An evening at Cork This Tap That is fun! We started out on a Friday night to listen to music and have dinner and the place was jammed. The owner apologized saying that no business owner wants to turn away business but it would be a long wait. We went elsewhere but showed up the next night and got the last table in the place. There was a singer, Chris, who was pretty darn good!! We enjoyed his music and his stories. I asked if he knew any Statler Brothers songs and then realized my taste in country music was formed in the 1970s and 80s. Before he was born! But he found one and we loved hearing him sing Counting Flowers on the Wall. He did great at Johnny Cash sings also! They have beers and wines and flights available. My family all enjoyed a few beers and I had a sangria. The burgers and salad were pronounced delicious and I had fish and chips. I'm sure it was commercially made and from the freezer, but actually very good. The fried pickles were better than I'd thought they'd be and the cheese curds were yummy. I got up to use the restroom and a man and his wife were there ( hallway) at the same time, and, he said to her, "Honey, come here you have to see this." They both laughed and I was not gonna miss this so I asked if I could look. Check out my picture of the urinal in the men's room. And what's on the wall opposite it!! We talked to the owner who was so very sweet and friendly. The menu is a hoot to read and the atmosphere is a fun Texas bar. It made for a really fun evening! Group of six of us. Worst service experience I've had at a restaurant. We waited an hour and a half for food that never came. The new waitress had no help and no manager ever came over to apologize. We got two small sad looking appetizers after an hour and a half. We walked out without waiting for the food to arrive. Food on other tables looked not so appealing so probably we were saved stomachaches. Needs new management and wait staff. Never going back. Went to MOD pizza. That place is amazing. Amazing staff. Stopped by Cork This! Tap That with family and friends while house hunting nearby and now I'm considering moving just to have this as my local hangout. The loaded potato hit like a comfort food home run, and that giant pretzel? Big enough to share... but I didn't. The kids devoured their mac 'n cheese and fries, so bonus points for being family-friendly and beer-friendly. We caught the Astros game and ended up chatting with regulars like we were already neighbors. Laid-back vibes, solid food, and good people. Crappy service. We walked in. Greeted. Asked if they had high chairs. She pointed so we had to grab our own high chair and carry it outside. We told her we will sit outside. We waited 10 minutes and not one person acknowledged we were there. Even a waitress came outside and saw we had no drinks, menus or anything. Delivered drinks and food to the table next to us. Walked by us and then decided to hang out by the side and play on her phone. We got up and left. Still not one person ever said anything yet most of them were standing around the kitchen. Came here as a stop on our way back to Austin; we were looking for a quick bite somewhere and saw the restaurant had live music too. The place was definitely busy when we arrived but we managed to get a seat. While the buffalo chicken wrap was good it felt average but we absolutely loved the cheeseburger - we would 100% come back for the burger and the fries! Stopped by a on Saturday evening around ~7:00 pm. Was able to find a table for our party of 6 easily. Started out with the giant pretzel & jalapeño poppers as appetizers. Our meals included cheeseburgers, fish & chips, chicken fried steak stuffed baked potato & a chicken fried steak. All the food was solid. Nothing spectacular and had that wow factor but very solid representation. Service was great. I don't remember her name but do know she came in on her day off to help out being short staffed. She did a great job. I knocked them down a star due to how loud the music was inside. I'm not certain if the speaker above us was broken or not but they guy singing on stage, he voice "rattled". It was extremely loud. About halfway through our visit, the speaker either broke or someone turned something down. It made our meal much more pleasant. Cool interior, fun vibes with the band playing. This one was a little rough when it comes to rating it the restaurant itself was really cool I like the way it was decorated. I like that outside he live entertainment so that gets five stars. We've never been there before no one greeted us. No one told us where to set what to do. It was just kind of find a place and figure it out on your own. We got a table for six outside took about 20 minutes for the waitress acknowledge we were there brought us menus took her drink came back 20 minutes later with her drinks, then we placed our food order when the food arrived. There was three couples couples. Food showed up 10 minutes later second couples showed up 10 minutes later couples Food showed up keep in mind. We ordered everything at the same time, so I think they need help in the kitchen, organizing what needs to be done. this part of the experience I would give a negative 5 stars. I will give them some leeway because it was St. Patrick's Day, and it was busy, but that just tells me management doesn't know how to staff for events. It's a great place to go to, to watch and hear local musical talent while eating good comfort food. I like their food and wine (blueberry wine is my favorite). We have been to this establishment several times over the past year and this weekend was horrible. We were the only customers during the day, had 10 adults and 6 kids. Took almost 30 minutes to get drinks, over an hour for our food. Most all the orders were wrong in one way or another, food was undercooked and icing on the cake was double gratuity charged on our bill. The waiter didn't know how to use the machine to take orders and the manager just stood there, didn't help him or even carry out food. Great ambiance and cool music setting, not good food. The food is warmed up frozen or pre-made favorites, could use some good quality dishes for sure. I've been twice and everyone at the table said the same thing both times. We ordered the poppers, burgers, wraps, the pretzel(best thing they have), okra, and the jalapeño bit/strip things. If I were serving these types of appetizers I would pile the okra, but you can see the bottom of the mini tray right as they brought the food out, not enough for two even to share this appetizer. They need good chips and queso and a solid burger and then this place would be a hit. read more

Don't substitute the potato chips with fries (few) as it will cost another $4, and they won't tell you til you get the bill. Fries is Half of a Great sandwich? Cool atmosphere. Took a very long time to get our first drink, they were short handed. The hamburgers/steak finger basket was about like Dairy Queen with a big price tag for the quality. Appetizers were pre battered frozen style and tasteless. The beer was super expensive, $4 - $6 a bottle for regular brand beer. We spent $130 on 2 people for two appetizers, we split a burger and had a few beers. We ate at the Pacific Yard House, we had one appetizer, two entrees and lots of beers for $80! Balmy and humid inside during an east Texas summer is not where you want to be. On inquiry about the abysmal environment, we were told the "A/C is programmed". Take away- The owner is cutting corners to save a buck. 12 minutes to pour a single beer, I watched the bartender and the tap burp out a brew a shot at a time. What I was given was warm, flat and covered in foamIt could not be consumed. In fairness she said they were having trouble with the taps. However, this is exactly the kind of issue that should be identified and fixed before the doors are opened. Being so, there is a serious leadership and mismanagement issue.
