Quite a disappointment other than the service, all of the food items were lackluster in flavor. Sides tasted like canned items

This was my first time here. We ordered from the lunch menu and the portions were just right. We both had the catfish. I had green beans and rice as my sides. The green beans were very good with the smoked meat in it. The rice was on the hard side but with the brown gravy was still tasty. The water however was disgusting even with lemon.

Super tasty adults only eggnog made with butter pecan ice cream.

This is my come to restaurant whenever I visit the area. I've been coming here for a very long time. I love the lunch special (M-F). The service is good, and the decor and atmosphere is busy small town cafe (but it's actually a big place). Today I had three pieces of fried catfish, cole slaw (I like theirs a lot), fries, and hush puppies. (You always have a choice of biscuits, cornbread (it's great), and hush puppies. Tea or coffee and taxes are included. $15 for 2 veggie plate, and we nearly always have a little to take home.

The service here was amazing! It was my hubbys birthday and we came in with a large group and they really took care of us! The catfish and stuffed crab was so good! The hush puppy's and cornbread with the tomato relish sold us! Gotta have the sweet tea! Thank you ladies!

Why 2 stars? Because I honestly didn't like pretty much anything. --- --- --- I've driven by Vernon's about a hundred times and the parking lot is always full. While fried catfish is not exactly something I ever think about, I was quite curious to see what all the hype was about. Unfortunately, the food was just really disappointing. As I've gotten older, my body only accepts so much fried food before it just hits a wall. But if it's really tasty, I'll still manage to power through. This, however, was not tasty enough to do that. We started off with complimentary hush puppies and some kind of pickled tomatoes (maybe they weren't tomatoes, but I'm not sure what they were). These were probably my favorite items of the meal. We ordered a fried platter of catfish, pickles and cheese sticks. The catfish basically just tasted like fried batter. The cheese sticks tasted like they were purchased from the frozen section from Kroger a couple of weeks earlier. And the marinara sauce had a bizarre flavor that is hard to even describe. For my entree, I wanted to order the catfish because it's the namesake of the business. But to be honest, I'd already gotten my fill of catfish from the appetizer, which was exactly the same, only in bite size form. I was given six pretty large "tenders" and could only manage eating two before I reached the end of my stomach space. I *n-e-v-e-r* leave food on my plate, but I couldn't even finish half of it. My sides were mac-n-cheese and a loaded baked potato. These were both equal to the quality you'd get at a middle school cafeteria or a bowling alley. I hate to trash a business like this, but when the food is so far below par, it's hard to be constructive in my criticism. Everyone we interacted here was friendly and the interior of the restaurant was much nicer than I assumed it would be based off the outside of the building. But this was one of the worst meals I've had in a while and a huge regret for me to waste a cheat meal here.

Classic Seafood restaurant feel, great service and good food. Coleslaw was the only thing that didn't meet my expectation but all in all everything was good.

Disappointed to say the least. Catfish was paper thin with the texture of a strap of leather. Won't go back.

4.5 stars overall!…read more This is the new spot! Hitting their one year anniversary today, I can highly recommend moose and oak! The decor/setup provides a slightly upscale, but still casual, sports bar feel that's family friendly. There are dart boards and various games surrounding the tables but it's all separated appropriately. Tbh this would be a perfect place to watch your sport of choice! The lineup: SOFT SERVE MARGARITA: you read that right & The reason we came here (thanks Instagram!) we got strawberry and it was everything and more I needed it to be. Will be back for this alone. TRUST. although..... I feel like it should've completely filled the glass like it does in the advertisement $9.99 a piece! 100/10 Appetizer: fried pickles spears - YALL. I am soooo picky about fried pickles and these are the best I've had. The pickles were good, crunchy, not overly oily, and stayed together! 12/10 Pickle flatbread: apparently I felt in a pickle escapade mood. Surpringly not over pickly and delicious. I would absolutely get this again. The crust was soft and cheese was melty! 9/10 Fish tacos: average. The chipotle sauce was a bit spicy. Don't know that I would get these again. 5/10 Fries I could skip, not my fave. The street corn was so good, though I wouldn't consider it traditional &! A bit heavy on the red onion, but I enjoyed it! Their sauces were all so good! The prices were fair & I feel like the amount I paid was relative to what I had, so kudos to management for that! Last but certainly not least, Prestyn, our server was great and hilarious. We truly enjoyed her & her jokes! PS - Girl, you and your name are beautiful! The food was semi-slow to come out, but thankfully we weren't in a hurry.

