can't. Will come back for view, service and ambiance. Get there early for happy hour well drinks. The top shelf margaritas and Tex Mex chicken enchiladas were not good. The poor boy sandwich was really good but small for the price. Loved the onion rings. Had country singers so overall a great place.

We almost missed a great evening! Luckily we had a friend who's band was playing, so we went anyway! We are super glad we did! The reviews were all over the board here, and it's known for being expensive. It is expensive for meals, and inexpensive for draft domestics. I can find a way to be happy! However, the plates were all very large, and easily justified the prices! Every single one of us had to take a doggie bag, and promise you... I can eat a LOT! We had the burger, because almost every review said it was outstanding! It was... and it was HUGE! A half-pound burger, cooked to order, tons of toppings, and they offer you an egg on top... can you beat that? NOPE! The wife had the extra crispy fries, and she's a fry snob, and was super happy. The man himself, Guadalaharry even helped wait on our table (and was constantly checking on every table in the restaurant). He recommended the nacho's and to add chili (nice upsell)! It was HUGE AMOUNTS OF FOOD! 3 of us couldn't finish it! and it was delicious!! Highly recommend! Our waitress was on point, and never skipped a beat! Pro Tip: Split the dishes, order more beer! We then moved our table out to the deck, enjoyed the evening breeze after the sun went down, and really enjoyed the band! 5 STARS! Get in here, and have a great time!

    Blackened shrimp Po-Boy

I got the blackened shrimp po-boy and it was DELICIOUS. I definitely recommend. The fries were crunchy and yummy. Atmosphere was great, went at 5-30-6pm and it was slow. Great service, had Lash! Def come here. Literally inhaled my food

The venue is interesting and has a second floor view of the lake. The view and the friendly staff make it 4 stars. The food would have made it 3. Chicken fried steak was pretty good but not exceptional. It was hand breaded, so that's nice. The Harry burger was big and was a hand formed patty. However, $18 is a lot for a burger in Conroe. The fried pickles were pretty tasty. We came on Singo night, Thursdays. Bingo but they play music as a twist. It was fun for a Christmas party and we may come back to show others. However, with these prices and the quality it will be a destination restaurant rather than being regular. Edit: after spending more time, the place needs a good wipe down and dusting. Down to 3 stars

The food is always good but over priced ($17-$20 for a burger). Drinks are sometimes good but not consistent in strength. Staff is great and very friendly!

This place is located in Montgomery technically but is right next to Conroe you can see the lake driving up it was so beautiful. It's a prohibition style speakeasy with the hidden door and the ambiance is so beautiful inside with an amazing bar and just a great vibe. We loved how the waitresses were dressed in dresses from the time it was so classy and fun. And we went on a night they had live music and it was sooo good. Now let's talk about the drinks there were so many choices of cocktails bourbon whiskey you name it. I let the waitress pick mine it was something with pear and it was yummy. We both loved our drinks. My husband loved his old fashion. The food was absolutely delicious we enjoyed the crab toast and lamb lollipop and the Chilean sea bass which were all to die for. Oh and Lavendar creme brûlée for dessert. We met Rob and his wife the owners who are the nicest people and now we can't wait to come back with friends to salsa night. If you're looking for a nice dinner spot with great drinks food and music on certain nights just the best service you have to come try this location you won't be disappointed. Our waitress was admittedly new, but when our food arrived an hour and a half later, it was so disappointing. Three of us ordered ribeyes, and none of them were cooked to our order; plus, they were charred on the bottom & sides. The wagyu burger was burned as well. We also ordered a bottle of wine, but the first 3 choices were out of stock!? Really? Our choice was to jump into a $60.00 or $80.00 bottle. The service team never checked in on how our food tasted or how we were doing. It's like they knew that they ruined our dinner and experience. About this, they call it a speakeasy because the doorway is a bookcase that is as obvious as the nose on your face. The dude hosting the stand at the door, did not even ask if we enjoyed ourselves. For these prices, they should be ashamed of the food they served us. Seriously! Do not waste a dime here. I am making sure everyone I know does not make the mistake we did.

