Liking the waterfront restaurants in this Lake Conroe plaza, we have frequently noted Petit Suzette. Finally, we actually decided to go! French food is a bid of a scarce find North of Houston. The space is small but, quiet. Fitting for the sort of intimate French dining experience they provide. Lots of black ceiling space, adding to the feel of a night out "dans la grande rue." Hostess and wait staff were friendly and happy. We landed in the French Riviera on Fondue special night. Our waiter, Sebastian (come on, right?!? perfect) sold us on the half price treat immediately, split by the three of us it was so much fun. Trying not to make a mess, while trying not to appear to be scarfing down every last bit of french bread loaf cubes that comes with it. Emmental cheese melt combination, such a good twang to the cheese and a smooth feel. Good time. Dinner was served promptly. Fish, Poultry, Red Meat in the forms of Coq au Vin, rich, juicy, delicate (as "au Vin" should be) served with those little french style carrots with the nub of the bright green stem attached...so, foreign and cool. My Daughter had the Salmon on a raft of asparagus (so fat and round, I couldn't believe how absulutely soft they were; since, usually big asparagus have super woody stems. These were almost cartoon-large and still every bit was edible.) all smothered in Hollandaise sauce, and topped with caviar (salmon roe). I ordered the Lamb á la Menthe, Loin and chop sprinkled with micro-greens, traditional green beans, substitute carrots for broccoli rabe and added 3 Jumbo Shrimp (to dunk in the rest of the fondue cheese) Hey, you can do what you want with your food when its your turn! Finished up splitting a Créme Brûlée. You have to, it's perfectly French, it was a little too yummy and I could get the picture taken before the spoons had half devoured it. Now for the Piéce de Résistance...Toillettes... Clean, modern-enough, bright, small (fitting for the size of the dining room) with some trendy bits, the Oceanic blue stone pattern tiles on the walls, the copper sink (cool), gold mirrored napkin holder (not one of those tacky chrome wall-mount dispensers), oil-rubbed brass fixtures. Just enough to stay on par with the dining experience as a whole, but, nothing in and of itself to write home about. Certainly, didn't carry a French influence into the restroom, at least the men's. I can't wait to go back to this place! Why didn't I get truffle mac n cheese? Why didn't I try Ratatouille?!? ALL LOVE for this place and Nothing but Good Food in a romantic setting. Followed up with a walk along the waterfront docks, with sailboats slipped and a Catfish feeding well in the center of the docks. Lights from the adjacent waterfront restaurants over the night time boats...great date night destination. Highly Recommend. But, only if you like food. Bon Appétit! read more

I've driven past Petite Suzette in Montgomery countless times and have even parked right out front, but for some reason I never stepped inside--until our POA tasting event gave me the perfect excuse. What a mistake I waited so long to make! This place did not disappoint. We started with the fondue, and wow... rich, creamy, and served piping hot like molten cheese lava in a proper fondue pot. The toasted French bread cubes were perfectly dunkable, and that cheese has more pull than the President. It's pure cheesy happiness in a pot--seriously, the cure for any bad mood. The beet carpaccio was another standout: beautifully thin slices drizzled with sweet fig balsamic, topped with goat cheese crumbles and fresh microgreens. Even the beet skeptics at our table went back for seconds. Next came the strawberry goat cheese salad, and I'm officially a convert. I used to avoid fruit on salads, but this one changed my mind completely. Sweet strawberries, creamy goat cheese, and crisp greens in perfect balance. I'm already planning my next visit with grilled salmon on top. For mains we shared the chicken paillard--light, bright with lemon, and paired with dreamy whipped mashed potatoes--and the steak frites. The steak was tender and juicy, but let's be honest... those frites stole the show. Fresh-cut, double-fried, perfectly crispy and salty. I could have eaten an endless basket of them. Absolute drool-worthy. We finished the night with sharing a plate of beignets. Warm, fluffy and dusted with powdered sugar. The service was phenomenal, especially for a large group. Our server never missed a beat, and the whole team was warm and attentive. The drink menu is excellent too--great selection of beers, wines, and creative cocktails. The Napoleon was our table favorite by far. Petite Suzette has officially earned a new set of regulars. We'll be back later this week, and I can't wait to try even more. If you're anywhere near Montgomery, do yourself a favor and go in. You won't regret it! read more

We came here on a whim for our anniversary trip and it did not disappoint! The whipped Brie is to die for, the pork tomahawk is delicious especially with the truffle sauce, and the shrimp & scallops were tender and flavorful. We had an espresso martini and French press for our cocktails and both were great. We topped it off with a bananas foster gluten free crepe, which was also delicious. Service was excellent and the restaurant is super cute for a date night or a girls night. Highly recommend! read more

