Very nice and light salad. The balsamic vignerette is not overpowering which I enjoyed. Would get again. 4.5/5 Blackened ahi crudo. A little bit on the saltier side but still very enjoyable and tasty. Wonton crisp is nice addition. Good presentation. 5/5 Bourbon brisket & fries. Delicious burger. The brisket was delicious and mouthwatering along with the caramelized onions, and bread was mildly sweet and tasty. 5/5 corneal crusted catfish. Definitely one of the best catfish I've tasted. Y'all don't sleep on Bosscat because it's worth the trip. Tried it today for the first time and ordered off their Houston restaurant week menu and highly recommend. I got the blacked ahi crudo and the cornmeal catfish with sweet chili glaze over mushroom risotto and wow! The crudo came with wonton chips and absolute perfection. Great flavor of citrus, seared tuna, and the right ratio of crudo to wonton chips. My lunch guest got the crawfish hush puppies which weren't as great as the crudo- dry but came with an amazing gravy so definitely soak them up in that, but was lacking crawfish- had to search for them in each hush puppy- trust me, get the crudo. The catfish dish- wow- large serving I had to take home the leftovers. The crispy cornmeal was perfect, the sweet chili glaze wasn't spicy but more like a sweet and sour sauce which sounds odd with catfish but it works! So delicious. And that bed of mushroom risotto- creamy, and with plenty of mushroom pieces, no skimping there and we're not taking about teeny pieces and sparse mushroom in this risotto, good size pieces and plenty! Although it was lunch we also added dessert- the banana foster egg roll, crispy on the outside, great cinnamon flavor, a delicious buttery sauce, so you can pour on top as much to as you like and a soft, sweet, delicious banana filling. Perfect end to the meal on a sweet note. and then also had the black Aji tuna nachos so good lots of flavor some citrus to it. Mushroom risotto amazing. Service: impeccable. Everybody was super nice very helpful and the ambiance was like a sophisticated, relaxed atmosphere focused on comfort and unhurried conversation. We visited Bosscat Kitchen & Libations in The Woodlands for brunch, and overall it was an enjoyable experience with a few noticeable misses. The restaurant is stylish, lively, and comfortable, and our brunch plates were beautifully presented with generous portions. We ordered the Gravy Train and the Wake Up Call. The Gravy Train comes with fresh-baked biscuits, crispy fried chicken, and country gravy. It was hearty and looked great, but the gravy was much spicier than I expected--far too spicy for me to enjoy--and the menu didn't really prepare me for that amount of heat. With the Wake Up Call, the golden toast was delicious, and the bacon was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, the eggs had almost no flavor and definitely needed more seasoning. Our biggest disappointment was the service. It was slow and inattentive, with long stretches between check-ins. We were celebrating a special occasion, so the lack of attention was especially noticeable. Unfortunately, the recurring service complaints I had read in other reviews matched our experience. Still, the atmosphere was enjoyable, the menu was creative, and the good parts of the food were genuinely good. I wouldn't rule Bosscat out--I'd return, order something different, and hope the service team was having a better day. Just don't visit when you're in a hurry. read more

