    Pork belly burnt ends
    JaDaven E.

Unfortunately this place missed the mark for me. The service was painstakingly slow and it was only 3 tables or so there. The food was ok but nothing was memorable. Ordered appetizers and a wine to come with the entrees. Everything came at one time and the wine came like 20 minutes after. Saw my waiter three times, once to take order, (took 10 minutes for that) once to bring my food, and once for my check. Food can be average but service has to be able to make up for it but unfortunately it did not.

Really not my favorite place sadly just blah on all the happy hour drinks and food , the place was beautiful!! but the food was average. the oysters were so small and really fishy . The burger was probably the best thing . The "street corn" isn't that it's corn on the cob . Spinach dip was basic and the chicken sandwich had barley and chicken hahah then the kids chicken was so expensive like $15 lol The drinks as in cocktails were super watery and just not good . Loved the view and our waitress but wouldn't go back. The bathroom also had no toilet paper which was sad for me when i went hahah

Nice restaurant located on a golf course. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Staff was short handed so service wasn't the best as one server was helping our group of 15. Otherwise a nice spot for a quick bite. Has a nice bar also to enjoy. Great for golfers who enjoys food and drinks before and after playing. Nice for couples and family amd friends. If group is 10 or more then expect slow service. Enjoy!

I give this place a 3.5/5! It's part of The Woodlands Resort, which is beautiful by the way. You can sit either inside or outside (with a beautiful view of a golf course and lake). It wasn't super crowded when I went around 7pm and was able to get seated immediately. My waitress was Nicole and she was fantastic! I started off with the lady bug mocktail ($12), which was absolutely delicious. It had fresh blackberries in it! The spicy chicken sandwich ($16) was very tasty. Not super spicy in my opinion, but tasted great nonetheless. The Texas toast it came on was super buttery and delicious. I love a skinny French fry and these were perfectly cooked. If you like ranch, theres is absolutely delicious. I was stuffed by the end of my meal, but was tempted by the dessert menu. The Nutella bread pudding ($10) sounded so yummy, so I took one to go back to my room. I wasn't the biggest fan of the taste of it. The Nutella is only in the center, but would be much better if it was all over. I wish they didn't top it with whole hazelnuts. I did enjoy the cream it was topped with. Overall a super yummy meal!

