Less smokey than some other bars I have visited, but it's still a smoking indoors establishment, but they also have some outdoor seating. Every time I visit family in the area we always end up here at least one time. They have billiards, darts, golden tee - some real good players, and trash can pong. On weekends they have a DJ. Police trap. Bartenders will over serve their customers and then call police on them and have them arrested for public intoxication. Has happened to several people I know. Didnt believe it until I saw it for myself last night; it happened to a friend. I was completely sober and was the DD and the bar bouncers and off duty rent a cops wouldn't let me bring them home. They were all excited to have an innocent man who was out enjoying time with family arrested on bogus PI charges. He wasn't causing problems or bringing attention to himself or anyone and the bar had him arrested because he was tipsy walking out the door OF A BAR. AND HE WASNT DRIVING HE HAD A DD. Loved this little hole in the wall we were looking for late night food and everything in this area was closed or not serving food late Sunday night and they stayed open serving food till 1:30am. When we came in the music was a vibe and the place was packed the chicken sandwich I had was amazing that paired with some Jameson I was beyond solid. Ehhh, out of 4 experiences I've had here...first one, a whole possum with her babies come running through the door right behind me, 2nd time "security" denies my boyfriend for "walking drunk" 3rd time, come with friends get in a Monday night as a 23 year old, 4th time last night, denies my boyfriend again for the way he's walking........... while 15 other of our friends got in while they had been drinking, WE HAD NOT ONE DRINK ALL NIGHT...........a joke, it's a trailer house for godsake. A friend of mine was headlining a comedy show at Exit 73 one Wednesday night so my wife and I came out to support him. We typically dine at home or restaurants but we were both starving. She ordered the Cajun burger and I had a dozen wings. The wings were fine but the burger may have been the biggest I've seen in a long time. Unfortunately, there was nothing cajun about it. Its size was only outdone by its blandness. The Wednesday night comedy show is going to be a recurring event. If you like laughing at just the thought of a comedy show, and don't mind the $5 cover, then go and have fun. Just make sure you eat first. read more

Went to Exit 73 to watch some midget wrestling. Yes, that's right -- midget wrestling. The inside of the bar is a smoker's paradise. If you're like me, you'd wish that you carried some Febreeze to douse yourself with before you get back in your car. The drink prices were average and the bartenders were quick when you needed them. The special event I went to -- was cool, but there was no enforcement. Folks who had the wrong wristbands were sitting with those that bought the higher price ticket packages. The kindof urked me a little since the tickets weren't cheap. Might come back to check the place out again. An ok dive bar as long as you're part of the "In" crowd. Happened to show up during what we thought was the owner's 50th Birthday celebration. The employees layered out decorations and party horns on the tables but once patrons started enjoying themselves with the horns we were reprimanded and the party favors were removed post haste. Love this bar. Not only can you come here for drinks but they have amazing food as well. Yes it is smoky but at the same time it's a bar! Went here on a Monday evening with friends. Fast service and the burger is delicious. Was surprised by how cheap the bill was when I finished. They also have free pool but you have to pay for darts. This place is a hidden fun place. Definitely would be back again. read more

I am not a fan of bars where there is smoking inside. I absolutely despise my hair smelling of cigarettes! That being said, whenever a friend suggest this place, I am always down to hang out with them here because the staff is so friendly and attentive. I would have to say Kevin is by far the best there! He remembers what you ordered and the name on the tab to put your drink on. I have never had a problem with the staff here. I drink only craft beer and here, the price is decent. Most places charge an outrageous amount for craft beer, but here it's cheaper than most. I will definitely return, when a friend suggest this place, that is. read more

Went by here late Sat night for some drinks with friends. Place was jam packed, almost too crowded. Parking was a pain and we ended up parking like a mile away. Didnt take long to figure out why it was so crowded once inside everyone was drinking draft beer, here it's $1 a cup on sat night. Felt a bit like a college bar but not too young so that was fine. Had a good time and really enjoyed our bartender that night Grace, she was awesome. We got a couple rounds of shots and she even bought us a round. I love a bar with a top bartender. Visited the bar this past month, few officers at the door, thought nothing of it, maybe off duty security. Officers seemed to be having a good time standing at the entrance just chit chatting but as soon as I left and hit the uturn to head south they lit me up. We have been a few times here and its a great dive-ish type of place....Sports bar atmosphere with a DJ later and can get a little crazy, but that cool with us, we like those type of places. Any one that wants a upscale atmosphere need not even walk in the door, but that doesn't mean the bartenders are the greatest and very attentive. You wait no time for a replacement drink, which in other establishments where you are paying an arm and a leg for a drink,you might wait at the bar for over five minutes till they give you a new drink...Here, its like they see you walking up and bam, drink right there.... Now on to the food....I don't know what burger the other reviewer was talking about, but the one we had was super massive and super full of flavor....I will say if you love chicken sausage gumbo, its some of the best you can get in H-town, without being in Louisianna.....Wayne, the chef, its funny I say chef at a bar, but he is truly a great chef....We ordered another dish, called a Wayne Ball....Let me tell you...It was one of the most delicious things Ive ever eaten...Now let me be clear...its comfort food, totally full of about 12000 calories, but full of down right yummyness....Chef Wayne takes his jambalaya rolls it into a big massive ball, batters and deep fries it then puts it in a bowl and tops it with tons of chicken sausage gumbo...Yep, total fat and totally worth every bite...If you get a chance visit the bar, just for the Wayne's balls...... read more

Since moving back here I have enjoyed this place until now! I went to my first steak night a couple of weeks ago and saw children way under 21 in there. I go tonight with my 19 year old son and was turned away because he was not 21. I was told by a lady bartender that I've never seen before it is 21 and older only period. I would have never taken him there if I didn't see young kids the last time. Isn't that why it's called a bar and grill? Easy 100 plus we would have spent but instead went to Rookies. read more

YES to a rare smoking place in this PC area. Don't complain about the smoke if you are a non smoker as there are FAR MORE bars that do not allow smoking than those that do. Know that this bar allows smoking BEFORE you go, and you won't have to complain. Lots of parking and gaming machines!! Huge selection of draft beer. Less crowded earlier in the day. Food not served until later in the day. Much prefer the 19th Hole bar but Exit 73, Uglies as we used to call it, is a good alternative. read more

My husband and I love dive bars and accidentally found exit 73, We live close to this location and sometimes stop by Ranch Hill Saloon that is in the same parking lot because they have great staff and the coldest draft in town.... When we were walking out we noticed for the first time Exit 73 bar. We walked in and fell in love... Superb staff and great drink specials. I also love the crowd... It's so eclectic... A mix of old and young... singles, couples... redneck, rock, punk, rap type people, rich and working class.... Everyone fits in. The manager is doing something called day party... two nights a week (check their facebook page for details) starting around 3 or 4pm he serves free burgers one night and free pizza the other... they have good drink specials and a cool dj to spin for you... All ties up around 9pm. Which works great for us because we like to be home in bed by 10pm.... It's hell getting old.. lol Hope this helps... read more
