During my travels I come across gems that really impress me. The Corral did that and more during my visit here. When I arrived, there was a wonderful gentleman and artist painting Christmas greetings on the windows. I was greeted and my server Calise got me some water while I looked over the menu. Everything sounded good so I asked Calise for a recommendation...the Chopped Steak dinner was her choice, and I went with it. This is a solid...rib sticking good meal. The mushroom and onions in the gravy really added great flavor, the "steak" perfectly cooked, and the mashed potatoes were homemade and good. I went for the onion rings because they are homemade and they were really good! I enjoyed how Calise explained the kitchen here...apart from five items, everything is freshly cooked from scratch. I really enjoyed the fun atmosphere here, these folks make you feel at home. If they keep serving food like this while taking exceptional care of their customers, they have a bright future ahead.

Enjoyed a lunch here with my wife. I had the Jalapeño smash burger and she had the fish tacos. Both meals were really good although she was not a fan of queso corn. I had the onion rings with my burger and they were delicious. Prices were standard and they had a nice menu. They will be serving crawfish this year. The servers weee super friendly and my drink was always topped off. Will be back.

Very reasonably priced with excellent portions. Highly recommend the chicken fried steak. The onion rings are very crisp but not over done.

Went with the seafood Gumbo. It was outstanding. Great flavor. Food portion at a fair price. Solid service. Place is clean. Putting it on the rotation of places we go when I come visit my parents who live south of New Waverly.

We tried The Corral last Thursday night for the first time and was great!! My husband and I shared the chicken fried steak per the waitress's suggestion because it's so big and she didn't lie! It was more than plenty of food for us and it was delicious! Highly recommend! We also had wonderful service, Lexi was our waitress! We will definitely be back!!

No questions asked...just right! IYKUK My waitress Becca was very attentive despite managing several tables, even while engaging in conversations and even hugging some of her customers. Chicken parmigiana was delicious. Lunch portion was great. I took some home. Bonus for the "Little Jesus" she left with my receipt.

It would have been better with fresh basil and more mozzarella cheese. The chicken piccata was okay. It was a little heavy on the lemon but the artichoke hearts were a plus for me because I really enjoy artichoke. My friend really liked the chicken parm. And it was his birthday so he got a brownie dessert which was rich and delicious. Over all I was going to give 3 stars but our server Makayleigh got it bumped up another star because she was absolutely great: Great service, great personality. Of course I will come back and I will have pictures. We dug in before I could take photos. I will not order the chicken piccata again though.

I've had…read morethis place on my radar for awhile as I am a huge fan of visiting breweries everywhere I go. Come to find out days before our trip that Southern Star has decided to shut down at the end of June. Sad to see one of Texas' oldest breweries closing down. I had to get here before they did because their beers are great. It's right off 45 and easy to find tucked away off a side road. The grounds are beautiful as well as the building itself. The inside taproom isn't large but the building itself is so I'm wondering they have more hangout spaces. They also have a nice deck where a lot of people were hanging out. Customer service was great. Most everyone in our crew got a flight so we could try a few things. Prices here are excellent and won't break the bank. That's what I love most about breweries. I went with the Strawberry Blonde, Southern Brunch (citrus shandy), Texas Lager, and Pit Stop (cherry cider). I really enjoyed them all especially the Southern Brunch. My friends ordered some apps for the table such as fried pickles, fried mushrooms and waffle fries. They came out piping hot and were all tasty. I saw some pizzas leaving the kitchen and they looked excellent. They also had deals on whole cases of beer for 20 bucks. Killer deal that my friend took advantage of. Sad to see this place is closing. Great breweries are a dying breed from what I have read. If these places weren't so far I would support them more. I wish everyone in the company well and hopefully see them come back in the future.