I am soooo picky about fried pickles and these are the best I've had. The pickles were good, crunchy, not overly oily, and stayed together! 12/10 Pickle flatbread: apparently I felt in a pickle escapade mood. Surpringly not over pickly and delicious. I would absolutely get this again. The crust was soft and cheese was melty! 9/10 Fish tacos: average. The chipotle sauce was a bit spicy. Don't know that I would get these again. 5/10 Fries I could skip, not my fave. The street corn was so good, though I wouldn't consider it traditional &! A bit heavy on the red onion, but I enjoyed it! Their sauces were all so good! The prices were fair & I feel like the amount I paid was relative to what I had, so kudos to management for that! Last but certainly not least, Prestyn, our server was great and hilarious. We truly enjoyed her & her jokes! PS - Girl, you and your name are beautiful! What a mistake I waited so long to make! This place did not disappoint. We started with the fondue, and wow... rich, creamy, and served piping hot like molten cheese lava in a proper fondue pot. The toasted French bread cubes were perfectly dunkable, and that cheese has more pull than the President. It's pure cheesy happiness in a pot--seriously, the cure for any bad mood. The beet carpaccio was another standout: beautifully thin slices drizzled with sweet fig balsamic, topped with goat cheese crumbles and fresh microgreens. Even the beet skeptics at our table went back for seconds. Next came the strawberry goat cheese salad, and I'm officially a convert. I used to avoid fruit on salads, but this one changed my mind completely. Sweet strawberries, creamy goat cheese, and crisp greens in perfect balance. I'm already planning my next visit with grilled salmon on top. For mains we shared the chicken paillard--light, bright with lemon, and paired with dreamy whipped mashed potatoes--and the steak frites. The steak was tender and juicy, but let's be honest... those frites stole the show. Fresh-cut, double-fried, perfectly crispy and salty. I could have eaten an endless basket of them. Absolute drool-worthy. We finished the night with sharing a plate of beignets. Warm, fluffy and dusted with powdered sugar. The service was phenomenal, especially for a large group. Our server never missed a beat, and the whole team was warm and attentive. The drink menu is excellent too--great selection of beers, wines, and creative cocktails. The Napoleon was our table favorite by far. Petite Suzette has officially earned a new set of regulars. We'll be back later this week, and I can't wait to try even more. I was going to a Dave Matthews show at the Pavillon and wanted to grab dinner beforehand, so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity. I got to Market Street about an hour and a half before the concert started, and quickly became really nervous when I discovered the Market Street was apparently now Grand Central Station in New York City. Every human being on Earth was also here and the area was buzzing. After hunting forever, I finally got a parking spot and hustled down to the restaurant, only to be told it would be a 30 minute wait. Not good! However, just in the time it took me to sit down and scan through my phone for a last minute pivot to a new restaurant, my name was called. My 30 minute wait turned into a 5 minute wait and it could not have been more clutch. But because I was still in a bit of a hurry, I was ready and ordered the Trophy Burger as soon as my server came to greet me. And as was the theme of the night so far, said trophy burger was at my table within a few minutes. And because this was a solo mission for me, said trophy burger was in my belly in only about the time it took for them to cook it. My thoughts on the burger is that it was perfectly 4-stars. In between average and amazing. One thing that really stands out is that it was a messy undertaking. Don't eat this on a date before you're comfortable with the other person seeing you with sauce constantly all over your face and spilling onto your plate. Everything was all happening at such hyper speed that I even had time to order the dessert. I love Reeces, so when I saw a Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cup on the menu, I couldn't resist. You'll never believe it, but it was on my table within 2 minutes. My rating for this ranges from bite to bite. Some bites were amazing and others were just okay, depending on which ingredients were within that spoonful. Overall, I wouldn't need to order it again, but no regrets on trying it out. This is a nice addition to Market Street, and the back-of-house deserves a healthy share of the tips with how on top of it they were during a night with a packed house!
