Sometimes service can be an issue if they are busy, but everyone is nice and welcoming. Definitely a local bar with a lot of regulars and a cool vibe. Music Bingo was super fun and the Bingo Master was fun and entertaining playing music from all genres. Plenty of parking out front and across the street.

I quickly searched on Google and found several options. Messina Hof grabbed my attention. First, it's out in the country, not in the busy Houston region. Second, it has food to pair with wine. Third, I love driving to Richmond Texas. I thought this city has a lot of charms. So, I made a reservation online. While that was not a requirement, but I would like to be reminded. We arrived at the restaurant late because I under estimated the traffic from Southwest Houston. My reservation was moved with my request, nice. The parking lot is huge and wheelchair accessible spots are on both sides of the entrance. We were one of 2 parties at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The wait staff was very cordial. She introduced us the wine tasting menu: White Wine, Red Wine, Mixed Wines, Premium, Library and Sweet Wines. My friend likes to try their sweet collection, $28. I don't drink. So, I just looked at him enjoying the wines. It started with something weak to something strong like a Port and ended with something delicious that he really liked. Each pour is 3 oz, except 1 oz of port due to high alcohol content. We bought a bottle of Orange Muscat Mistella, $25. I don't think we can find this elsewhere for this price. For people like me who don't drink, I asked for a glass of sparkling red grape juice. We also paired our drinks with a wood-fired pizza and I ordered a Burrata Salad. They are quite delightful. I was surprised as the wines are travelled from Bryan/College Station and Fredericksburg of Texas. Umm... So, this huge facility doesn't produce wines. Although, there is a grapevines out on the front. As we've been told that those grape trees will produce grapes next year. The only winery tour is at those 2 locations. There is nothing to see here. When we arrived there the sign at the door said wait to be seated there were several employees at the bar and neither one of them acknowledged us we had to ask and it seemed like we were bothering them. Someone finally acknowledge us and asked if we had reservations we said no but we had a party of 7 she said let me check and came back to us she mentioned that she spoked to her boss and they decided it was at there best interest not to seat us we were stunned because the restaurant had several tables open I work in hospitality and know you never refuse service to anyone that is paying. We have been members of there wine club but I will be cancelling my membership and our son had his wedding reception there 3 years ago and they were in town and decided they wanted to go there for dinner and purchase several bottles of wine to take home we were so embarrassed they have lost my business forever. It is incredibly disappointing to have such a negative experience at a restaurant that we have supported and enjoyed for years. I hope management takes the time to review what happened, because this is not the way loyal customers should be treated.

They acted giddy and happy to help us put everything together, reassuring us that they would be there to support us on our big day. That all changed the moment they got paid. On the day of the event, we only saw the owners twice, and neither time was to help us. When I walked up to the owner to thank him for having us, his response was completely unprofessional: "Are you kidding? This is for you, you paid for it." The only other time he approached us was to aggressively complain about someone taking up two parking spots--and it wasn't even one of our guests. They also explicitly promised they would check on us throughout the event to see if we needed refills on water or drinks. They completely ghosted. We never saw them, and our guests were left without service. It has been three weeks since the event, and we haven't received a single follow-up call or text to ask how things went. They got their money and completely checked out. Nice place, but terrible owners and even worse service. Never again will we book with them. Save your money and go somewhere where the staff actually cares about your business.

I'm horrible with names, but the co-owner greeted us and gave us a quick tour of the place. And then ordered a glass of wine and relaxed walking around and checking everything out. My wife says, "are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I said yep. I was turning 60 in a 3 months and hadn't settled on a venue for the party and this was the place. We visited with the co-owner and settled on a date and cost. We had a great time. In the next 3ish months, we visited a few times as we like hanging out there. Then the party. My wife and her sister put together a huge charcuterie table as the spread. BR Vino supplied the wines and beers. We supplied the food and soft drinks. The venue is awesome as it has a long main seating/cisiting area with 2 large scene TVs. There is a smaller middle room that has a table for more intimate setting and then out the back door is a nice outdoor seating area that is "fenced" in so the kiddos can't get away. We had about 40 people at the event and all had a great time. The owners were great hosts. Let us do our thing. I would highly recommend BR Vino for a glass of wine or a small get together. Cheers.
