If you feel the need to be treated like a doormat by the self proclaimed "owners" ... this is your kinda place. The food is - well, I don't know - as we waited 1 1/2 hours for the wings to get to us (they never arrived). Yet, somehow it was not their fault. The wait staff is great (as long as the order is simple) yet, one can easily ascertain they would rather be working anywhere else. Stopped into the Draft Bar and Grill for a bite to eat and a beer with a group of friends the other evening. Seemed like a nice little place and we were hungry. Draft Bar and Grill is a nice looking little sports bar type of establishment that offers pool and electronic darts and seems to cater to a lot of locals from the area. The beer listed on the menu seemed reasonable but upon checking with the waitress, most of the beers listed on the menu they did not carry. Our waitress did not know what The Draft Bar really carried and had to keep coming back to our table to let us know that they did not carry that beer. We ordered something to eat, I tried the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and fries which was actually pretty good. Over all, the service with our waitress was poor to fair at best. She rarely checked on us, put in very little effort in getting what we needed and was nowhere to be found when we wanted the check. Not the best way to treat customers. The Draft Bar and Grill was okay, but nothing really great and I am sure that there are other options along that stretch of the 1488 the would have been much better to stop at. read more

This place has basically become my go to when visiting my girlfriend in Conroe. The first thing I noticed was the staff. The first day I came in here a really bad ass guy named Joe, was the first bartender I had encounters with. He greeted us with a big smile, and proceeded to make us feel welcome immediately. His old fashions are legendary. Any drink you ask from him, the guy knows how to make. He instantly made me feel at home. I think that's why I keep going back here. I like good people. You don't often find those today. The atmosphere is really awesome! Pool tables, TVs, great flags, just a really nice place to sit and enjoy your evening. And I don't know who picks the music. But they deserve an award. I will admit, sadly, one of the female bartenders was a bit...let's just say prickly to us and some of the other staff. But that did not deter me from coming back. But, not returning because of this one person's bad attitude, would be like not going over to your buddies house to drink beer just because one of his other friends was kind of a jerk. I cannot decide which is worse the cleanliness of the kitchen area or the lack of accountability on behalf of the new owners. I refuse to eat their and i have witnessed almost everything in there get repossessed from the pool tables to the dart boards to the slot machines. First let me say, the food is excellent!! I had the black & blue burger and it was great. Meat was well cooked with lots of blackening seasoning. Service was a little spotty, but I think the guy was new. He was very courteous and apologized for mistakes. The reason for only 4 stars is the place is extremely noisy. Stopped in on a rainy afternoon for food and drinks. Service was fantastic, A+ for Ella on the patio. Inside was a little dark and a/c was cranked, so chose the patio seating. I wasn't expecting the variety of offerings on the menu, thought it was "bar food". So much to choose from, and all was presented beautifully and tasty. We ordered from the Secret menu, spicy chicken sandwich and handmade eggrolls ( lettuce wraps with two amazing sauces), not a frozen version at all. We will be back. I found the draft a couple months ago, started going pretty regular to play pool and meet some pretty cool people. I never understood why there was no one in there hardly. The foods great, great atmosphere, but now I realize the service is what makes people not come back. It's not all servers but there are a few that have a bad attitude and all they are there for is to hookup with customers and I found out one of those servers was also a manager. Lived in Kingwood and there is a location there, went for years. Now live in Conroe and found this location. It's bigger than Kingwood, but food is just as good ... Cuban Sandwich is great, another item is their fried pickles or their onion rings... REAL ONION RINGS, not those little crinkly things! If you're a spiritual person, lots of beers on Tap. Service has been great every time, I'm bad on recalling names but shout out to (RT and Madelyn ???).. if got it wrong my bad... but they were two of the best! My wife and I went by today for lunch and the food and service was really good!!!really clean place, tons of TV and places to sit!! She had the beef gyro, the steak was really tender and tasted great, their tzatziki sauce is amazing. I had their wings Buffalo with a side of fries and mango habanero sauce!! Wings were just a little over cooked but they were big and had a lot of meat on them!! They have a million different beers and drinks and they all looked good. We will def be going back!!! read more

My friends and I went to the draft last night and it took forever to get anyone to help us. It was not busy because then i would understand . Once someone did take our order it took forever to get our drinks . Again it was not busy. My husband and I tried The Draft a year ago and had the same issue so we haven't been back since last night . I would not recommend going unless you are ok with bad service . read more