Based off the amount of good reviews, we gave this place a try recently. While there are plenty of good reviews, I tend to agree with the overall sentiment of the not so good reviews. We left underwhelmed and laughing at our servers final "parting gift". I agree with most, walking in we were impressed with the modern, yet open feel of the eating area. There were good views of the golf course and a nice outdoor area that looks like it would be nice when the fireplace is on. After we sat down someone came over and gave us silverware and a menu. Didn't look up to say hi or introduce herself. Hmm. Then came back with flat water and again, didn't say anything and walked away. Then another server came over and gave us a second set of silverware. Oh well. We started off with a few happy hour bites, the chargrilled oysters and meatballs. Both came out really quick. Though it was obvious after the first oyster they had been sitting for a while. The were barely room temperature so the cheese had hardened. Each oyster picked up like grabbing sausage on day old pizza. Just one big, cold, coagulated piece. Flavors might have been ok if it was hot. The habanero mignonette was so spicy I choked on it initially. This stuff could kill a small dog, I'm surprised this is being served. The meatballs were described with a "bourbon glaze, Serrano aioli and green onions." They came out in a little bowl half filled with some type of bitter liquid. Fairly odd taste/presentation and the meat was painfully overcooked. My main was the blackened redfish. Came with "jalapeño cheddar grits and pickled okra salad". The "grits" had more of a texture of creamed corn that had been sitting for a while and developed a gelatinous texture with way too much jalapeño overpowering any other flavor. Salad was an afterthought. The fish itself was pretty good and cooked well. Though they left the skin on and presented it skin side up. Which is fine if the skin was crispy. Instead it was just soggy fish skin that I put to the side. We noticed that there were only a few seats taken at the bar. Though it seemed no one was getting service and we all had to flag down people to get help ordering. We heard other people having to explain how to make their drinks properly. Definitely got the sense that the 2 bartenders didn't communicate well, nor did they check on any of the customers. Wife had the chicken wings. Again not hot and still had hair and fried chicken giblets on them. Wife ordered a hot coffee dessert drink and the seasonal fruit cobbler crisp. Again, the drink took a while and the bartender eventually apologized that they were figuring out the coffee to put in the drink. Ultimately, while the flavor was good, it was barely warm after waiting 10 + minutes. Cobbler had good flavor though it was mostly a tin of baked apples and dough. More of a cake. There wasn't anything that resembled "crisp" or "cobbler" about it. Unfortunately none of the dishes seemed very composed. Most had strange presentations with overcooked, yet somehow room temperature items. The sauces were weird/mostly inedible, and the items we were served didn't really match what was described on the menu. After I asked for the check I was asked if wanted any more water? I had ordered sparkling water in the beginning and finished it fairly quickly while it sat empty the whole meal. Apparently I had ordered a large bottle of pallegrino. I was never informed I ordered a bottle, it was never used to fill up my glass during the meal, nor was it given to me to fill my glass myself. By this point I was disappointed in the food/service and just wanted to leave. She didn't have a cap to put on the top so she put a quark in it for me to take home. After putting it in the backseat of my car, while backing up, the pressure had built and exploded the bottle of water all over my backseat. At this point all I could do is laugh about the whole experience. Thankfully it was just water. From the bar, we could see plenty of wait staff and hostesses running around. Perhaps the service would have been better in the main area. Unfortunately it was clear the 2 bartenders were out of their element. A couple times we had servers bring us food that was for someone else. While they seemed to be staffed properly, no one seemed to communicate. And the food/preparation had us wondering if the chef called in sick and they were covering for them. Like a yacht chef had been fired and the deckhand with "some experience" was stepping in. We went in hopeful to find a new local spot but there were too many misses to warrant a return trip.

Lobster Mac and cheese and Hanger steak and frites

Came here during our stay at the Woodlands Resort and had a great experience! We sat inside and was a good vibe, but outdoor patio seems fun as well on a beautiful weather day. Service was excellent and we enjoyed the food. I would not get the muffins again as an appetizer but everything else I would. My husband had the hanger steak and frites and they cooked his medium rare to perfection. I had the lobster Mac and cheese and it was divine! Highly suggest the s'mores cheesecake! You can come here even if you aren't staying at the resort!

Steak Frites and fries, which was also very tasty

We had our Valentine's day dinner at Back Table and it was a very pleasant experience. We were greeted with a very friendly staff member and asked if we'd like to stay by the window and yes we did! We were served by Victor and he was wonderful! He was very attentive and also gave us dessert recommendations when we were confused. There was live music playing which made the ambience great! They also had a separate Valentine's day menu which we didn't use but was quite decent. Our food was also quite flavorful and the star of the dinner was our cheese and chicken dip. It was otherworldly! It was our first time at back table since we are still new to The Woodlands, but it definitely won't be the last!

