Really good food. This is the first place to get my eggs right. Of course you will have to add salt and pepper to your eggs and hash browns but they are really good and you can taste the real butter. Good breakfast place. The jalapeno sausage gravy is pretty good but you can't go to wrong with breakfast. They are really nice people and they have all kinds of homemade jams. Cute place...let's start there. Ambiance very quaint, inviting...not from this side of town but definitely looks like a favorite for many peeps on that side. Service seemed a little slow, it took awhile to get our food and we only had two dishes one of which was a kids meal. Waiter was friendly and staff seemed friendly. They charged $6 for chips and salsa so just fyi...salsa was very good though, but come on...not $6 good. Kids meal was basic, $8 seemed like alot for what they got but was okay. The chorizo plate was very good, chorizo was tasty, beans were good. Bacon was nice and crisp as requested. Pretty basic breakfast. Served with tortillas....guys they weren't homemade which was a bummer, but they did their job. Coffee was good, and rootbeer float was good. This restaurant definitely has potential with some minor tweaks, but for $48 after tip, we most likely won't be returning. Just too many other places that don't charge for chips and salsa, have homemade tortillas (just my preference don't come after me), and get better quality food for your money. read more

This secret little spot is a favorite. Friendly service and lots of options on the menu. When you come in you'll be greeted with a wave from across the room and they'll tell you to sit wherever you like. Tons of breakfast items, omelets, sandwiches , burgers, enchiladas-they have it all. This a a true cafe/ diner/greasy spoon kind of place. I love their tuna sandwiches which we had during lent and the onion rings and fried green tomatoes dipped in a super duper delicious ranch dressing is out of this world. They have daily specials and their ice tea is really good. It's always crowded during peak hours but never a wait. Try it out. read more

One time I walked in and about 25 people had just ordered and I asked if they could get my food out fast as I had to be at work in 40 minutes. My family and I came here on Mother's Day for some breakfast. It was our first time here, and it was a great experience. It has a casual, homey feel, with lots of Texas decor. They also seem to make and bottle their own hot sauces and jalapeño jellies, which are available for purchase by the register. The food was delicious! I had chicken and waffles which came with cream gravy and jalapeno jelly (both on the side), and omg, the jalapeno jelly was so good! The portion size was huge, too - I couldn't even finish my meal! My husband got the Country Fried Chuckwagon Biscuit with chicken fried chicken, sausage gravy, eggs over easy, hashbrowns, and cottage cheese with peaches. He mentioned several times how delicious everything was. My daughter got the Griddle Platter with a Belgian waffle, eggs, and sausage on the side and you could smell the waffle before they even put the plate down. It smelled so good that my husband spent the entire meal jealous that he didn't get a waffle, too! Our server was extremely friendly, she came to our table and told us some jokes, which we all enjoyed. My daughter was excited to tell her a joke, too, when she came back to our table. She appeared to enjoy her job, which always makes the dining experience so much better for the customers!
