We have been to this Louisiana Fish House location many times, which made this visit especially disappointing. We ordered a $14.45 oyster po'boy. My partner rated the oysters an 8 out of 10; I thought they were okay. The bread was the real problem. It tasted old and had a texture that made it seem as though it had been reheated several times. I called and spoke with someone who identified herself as a manager. She said she had watched the bread go onto the grill and that it was fresh, but that did not match what we received. She offered half off if we brought the sandwich back. We live more than eight miles away, and asking us to make that trip for a partial discount felt inconsiderate, especially after we have supported this location so many times. This is the first time we have had this problem here, but both the bread and the response were disappointing. We are strongly considering finding another restaurant for our po'boys. read more

This is my second time eating from here and yet again my second time eating my food so fast I forgot to take a picture. The food is flavorful and portions are great. I wish we had taken pictures but we were starving We had the shrimp gumbo to start. I was tasty and comes with a piece of grilled buttery toast. It was delish! Then we had the grilled red fish tacos. I selected the Medium sized Shrimp Gumbo, which is a large in most places, and the Shrimp and Catfish seafood platter w Dirty Rice , sweet and vinegary Coleslaw and delicious buttered rolls perfect for sopping up the last of that delicious backend heating gumbo. I'll start with the staff who were exceptionally friendly and courteous. They came to check on us as we dined and gave us extra sauce as needed. Not only were we greeted, they thanked us for coming. You don't realize how rare that is until someone does it. Our food was good. I ordered shrimp etouffée and it was a hearty serving so I gladly ate the rest the following day and the flavor remained in tact. Was it spicy or have a distinguishing? No, but it also wasn't so salty or flavorless that I didn't enjoy it. We shared the red beans and rice, this I wish had a little more heat or meaty flavoring. My companion had the fried combo platter (with a substitute for the oysters) and added some extra jumbo shrimp which they enjoyed. The toast that came with both meals was buttery and paired well. Except when I got home I realized it was a piece of grilled tilapia on my plate (which isn't even listed on their menu as a fish they offer). The flavor was there. This place is SO good! We were in town for a golf tournament and found this hidden gem. The food was so amazing we went back the following evening and ate again before heading out of town. It looks like a hole in the wall in a strip mall, but I find those are usually the best places to eat! Shrimp gumbo was amazing, so were the hush puppies! We also tried the Cajun pasta, crawfish étouffée, fish tacos, fried platter...it was all great. Service was fast as well. They make to order, but we were in and out fast. My wife had the grilled redfish and shrimp with hush puppies and red beans and rice. It was all very flavorful even if the red beans and rice tasted a bit like charro beans which we laughed at the fact that may have been influenced by the all Hispanic kitchen staff. I do not remember what it was called, but I had grilled fish smothered in crawfish étouffée on a bed of jambalaya! It was very, very good. The jambalaya had lots of crawfish tails, chicken, sausage, and shrimp. The fish was cooked to perfection, it separated with the slightest pressure from your fork. The seasonings and flavors blended well together between the jambalaya, the fish and the étouffée. It was very good. I had mine with a side of onion rings. The onion rings were HUGE! Although, They were good, to me they left a little to be desired. Although I do like the massive slabs of fried onion, I wasn't crazy about the texture of the batter, just my personal preference. Maybe next time I will ask them to fry them a bit longer. I like my onion rings with a little more crunch. Overall, it was a great experience and would definitely eat here again. My son takes piano lessons near here and I was craving soup/stew so decided to call and order a cup of gumbo. I asked for extra garlic toast and the sweet girl on the phone told me sure how many? As if I could say any number! And trust me, it was so tempting to say 10! Lol. Anyway, I went with 3 slices and that's what I got... nicely wrapped in foil the last one was still hot an hour later when we got home!
