I've been to Tailgaters before at other locations, but the Conroe location is hands down my favorite. First off, our waitress was amazing. Super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I wish I caught her name! One thing I really liked is that it feels like there are two completely different vibes depending on where you sit. There's a restaurant side and a bar side, which is perfect now that I have a newborn. It felt much more family-friendly than I expected and didn't feel like I was sitting in a sports bar. The food was awesome, too. Either it's been a while since I've been to a Tailgaters, or this location just does things differently, but I was surprised by how many food options there were. I finally got to try gator for the first time and ordered the Gator Dog. It was honestly delicious. It's mixed with pork, so it eats more like a really good sausage, which I loved. We also had the steak fingers and fried crawfish, and both were great. The real showstopper, though, was the onion rings. We had absolutely no idea how massive they were going to be. I'm still thinking about them. I seriously wish I had taken pictures of the food because it all looked incredible, but somehow I completely forgot. We'll definitely be back, and next time I'll remember to take photos before we start eating. But I had to add pictures of the menu because that's the one thing I looked for on the Yelp Page here and could not find it so hopefully this helps someone else. read more

Shout out to bartender Liz!!! It is so Hard to find good friendly service and she provided this. Made me an amazing blueberry lemon drop that was on the menu as a shot but I asked for it as a martini. (went to another Tailgators and they just put the shot in a martini glass lol) she was fabulous and checked on us just enough instead of too much. Loved all the TVs. Wish I'd stayed a lot this one to eat during the later games but had to pick up my niece closer to another one. I would return here no questions asked for sports days. read more

Been here a few times and the service is horrendous! Barely got acknowledged when we sat at the bar and the bartender acted as if he was doing us a favor by being there. My drink sat empty until I was half way done with my meal. We were deciding if we should go there or walk ons and I really like tailgators burger so we decided to give it another try even though in the past the service has sucked. Well, we will not go back. Looking for a new place near Lake Conroe and decided on Tailgators. The door was opened by a nice young lady to let us in and greeted us very kindly. When we walked in, we were greeted by more staff, one of which sat us at a booth. The dining room was large with a full bar and countless TVs with sports. We ordered salad, BBQ wings, fries, BBQ pulled pork burger with curly fries. The burger was very tasty and too big to pick up and eat. Knife and fork. The wings were very tender and had good flavor. The drinks came in large glasses which is amazing. This place looks like it pops of during sporting events. I'm excited to go back for football season and check it out. read more

The issue at most of these locations is never the food - it is always the service. We were forgotten a few times. The tines on my fork were very crazy, server wasn't by for help, eventually flagged down a hostess who was able to help. Server came back over, we asked for boxed. Managed to box left overs, piled the dishes and trash to help - essentially self bussed, and asked for the tab twice. 20 minutes later flagged down someone who looked to be a manager maybe? Less than pleasant, and managed to help other tables before finally coming with the tab. I can't justify it anymore. It's never the food. It's always the service. read more

The wings were great along with the Boudin Balls. The waitress was great. We were craving crawfish and assumed this Tailgators would be as good as the one in the back of The Woodlands. The crawfish came out so insanely salted that they were inedible. A kitchen hand came out to say they may have over seasoned it, but I suspect they cooked the crawfish in the purge salt water by mistake. They offered to rinse the crawfish and we declined since they could not acknowledge the salting. The very next dish - fish bites - came out after our complaint, and they were so -out of this world - incredibly salted, they were also inedible, and it was so strong that we chalked it up to payback for the salt complaint. We packed it up and left without ordering any more food, and will never return to this location. read more

Surprisingly good food for a sports bar and this is a sports bar, make no mistake. 10 billion televisions and a ton of girls waiting on mostly men at the bar and families in the booths. The food ranges from pretty good to really good, you just have to learn the menu. Wings are consistently good, as is the gumbo and the burgers. The service ranges from earnest newbies to dour seasoned pros. With any luck you'll get one of the happy seasoned pros but on my last visit every server behind the bar look like she had just lost a fight with the manager. I really wish I could remember our server's name because she was the sweetest! She had short, dark hair, and she was on the shorter side. She was so gracious and always made sure we were comfortable. As far as good, I had the fried pickles (delicious) followed by chicken and sausage gumbo (more like a stew). Daughter had chicken wings with BBQ flavor. It was more like the frozen chicken nuggets you get from Wal Mart. Not the best. Husband had the boudin balls (cake batter consistency, not a legit boudin ball like in Louisiana). My son enjoyed his mac and cheese. I believe their appetizers and beer keep the place running since it's a sports bar. I hope you all get better food than we had lol. read more

Credit where credit is due and the food, atmosphere and service is very good. However I commented over a week ago that they are overcharging on your bill versus the price stated on the menu they still have not corrected it. I have also raised awareness to my server and the manager 3X in a be last month. At this point I can only assume it is deliberate and they are expecting their consumers to be ignorant of the practice. All I can say is CHECK YOUR BILL. Showed up today to watch football. Got seated and asked the waitress to have someone put on the saints game instead of the women's volleyball. She checked with someone and came back to tell me the owners had not yet purchased nfl ticket but were working on it. Thought they would have it by halftime. Seriously? A sports bar whose owners forgot about the start of football season? Can't rate the food since I didn't stay. Do better folks. read more

We have come here often. This is the second time in a row for the same problem. If you come after 8pm on Monday here's the problem. It's boneless wing night. They pre cook the fries and the chicken. Then they re cook it and they are dry and hard as well as the fries. Making them bad to eat and they taste horrible. We told the waitress and she said "sorry". No worries. Will find somewhere else later evening. We went back a week later and everything was fresh. Completely different experience and we appreciate that. read more

When we dine in The food is always great. If we order to go food, it is almost always wrong or missing an item. Today we order very simple soup and sandwich. The bread is super soggy with oil/butter. There is so much Mayo on it I had to scrape it off. The worst part was the "Loaded baked potato soup". The only thing loaded may have been the cooks because there was zero cheese, zero chives and the tiny bits of bacon in the soup were so small I thought it was pieces of potato peel. I've been sick all day and baked potato soup was the only thing I wanted. For $5.99 for this cup, I would have at the very least appreciated some chives, cheese and enough bacon to be able to tell it is in there. We tip WELL every single time, dine in or to go. It would be great to at least get what we ordered. It seems like the staff although nice, are much more concerned with the crappy tip the last person left, which hot coworker they are on shift with or what manager they are dealing with tonight. Over $24.00 BEFORE tax and tip, have the decency to put the stuff in it as described! read more

Had great service from Makynna and Trinity! Food was great and hot, and the beers were cold.

Take out not too good... always liked food when eating in but after calling in order and more than once asking for extra gravy , go one that was 1/3 full and fries very very salty ! Gumbo will never order again as mostly rice and okra and a few small pieces of chicken and one sausage slice in each bowl.... First the rice should had been put separate as very little sauce all rice... almost 50 dollars for food that unfit to eat read more