Who's the Bosscat? You, if you got Rosalie D as your waitress. She was awesome. The decor really got the old whiskey bar flair. DJ was spinning tunes inside but we opted for outdoor seating on their covered patio as it was a nice day. I gotta say I had some trepidation given our CM's earlier experiences here. But everything turned out just fine on our visit. First off I love that everything on the menu is under $20. That means we can order more. I was a bit worried that out steak and eggs would be tough because I ordered it medium rare and it came out more medium well. It's even cut already so they should've been able to tell how well done it was. But it was still tender which is actually all I really cared about. The Holy Smoked Benedict is not your traditional eggs Benedict. Instead of ham they have slices of pork belly. And it's served on a crispy biscuit (I could taste the crunch) with potatoes with a poached egg on top just like a regular Benedict. My only comment would be a little too many potatoes for my particular liking, but you can just brush them off. With the money we saved we got the beignets. They come in a sack of 5 and with a Meyer lemon curd on top side for dipping that has a dollop of melted marshmallow cream on top. They aren't traditional beignets but are really small biscuits. They tasted hot and fresh, and were nice and fluffy regardless, which again is all I really cared about. Cold water comes in an old whisky bottle and is left at your table so you can pour as much as you want when you want. I really wish more restaurants did this. The place is also now on the InKind app so make sure you sign in and pay with the app if you do that kind of stuff. Good vibe and great wait staff. We stopped in during Houston's Restaurant Weeks for lunch. The crawfish hushpuppies with cajun gravy was fantastic. A very well earned 5 stars for one of my new favorite restaurants in The Woodlands! I've always been intrigued by Bosscat, but never had the opportunity to visit. My husband surprised me with brunch here last weekend and it was everything I hoped it would be. The vibe is elite. I love the way this restaurant is decorated. It was such a good ambiance & I bet it would be a great date night spot. The food was incredible. I have a favorite restaurant in Las Vegas that makes the most amazing beignets with lemon curd. I can confidently say that Bosscat leveled up and blew that favorite out of the water. If there's one thing you take away from this review, let it be that ordering the beignets is necessary. The toasted marshmallow and lemon they're served with elevate them so much. They're delicious! There were so many things on the menu we'd love to try. Made reservations for 5 30 and there were no close parking because baby girl was sleeping and we didn't want to walk far. Anyhow got here 5 44 because they are very strict with their time and only allow 15 mins grace period so were told the reservation after us may cut into our time at 7 30. Anyhow... got seated right away and our server Simon, who is really helpful, took our drink order and helped me in deciding the best drink for me and also gave me some extra simple syrup because the drink was a little sour (I'll update the name as soon as I remember) also ordered a peach mojito my new fave, peachy. We were given a menu featuring the restaurant week 3 course dinner menu where we chose the sticky shrimp and spinach artichoke eggroll for appetizers. I thought the shrimp would have been spicier as I was told but it was just right! Loved it and the shrimp were atop of some Himalayan rice! So good!! The egg roll was delicious I didn't miss it not being chicken or any other meat. Dinner we chose bourbon butter chicken and the butter burger and fries. Chicken was crispy and seasoned well. With mushroom bourbon sauce drizzled over the mash and crispy spinach. So tasty. The burger went down well and the fries, thick hot and salty, done just right. We also had a side of Mac and cheese which were so creamy and nice. We got the strawberry shortcake but I think it was a little too sweet and I didn't like that it had two biscuits (and not cake) that was an overkill. The topping was just whipped cream strawberry and strawberry puree/syrup. Not much to it. Will go back to try their regular menu and hope to sit outside because the outdoor seating area looks so relaxing and stylish. read more

I was really looking forward to trying this place--my husband and I love whiskey bars, and the decor here is absolutely on point. It has a warm, Texan whiskey lounge vibe that feels both rustic and upscale, which immediately drew us in. We sat at the bar and ordered the House Old Fashioned and Avocado Toast. Unfortunately, both fell short. The Old Fashioned was just okay--nothing memorable--and the avocado toast was extremely plain. For a restaurant, I expected something a bit more elevated; it honestly felt like something I could've easily made at home. We also had some sliders, which were not memorable. What made the experience even more disappointing was the service. Our bartender seemed disinterested and disengaged, which added to the overall lackluster feel of our visit. We really wanted to love this place, but sadly, neither the food, drinks, nor service lived up to the ambiance. It has great potential, but right now, it's more style than substance. read more

