I was actually really excited to try this place after a recommendation from my supervisor, who mentioned they had great crawfish and good deals. It's also conveniently close to home, so it seemed like a win. We went for happy hour on a Friday around 5:45 PM. It's seat-yourself, so we chose a table near the bar. Our waitress (whose name we later learned was Marissa) approached us and immediately asked, "Do y'all know what you want to drink?"--no greeting, no menu, no mention of specials, and no acknowledgment that it might be our first time there. The issue was... we didn't even have menus yet. We told her we weren't ready, and she walked off. After a few minutes of finally getting a look at the menu, we still hadn't been told anything about happy hour. My fiancé ended up going to the bar just to take photos of the beer options. When Marissa returned and asked again about drinks, I explained we had to go to the bar and try to figure out the specials. She simply said "okay" and walked away again. To be honest, the service from her felt rude and uninterested. She seemed rushed and even tapped her fingers on the table at one point while taking our order. Despite us mentioning it was our first time, there was no effort to walk us through the menu or highlight anything. What made it more confusing was that she appeared friendly and engaged with other tables--so I'm not sure what the disconnect was with us. We're always kind and respectful to wait staff, but the lack of basic hospitality made it hard to enjoy the experience. As for the food--unfortunately, it didn't make up for it. The crawfish were bland, and the "dipping sauce" tasted like straight hot sauce. The extras (corn, potatoes, sausage) were minimal--basically one of each, cut in half. The Parmesan wings were also underwhelming, tasting like bland Alfredo sauce with Parmesan on top, though they were at least fried well. There was a shift change, and the other waitresses we interacted with were fine--that's actually how we found out our original server's name. Overall, this was a disappointing first experience. Bar tender was nice food came out wrong order a that came with Texas toast . I asked if they could replace it with a bun waitress told me yes that was possible. When the food came out the burger was still on Texas toast. I asked the waitress what happened she said they ran out of buns. I asked twice and she looked me in eyes and said they had none. I asked if she could go back there and check 5 minutes later came back with a bun. I shook my head drank my old fashioned left the burger and bun paid my ticket with 20% tip and left the food on counter. I will not be back there. I came here twice for crawfish. First time it was an absolute banger. Second time I ordered the same thing and it was alright. So I think they need to work on consistency. The egg rolls were real yummy. The dart game doesn't recognize when you miss the target so that throws off the actual points. Plus when others were playing pool, we had to wait for each other to take turns so we weren't in each other's way. read more

Ahhhh Mazing!!! Pug is always on point. Each and every time I visit. If you've not been, you must go!!! I love the team work amongst the employees here. You need something? Stop the first person you see. They grab what you need without saying let me find your waiter/waitress. My girl Marissa keeps the drinks filled and the can I get you anything coming. I've visited this restaurant several times, and unfortunately my experiences with the manager, Mersa, have consistently been negative. Today was no exception. Around 9:00 a.m., I called the restaurant and listened to the automated recording, which stated they were offering 5 pounds of crawfish for $28. I arrived around 11:00 a.m. with a friend and Mersa was our server. We initially ordered lemonade, but were told the machine was down, so we switched to Sprite and Diet Coke instead which were both offered by her. When the drinks arrived, they were flat and didn't taste right. When I politely asked if we could just have water instead, Mersa seemed visibly annoyed before replacing them. When we were ready to order, I asked for the crawfish special. At that point, Mersa informed us the special only applied with the purchase of a drink and said the phone system hadn't been updated from the previous day. I explained that we had relied on the recording and had actually attempted to order drinks twice, but due to the issues with the drink machine, I asked if the requirement could be waived. She initially refused. Later, I asked to speak with a manager, and she informed me that she was the manager. I again calmly explained that the misinformation on the recording and the drink machine issue were outside of our control and asked if the special could still be honored. She responded aggressively, saying, "I'll just waive the drinks -- I'm already having a rough morning," before walking away. After that, she never returned to our table and assigned another employee to assist us instead. What stood out most was that she was noticeably kind and attentive to other guests while being rude and dismissive toward us from the moment we sat down. The overall experience felt unwelcoming and unprofessional. I hope the owner sees this feedback and addresses the customer service concerns, because experiences like this make customers not want to return. read more

