My husband had been wanting to try Mi Rancho for dinner, and I'm so glad we finally did. We visited the Woodlands/Gosling location, and it was absolutely worth the 30-minute drive. The restaurant is stunning, with high ceilings and décor that perfectly complements the Mexican cuisine and atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, inviting, and friendly. We went on a Tuesday evening, and there was no wait. It was nice to see families and couples all enjoying their meals. There's also bar seating with what appeared to be a great selection of liquor. I also have to mention how spotless the restaurant was, including the ladies' room. I started with a house margarita, and both the presentation and flavor were excellent. Now, let's talk about the food. The salsa was incredible--fresh with the perfect balance of onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and heat. We honestly couldn't stop eating it. The queso was smooth, flavorful, and exactly how good queso should taste. I ordered the jumbo beef fajita street tacos with rice and charro beans. They definitely weren't exaggerating about the "jumbo" part because the three tacos were loaded with perfectly seasoned, tender fajita meat wrapped in homemade tortillas and topped with fresh avocado slices. They came with a side of verde salsa, and although I'm usually not a fan of verde sauce, this one completely changed my mind. I could taste roasted peppers and hints of lime that gave it the perfect spicy kick to complement the tacos. Even the rice was cooked perfectly--light, fluffy, and well-seasoned. The charro beans were just as impressive, packed with flavor from the seasoned broth to the perfectly cooked beans. My husband ordered Ary's Salad, which was far from your typical boring salad. It was more like a bowl full of deliciousness. Along with the usual salad ingredients, it included roasted corn, diced chicken diablo, and avocado ranch dressing. My husband thoroughly enjoyed it--and he's definitely not a salad person. He said the highlight was the chicken diablo, which is bacon-wrapped chicken. Mi Rancho is such a great Tex-Mex spot! The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and the staff is attentive. Definitely try the salsa molcajete -- it's amazing, but extremely spicy! I also highly recommend the fajita chimichanga. The fajitas were searing when brought to the table! Tender, flavorful, and on a bed a grilled onions! Drinks: Their michelada mix with a cold modelo or Pacifico is a must! Also had their large house frozen topped with a shot a grand marnier which makes it that much enjoyable! First time visit at this location. As I usually go the location by my apt . Brand new and opened a couple months ago. Sorry no pics as it was busy and I don't like taking pics with a lot of people around. This place is decorated really nice at entrance and looks fresh and modern. Really looks great. Food and drinks are pretty much the same as my other normal location. Ordered the Sour Cream enchiladas, beef fajitas for 1 and pechuga Shrimp all food was excellent and we got a flan and shared. Service was great but we went early at 5:45 place was 1/3 full but once 6-6:20 then the place started filling up. Good for family and groups and has a nice bar area too. Shared parking lot with plenty of parking. Will return again. read more

Came her last Sunday with my parents. We all absolutely adore Mi Rancho, and we're super excited to try this new location. First of all- it's beautiful!! We were all super impressed with the decor and overall layout. My dad even commented on how clean and pretty the restrooms were lol. I had my two favorite things on their menu- the Tapas Trio and a jumbo frozen watermelon margarita. Everything was lovely and we all finished every bite of food. We also decided to end on a sweet note with their sopapillas which were delicious. It's so nice to have this extra location in the area. The Good The Bad The Ugly. Really a nice build out for this restaurant. I like the layout, it is spacious and well appointed. Clean and nicely done. They seemed to have too many inexperienced people. Seemingly confused who was waiting on which table. I did not like the pricing as it was a surprise. If you are on a budget make sure you are being explained about changes in menu pricing. For example a child's plate fajita was one price but then when I got the bill I read I was charged two dollars for "being over 12." When asking for charo beans I was surprised to learn when I got the bill that charo were one dollar extra than refried. I felt pressured to up charge the standard margarita that was $17.00 for the house liquor. Not a repeat and a fair amount disappointment. No bueno! read more

This new, custom built Mi Rancho location is now open in our neighborhood. The official name is Mi Rancho--Woodlands, but it's a bit south of there bordering the Northampton neighborhood. For an appetizer we got the corn ribs, a new item since the last time we've been to a Mi Rancho. These are absolutely amazing, a must try if you like corn at all. They take an ear of corn and split it four ways so the corn is still on the cob. It's then fried and dipped in butter sauce and garnished with Cotija cheese, and served with tajin mayo. I ate way too many. I also ate too many chips with the salsa, which is served warm. I think it's now one of the better salsas around, nice big chunks of onion and tomato. For our entrees we got the chile relleno with beef fajita meat and the El Valiente combo plate with chicken. The El Valiente is a stuffed and fried avocado and a cheese enchilada. The avocado was great--the coating was crisp and tasty, adding a nice texture to the creamy avocado, cheese and chicken inside. The chile relleno was very good--the fajita meat was flavorful and tender. The green bell pepper was a bit firm, didn't cut with my fork too well, but was very tasty. The rice was also very good, nice flavor. Beans were fine. I chased my food with a jamaica agua fresca. Theirs is nice and strong. The server brought an extra glass of ice so I could cut it, which was very helpful. We wanted to get the tres leches cake for dessert, but they unfortunately were out so we ended up passing on dessert. Our server was friendly and fun. Our drink server deserves special mention. She was very attentive and observant. We were next to a baby at the stage where they throw things on the floor, including a china plate. She was on it very quickly with a cleanup team. The setting is very attractive. Bright, appetizing colors and high ceilings set the mood. It's less noisy than their Spring location, still pretty loud on a busy evening but overall very nice. The bathrooms were clean and ready, one soap dispenser was out but not bad for a very busy evening. Overall I'm going to give it a 4.5 and round up. read more

