This is one of our favorite restaurants. However, we were shocked when we recently stopped in at about 7:55 PM on a weekday and we're told that the kitchen would be closing in a few minutes. We were also told that the bar would be open for another hour but we were planning to order drinks, but we need dinner as well. This is such a busy area, we were shocked that the restaurant would be closing so early on a weekday.

I almost can't believe I'm giving a fast, casual five stars, but this place really hit the sweet spot. It was fresh, high quality ingredients, just delicious. Perfectly prepared. The beef tips belonged at a high-end Steakhouse. The chicken fried steak is one of the best I've ever had. Service was on point. 40 beers on tap. Great value for money. Five stars well earned!

My friend and I were looking for a cool place to eat after a long Saturday of yard sale hopping. The restaurant was easy to get to, except parking wasn't fun. Once we got inside we were sat pretty quickly. The restaurant is really nice inside, we felt under dressed but definitely were not treated as such. Our waitress give us a great recommendation for an appetizer that would help cool us off, bruschetta, so refreshing I had the Avocado BLT off the brunch menu and my friend had the Monte Cristo (brunch is until 3p). Also, had the opportunity to ask about their room rentals and the prices are pretty decent make sure you ask too, this could be the place for your next event.

I think this restaurant is really great, and it has an extensive variety of food options as well as a very clean inside with friendly staff and quick service. We loved our food and will be coming back! Also, they have a patio area that has fans and you can smoke a cigar.

I absolutely LOVED this place. The inside was so warm, classy, and homey feeling. The service was excellent! I had the best biscuits and grave that I have ever had before here. There were so many options to choose from! I can't wait to come back.

Came here for Father's Day. My parents really like the place, but this time was a slight miss for me. Shrimp tacos were alright, could've used more flavor, and the creamed corn wasn't the greatest, so just a little disappointed given the price. My parents and grandma enjoyed their food. On an other note, the server was on top of things, the restaurant was clean, and the staff were nice. I'd be willing to give it another try, but the menu is a lil pricey for average food.

$8/martinis for happy hour were the draw, but bartender was a complete dud. Tip: Hey I can make the best martini for myself at home: how about some banter? Where are you hiding out after you pour for a light crowd?

Wednesday before Thanksgiving, we ate an early dinner here. My out of town guests and I were expecting a nice meal as we've always had here. My Tortilla soup was a dark brown color and a bit "off" ~ the shrimp risotto was completely cold as was the blackened salmon. My soup was served with a HALF piece if Texas toast. When I asked server if I could have another, he quickly tapped his order tablet and then charged $2 for the small half. He didn't bring my guest his wine, but a waitress who we hailed did. She was so nice. I was embarrassed by taking guests here and upset with the meal and poor service. Citizens ~ you must do better.

I actually dine here pretty often. The food is great and the staff delivers great friendly service especially Kathy and Andi. I most recently had the fried shrimp with coleslaw and onion rings. Cooked perfectly and portions generous. Their salads are all fresh and I especially enjoy their wedge salad. I get the dressing on the side because they tend to use too much for my taste. I also recommend the fish or shrimp tacos and the tortilla soup. The restaurant is large with a huge outdoor enclosed patio, a separate bar area and private rooms. Family friendly.

Had my first visit to Citizens Grill last night for my birthday and we had a solid visit. Service was fast and friendly, and the restaurant's ambiance had me feeling elevated American pub vibes. We didn't order anything super -- fish and chips, cup of tomato basil soup + 1/2 grilled cheese, & tenderloin beef tips -- but each person enjoyed their menu selection. My middle daughter really enjoyed the tomato basil soup & shared some with me, but I'd pass on it if presented with my own chance to order. The tenderloin beef tips entree was very tasty and the mashed potatoes covered in jalapeño cream gravy with grilled green beans were solid sides. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium and it came out medium well, though, so that was a small miss. Also, I tasted zero jalapeño in the jalapeño cream gravy. Probably the most negative thing about Citizens Grill is access into and out of the restaurant. It shares a parking lot with a large apartment complex & sits next to a busy highway, so we had to sit through 3 red lights to turn in & then wait a long time to exit the parking lot in the direction we needed to go due to road congestion. Would I return? Yep! Is it going to become a destination for dining out for my family? Probably not.

The staff is wonderful--a helpful young man at the register guided us toward the Happy Hour menu, which is surprisingly extensive. The Mahi-Mahi tacos were crispy and fresh, and the burger was top-tier. Even the smaller details, like the fresh strawberry puree in the milkshake and the generous pour in the margarita, showed a commitment to quality. The waitstaff made us feel truly welcome, managing a busy crowd with total grace. Just a heads up: the parking lot and the dining room fill up quickly because the word is definitely out!

You order at the counter(s), or at the table from the roving staff with handheld PoS units. I tried the Big TX Breakfast, subbed in the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes to share. Top quality ingredients, bacon & sausage were excellent, eggs were prepared perfectly and the breakfast potatoes were crispy and seasoned just right. My wife got an omelette that was stuffed full, and my daughter got bacon & eggs with a "fantastic" cappuccino. They were busy, but we got rings in at 9:45 on a Saturday morning. You can't go wrong here. Great desserts and other carry outs.