We came to this location this past Sunday to watch the Dallas/Pittsburg Game. The food was good, the service was very good, however, I left a comment on the website where I was/Am concerned that I consumed food which I am allergic to because the waitstaff did not understand what is in the food. I asked specifically about the food and was assured that there was no item in the food, but found out later that this was not true. The wait staff needs to contact the chef when asking about food allergies and not just assume that the food is good to go. I received no reply to my comment on the web site, so I am posting here. Not sure if we will return to this location. We had 5 people and the bill was between $150-$175, including tips. read more

Well we had high hopes but it was a one and done for me. Our server was very nice but this is definitely not a family friendly place. There was a rugby get together there when we went so we chose to sit outside with our son away from the crowd but unfortunately they moved outside. There was so much cussing, yelling and f-bombs being dropped that we just couldn't handle it and left. You would think management might want to ask them to tone it down for the other patrons that were there but nope. I'm a fan of the Kingwood location and so my husband and I dropped in the Draft in Magnolia. After the outstanding Kingwood location, I didn't think there was room for improvement. But the Draft 1488 has taken it up another notch. To me, the Draft 1488 hits all the right notes: good food, good drinks, good service. We enjoyed sitting in the back patio. We had our kids with us, and we can tell the owners have made a concerted effort to make this "neighborhood bar" comfortable for families. We appreciate that. The following week we took our staff there for lunch. Everybody enjoyed it, especially our folks from Lousianna who couldn't get enough of the crispy boudin balls. They're the best I've had in Houston. Luckily for us, our warehouse is in Conroe, so we'll definitely be back again and again. read more

I've been going here for several months, great food and the prices on beer and alcohol are far cheaper than most of the bars along 1488. There has been some personnel changes for the better, the girls are always attentive and friendly. All day happy hour throughout the weekdays. I believe this bar is anti LGBT. My wife and I came in soon after they opened for business. All we wanted was a drink and to watch the hockey game. We walked up to the bar and asked if they could change one of the many TVs to the hockey game. The bartender agreed and told us to decide which TV we wanted the hockey game on and she would switch it. The bar was nearly empty so we thought this might be a nice place to chill for a bit. We picked out a table and came back up to the bar to order a drink. That's where the nice service ended. There were no fewer than five bartenders/servers at the bar and only a few customers. They completely ignored me. I was standing right in front of them wanting to order and they acted like I was invisible. I'm not sure if us asking to change the TV channel (which they never did) annoyed them, the fact that we were a female couple did, or maybe they just didn't want to serve anyone at all. After several minutes of them pretending I wasn't there, I gave up on waiting and we left and went to their competitor for drinks, a steak, and the game. read more

Draft is a really good place to gather for a soda or two. Overall the pub food is good, not great, but good. They really shine for crawfish when in season though. They have a nice selection of beers to choose from overall. Bar service is usually pretty good, table service depends on staff and crowd. The do their best and most of the time it is good. It is a sports bar environment, I prefer the high top tables for my family when we go there for the mud bugs. As a gathering place for adults, beer, mixed drinks, pool, darts and a few video games. It is what you would expect from a sports bar. Draft is quiet enough to converse easily ( I have never been there during a game that people really wanted to see). I will continue to go there as a group Place to have social environment, and dinner when they have crawfish. That is just my opinion. Came in hoping to have a good meal but was sadly underwhelmed. Very nice inside clean and new but the food and especially the service was not good. We sat down and it was fairly empty at the time and took the waitress a good 5 minutes to come take our order. Order some chips and queso after waiting another 10 min to find the chips were greasy and chewy. Then another 10 min go by to receive my grilled chicken which was dry and chewy with a ton of salt. Burgers were the same quality. Which part of the issue is the food sat in the window for 5 min while the waitress talked to friends. Kylie was our server. It takes 20 minutes for someone to say hi to you. 15 minutes to get a drink after that. 15 minutes after that they'll finally take your order. Then 30 minutes later you MIGHT get your food. It took an hour to get our chips and queso. An hour to pour cheese into a bowl and walk it out to our table. An hour. This most recent time (tonight) my husband and friend sat at a table for 45 minutes and no one said a word to them. So they left and went to Tapped right down the street and were immediately helped. Stopped in before the Astro's game and there were some pluses and minuses to the establishment. I will say they were packing the house for the astro game, so there are people that like the place. So you may need to check it out for yourself. The happy hour (3 PM to 7 PM) was not a bad deal for a beer (no food). The food menu looks like the whose who of frozen food that you reheat. So you should have not wild expectations of quality. This place was built to sell alcohol and not food. Not a place for the family. I tried the chicken wings and by the time they got to me they were cold and not crispy and barely any sauce. I would probably pick the food truck place next door (Baldy's) or the Tailgators in the other direction. read more