False advertisement. The crawfish pricing on their website should've stated a minimum of 2lbs. It's not stated anywhere online or the menu. I came in tonight and was very rudely dealt with because I called attention to the false advertisement since I only wanted 1lb of crawfish. I was craving the spice and crawfish but can't eat much and my partner wasn't in the mood to share any crawfish with me, he wanted a quesadilla instead. Please tell me why would I pay more for extra food that won't be eaten. That's wasteful. Money and food wise. I was told I had to pay for 2lbs to get any crawfish at all. I simply asked if it was anywhere stated that there was a minimum for crawfish.... My waitress went to get the female manager on duty tonight and she stated it was "stated on the menu" and then walked off with no discussion. This is a lie. It's not stated anywhere. At this point I still didn't even have a menu in hand since service was so slow. I was not given a crawfish menu (which is different than the regular menu) to verify the minimum until a very rude and frankly probably over stimulated (they were busy tonight but I don't feel it's an excuse) male manager came over and handed me one then explained it's NOT on the menu that there's a limit for minimum pounds ordered on crawfish but "they can't charge for only 1lb of crawfish in "the new system"". when I asked how that was my problem or any of my concern, I came because of the advertised 1lb/ $8.99 crawfish, he became very rude and irate. The POS (point of sale) system is none of the costumers concern. The correct way to handle this as a manager would've been to give me 1lb of crawfish, charge me for 2 then add a concession of $8.99 since the establishment advertised for $8.99 per 1lb. I've worked in the service industry for 10+ years, you MUST have critical thinking skills to survive. But instead you were dismissive, didn't even attempt a solution and treated a woman as if she were the issue/ crazy, told me "you can just not eat here then" and walked off mid conversation, and in turn made himself look like a completely under trained and under educated fool. Shame on both managers. But more so shame on the owner for leaving the establishment understaffed, under trained and for not hiring competent management with critical thinking skills. This could be a great spot but due to its poor service and rude staff, which is documented on recent reviews online, I don't see myself or friends ever returning. read more

We had a work Christmas party here and the atmosphere was laid back and a good place to relax after work. The service was excellent and everyone was friendly, helpful and polite. The only issue I had was we were at a place that appeared to specialize in bar food but we had pasta, salad and primarily Italian cuisine. The crawfish was very delicious and perfect size! There were so many that looked like lobsters. The garlic herb butter is a must at first it took me a while to like it but then I really enjoyed it! I'm also so glad they give you seasonings on the side and regular butter, it enhances the flavor a lot if you dip it a little or else it's too salty... the place was alright I wish there was more outdoor seating and our server was nice the service was good I do recommend trying it out! It's a modest establishment with a very simple menu... A niche spot for locals to hang out or grab a late night beer. But, the comfy-casual & laid-back vibe is welcoming. It's my favorite go-to during crawfish season. Everyone has their flavor preferences, but personally I love Pug's not-too-spicy, garlicky, full of citrus, well seasoned boil. It's finger licking good, and I don't have to add anything else. The crawdads are consistently fresh and cooked right, with curled tails and easy to peel shells. Disappointed and Won't Be Back Went to Flying Pug hoping for a good time with crawfish and beer -- ended up with slow service, confusion, and a manager who cared more about technicalities than customer satisfaction. First, it took forever for both the crawfish and beer to come out took about 30-45 for the waiter to come back to tell me they didn't have a beer and did that process twice , and then added corn and sausage (which were supposed to be part of the crawfish order) didn't show up until 30 minutes after the crawfish. By then, the whole experience was off. To make it worse, they charged me for the corn and sausage -- even though they were late and clearly an afterthought. They eventually brought it and said they would comp it because of how long it was going to take to bring it out. When I questioned it when I saw the charge for it , the manager pulled out the menu like a lawyer in court, pointing out a "no refund or remake" policy for crawfish and seafood. Here's the kicker -- apparently corn and sausage is considered "crawfish and seafood," so I guess that policy doesn't even apply ,the manager said because it was consumed they charge for it and the reason for consuming itI was told they would comp it by one of the watiers or food runners that told me that info , but they still wouldn't do anything to make it right. No apology, no accountability. Terrible service, disorganized kitchen, and a management team that hides behind fine print instead of taking care of their customers. The deeper you get in the bowl the better it gets. The SIZE though, by far the best large size I've had since the season started so early this year. Boudin link was good but only ate like 75% of it. One of the best bars around here. Always great service, lots of TVs to watch the games. They show the UFC fights. The food is homemade bar food and I haven't had a bad order on everything I've tried. I highly recommend the egg roles. The ambience is that of a good sports bar with huge draft beer selection. DJ's on the weekends and Wednesday Bingo is so much fun. Bathrooms are small but clean. Restrooms are located outside portal potty bc restaurant's restroom is under construction. Server disappeared for 20 minutes and Multiple others came up and had to check us out. Then we finally saw our waitress again and she was counting her tips at the table in front of us. I was ordering drinks this way because I was waiting for friends to show up at Barnies for Pool. He told me it was Jeff with a smirk like smile. I left, when I got home I called to talk to the manager. Explained the situation. He accused me of having the wrong location as no one works here by the name of Jeff, because all his staff was females. He he had no report of any tabs cut, yet later says he can see why my tab was cut. When no the barback was male so a lie from a Manager. And the male bartender went home early for school. I went in at 12pm on 11/3/24 to do a bit of recon, I ordered a drink and paid for it. I asked who that black barback was I was told his name was Napoleon. So Napoleon lied about his name. Which explains why he didn't want me to talk to a manager or bartender about the supposed cut tab. Upon going in for 1 last drink, I was pulled aside by a Manager and told the owners saw your google review and have banned you from this location. But that drink you can have for free of charge which was a black cherry Truly. I came back inside and informed the Manager that you can't ban someone for a google review that violates the 1st amendment freedom of speech, and that's also retaliation which is an illegal practice. I asked for it in writing that I am banned for a google review and I was denied. The owners are corrupt and I was stop at NOTHING until justice is served!!! Every page with a review section, I will post my experience since you are so afraid of a review and being exposed for breaking my rights and the laws attached to it.
