I have to start with it has been a long time since I have been to North Lake Grill but it was memorable. I was helping some friends in the area move from one house to another. Their current house was very close to North Lake Grill and they took me and the other helpers there for lunch. We all got burgers and fries. It was one of the best burgers. I keep saying I want to return but just haven't made it over there. When I do, I will be sure to take pictures to add to my review. The place is very casual. It's right by the lake so people can come there after a long day of being out on the water. That always makes me hungry! It's just a relaxed, fun place to go. We live in April Sound and love getting away to the north side of the lake, driving through the national Forest and stopping at North Lake Grill for some of the best food on the lake. Every visit we try something new. Everything has been very good. The brisket is melt in your mouth. Just a Week after oral surgery and my husband has been able to eat it....all of it. Order: -Texas Twisters (jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and brisket, topped with bacon) 3.6/10 This was recommended by the nice lady at the register taking my order... however what I got was utterly disappointing. Cold... room temperature to be exact. Ample stuffing with some sort of bone shard in one of the pieces? The flavor was ok. Nothing wrong. However, the sheer fact that it felt like they put this together in the morning and let it sit on the counter all day until I ordered it in the afternoon was a huge let down. Cold food is a pet peeve of mine so this was frustrating. -Bikini Burger 7.2/10 Standard bun-less burger. Likely a bought in patty that at the very least came out fresh and hot. It'll get the job done. No complaints. Mehhhhh if you're in the area and don't wanna drive further out of convenience, this will do the trick. Our favorite casual place on the lake! Saw this on Yelp about 2 miles off of I45. The restaurant is on a pretty Lake Conroe cove with a nice and very busy marina. The staff was friendly and professional. The owner was an executive chef at several restaurants and resorts, and he knows his stuff. We had the jalapeño poppers, shrimp with mango relish, brisket, pulled pork, brisket beans, onion rings and cranberry cole slaw. It was all delicious, and we will go back soon. The restaurant is very clean. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. There is outdoor seating and a nice pavilion for events. I've never taken my boat north of the 1097 bridge, but the lake is wide and clear to this point and they have gas and free tie ups. I think this is near to where most fish were caught at the MLF bass tournament. Great Place! read more

The owner was a complete know it all type with a "i dont care cause someone else will walk through the door type". Then there is the food and portions, the 30 years of experience should be enough time to make a good burger but i guess not when you bind meat with more meat and try and stuff it with crap! Barely able to finish my meal, on top of that i ordered onion rings (that where bland unseasoned and gross) and got maybe 5 rings. We were a very large group of ladies for lunch so their usual system was strained to take our orders and for us to pay. But they did get it done. I ordered their Bikini burger (which is wrapped in lettuce). The burger was okay but it would have been better if iceberg lettuce was used instead of romaine. The fries were also okay. The service was good. They did give us all a free serving of Mixed Berry cobbler. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. This is a good place for folks who live in the Willis area but I am reluctant to drive over 30 minutes for just okay food. read more

We live in a great little community (TX Grand Ranch) with not many dining options nearby. one of our neighbors found this little gem and made a mention on our community Facebook page, so we stopped by tonight to give it a try! Great find while visiting Lake Conroe. This place was only about 10 minutes from our Airbnb on the lake. Extremely friendly service. We ordered the fried pickles/bottle caps basket for appetizer. Excellent! Tasty and not too greasy like some can get. I had the garlic Parmesan wings and they were killer. Perfectly fried and great sauce flavor. I also got the special of half a dozen boiled shrimp. Just the right spice level! My husband got the Hawaiian burger (no bun), and said it was excellent. We got peach cobbler and a brownie to go and those were both delish! I will note they don't have alcohol, but you can run next door to the shop and grab a beer or wine to bring back (coolers we're broken, but who doesn't like wine on ice, lol!). read more

We had brisket tacos and fish tacos (catfish) with the cranberry coleslaw. Both were delicious and we enjoyed the coleslaw (right amount of vinegar - nice and tangy.) My grand daughter and I stopped in here for some crawfish and I was surprised how busy they were and how good the food was. My only complaint is they need tables with chairs indoors instead of all picnic tables for seniors who have some mobility issues. We sat outside and it was very nice to sit watching the water. I'd give zero stars if I could. Sign said open till 7 thur through Sat. Sign on door said open. We walked in at 6:40 Thursday. No staff at counter. Manager walked past us after a couple minutes, ignored us and went to talk to a table of customers. After a few more minutes walked back to us, told us the kitchen was closed and he'd see us next time. No explanation of why we couldn't be served. Attitude was very insincere and dismissive. I'll never give them another shot and suggest others avoid as well. If you are closed, then put out a sign. If you are open till 7, then be open till 7. read more

We had dinner here last weekend. It wasn't a great experience. The picnic tables inside the restaurant were uncomfortable because, let's face it, you're sitting on a wooden plank. The table top planks were uneven, so your dishes and cups didn't sit flat. Plus, the table top and seats looked like they had been treated with a sticky tar-like substance. It just didn't feel clean. Everyone at our table like their food, except for me. The steak was too peppery. The waitress was very friendly, which was a good thing. However, she must have been really impressed by the job she was doing because she added on a 20% tip, even though there were only two couples in our party. read more
