My friend and I saw an advertisement for a saxophone player and a steak special ($22.95) for Wed., July 1, 2026. We got there around 6:20 pm. There was NO saxophone player. My friend ordered the steak special (with mashed potatoes and asparagus). They were out of asparagus, so they substituted it for a side salad. My friend got sick immediately after consuming her dinner and went to the car. I told her that I would pay the tab. I rushed out to get my friend home. After reviewing the receipt the other day, I see that they charged $28.95 for the steak, $4 for the mashed potatoes and $2.95 for the side salad. I have NEVER seen any place charge for everything on a plate, individually, and the price of the steak was not the price advertised. I even left a $15 tip for the waiter. False advertising - on the entertainment, as well as the price of the "steak special." read more

I've been here twice now and I didn't want to post a review based on my first experience without giving them a second chance. Pricing is crazy. $8-9 for wells, $14-16 for their recipes and don't even ask me what shelf liquors are. The place is gorgeous and a nice change from a lot of the dive bars in the area. But here's the thing. I can drink, a lot if I want to, without any issues usually. But here? I get completely messed up within a few drinks. I don't know what it is at all. Recently, I had 4 drinks and I don't even remember the night. My friend had 5 and walked out and drove home with her full drink in her car without a single bartender noticing; I wasn't aware until I came home and noticed a martini glass that we didn't own sitting on our bar. The hangovers from this place are unreal. And again, I'm not some shy drinker at all and I'm a bartender myself. Friends also say the same thing where they can drink all night anywhere but here it's horrible. I won't be going back. As beautiful as this bar is, they don't run it right, can't pour correctly and they don't actually care about their customers. read more

Every time I go here I have such a great time ! They make excellent drinks and the food is awesome. The smash burger slaps ! This is a more upscale place with the pricing conducive to the location on the lake. This is not a dive bar with dive bar prices. It's nice here. I moved here from Austin and I know this is the best bar around if you are looking for something more than some typical old ass country bar. The music is always great and the bartenders make the place even better. This has been the most consistent super fun place to get tipsy at by far. Decided to give Bar Lago Conroe a shot for our date night. Our overall experience was pretty good! I know they just opened up so there are a few growing pains I took into consideration. First, the atmosphere and the view were 10/10! We sat outside and had a lovely view of the lake. The interior of the restaurant was modern and clean. The food was awesome! We had truffle fries, chicken quesadilla, fish taco, shrimp taco, and chicken taco. I liked the chicken taco the best because it came with a soft tortilla. If the others came with a soft tortilla they all would have been 10/10! The drinks were AMAZING!!!! They are a little pricey but definitely worth it in my opinion. They were beautifully crafted and delicious!! I had the Margarita Del Lago and my husband had Summer Spice. The staff was very friendly and accommodating! We felt very welcome. The service was okay. We were told all items were made from scratch so each item was brought out one at a time. At the end of our meal, my husband asked for a michelada and 30 minutes passed by and he never received it. We paid and left. We probably would have stayed if the service was a little faster. read more

Only thing you guys have working for you in my opinion would be the wonderful bartender that was working this past Wednesday! Every drink my group of 4 ordered was spot on and delicious! The food was meh.. I didn't complain while there since I was hungry and it was edible. The main problem was the smell creeping from what I assumed to be a back-flowed toilet.. we almost forced ourselves to eat outside but it was way too cold. Again, LOVED our bartender. Of course I forgot her name and didn't keep the receipt. Oops! I'll try again if the food gets some seasonings overall a cute place. Bit cramped, but not uncomfortable. Very cool vipe! Smallish but intimate. Excellent Old Fashioned. A little pricey but what isn't these days. Indoor & outdoor seating with a view to the lake. Friendly staff. Haven't tried the food yet; the fare offered is small bites & appetizers. Parking can be somewhat of a challenge around dinner time as Bar Lago is situated within five restaurants. So we sometimes eat dinner at one of the restaurants & go there for drinks after. We really like Bar Lago!! read more

Excellent ceviche! Very authentic recipe from Venezuela with a rich tomato base. Service was solid and very friendly. Location is great.

Second visit within a month and both were not great. There were literally 5 people in the bar and the bartender/waitress was texting on her phone the entire time we were there. She never asked us if we wanted another drink or even food. Not sure how this place is still in business because they are definitely lacking on customer service. read more

Went for a scheduled birthday dinner on a Tuesday evening and online as well as the pop up sign out front stated that their hours are from 12pm - 10pm. We arrived at 3:30 pm and were told they don't open until 4 so we walked around no problem and came back at 4pm and had to wait another 30 minutes to be seated. When we were seated and the floors were sticky, bathrooms weren't clean, obviously at 4:30 they were still not prepared to open. We then ordered the truffle fries and 30 minutes after ordering we were told that they were out of potatoes. Then ordered a pizza and we did not receive It for another hour, not to mention that we were the only people in the resturant. Drinks were fabulous and the bartender/waitress was lovely but unfortunately was not a great first experience. read more
