We were in the area and were pretty hangry for brunch. We found this spot on Yelp and decided to check them out. I liked that it had a homey, diner feel to it. The waitstaff was attentive and hospitable too. They asked us about coffee refills and anything else that we needed. So, thank you. We perused their menu and decided to order off of their South of the Border section. We got their migas (switched out the house potatoes for their french fries) and the pico de gallo omelette. They were both delicious. I loved their accompanying spicy green salsa. I wish I had a tub of that sauce to pour over all of our food. lol. I enjoyed the texture contrast of the tortilla chips with the eggs in my migas dish. I'm really glad I asked for french fries, since they were crispy and well seasoned. Yum. Went with out Sunday School class on a Friday nite and will not be excited to return even for fellowship. The food is bland and I asked Hubs to share and I would have dessert because I sure miss savory. The one 1/4 of the Beef Philly was so dry, cheese cold. Not a Philly at all. My dessert was not memorable, but I ate it anyway. The place was busy and waitstaff were cordial. I don't need to return even though I love our get togethers. It a place more for younger, I suppose. Very nice, clean and quiet noise level place to enjoy a breakfast. We came here based on the other positive reviews for breakfast in the area. I was not disappointed. Although it was a bit busy, we were greeted and seated rather quickly. The menu offer quite a variety of meals, but, we were focused on the breakfast. We chose the Cowboy and the Riverside breakfasts. The Cowboy breakfast has choices of eggs, meat, potatoes and a bread. I opted for The scrambled eggs, thick cut bacon, house potatoes and a biscuit. My guest selected the Riverside which consisted of eggs over easy, thick cut bacon and pancakes. The eggs were fresh and prepared well, the bacon had a wonderful texture and smoky sweetness to it. The pancakes were fluffy and tasted like they were from scratch as well as the biscuit, which almost had very good density. All of the foods and coffee were of generous portions and delicious! The cost of the meals with coffee and tax came out to about $15 per person. The staff was wonderful and attentive without being intrusive. The waitress' attitude was friendly and positive. The overall cleanliness in the restaurant dining area was enjoyable and the bathrooms are kept clean. The Waterfalls Café earns two big thumbs up and I plan to make this one of my regular go-to breakfast diners! Great diner. Not overly big inside and honestly the menu was just right. Not overwhelming with tons of options like most breakfast places. The burrito was amazing as well as the omlet. Highly recommend the corned beef hash (ask for crispy)! We also had the chicken eggs Benedict, which needed a little extra holiday sauce, which they brought and didn't charge extra for. It was delicious. The Reuben was excellent as well, not your deli variety but more like mom made it home. Because we pretty much loved every single thing about our visit to Waterfalls Cafe. --- --- --- I was curious to try Waterfalls, but despite the strong rating, I still did not have super high hopes for whatever reason. Maybe it was the location in a small strip center on a road that has been perpetually under construction. Regardless, I was proven very wrong. This place is awesome. And apparently a lot of other people have already discovered this, because on a Sunday morning, we walked in to find every table was taken. Luckily, we only had to wait a few minutes, but once we were seated, the line of people waiting got longer and longer. I should have known how much I would like this place when there were about 8 different things I was torn between on the menu. I ultimately think what I chose was the Mexican Omelette, but it may have been called something else other than an Omelette. The menu photos posted online are not up to date, so I will have to re-check the menu next time I'm in. It certainly looked like an omelette, but it came with beans and tortillas, as if it were fajitas. I piled everything into the tortillas and loved it. Meanwhile, my wife ordered her usual go-to: chicken fried steak. We both agreed that this was the best chicken fried steak we've had in our 4 months in Texas. I'd guess she has ordered it about ten other places so far. What made it the best? It was super crispy. And she really loved the flavor of the gravy. Lastly, we ordered some chocolate chip pancakes, which our son ate pretty liberally, but we also got plenty of ourselves. I read about this place on FB so my mom and I decided to give it a try after a doctor's appt.She had the fried chicken Benedict and I had a build your own skillet. Neither was very good. The chicken on her Benedict was pounded so thin, it was hard to tell that there was actually chicken in the breading. Mine had potatoes, patty sausage and scrambled eggs. It was tasteless and greasy. It didn't taste like any seasoning had been used at all. Our server was nice but the food was disappointing. The restaurant wasn't busy, and that may have made a difference in the kitchen, but the end result was tasty. The real standout on this visit though was the service. We were in fact the tacky people who walk in at closing time and the staff was great about it. Didn't have to add salsa or anything and even half the other half for tomorrow morning. (Granted chorizo makes every thing a little greasy so if you are looking for less grease go with their bacon or other meat) My husband had the sausage biscuit which came with egg and cheese, the biscuit itself you can tell is scratch made and smelled amazingly fresh out of the oven for $6! I never had high expectations for this restaurant due to its location and building, but I needed to continue my search for some tasty biscuits and gravy in the area. Upon walking inside, it is unclear whether the patron is supposed to seat himself or wait to be seated. There is not a hostess stand, just tables everywhere. Eventually a lady pointed to a table and told us where to sit. The service was decent after that. The food was ordinary. Everything was stacked on top of each other on my plate, so I had to ask for another smaller plate to move the eggs to. The big biscuit was definitely good but nothing to write home about (I will be continuing my search for tasty biscuits and gravy). Surprisingly, I was most impressed with the potatoes. It was fairly busy. Sunday morning after church crowd. Our order was taken fairly quickly but the wait for our food was very lengthy. Five other tables near us, that sat down after we ordered, ordered and received their food before we got ours. We were very close to just walking out as it was going on 45 minutes before we got our food. When it came, my eggs were barely warm and my wife's hash browns were greasy and soggy and barely warm. The manager did a courtesy check and we informed her about all the issues. She offered nothing other than a fresh order of hash browns that were hot but greasier than the first batch. Another Yelp! fine that was fantastic!! We were going nearby to look for home improvement items and found this gem with very good reviews. It's in a small strip shopping center so the parking was a little tight, but they have normal parking and some parallel spots as well. The menu is served all day, so 2 of us got some breakfast and the other 2 got burgers. They have Mexican Coke (my wife's favorite) and a variety of other drinks, but the rest of us just got water. I ordered the Meat Lovers Omelette. It comes with 4/5 meats and a choice of potatoes (hash browns for me) and bread (white toast). One kid ordered the Big Biscuit. 2 biscuits smothered in gravy with eggs and hash browns (his choice). The burgers my wife and other kid got were really big burgers. Neither ate them all, but I was happy to finish my son's and it tasted delicious. The fries were good, not great. My wife got sweet potato fries and I didn't try those. There were a few items on the menu for dessert, we agreed on fried ice cream to share. It was a large scoop of vanilla with the fried shell and it was delicious.