Dined here for Mother's Day & it was very lovely. Lots of cute picture opportunities and we were seated at an extremely large table with plenty of space. Only complaint was that my dad was sitting underneath a vent and the a/c kept dripping condensation on our table and on his shoulder so he had to move. Service was great on the other hand. Why 4 stars? Because everything was solidly enjoyable. --- --- --- I had been to the Bosscat in Houston a couple years earlier and just hadn't had the opportunity to visit the newer, much closer to me, location in The Woodlands. But my wife was stalking photos of the brunch menu from social media and was determined for us to check it out in person. I remembered from my visit to the Houston location that I wasn't blown away with the menu options, but when I looked at the brunch menu, I agreed - there were almost too many good choices. The one photo she saw that really got her intrigued was of steak and eggs. I agreed that the steak looked amazing and was determined to order that, but it was listed as a "MKT" price, which happened to be $80. I was not looking to drop that kind of cash on this day, so I settled for the butter burger. It was a high quality, but modestly sized burger. If you just want a simple, classic burger, this is about as good as it gets. I already ate plenty of the pancakes and bacon that we ordered for our son, which I enjoyed plenty, but probably ate too much of and found myself in a food coma for the rest of the day. My wife really enjoyed her country fried steak, but I thought the gravy was a bit too heavy on the pepper. But overall, we really enjoyed the experience and would happily return. read more

Travel Eats: the Woodlands. There for a concert and chose to begin out pre-concert activities at Bosscat Kitchen and what a wonderful choice it turned out to be! We started with cocktails and a happy hour order of spicy Korean fried chicken sliders. The Spicy Korean Fried Chicken Sliders were delicious...not too spicy, but the spice lingers...building for seconds after you've finished the bite. The roll was soft and was the perfect size for the chicken. The slaw served in the sandwich added a great crunchy texture to the bite and served to add a cooling element as well as contributing to the aforementioned building heat after the bite. Since we were going to a concert we knew that taking anything with us (leftovers) was out of the question. So For our entrees my wife and I got a French Dip sandwich and from the "light menu" we got the "Burrata and Bacon Jam". The French Dip was delicious- perfectly seasoned and grilled. We added cheese and grilled mushrooms. A little spread of their horseradish and a quick dunk in the au jus and each bite was splendid. The fries that came with the sandwich were awesome! They were sliced fresh and double fried giving them a perfectly crisp and crunchy outer layer and a moist and fluffy interior- a near perfect t French fry bite! The burrata and bacon jam was a very interesting and delightful dish! Served with pieces of crispy, buttery bread upon which you can spread the jam and cut a piece of the burrata (which is a form of mozzarella cheese) and the resulting bite has such an addictive burst of flavor. This was my first time visiting this location in the Woodlands and like the consistency of service and quality. Ambiance: 4/5 Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, it does get lively as we went on a Saturday, to where it was loud. I think the higher you raise the music, the louder people talk. We got seated next to the window with a beautiful golden hour sun shining through. Place is good for friend meet up, groups, dates or solo. (Make reservations as I did notice that when one table left, it was quickly occupied by the next party. Indicating that there was reservation and a wait.) Food: 4/5 Didn't realize that they were doing Houston Restaurant week and so I opted to order from that menu that consisted of 3 course menu. Course 1: Spinach Artichoke Eggrolls: 4/5 - I enjoy mostly any type of eggroll, they were fresh and hot, but it lacked flavor/seasoning. Course 2: Cowboy Steak: 4/5 - enjoyed the chargrilled style with the cowboy butter, however the butter is what gave the steak it's flavor, alone it didn't really have much of a taste. Along with the course got the Brussel sprouts and their take on mashed potatoes, was the Yukon potatoes served soft but still in the form of the potato. Which I wasn't mad about and liked. I enjoyed all of it together. Course 3: Salted Caramel Brownie: 4/5 - can never go wrong with brownie, but not sure if this brownie was supposed to be hard. While it didn't take away from the taste paired with the salted caramel and ice cream, we had difficulty cutting through it with spoons. We also had the bourbon bread pudding, it was good too, but on flavor, the Salted caramel brownie won. Drinks: 5/5 Pour Decisions: 5/5 - what a treat! If you enjoy gin, and don't want something that isn't too sweet, with the right kick and balance, this was it for me! Dangerously delicious, I would've stuck to getting just this but I wanted to travel the cocktail journey. Nighthawk: 5/5 - it's their house chocolate espresso martini. And my friend who is an avid coffee drinker and espresso martini connoisseur like myself, agreed it's one of the best we've tried. It wasn't too much of anything. It was perfectly balanced to where you tasted the chocolate, the espresso and the vodka. Even if you don't like vodka, you don't taste it, it's more of a subtle butterfly kiss of yes I am boozy and beautifully balanced. If you haven't visited either of their locations, but enjoy whiskey, good food and specialty crafted cocktails, do yourself a favor and drop on in. Tell them Jose sent you, I'm sure they'll look at you puzzled, because I am not an influencer or the owner but they'll just think you're crazy and walk you to your table or have you leave. Came here for a solo brunch date and i was instantly taken back by the area they sat me in. Beautiful big chair in a corner, next to a sort of old timed library themed decor. Secluded, but still open. Anyway, I treated myself to two of the bosscat bellini peach flavored, recommended by my waiter whom was a doll from start to finish.My waiter asked my preference in water and to my delight, she brought out a natural spring water. I tried the spicy chicken and waffle sandwich with two eggs, scrambled. So delicious, so fulfilling. Not one single complaint & she even boxed up my leftovers for me. Came here for a brunch with a few friends. Ambience is very nice, spacious place with some indoor/outdoor dining options as well. Service was very mediocre. The worst part is that they had no hot tea, no decaf coffee, no cappuccino and no latte... how can you offer a brunch and not offer any of that. They just offer regular americano like it's a diner on the side of the road. Food selection is not great at all, no vegetarian or vegan options, all food is very generic and taste again like diner food but you pay like it's a restaurant. We had a wonderful time! I booked the champagne "room" to celebrate a family engagement and it was perfect. We were near the live music which normally is too much but it was wonderful. The artist was fantastic and we'd come back to hear him again and again. Our server, Brandon, was wonderful! He took great care of our party. For my entree I had the spicy rigatoni, which was also good, however I also felt it lacked a little bit of flavor. Without the cheese, it would've felt more lackluster. So, I unfortunately I have to give this location a 3 star. The food was not of good quality. I do prefer the location near the galleria, which I have frequently multiple times. I visited here after since this 2nd location is much closer to me. I do enjoy their Galleria location, but it's a bit of a drive. I sat at the bar for top notch service, and I was getting a drink anyway, so it made sense. I visited during brunch, so they have a limited menu, but still some great items. For a cocktail, I tried The Dream since I've been in a peachy mood. Visually it looks like a tiki cocktail but tastes more like a craft cocktail. It's a spruced-up version of a Pimm's Cup to be exact with plenty of cucumbers floating in the glass. I also tried the Butter Burger, one of 2 burgers they feature on the brunch menu. I subbed American cheese for their split cheddar parmesan and added LTOP. This burger tasted great from start to finish. For me, Bosscat never disappoints with their burgers and makes you realize why this is a great place to visit for just about any reason. read more

