What a cute and cozy place! My husband and I were in town for a meeting so we stopped in at the Cozy Grape for brunch before heading back home. We were warmly greeted and sat immediately. We ordered off the brunch menu, though they offered a full lunch menu as well. But first--we enjoyed a bottle of champagne for our cranberry mimosas. Yum! Our lovely server brought out mixed fruit to enjoy with our champagne as well. Our meals were delicious! We couldn't have been happier with our food and overall experience. Tried this out, had high expectations, and was severely disappointed. But first-the staff is very courteous and attentive! Really appreciated the service provided. Now, the food. Tomato basil soup was good, Cesar salad was fine, but ordered cheese sticks. They came out rushed-not fully cooked, with a ranch that tasted bad, and a marinara provided upon request. They were awful, to put it plainly. We each ordered the filet mignon, mine was medium my husband's medium well - they both came out more medium rare than what we ordered. It took a lot longer to come out then it should have. The red wine sauce and mushrooms were done poorly, leaving the steak tasting like it was expired. There was no seasoning to speak of being the wine and mushrooms on top. We will not be returning. Husband paid for everything - we shouldn't have paid for the meals or the appetizer with how poorly that food was cooked. read more

I like this place very well. This was our first time, but our waiter made us feel like we live there. It was amazing. I liked how the restaurant looked overall, the lightning was nice and calm inside, and outside was perfect for the weather. I tried the Tuscany Pinani and the cozy cheese steak sliders, I highly recommend the Tuscany Pinani, it was a perfectly crisped bread with a meat, (I think it was grilled chicken or a Italian meat) with a spread of black olives. read more