Why 4 stars? Because pancakes + nostalgia carry the day here…read more --- --- --- As a kid, I recall the pancakes here being absolutely amazing. Sometimes, you remember something in your head being better than it really is, but despite not visiting a Cracker Barrel in at least a decade (maybe two), those pancakes are exactly how I remember them: perfect. The rest of the food? Yikes. We ordered a cinnamon roll skillet and it was pretty terrible. First off, it was mildly warm, at best. It looked like it had been sitting in the skillet for a few hours and tasted no different. I reluctantly finished one of the mini rolls but it was not worth the calories. And I also ordered a campfire skillet. This is one of those situations where when you almost exclusively eat at highly-rated, mom & pop restaurants, you forget how bad these big, corporate chains really are. It was passable when I masked it with some ketchup, but the eggs look like they were spit out of some giant machine that makes 1,000 plates an hour. It shouldn't take that much effort to make decent eggs, which leaves me confused. But between the pancakes and the museum of rare candies in the shop, Cracker Barrel is still an enjoyable experience. We all agonized over what candy to take home because there were so many good options. And everyone who worked here was super friendly. Just don't come in with high expectations for the non-pancake portion of the menu.

It seems to make no difference if it's morning/night or even different days of the week, it just varies a lot. Additionally, there has been a smell in the women's restroom that absolutely reeks for going over six months now that they just have not gotten rid of. The only part that keeps us coming back is my son's enjoyment of the chicken and the servers are often quite friendly. Granted many servers are new whenever we go (so I believe there is a lot of turnover) but they all are generally quite nice.

We had a group of 10 on a Thursday evening and were the only customers on the patio for most of our visit. I want to make it clear that our waitress was excellent. She was attentive, hardworking, and did her best despite being repeatedly let down by the kitchen and management. Several orders were prepared incorrectly. A steak ordered "as rare as possible" arrived medium-well. It was remade, but still was not cooked as requested. My catfish platter was strangely lukewarm, while another guest described her catfish as rubbery. An order of fish and chips arrived without the chips. A pizza ordered with bacon, pepperoni, and onions came with grilled onions that were not requested, and the bacon smelled and tasted off. Another guest ordered loaded potatoes as her entire meal. Without warning, she was charged $8 for what was described as a double portion, even though she never requested a double order. What arrived appeared to be approximately one cup of roasted potatoes and did not look like a double serving or a complete meal. When we asked to speak with a manager, Andi told us that she had to answer to the kitchen manager and could not address the charge. She then said she was busy and walked away without offering a solution. When I attempted to explain the problems from this visit and the previous week, I was told that the owner, Teek, is usually at the newest location except on Tuesdays, is difficult for the staff to reach, and that I would need to find him myself rather than having management take my contact information and request that he call me. Restaurants make mistakes, but repeated incorrect orders, questionable food quality, missing items, unexplained charges, and dismissive management are not a single mistake. They are a pattern. Our waitress deserved much better support, and our group deserved food prepared as ordered and concerns handled professionally. After two bad experiences in a row, Pacific Yard House has permanently lost our business.

Apparently, everyone around Conroe had the same idea, because this place was packed... like cattle in a holding pen. They offered us a basket of fresh rolls while we waited for our table, which was a genuinely nice touch and set a great first impression. Unfortunately, 5 baskets of rolls later, it was obvious what our favorite part of the meal had been. The steak was disappointingly rubbery and lacked the flavorful crust you'd expect from a good sear. It was under-seasoned too - with barely even a hint of salt. Not sure how they achieve the deep grill marks... Makes me think they cook them too much in advance and just reheat them before serving for a customer. The sides were okay, but nearly everything felt unnecessarily oily or greasy. Between the noisy, chaotic atmosphere and food that didn't live up to the price or the wait, I'll be satisfying my next steak craving somewhere else.

I ordered the Seafood Ravioli -- cheese raviolis covered in a rich crab bisque cream sauce with sautéed crawfish tails, shrimp, spinach, cherry tomatoes, and Parmesan. My girlfriend and I kept it simple starting with the stuffed mushrooms, comes with 7 mushrooms stuffed with crab in a butter sauce. Pretty tasty although most of the flavor comes from the sauce. As for entrees, she ordered the cajun pasta while I went with the cajun shrimp cobb salad. The pasta is quite large and rich which suited her. I enjoyed the salad which had all the fixings of a cobb salad; I would've preferred the egg be chopped up but I can't complain. We finished our meal with the bread pudding which was delicious and full of cinnamon and caramel. Apparantly it's their best-selling dessert and I can see why. I noticed they also have live music here on certain days and an expansive happy hour. While this spot is far from where we live, we're definitely open to coming back here to taste other items.
