Do not eat here. My dad and I both ordered the fried catfish meal. The catfish was bland at first bite and then had a weird aftertaste. Our hush puppies were cold on the inside and the macaroni and cheese was cold and the flavor was disgusting - with a plastic type texture. The mashed potatoes were clearly the instant type and lacked flavor. Our waitress was decent but she didn't clean our table. The ambiance was good and the musician did a great job. This place has had a makeover if you haven't been in a while. It could use a little more staff as I went at lunch and it was a bit busy but there was no one there to greet me and let me know if I am to seat myself or not. There were two contradicting signs. The food was just as good though since it has come under new owners. The tables aren't sticky anymore when you touch them and they still have live music on some nights. Check out this the new dogs of your town and enjoy some good food. read more

Walked in at 8pm on a Friday night after an event in old town spring and was told they would be closing early. Not sure which of the 5-6 staff makes that decision but it's an awful way to run a business! If your posted operating hours are until 9pm then you need to take customers until 9pm. I could understand not taking a big group at 8:45 but we were a group of 4. We are fairly regular patrons of the restaurant, knew what we were gonna order, and would have easily been out of there before closing. read more

Stopped by to grab a beer after doing some shopping in Old Town Spring. Our bartender was very sweet when we sat at the bar and helped us order our drinks and get a little snack. The location is pretty interesting on the inside, but I loved the outside seating patio on the right. The beer was cold and the mugs as well. We tried the puff peppers, which were good but looked like they needed a little more time in the fryer as they weren't quite gooey in the center and would have loved more jalapeño in them. Had lunch here today and it was very underwhelming. The food was not the best. I ordered a burger and the fries were stale. My husband got the chicken fried steak and the mac and cheese was undercooked. The waitress handed me my plate without telling me it was pipping hot and I almost burned myself. They never checked up on us and never brought ketchup for my burger. Worst experience ever never coming back. read more

Honestly was excited to eat here but now I don't even want to pay for my food. It took forever the order was wrong and had a bug on it. By the time it got here I just tried to eat what I could but 16 dollars for a "chicken sandwich" that I couldn't even eat is outrageous. For 100 degree heat they didn't have the AC on. The service were all polite and friendly. Food was good. It's crazy to me how TX thinks they need to up charge $$$ everything to keep history (old buildings or restaurants) alive. Either that or I've been hanging out with my parents too much. I've been to Puffabelly's a few times now and also enjoy the food! The chicken friend chicken is really good and the prices seem reasonable. It's a fun spot for walking around Old Town Spring. I have found that the staff is almost too good in the sense that it has felt rushed ordering and closing out despite the restaurant being not overly crowded by any means. Puffabelly's has an old timey charm (which is clearly what they're aiming for). read more

Puffabelly's is a great place to hang out with friends on a weekend afternoon. I've been here a handful of times now: twice when playing music in their awesome covered and air-conditioned outdoor stage, and a few times for food. While we were in old town, Spring... Picking up my best friends wedding dress, we ate at Puffabelly's. Our waitress was wonderful... She was very polite. She checked back on her she did great job... Couldn't of had better service. However, the food... My best friend got the fried food appetizer... And that was really pretty good, it had amazing onion, rings, fried jalapeños, fried zucchini, fried potatoes, fried pickles, you name it. She enjoyed it a lot, especially with all the ranch dressing on the side... However, it was a tremendous amount of food that she was able to take home to her fiancé. Sadly, I picked the chicken fried steak... A classic he would think easy make. I got the "fresh" sweet corn, the loaded mashed potatoes along with it. The sweet corn was frozen, you can tell that because the protein in the corn had broken down and was soggy, it could also be massively overcooked I don't know which one was the problem probably both. seems so it's the end of summer and it's corn season. This seemed unreasonable... The chicken fried steak was tough hard to chew and had way too much breading. The gravy was fine. My favorite thing about the meal was the mashed potatoes... They had crumbled, bacon, bits and green onions and cheese, and I had a gravy on the side and it was delightful... I'm hoping I just picked a bad one from the menu or the cook was having a bad day. Because as we've gone past this restaurant before, it's always packed... We thought that was a good sign, but I think we're gonna try another restaurant next time. read more

Sometimes you just need a classic chicken fried steak and Puffabelly's has a good one. Crisply breaded, angus meat and a creamy gravy served on the side to preserve that crunch, there's a lot to love. They come in two sizes and in the past a small was more than adequate for your average diner, but now it appears that inflation has hit the kitchen and the small is more sandwich sized than dinner. That's where the one star went. Sides are still like grandma makes and the whole meal is satisfying, just wish the steak serving hadn't shrunk so significantly. Pro tip, get the large. read more

Took forever to get our food but when we got it, it was cold. Mac and cheese was NOT cooked all the way, mashed potatoes were instant, was very disappointed!! This place used to be pretty good, but the staff seemed confused. We came in for lunch on a Saturday and the food was mediocre. But regarding the experience, they initially tried to sit us immediately in front of the band speaker which was quite loud. They were out of the first three beers ordered, and they propped the patio door open next to our table when it was 95° out, so the heat and flies were pouring in and spent the rest of lunch with us. They also forgot some of our order. They made the adjustments when we requested it, but the whole operation seems like a cluster. I don't plan on coming back. It's not worth the cost or time. read more

Our first time so I don't have anything to compare it to before the ownership changed. Food has no flavor. Forced myself to eat the chicken fried steak. Fried batter is nothing special and flavorless. Corn taste like it came straight out of the can. No salt/butter. Definitely don't recommend this place if you want good food. Service was okay. Nothing exceptional. Best part of the visit was the rustic look of the restaurant and the ladies restroom. Although I loved the esthetic, it doesn't mesh with the restaurant at all. My wife and I came here after her salon appointment. We've been wanting to try them for a while. We didn't come for dinner, just to quench our thirst and try a couple appetizers to gauge the possibility of a second visit. We ordered a couple of Stella Artois's, Fried Green Tomatoes, Puffapeppers, and Cheese Fries. Overall, our experience was very pleasant. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was laid out nicely, clean and not cluttered. The theme was appropriate for Old Town, country, rustic, and trains, being located right across the street from the tracks. They have two stages for live music, one indoor, one outdoor. Our server, I think his name was Brent, was very friendly and attentive. The food was good and seemed fresh, although a little bland. I think a little appropriate seasoning added to their recipes would really make them pop. All in all a good experience. We will be back to try them for dinner. read more

The service is beyond terrible!!! Was told a 20 minute wait, an hour later was seated. Food took over an hour. This place is awful!!

Everything was awesome from the appetizers to the chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and even the green beans. The sweet iced tea needed help. It was watered down quite a bit. The appetizers with the fried green tomatoes, onion rings, fried green tomatoes, fried pickles, and bombers was perfect but half an order for two is quite enough. I loved the cheese and jalapeño bomber but only received one. The onion rings were quite crispy and tasty. I would recommend and will come back again before it sells or closes down.