It was such a beautiful cozy, a little chilly perfect outdoor seating on this just perfect Nov day. We were walking up to the car and came across this restaurant, not sure it was open we took a chance and went inside and the scenery completely changed- it was quite where the diners were seated, and we wanted outdoor seating so had to pass the kitchen which is full of hustle and bustle. Jack helped us with our orders. We wanted the soup but were informed that the base for all soups is chicken broth, then we settled for the salad, the pasta and one cozy Paloma drink. Salad was simple but fresh. It was very yummy still light. It was called ' Name This Salad', seriously..... I asked if we get a prize for naming it and was assured that it already had a name ..... :) Appetizer was La Baguette. It came as described, it can be replicated at home, only if u can get bread as fresh. Again, light but delicious. The main entree was Pasta Prima Vera, which was Capellini pasta in light pesto with sautéed vegetables. This had no salt whatsoever, am wondering if it was intentional or by mistake, but there was salt on table so we were good. If you are a vegetarian, I have just read you their entire menu :). Overall, a small country feeling with fresh ingredients and though limited choices glad we had choices and it was all really delicious. A friend and I went Saturday and the food was amazing. We got the Goat cheese pizza for an appetizer and it was so delicious. I got the chicken enchiladas they were so good, best I've ever had actually. My friend got the chicken sandwich and she said it was delicious as well and their bun for the sandwich was so soft. This place was amazing. Right around the corner from our BnB, so we walked. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and the food was amazing! We shared the escargot as an appetizer. The flavor was awesome! I'm gluten-free so couldn't enjoy the baguette but the escargot was excellent. So hot, buttery and garlicky. I ordered the tuna emtree and hubs the salmon. Both were excellent but we ended up switching because we liked the others better. This was the beat salmon I have ever had! Buttery and flaky. Absolutely melted in your mouth! The tuna was excellent too. I ordered medium rare and they cooked it perfectly! Loved the chimichurri sauce! Finished with a creme brulee. Also the best I've ever had! We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Sat on the patio (I know... in August but it was a great day). I ordered the Cozy Crape Salad with the grilled chicken. Trust me when I say that was A LOT of chicken! Hubby ordered the Tostadas. Now that was a full meal and all fresh ingredients. So tasty! I ordered a Bloody Mary, so fresh tasting. Hubby got the Bombshell Blonde from Southern Star Brewery. The service was that of a 4 or 5 star restaurant. Well, it was Excellent service up until food was delivered and then he disappeared. We are there on a Friday night in the 21-only section upstairs and waitress seemed put out having to wait on folks from out of town. The crab cakes sucked. No, I am a paying customers that has now on several occasions made the mistake of walking into your establishment. The first time was many years ago and I gave you a bad review. The situation with your manager was the worse experience I have ever had in a restaurant. We were treated horribly. An attempt was made to discuss the situation with you but, you refused to talk to us. I have learned over the years from neighbors and other local establishments, that you have a reputation of treating customers horribly. The reason for this second post is because I mistakenly was told the restaurant had new owners. So friends convinced me to try it again. Upon arriving it quickly became apparent that ownership is the same. So we walked out. The server was not happy with our decision and was a bit upset when we left. No hate in the heart, just a decision to remind people there are much better options in the area. The cost of eating out is expensive these days. WOWEEE rudest customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. I say customer experience because we were planning on going to have wine and food inside after a photo shoot. Unfortunately as we walked to the cars afterwards a man claiming to be the owner starts screaming at us because we parked our cars at his restaurant. The man followed us and filmed us yelling insults. Way to be hospitable to almost paying customer. Great way to drive customers away from an already dying business. We went on a Thursday evening and had great service from the hostess to our waitress. They were not crowded so we got to choose our table on the outside patio which was also great. We tried both items on the Thursday Evening Specials: *Pork Tenderloin Rollentini-served with mashed potatoes, topped with white wine cream sauce over grilled asparagus *Pollo Romano-tenderized chicken breast, dredged in Pe- corino Romano cheese & flour, baked & served over mashed potatoes & asparagus, topped with lemon butter sauce We both preferred the Chicken over the Pork dish. I am visiting from Las Vegas and my friend who lives in Montgomery brought me here~ while i will admit i figured we'd have an OK dinner, catch up and that would be fine~ MAN O MAN! was I surprised we started with crab & spinach stuffed mushroom caps appetizer with some kind of white sauce served 4 per order these were some kind of DEEELISSSH Our main course with both chose the grouper served on a bed of risotto & grilled vegetables~ ANOTHER GRADE SLAM OF DELICIOUSNESS, soooo flipping good The grouper was grilled perfectly (my fear is undercooked fish I despise sushi) served a beautiful golden tan and the risotto could have included Parmesan ~ not really sure however it was a positive addition opposed to pasta noodles or traditional rice FOR SURE! the grilled vegetables were green & yellow squash w/red bell pepper & onion, nothing fancy here however cooked perfectly still maintaining some texture plus some nice color added to the plating. No dessert which in hide site was a BIG mistake as based on our meals the Tres Leche cake probably would have be FAB....but we had a huge liter bottle of Caymus Cab, which we ended up bring atleast half back to her place. The ambiance here is classic Texas (a bit upscale saloon) add a french bistro twist and your in Montgomery @ Cozy Grape Vine Bistro. Our server was a nice kid (yes, i mean kid most likely his first job, as he seemed a bit unsure of himself & on pronunciation on certain menu items plus didn't know about dare i say upscale dining?) I am only giving one star because I can't give 0. I have only ever written one review before, so taking the time to write this out and post it means it is important this reaches other potential customers. My family just moved to the area and wanted to celebrate our new adventure with a nice dinner. We had driven past this restaurant in the multiple target/Home Depot/etc runs since moving in a week ago and decided we wanted to go to a nice dinner for our first Saturday as Texans. We have a one year old daughter, so we arrived at the restaurant at 420pm. Early enough to miss the dinner rush. The restaurant was empty at this point. Just us and one or two other tables. As we walked in a nice young man sat us at a four top and we asked for a high chair. He grabbed a high chair from another table and as he was placing it at our table a woman (possibly the owner or manager) said we couldn't use it as a group had made a reservation with a highchair. We understood that, we said we'd have our daughter sit on our laps or in a chair. Then, the woman proceeded to talk to the young man telling him he should move us to a two top (we were already seated at this point and would have had to get up and move). She decided it was early enough for us to stay at the four top, so we sat down. The young man offered us a booster seat, which we accepted and appreciated. We sat down and had a pleasant and kind server. We ordered a bottle of wine, an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert. Our daughter is 1, so she isn't a complete saint but she sat as nicely as one would expect a one year old to sit on a parent's lap and in a booster seat without a seatbelt. She ate chicken, drank water, and colored on a napkin (which the woman at the front did provide after she realized she rudely asked us to move after we were already seated). As we were finishing our dessert (it was now about 545pm and the dinner rush was starting to trickle in), a waiter took down a decorative chalk sign and returned a few minutes later with the same sign, but a new message. He hung this sign directly above our table. *See picture* - it reads "we love children. We really do. BUT. We are a wine bar and bistro. We have no booster seats nor high chairs or a children's menu. As a courtesy to other diners, please be mindful of others so that all of our customers have a great dining experience." I have never felt so singled out, embarrassed, disrespected, and unwelcome. We understand that some restaurants do not allow children, which is fine. If we would have walked in and been told children were not allowed, we would have walked right back out. But to allow us to eat and spend our money, then hang this sign right over our head as we were still eating. It was uncalled for and disrespectful. We did everything we could to enjoy a nice dinner and respect others (arrived before the rush, brought snacks and toys to occupy our daughter,etc). We won't be back and I would hope this establishment doesn't make another family feel this way. What is a family supposed to do when they are seated at a table and then look up to see this sign? Walk out? Muzzle their child? Food for thought. read more