Why 4 stars? Because we really liked experiencing something different. --- --- --- When I think Lake Conroe, I do not think French food. Most of the restaurants around Lake Conroe are comprised of the typical fare: burgers, seafood, Tex-Mex, etc. Petite Suzette is a nice change-of-pace and definitely a place we plan on coming back to in the future. But as for visit #1: -First off, we had a great server. I'm so mad at myself for not getting her name, but she was excellent. When I asked for recommendations, she had a lot of great thoughts to share. Despite this place not being open that long - it seemed like she has tried most of the menu already. Here's what we ordered... -Beignets: 5-stars. My wife and I were not totally sold on starting with something sweet, but we did it and had no regrets. I think these were the best thing we ate. -Truffle Mushroom Croque Madame: 4-stars. This was our server's top recommendation (her favorite thing on the menu). I liked it... didn't love it, but appreciated it. A couple of the bites were super heavy on the mushroom flavor, and I did kind of wish I had ordered the ham and cheese one in those moments, but I was happy with this overall. -French Dip: 4-stars. This was another enjoyable order, that I would stop just short of saying that I "loved" it. It was like the French cousin of a Philly cheesesteak, and I mean that in a complimentary way. -Nutella Crepe with Banana and Ice Cream: 3-stars. This one was just ok. I did appreciate that the ice cream was Blue Bell though. The decor/vibe in here was great. Such a cute local French spot with great service and a really nice wine selection. It's the kind of place that feels cozy and welcoming right away. We ordered the coq au vin croquettes again (our second time)--still very yummy and definitely a must-order for us. The creamed corn was very good and comforting, and the coq au vin itself was rich, flavorful, and delicious. The creamy mushroom soup missed the mark for us--it wasn't very creamy and probably wouldn't order it again. When I tell you to run not walk to this spot, I mean like yesterday. The food is absolutely Incredible, fresh as it gets and great attention to detail. The chicken cordon bleu, such a simple dish in theory, was masterfully cooked. The fondue was delicious and a fun appetizer , definitely recommend that and the cocktails were well balanced and not skimped on the goodness. We ended with the bananas foster crepe ala mode and it was the perfect chef's kiss to a beautiful meal. It does not feel like you are dining in Conroe because the interior is so elegant and clean. Our book club went for dinner a few of days before Christmas. The good was the Petite 75 cocktail. Delicious! The not so good was the Steak and Frites. I accepted that it was a "Bistro" steak (aka mystery cut) and it was served in cut up chunks (which was ok) but it was served barely warm & it was TOUGH, in spite of being medium rare. The sauce was not to my liking either. Tasted vinegary. The Frites potatoes however were perfect. Atmosphere & decor is nice and the server did well considering we were a table of 8. If there was a punchcard for Petite Suzette, I think I would have a full card. Dinner with friends Thursday night, political strategy meeting on Friday for lunch and then brunch with friends today. Atmosphere is so nice. I like that they have added sound absorbing panels to reduce the noise. Food is fantastic and cocktails are delicious. Servers were very attentive. Only glitch was timing of plates from the kitchen. Dinner and lunch there were significant wait times for last entrees to come out. Being over 1/2 French I wanted to fall in love with this place. Unfortunately, it's either hit or miss. Some of the dishes are fantastic, such as the pork tomahawk and beef bourguignon, the steak tartare, the Brie. But...many of them are mid and at such a high price point, not worth it, for real. Super cute restaurant. We arrived around 1030 and there was plenty of seating. By 1130, it filled up. Very nice decor inside. Loved the lights with butterflies on them. I had the ratatouille omelet. It was amazing. So good. The potatoes were ok. Ketchup gave them some flavor. The salt honey latte was good but very sweet. My husband had the breakfast sandwich and loved it. He had the bananas foster latte. He really liked it. Couldn't really taste banana. Leo had the French toast. He didn't like the fig part but he ate all the French toast. He's a teen though. I tried the topping on the French toast and I thought it was really good. The French breakfast was perfect for my other son. He cleaned his plate but also agreed that the potatoes could use some more flavor. I asked for jam for my toast and they brought out some grape and strawberry jam. Both were very good as well. Been to this delicious little French cafe several times now and it never seems to disappoint... until it does. I've ordered the Truffle Croque Monsieur a few times and it's always been during "brunch" hours. On this particular occasion it was just lunch. I asked for a fried egg on top of this sandwich because it's an absolute game changer.... Only this time, I was told they don't serve eggs outside of "brunch" hours. Well I'll be!
