Beautiful Italian restaurant on the lake in Conroe! I was impressed with the decor and the ambiance. The inside is so beautiful and I love all of the decor and the music. Our server was sooo sweet. As someone from CA, can I just say that the service and people in general in Texas are just the nicest and kindest people ever? I wish I got her name, she was lovely! Our food came out quick. I got the chicken parm with the penne pasta, my boyfriend got the pesto pasta with shrimp, and we also tried the famous garlic bread (which is famous for a reason by the way!) The garlic bread was so fresh and delicious. The dipping sauce sent it over the edge!! My chicken parm was very yummy, I was a little bit unimpressed by the penne and the bell peppers though I must admit. It looked and tasted a little bit like I made it myself. My boyfriend loved his shrimp pesto pasta! We finished the meal with some tiramisu which was the best I've ever had!! It was absolutely delicious and light and a perfect way to end the meal. They were so good about splitting our meal since neither of us was very hungry. Started with Burrata Cheese. Paired with fresh tomatoes with basil purée and tapenade olives, it was so delicious. The perfect start to a fun GNO. The Amore Famous Garlic Dinner Rolls are famous for a reason. Freshly baked rolls, toasted open-faced, drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and garnished with garlic, parmesan cheese and served with bruschetta sauce. Sooooo good!!! Split the Chicken Veronese / Veronese Di Pollo. The fresh chicken breast sautéed with tomato, artichoke, and mushrooms in a lemon garlic cream sauce is usually served with asparagus and mashed potatoes, but we switched it up. I love really good gnocchi. Their Four Cheese Gnocchi is really, really good. So glad that we were splitting, because their gnocchi are also really, really rich. Would definitely make this substitution. Paired this with the Sautéed Spinach which was a nice balance against all of the other creamy Italian selections. Would highly recommend Amore Fine Dining for a fun GNO, date night or family dining. The restaurant is spacious with lots of cute nooks and crannies. Service was top notch. It's absolute shit. We went there last night with my wife and my four-year-old son for my wife's birthday. Immediately we had red flags, everyone in there was over the age of 70 no taste buds. Jose knew the menu, gave great recommendations and provided exceptional service. The private room made the experiance for a large group feel very quaint and intimate. We enjoyed the mixed seafood grill and chicken Marsala with some lovely cocktails while Ms Tate sang some wonderful soft tunes creating a magical night. We had the creme brûlée and cappuccinos for dessert. Our server was a sweet young lady from Florida and her pleasant attitude was welcoming from the start. We eat here about once a month as it is a bit of a drive and we are never disappointed. The prices are very reasonable and the fresh pasta dishes are always classic Italian. I don't say that lightly but whatever you look for in a fine restaurant, you'll find it here: a warm intimate decor, a great bar where I saw a bartender spend several minutes meticulous finishing a beautiful crafted drink, a great staff that treats you like they've known you for years, delicious food served perfectly, an old world Italian owner-chef named Alfred, who is obviously and deservedly proud and caring...AND an unbelievably wonderful singer named Kevin Weishaar on Friday and Saturday nights who sings the great American song book, and who would have been a star in the glory days of New York supper clubs. Not a great experience for us. We went for New Year's Eve. The menu was very limited, which typically is fine. Unfortunately, here there were maybe six items and all except one was over $65. Still ok, not great, but ok. Our two biggest reasons for the two stars? An Italian restaurant with no pasta. Entrees served with mashed potatoes. When we asked questions about the menu a very rude waitress said they had to flip 400 covers tonight so kitchen wasn't going to be able to handle it. Four of us went to dinner this past Saturday. The restaurant appeared to be extremely clean...which I truly look for in a restaurant. The service was really good as well. Although we enjoyed the food, it wasn't excellent, and my dish seemed fairly salty. It had capers so that might have caused it. We felt the prices were a bit high though. The bill for four garlic rolls, four entrées, two wines and one iced tea was about $185. With the $35 tip, it totaled over $220. I would recommend the restaurant, but be prepared to spend a bit. read more

Past by Amore numerous times while shopping and exploring our new home town and this restaurant caught my wife's attention so we stopped in for dinner one evening. We ordered a couple of martini's and enjoyed the delicious garlic dinner rolls as we perused the menu. My wife settled on the Chicken Alfredo and I went with the Blackened Flounder. Both meals were absolutely outstanding. The flounder in particular was something I had not had in a very long time and this fish was only made better with the garlic cream sauce. We ended our evening with a piece of their decadent and delicious chocolate cake. I can't say one bad thing about Amore. Our waiter was great and provided some of the best service I have had in a very long time. The meals were perfectly presented and well worth the price. The décor was traditional yet classy and provided a very warm and inviting atmosphere. There is a quaint little bar in the front of the restaurant that I believe has live piano music and we will be stopping in to check it out in the future. If you have not tried out Amore yet, I highly recommend stopping in for a romantic evening and a great meal. read more