Wow! What an AMAZING dinner! The Restraunt is stunning & clean!! Jack our Server was not only professional, but NAILED our order, food came out presented beautifully, steaming hot and DELICIOUS. I had the Lamb Shank and it's probably one of the BEST Lamb Shanks I've had since I was in San Francisco. My husband had the NY Steak with baked potato & Brussel sprouts - very Happy Man lol. He also loved his Manhattan. Ambiance is very welcoming but private should you be on a dinner date with your Sweetie, BUT also perfect for larger groups as many came in while we were dining and it was still very intimate. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE COZY GRAPE WINE BAR & BISTRO. I'm not sure why they call it a Bistro when we feel the service & food level is definitely a solid 4+ Star Restraunt. We had a wonderful experience the first time we dined in this weekend! We have been looking for a wine bar close to home, and we're hoping this would be our place. We didn't find a wine bar but we did find a great restaurant! We asked for a tasting that was mentioned on the menu but it didn't seem that this is something they normally do, so we just opted for a bottle that we hoped would be good - which it was. The specials were the romano chicken and the grouper, so we ordered one of each to share. We started with the apple and blue cheese crostinis, which write a bit disappointing, the crostinis were too crispy, the blue cheese was overpowering, but the apples and honey were delicious. Our entrees though we're the standouts! The chicken was lightly breaded with a delicious light lemon sauce, the mashed potatoes were whipped with skins, and the asparagus was cooked well. The grouper was very lightly breaded but cooked perfectly, the risotto was creamy, and both dishes were just very satisfying. The strawberry crepes were full of fresh ripe strawberries, chocolate, nutella, w with whipped cream and ice cream to top it off. A great end to a delicious meal. We didn't have a reservation, but would recommend one on Friday evenings. The prices were very reasonable, we will definitely be back often! read more

Horrible customer service by owner. Would not recommend to anyone. Didn't even make it to our seat after being told we were not allowed to look at the store next door first prior to eating. Owner came out of restaurant and told us we could not park in the lot. After we told him we wanted to see the shop next door first then come back he said no we could not we had to eat first. He's missing a major marketing opportunity by losing potential customers with a horrible attitude and stalking the parking lot. Very creepy and classless approach. read more

At one point they did lower the lights to the point were our seats behind a partition got very dark to eat. We asked if they could raise the lights just a bit so we could see our food. I wanted to like Cozy Grape, but the experience was disappointing. The owner, Tom, is extremely rude and seems more focused on policing the parking lot than creating a welcoming atmosphere. He'll sit and watch the cameras or even hire someone to monitor the lot just to catch people parking without eating there, and then call the cops on them. While other businesses in the area get along, this place literally stands out for its hostility towards both customers and neighbors. The food might be decent if that, but the unwelcoming attitude makes it hard to enjoy for anyone. I won't be back and certainly wouldn't recommend to anyone! I use to enjoy the Cozy Grape. But today I called three or for times trying to let them know I had to cancel a reservation. I were hearing aids and I have to link them to my phone. Each time I called, whoever answered would say "I can't hear you ". Which is interesting because I could barely in understand the person through his accent. But, this person is the same one who took my reservation yesterday while speaking through my hearing aids. I raised my voice thinking he would hear. Apparently I was wrong because he would say he would interrupt me saying he cant me and then hang up. I will never go there again and I will tell all of my friends, contacts, and social media followers about how I was treated and advocate not to go there. read more