Pretty much Rare. Gordon Ramsey would be very disappointed. Comfy yes, but Convenient? No…read more The Woodlands Resort has so much potential of being a perfect staycation upon driving unto the grounds, but from check in, slowly but surely, you see the extravagant smoke and mirrors of inconvenience that envelops this place. Just checking in is a hassle. Although they advertise in their welcome paraphenanlia that carts are available to take you from the visitor lot to the hotel from 12 to 5, the carts were parked and no one around to drive them. Note- the lot in front of the hotel where you check in is not for overnight parking- you will be towed! After driving around the lot twice, I pulled up and asked the conceirge if I could drop my luggage off while I parked and walked to the hotel. He told me no problem although I was not asked to check it in and get like a ticket to validate my pickup once I parked my car. Luckily, no one else had dropped off their luggage and shifts hadn't changed to have an issue. Check in was a breeze with the typical show me your license and credit card in case of incidentals. Note- They put a $150 hold on your credit card. You're asked if you want 1 or 2 hotel keys which I should have said two because I accidently locked myself out my room night 2 as I had changed bags and picked up the key sleeve without the key in it! That also proved to be quite easy as I just proved my identity through my address and telephone nunber without an id. Although the people were quite nice here, what wasn't so nice was the 2 little bottles of water they give you and no whee to fill them. Sure, get the ice bucket and let the ice melt into water but if you frequently drink water, that will not be enough! You have a little bit of luck when you attend meetings or breakfast in the conference center across the way where they'll have water available. Other than that, those two water bottles per day are all you're going to get! Additionally,, I was extremely disappointed that I found my room the next day not attended to and without water and towels and I had been gone from the room from 9am to 3pm. I called down to front and shared the disatisfaction and in 10 minutes I was given 2 extra bottles besides the two for the day and plenty of towels for my stay (or maybe they didn't want me contacting them again). The scenery of the resort takes away some of the inconveniences of the hotel. If you had to stay here for a conference for several days, you wouldn't feel isolated or enclosed inside since you have to walk outside to get to the conference center, the gym, and breakfast. However, we did have individuals that were present for the event I was attending that had limited mobility. It would have been nice to at least accommodate those individuals. I even helped other attendees carry luggage to their car to the visitor lot because AGAIN no one was driving around carts to assist people in this regard and it was the first weekend that summer had started ,so you know it was hot!!!! Drinks at the bar are slow as molasses with one bartender. The first night I was there, the young lady behind the bar looked so overwhelmed... I didn't even want to order, but someone else was paying for my drink and insisted, so I ordered a lemon drop. I did ask if she knew how to make it and she said yes. It wasn't the worse but not the best. Others in my party stated the same. I did enjoy the gym that had just enough cardio, weight machines, and other aerebic equipment to get a good sweat. Towels and water are in the room along with disinfecting wipes. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of choices. I do love a good omelet and fresh juice bar! You can request a cup of coffee to go too! Certainly if I came here again I would be prepared to have my own water and my walking shoes ready. Pretty location but an hour drive for me using the toll. It's a toss up if I would come back if the organization that organized the conference I attended chose this location for a conference next year.

The resort was very quiet as it was off season but very nice. Check in was fast and friendly- and on that note all the staff were exceptionally friendly! As we were leaving our Uber driver got confused and could not find the entrance so one of the staff members drove off to guide him towards us! The room was big, beautiful and very spacious as well as spotlessly clean! Loved the large balcony and large bathroom with plenty of counter space to get ready! The room was also quiet and very dark which made for a nice sleep! Beautiful grounds, well equipped gym! Great stay!

I had a Hash Brown Benedict, which was really a Bene on a ham and cheese croquet with perfectly cooked eggs. Buffalo chicken with perfectly cooked eggs on top. Amazing and totally different. Drinks were also a fresh take. I had a lemon blueberry margarita. Worth it. Service was outstanding. Friendly, attentive, made you feel like they really cared you came in.

From the jump, the vibe was relaxed but polished--perfect for eating alone without feeling awkward or rushed. The space was bright, clean, and had that easy brunch energy that makes you want to linger just a little longer. The food? Solid. I went the savory route and everything came out hot, well-seasoned, and clearly made with intention. The potatoes were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside (as they should be), and the eggs were fluffy and flavorful without being drowned in nonsense. You can tell this is a kitchen that knows breakfast and doesn't need to show off about it. I also treated myself to a cocktail because... brunch. It was light, refreshing, and balanced--nothing too sweet, nothing too heavy. Basically the kind of drink that makes you sit back and say, "Yeah, I made the right choice today." Service was friendly and attentive without hovering, which I appreciate when I'm dining solo. I had everything I needed, when I needed it, and never felt forgotten. All in all, this was a really enjoyable brunch experience. Great food, good drinks, chill atmosphere. I'd absolutely come back--solo or with company. Sometimes you just need a good plate, a good drink, and your own peace, and Another Broken Egg delivered all three.