Service: to start the service was phenomenal! We had mentioned it was our first time so they showed us the entire restaurant and let us pick where we wanted to sit. We chose the bar but honestly I would have been happy with either spaces. The bar is smaller and more intimate. Food: the food was so good! I had the mushroom risotto and the texture was perfect and the shrimp were cooked to perfection and veined! I can't remember what my husband ordered it was a chicken dish but it was very tasty! We did get the garlic bread and holy moly! The bread was sliced and stuffed and it came with a dip that was truly spectacular! Overall: this place a beautiful, romantic, and very reasonably priced! Amore is not your average Woodlands restaurant, so if you're looking for something unique, Amore might just be it. My husband and I have gone to Amore for dinner a couple of times now and each time has been memorable. The menu has a nice selection of traditional Italian dishes as well as a complementary wine list. Their wait staff is welcoming and attentive. We always ask to sit in the bar area so we can listen to the live entertainment which adds to the whole experience. There seems to be a solid group of regulars who share our enthusiasm for the music and if you're so moved, you just might find yourself dancing. read more

Overall bad service, ambiance, food and parking. The parking lot is small and difficult to find parking. Parked way in the back behind restaurant. We were seated near the front door next to the piano. Could not hear ourselves due to the piano playing. People who came in after us got better seats in booths and in more desirable areas. People were constantly coming behind my seat, talking and making their way into the restaurant. Very unsettling. Food appeared to be from frozen food ( vegetables). Was told they could only cook steak medium rate ( should have placed those on the menu website). No dress code with folk coming in dressed inappropriately for "fine dining" This is a glorified Olive Garden at best. Food was bland. Bread was hard. Butter was stick hard. Why 5 stars? Because this is certainly the finest dining experience in Montgomery. --- --- --- To be honest, I don't think there's much competition in terms of fine dining in Montgomery, so maybe I should expand that statement to: One of the more memorable special occasion dinners my wife and I have had together. After moving to the area about 3 months ago, this was obviously our first anniversary dinner since we've lived here. For me, it was an obvious choice once I started doing some research on where we should go. The ratings were really great and the menu was full of several really amazing options. The one caveat is that you will need to be prepared to drop a few dollars here. Our meal came to $220 after tip and while we found it to be absolutely worth it, we unfortunately will not be able to visit regularly. When I called a few days earlier to make a reservation, the person who answered the phone acted as if I was an old family member who was coming to visit after being lost at sea for 20 years. When he asked if there was a special occasion and I said that it was for our anniversary, it sounded like he nearly fainted due to over-stimulation. And the service all throughout the night was excellent, including at the end of the meal when they brought us out a complimentary cheesecake, which was delicious. As for the food we paid for, the hot lobster roll was the absolute highlight of the meal for me. It was only on the lunch menu, but they were kind enough to make it for us anyway. We went a little crazy and ordered it as an appetizer to share because we wanted to try some other meals as our entrees. I strongly encourage anyone reading this review: ***Do not come here without ordering the lobster roll*** - I eat lobster rolls whenever I see them on a menu and this one is among the best, if not *the* best I've ever eaten. And it was a ton of lobster stuffed into it, which is usually the biggest gripe about lobster rolls - that there's barely any actual lobster in them. Not the case here. I will absolutely be coming back for lunch for one of these. Before I move onto the meals, I would be remiss to not mention the bread. It was excellent on its own, but what made it unique was that it came with a balsamic-type dipping sauce. I've never seen this before but now I'm wondering why it's not a thing elsewhere because it's a perfect pairing. Our entrees were seafood pasta (me) and Lobster Capellini (wife). Her pasta was a bit creamier/heavier, which I think I liked a bit more than mine. But mine had as much seafood as pasta, including a giant lobster tail - hence the $60 price tag. Both were very enjoyable, but my one gripe is a common one with higher end restaurants that was also the case here: living the tails on the shrimp. I'm not sure why places do this when it's so messy to pull them off, but again, this is a common thing for whatever reason. Our first anniversary celebrated in Montgomery was a memorable one - I can't wait to come back for lunch for that hot lobster roll! read more