These were two really good beers. After that, the other options were not as appealing or tasty. Little disappointed that they only had a limited amount of beer on tap but really enjoyed the upstairs section of the brewery. Nice views outside. The beer tenders were not the friendliest of people and really expected more out of them for a weekday afternoon. Overall, a good experience and worth stopping in to see what they have to offer

Why 4 stars? Because pancakes + nostalgia carry the day here…read more --- --- --- As a kid, I recall the pancakes here being absolutely amazing. Sometimes, you remember something in your head being better than it really is, but despite not visiting a Cracker Barrel in at least a decade (maybe two), those pancakes are exactly how I remember them: perfect. The rest of the food? Yikes. We ordered a cinnamon roll skillet and it was pretty terrible. First off, it was mildly warm, at best. It looked like it had been sitting in the skillet for a few hours and tasted no different. I reluctantly finished one of the mini rolls but it was not worth the calories. And I also ordered a campfire skillet. This is one of those situations where when you almost exclusively eat at highly-rated, mom & pop restaurants, you forget how bad these big, corporate chains really are. It was passable when I masked it with some ketchup, but the eggs look like they were spit out of some giant machine that makes 1,000 plates an hour. It shouldn't take that much effort to make decent eggs, which leaves me confused. But between the pancakes and the museum of rare candies in the shop, Cracker Barrel is still an enjoyable experience. We all agonized over what candy to take home because there were so many good options. And everyone who worked here was super friendly. Just don't come in with high expectations for the non-pancake portion of the menu.

It seems to make no difference if it's morning/night or even different days of the week, it just varies a lot. Additionally, there has been a smell in the women's restroom that absolutely reeks for going over six months now that they just have not gotten rid of. The only part that keeps us coming back is my son's enjoyment of the chicken and the servers are often quite friendly. Granted many servers are new whenever we go (so I believe there is a lot of turnover) but they all are generally quite nice.

I had to come leave a review for our experience at First Watch on I-45 in Conroe because WOW. From…read morethe moment we walked in, the hospitality was unmatched. I came in with my mom, nana, husband, and my service dog, and our server Makayla genuinely made this one of the best dining experiences I've had in a very long time. What shocked me most is finding out she's actually pretty new, because she handled that busy brunch rush like a seasoned professional. She was incredibly attentive, kind, patient, and so thoughtful the entire time we were there. She made sure my family's coffee cups never went empty, constantly checked on us without hovering, and somehow managed to keep everything flowing smoothly even while the restaurant was packed. One thing that really stood out to me was how caring she was toward my service dog. Not everybody pays attention to those little details, but she did immediately. I ordered the Trio Breakfast with a plain waffle specifically for him, and without me even having to repeat myself, she made sure there was absolutely no butter or syrup on it because she remembered it was for my dog. That level of attentiveness meant a lot to me. Now let's talk about the MILLION DOLLAR POTATOES. Whoever created those deserves a raise immediately. As a pregnant woman in my first trimester, eating has honestly been a struggle lately because almost nothing sounds good or stays satisfying. Those potatoes were one of the first things in a while that actually made me excited to eat. They were savory, comforting, flavorful, and honestly addictive. I was so invested in those potatoes that I can barely even remember what the rest of my family ordered . I asked Makayla what was in them because I was genuinely blown away, and she took the time to explain everything to me so sweetly. She also made sure our food came out hot and quickly, and you could tell she truly cared about people having a good experience, not just "doing her job." I even asked to speak with her manager because excellent service deserves recognition. Aaron, the manager, was just as wonderful. You could tell he genuinely took pride in hearing positive feedback about Makayla, especially as a new hire. He thanked us for coming in, was extremely kind and informative, and honestly helped create such a welcoming atmosphere overall. I told my family I wish I could throw Makayla, Aaron, and the million dollar potatoes into my suitcase and bring them all back home to California with me . Unfortunately, there are no First Watch locations in California, which honestly feels criminal at this point. To Makayla and Aaron: thank you for making a pregnant woman, her family, and her service dog feel genuinely cared for. In a busy brunch restaurant, that level of hospitality is rare, and it absolutely did not go unnoticed. We will remember this experience for a very long time.
