I have been here many times, and this visit was by far the worst. My taco salad lacked both presentation and effort . It was basically shredded lettuce on a plate with chicken and cheese. The waitress was amazing, but clearly overworked. It took about 15 minutes for her to circle back because she had too many tables to manage. The manager came over to introduce herself, but once she saw us, she quickly walked away. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. read more

Came here on a Saturday with a group for lunch and place was pretty crowded. However we were able to get seated right away - outside patio though but they have fans that cooled the area. Service was quick and friendly and food was reasonably priced. Margs came in huge glasses! I recommend the puffy tacos and mango margaritas. Salsa that came with chips were good as well. Everyone was happy with their choices and would definitely come back when in the mood for Tex Mex. read more

Love the new Lupe Tortilla in Montgomery! Is it sacrilegious to say it is the best Tex Mex in the area? Every time I have been the food and drinks have been outstanding. Even the chips, salsa and beans are good. The servers and bar staff are all very friendly, attentive and want to make sure everything exceeds expectations. I also love the bright, colorful atmosphere. The only minor negative is the outside dining area faces onto 105 and is very noisy. read more

The food at Lupe Tortilla was great, but the service left something to be desired. Our waiter, Matthew, was not particularly helpful. When I asked whether the salsa was mild, medium, or hot, he couldn't give me an answer. Worse, when my daughter asked about the chalupa and whether it was something you pick up or eat with a fork, he dismissively said, "I don't know how you'd eat it!!"--not exactly the friendly service we were expecting. That said, the cocktails were great and the food itself was solid. The chips were fresh, and the ala carte tamale was flavorful, though it was the smallest tamale I've ever seen! The kids enjoyed their mac and cheese and chicken strips, which is always a plus. If the service had been better, this would have easily been a five-star experience. The saving grace: William, a manager, came by to ask how our experience was and was very receptive to my feedback. Having been a server before, I really am hoping the feedback changes his attitude! Amazing experience!! It was great from the moment we walked in. The food is fresh and delicious. The kitchen manager came out and so did the restaurant manager to ask how our food was. They gave us a free sample of fajitas and they melted in our mouths-SO GOOD!! The guacamole was the freshest I've ever had at ANY restaurant--simply delicious!! The staff is incredible. First off, wth does our area need with chain Mexican food when 105 is blanketed in superior and authentic Tex-Mex?! Ugh! I got dragged here by my sister and everything was just so darn mid. From the margarita to the fajitas to food temp to the service, just no! Why anyone would choose to spend their time and money on this, the "Denny's of Tex Mex", is beyond me. We've been dining at Lupe's since back when their only (original) location was Hwy6 & I-10, late 70's I'd guess... Over time we had some inconsistencies service wise from time to time but the food has been reliably consistent. For whatever the reason, this location bucks that trend in that the food is not quite up to par. Decent, not great. As an example, most recently my wife ordered dinner and the tortillas that were delivered were hard/kinda crispy as if they'd been allowed to cool/around for while. No biggie, she let our waitress know and requested that they be swapped for "fresh". A few moments later they were re-delivered but, were exactly the same. Not warm, not soft, not "rollable". Simple thing, really inexcusable. My Chicken Lupe, a dish I've dozens of times at at-least a half dozen locations, wasn't quite the norm. If elsewhere it's a 10 here, or at least on this occasion, it's a 7. Chicken kinda dry, not juicy like it typically is. This is the most convenient location for us. We'll probably give it another try in the future but if it doesn't improve, enjoy our Lupe's, less frequently and at a location, most any location but further from home. read more

No silverware, no kids menus, no hand soap in women's restroom, hostess did not know how to seat tables. when we did finally get silverware the napkins were wet. They were out of plastic ware as well. 4 people standing around the hostess area not doing a thing. Tables were not being cleaned, ordered beef enchiladas and got fajita meat enchiladas. Asked to see a manager, waiter said she was busy. Horrible customer experience! read more