This was our first time visiting, and we were a bit disappointed with the experience. I came in hoping to relax and enjoy a meal, but we felt rushed when placing our order. After our food came out, it was hard to get any assistance--we waited quite a while, had to flag someone down for a to-go box, and never received our check. After waiting even longer, we ended up going to the front to pay since no one came back. Overall, it didn't feel like the kind of experience you hope for when dining out, and it left us wishing we had chosen somewhere else. Very good review. Large parking lot, easy to access, normal traffic patterns easy to get to. Very large impressive inside dinning area. I did not notice an outdoor area, but that does not matter to me. TV's in viewable places, noise level average. Bar area a bit small, but clean and available. Food was very delicious. The chips and queso was hot and fresh. The salsa was good. I would say it was on the mild side. Some like hot others like mild so each opinion will be different. The place was very clean, very big and very new, it had just recently opened. Service and menus were good. Waitress seemed attentive, polite, well spoken. She did an excellent job. The bonus was Santa being there. Such a delight to see. My best description would be like a higher class Gringo's. They did a fantastic job. Wow...so really you should tell your customers that you are open til 9:00 but don't come "close to that time" or you will be treated poorly and rushed. If you want to close the restaurant at exactly 9...tell your customers you close at 8 to avoid this unpleasant experience. It really seems as though you are "excusing" this type of treatment because we came in too late...close to closing, but still during your posted hours of operation. We were compliant when you staff told us we need to order quickly. We even ate quickly and were out of the restaurant by 9:10...but not after seemingly being "targeted". So you are saying that the music was turned up to "BLARING LEVELS" because work was being done in the kitchen???? OK??? Your response seems to "not take accountability for poor treatment". Your statement, "While your party did arrive shortly before closing time, we still want every guest to feel welcomed and treated with hospitality", this did not happen and you seem to be excusing the treatment (Ie: working in the kitchen, coming in too late. Honestly, you should deny anyone else even coming in to your restaurant before 8:45 or maybe even 8:30 or 8:00 if this is the treatment you provide and then make excuse for. We were so happy Mi Rancho opened this location. It's very close to home. The restaurant is very nice. We love Mi Ranco's food! We've been there 4 times since they opened and although there is a lot of staff working, all 4 times the service was slow because the staff was standing around talking. We've decided today that was our last time eating at this location. The next time we're craving Mexican food, we'll go back to Shenandoah where the service is great! read more

I've been to the new Woodland location on Gosling 3 times now, and zero complaints so far. It's honestly my new favorite Tex-mex spot. I'm mostly a red meat eater, so can't say much about their chicken. But so far I've tried beef fajitas, chipotle beef fajitas, and beef fajita enchiladas. Their fajitas were easily in my top 3 favorites I've ever had, I would put the enchiladas close to the top also. Service was excellent from start to finish, great portion sizes. But most of all, their salsa was amazing. I know some of us are picky salsa eaters, and this one was the best I've ever had at a restaurant or that I've made at home. Not too hot or cold, not too much heat, and great flavor. The interior and the ambiance are excellent also. I haven't enjoyed a new restaurant this much in a long time. My only potential negative might be where it's located, that particular stretch of gosling between woodlands pkwy and 99 isn't a common spot for restaurants for most of TW, but that area is growing quick and I'm sure they'll be just fine. If you're in Creekside, Newhampton or Augusta Woods area, it's perfect! read more

The young ladies working in the front desk and even the one that took us to our table didn't seem friendly. Unfortunately my daughter and I came here with a friend who wanted to try the new location and we could not find one item on the menu to eat!! I have Celiac Disease and normally find Mexican restaurants quite accommodating. However here they basically told me nothing was Gluten Free. Even the corn chips were cross contaminated in the same fryer as Gluten products!! All the meats used gluten in their seasonings!! I often find rice is something I cannot have but find they will offer me plain white rice as an alternative. Not here. I know food allergies can be difficult but to not be able one thing was extremely disappointing. read more