Heard their expensive burgers were supposed to be amazing. We got the "Butter Burger" and "Bosscat Burger" - both over $20 each. I was expecting an epic burger, but we got an insanely dry, overdone, crumbly one. The meat lacked flavor on top of it all. They blamed it on us asking for medium well when we know this is a flaw in cooking technique. Really disappointed. Save your $$ and go to Shake Shack instead. NOTE: This place is NOT cheap. Thanks to Houston Restaurant Weeks, it introduced me to this location of Bosscat last year. (Shout out to Alexa, by the way, who was the server in my section then.) I've been to Bosscat's location on Westheimer so I was a bit familiar with the restaurant. I ate here during the first weekend of May 2025. Like last year, I came in to have my pre-concert dinner and drinks. I thought I would go light on this occasion. Lol. The restaurant seemed pretty busy and slightly full. Ambiance was slightly loud probably because it was also Kentucky Derby Saturday. And, oh, I also arrived during Happy Hour. There was no table available, so I didn't mind sitting at the bar since I was the only one. Joe was one of the barmen/servers at the bar. He was friendly, patient, and courteous. My pre-concert drinks were iced tea, water, and a cocktail called "Pour Decisions," which was made with roku gin, sweet vermouth, amaro, citrus, strawberry. Hella good. I realized that my tea was unsweetened so I asked for some sweetener. I had already drank a quarter of the glass when I realized that; I must have been really thirsty. My pre-concert appetizer was fried pickles with a green goddess dipping sauce, after all it was happy hour. I might be wrong about the dipping sauce, though. It could have been a mild and creamy salsa verde. As of the main course, it was a berry salad, which was made with baby spinach, cabbage, mixed berries, almonds, goat cheese, with a berry vinaigrette served on the side. I optioned out the blue cheese, and added steak on. I was happy that the berry vinaigrette wasn't overpowering. Both appetizer and main course were hella good. This restaurant is now on my list of go-to places for pre-concert dinner and drinks. read more