Lupe Tortilla in Montgomery is my favorite restaurant--no question. The food is always incredible, the vibes are great, and the service never disappoints. There's one server in particular who truly stands out- Landen. He's consistently friendly, attentive, and makes every visit feel special. You can tell he takes pride in what he does, and it makes all the difference. If you go, definitely ask for him--you'll be in great hands. And while you're there, I highly recommend the cedar plank salmon or the salmon tacos. Both pair great with the mango or strawberry margaritas on the rocks. I think there are better Tex-Mex places out there. Went in on a busy Wednesday night and there were lots of customers inside.Lots of seating throughout the restaurant. Pros: The service we got was very attentive and personalized. The charro bean sauce (?) for the chips was yummy. The portions were not bad. Cons: We found it a little expensive for the quality of food. Ordered shrimp fajitas and they were somewhat burnt The tortillas were dry and crispy (falling apart?), not sure how fresh they were. I had Lupe Tortilla in Montgomery Tx cater my son and daughter in-law's rehearsal dinner at the end of March 2026, and the food and service was superb. Peyton was the young lady that came out and set up the serving line and food and she was amazing. Our guest were very complimentary of the food, as it was delicious. The pricing was excellent and the setup from start to finish was more than I expected. Thank you to each person that made our night a success, but a special thanks to Kate and Peyton. Wow, this place is awful. 30 minutes from sit down to drinks arriving. Ordered queso, but it took so long to arrive, we finished our chips. Once the queso arrived, I had to ask THREE times for more chips and by the time they arrived the queso was cold. One full hour to get our food. My chicken fajitas weren't sizzling at all, but the fluffy corn tortillas made up for it. Another 15 mins to get a togo box and another 15 to get our check. You are so good during slower times like lunch times and the food is good but this location CAN NOT handle busy times. It's the worst I have ever experienced in any restaurant. I've had bad experiences here 5 times now. The last time was just trying to place a to go order and no one will take the order. When asked to speak to a manager we got hung up on. We called 5 times trying to place a simple to go order at 5 o clock on a Saturday. Waited on hold 6 separate times to place the to go order and then they said An hour wait for just an order of queso? My husband and I traveled from Conroe, skipping our usual trip to the location in the Woodlands to give this new location in Montgomery a try. We had heard they had an issue with service initially and were hoping that was resolved and we'd have a good experience. We were seated promptly and sat and waited for our server. And waited and waited. Servers passed our table, glanced at us, and passed us by. 15 minutes later we'd still not been acknowledged and got up and left. The restaurant was far from busy, maybe as many as 15 others seated when we arrived. We will not be back, so disappointing as we know this chain well. Customers should not be made to wait 45+ minutes for a table on a Monday night, when there is plenty of seating open inside and outside. We had a problem checking in via app where we were not properly checked in and had to excessively wait but when it came out we were immediately given priority seating and made right. The ambiance and setting in every restaurant is good. Very happy despite having to wait longer than should. You can tell everything's made fresh, even the sides. Service is always on point too. Friendly, fast, and they actually pay attention. Service - staff are very friendly, pleasant and inviting as soon as you walk in the door. The wait was shorter than we were told. Food - absolutely NO complaints. Crispy tacos (because I am basic) were simple but visually pleasing and tasted very fresh, exactly what I was hoping for. Stop in mid afternoon. Order was messed up, I asked for ground beef enchiladas on my combination plate but received braised beef. I let that go. Charro beans served with the chips were very good. On the menu, the Pablo Patron combination plate we ordered included guacamole salad but when our food arrived it was missing. While waiting for our waitress to check back, the manager/chef came by to ask us how the food was and I told him we didn't get our guacamole salad. He said that it is not served with what we ordered. I said, no I think it is. He said "Maybe at other locations but not this one." On a Thursday night, no one in the restaurant waited an hour for a table while I watched five servers and hostesses stand around and chat with their cell phones for 30 minutes. It was beyond anything I have ever seen in a restaurant. Tables full of glasses needed to be cleared. I hope an owner or manager sees this because I couldn't find one to tell. We arrived for dinner around 7:45 excited to enjoy dinner with friends. Our waitress, Peyton was great; our experience was not her fault. We ordered guacamole- Peyton came back several minutes later letting us know that they were out of guacamole. Then we ordered dinner only to find out that they were out of rice and beans.