4.5 stars overall!…read more This is the new spot! Hitting their one year anniversary today, I can highly recommend moose and oak! The decor/setup provides a slightly upscale, but still casual, sports bar feel that's family friendly. There are dart boards and various games surrounding the tables but it's all separated appropriately. Tbh this would be a perfect place to watch your sport of choice! The lineup: SOFT SERVE MARGARITA: you read that right & The reason we came here (thanks Instagram!) we got strawberry and it was everything and more I needed it to be. Will be back for this alone. TRUST. although..... I feel like it should've completely filled the glass like it does in the advertisement $9.99 a piece! 100/10 Appetizer: fried pickles spears - YALL. I am soooo picky about fried pickles and these are the best I've had. The pickles were good, crunchy, not overly oily, and stayed together! 12/10 Pickle flatbread: apparently I felt in a pickle escapade mood. Surpringly not over pickly and delicious. I would absolutely get this again. The crust was soft and cheese was melty! 9/10 Fish tacos: average. The chipotle sauce was a bit spicy. Don't know that I would get these again. 5/10 Fries I could skip, not my fave. The street corn was so good, though I wouldn't consider it traditional &! A bit heavy on the red onion, but I enjoyed it! Their sauces were all so good! The prices were fair & I feel like the amount I paid was relative to what I had, so kudos to management for that! Last but certainly not least, Prestyn, our server was great and hilarious. We truly enjoyed her & her jokes! PS - Girl, you and your name are beautiful! The food was semi-slow to come out, but thankfully we weren't in a hurry.

They added a wall with pool tables since it changed owners. Ordered the blueberry lemon drop, it was 9/10 and would have been 10/10 but had no sugar rim... maybe I need to request it? Usually lemon drops come with but I dunno. Also ordered grilled shrimp tacos with cheese only. They came out with only shrimp, waitress brought out a side of cheese when I asked. Three shrimp to a taco, one more would have seemed more appropriate. But they were yummy. Fries were great, some of the best sports bar fries I've had. I enjoyed my food and drink and woke return, even though they still have some kinks to work out.

Weather was good so opted to eat on their empty patio. I was told that the Carolina shrimp and grits were out of this world. So i got that. Saw their chicken fried steak was American wagyu and won some award. So my kid got that. For the 2 Sides that come with the steak my kid chose mashed potatoes and gravy and regular mac and cheese. Yawn. Sooo Boring. They actually have a bacon and jalepeno version of the Mac and cheese that sounded pretty tasty but my kid just can't handle spice sadly. Reminds me of those peeps ordering vanilla ice cream at Baskin Robbin's 31 flavors when I worked there. I mean, 31 flavors. Ya can't even do French vanilla? Sheesh. The batter on the steak separated from the meat quite easily which made it a bit difficult to eat. But who cares when it tastes that good. Size was impressive - like the size of my face. Loved the white gravy that comes with it. And I gotta admit the ordinary Mac and Cheese was pretty darn cheesy. Now the raffle winner announcer had mentioned this place has awesome shrimp and grits. I had read mixed reviews about the shrimp and grits. And on top of that I'm not much of a grits guy. But I had to try it, just for ya'll, cuz that's what us AllStars do. I gotta agree with many of the online reviewers that the taste of the grits in of themselves is kinda bland as has been my experience with every grits dish I've ever had. Which is why I don't like grits in the first place. And ya know what, there's a whole lot of grits on this plate. Like a big ol' mound of it. Like the Close Encounters mashed potatoes scene. So big in fact that they don't even bother giving you any sides with this and only this particular entree. Texture kinda reminded me of my kid's mashed potatoes. But I did like the other parts of the dish like the shrimp and sausage and even the sauce. So you just really gotta plan each spoonful of this dish, to make sure you get at least some of the topping or sauce with each and every bite of grits. Otherwise the blandness of the grits can overwhelm. For desert we got the banana pudding. My kid is in this banana phase right now. It's like bringing a Minion around with me wherever I eat. Like grits, I've never been a huge banana fan. But I gotta say, this dessert was pretty tasty. And it came in a small tub which impressed. Staff and ambience were wonderful. And they're selling gift cards right now like most restaurants. Would definitely come back someday even without a gift card.

We were told by the friendly hostess that the wait for a table would be about 30-40 minutes. So I sat and waited for the rest of my party to arrive. The wait only ended up being 15 minutes (good thing I didn't leave) My table was close to the front entrance and a huge party (that should have just reserved a private room if you ask me) I felt like I was a wedding crasher. The waiters were busy trying to accommodate everyone by moving tables around and I had strangers standing all around me waiting for their table to be set. So that wasn't enjoyable for me. I ordered an appetizer some wine and our entrees all came out delicious and our waiter was sweet but I won't be rushing back on a busy Saturday night!