Always, always check the concert schedule at Cynthia Woods Pavilion and plan your visit around that. If you go pre concert, seating is non existent but with skill and a wily attitude you might luck into a seat at the bar. I ate off the HRW menu, enjoying a burrata and bacon jam combination, followed by a pork chop and caci and Pepe orzo and a lemon blueberry tart. I added an order of pig candy as my love of pork belly required. That pig candy! So good. Perfectly cooked and seated on a soy based sauce this was delicious. My husband took me here for my birthday, and we had the best experience possible. Earth Wind and Fire was performing at Cynthia Woods, so Market Street was PACKED - as was this place. (I cannot recommend making a reservation enough.) We were seated by a large window away from the crowd (but optimal for people watching). Our waitress went above and beyond to ensure my gluten-free needs were met. She felt horrible about the cross-contamination risk with the potato chips - after they brought them to our table (I fortunately didn't get sick). We ended up spitting the steak with green beans and added mashed potatoes. They were the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. For dessert, they would make banana pudding without the cookies. My heavens. Also a delight. There's toasted coconut on top, and the whipped cream was 10000% homemade. The decor is super cute and prohibition-esque, and I'm sure it's not always quite as loud as when there's a concert nearby. read more

And on Wednesday, before attending the The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion concert by Sting in The Woodlands, a friend and I decided to have dinner at Bosscat Kitchen & Libations. What we imagined would be a pleasant and enjoyable evening somehow became one of the most uncomfortable dining experiences we have ever had -- largely thanks to Brianna Q. Brianna Q was remarkably rude, dismissive, argumentative, and entirely lacking in empathy. We had a 15 people group work lunch which was handled really well. Service was excellent and they constantly refilled our waters and checked on us. However, the best part was the food. I got to try several appetizers and I loved the candy pig which came with kimchi (not too vinegary), the hush puppies and the corn creme brulee which my coworker shared with me. Houston restaurant week was also going on at the same time. Their lunch portion was really generous for 2 courses. I got the dirty rice egg rolls which tasted more like boudon in an egg roll wrapper (would not recommend). The Bourbon chicken was really on point though, since it was more lightly pan fried, tender and came with creamy mashed potatoes. The restaurant wasn't crowded either and had a pleasant atmosphere and clean bathrooms. Overall, a great experience. read more

Went to bosscat for the first time this weekend and it was great! Got sat right away for brunch/lunch on a Sunday. It's kind of hidden within market street but definitely worth a try! We tried the chilaquiles which were AMAZING as well as the chile verde burrito which was great too! Servers were all very nice and helpful, will definitely be returning. read more

Bosscat is fabulous! Love the casual fun atmosphere. I chose the Wouldn't You cocktail. It has a sweet cucumber taste. Now we chose to share several dishes. The mushroom fries were amazing! Note that that's not French fries either mushroom, it is mushrooms! The spinach and artichoke egg rolls were our favorite! Loved the blue cheese with the maple buttered Brussels. And the grilled cheese hit the spot! David was the BEST! We finished our meal with the banana pudding and coffee! read more
