Food was mediocre at most. I got the Reuben and there was probably about three slices of corn beef on it or maybe it was pastrami and it was tough like leather. I got maybe 10 french fries. My Mom got a waffle platter and the eggs were dry and she got two pieces of sausage. It was not worth the cost and will not go there again. Only plus about it was the service was good. I like my omelette a little different than the menu shows and prefer the spinach and tomato on top and not cooked inside, no problem. They make how you want it. Been here 3 times so far mostly on Sundays after church. Parking is limited as it's in a small shopping center with other establishments but there's additional parking in the back if you aren't bothered by walking that's probably your best bet. Staff is nice enough to get the job done without overdoing it. Portions are normal, not gigantic or slim picking. Taste is a bit of a hit and miss for me simply because I haven't been impressed with the breakfast dishes but the lunch ones are solid. The grilled chicken sandwich is really good flavor wise. I've driven by this place too many times without stopping but today I pulled in for breakfast. I will tell you this was a winning move! The outside is your typical storefront, nothing that lets you know what waits inside. This Sunday morning found a full dining room, primarily the over 60 crowd who know a good bargain when they see one (no slam, I joined that club more than a few years ago). Despite a full house, people were seated at record speed with even the owner bussing tables and guiding incoming guests to open booths. The service was stellar too. Can't tell you how many times my coffee cup was refilled just know it never got below 2/3s. The owner also personally greeted every guest and appeared to know several who I assume were regulars. He personally took our order, happily modified my meal and came back to check on us. I had the biscuits and gravy minus the two eggs which I replaced with a sausage patty. I opted for the house potatoes and recommend you do the same. They are wonderfully fried with onions, soft and flavorful. I can't imagine hash browns being superior. My party also had the cowboy breakfast which featured a little of everything and was a lot of food. The breakfast menu is extensive and has something for everyone. I feel like we were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Some bugs are unavoidable, but we draw the line at roaches. A roach crawled across our table and got into the sugar holder. I placed a napkin on over it and gave it to the staff. We absolutely did not make a big deal of this, but this would turn off most people. It is Houston, and I know roaches are part of natural environment, but it's hard to enjoy food after that, and not knowing the preparation process for their food, who is to say that problem does not exist in the kitchen? The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was "ok". I think the gravy/biscuit combo was off due to the sweetness, and my wife's eggs still had some runny whites. But the whole experience was thrown for a loop the moment the roach came out, and it coincided with the delivery of our food. Might not be a problem for anyone else, hopefully it was a one in a million experience, but we are not planning to go back, which is a shame because breakfast spots that aren't crowded are hard to come by in the area. read more

The restaurant is clean and had plenty of seating at 10 AM on a Wednesday morning, although it was busy. The service was excellent- we were greeted when we came in & had an attentive server. My family and I are regulars at Waterfalls Cafe, and we love the food here. I think my family's favorite menu item is the big biscuit which is biscuits and gravy, but how Waterfalls does it is it's sausage gravy poured over one large fluffy homemade biscuit. With this, you get the choice of grits, house potatoes, or hashbrowns, as well as eggs and a meat option. This is only $12 if I remember correctly, and I feel the cost justifies what you get, the quality of food, plus this is a local small business competing with Denny's and IHop! Some other fan-favorite menu items from my family are the chicken fried steak and eggs, regular chicken fried steak, chicken tenders, and the French toast platter! Oh, don't get me started on their homemade ranch which you should definitely pair with the fried green tomatoes! If I'm being honest you probably couldn't go wrong with any of the items on his vast menu. However, what truly makes this place special is the staff and its owner, Benito! Benito has such a warm heart, he's very involved in his business, and he's not the type of boss who runs it from afar, no that's not Benito for you. He's always there cooking in the kitchen, coming out to check on guests, taking orders when necessary, doing food runs from the stores, he's doing all of it. He gives back to his community in any way possible. Anytime St. Edward Catholic Church has an activity, Benito does what he can to help the event succeed. When the Knights of Columbus have their family day, he donates food to the breakfast. For the Knights of Columbus' Chili Cook-Off benefiting the American Wheelchair Mission (all proceeds go to AWM), he donated vouchers to his restaurant to drive up ticket sales for the raffles. With the church's fall festival, also known as the St. Edward Feast Day Festival, he is one of our sponsors and food vendors. However, he doesn't charge the church for his food, he just sets up, cooks, serves the food, and all profits go to the parish. Anytime someone from my parish approaches Benito about what we have going on the first words out of his mouth are "Okay how can I help". He starts making suggestions on what he can do, and often he offers more than we were ever expecting or hoping for. Benito is also always for helping and coordinating with the other businesses in the area or in the same shopping strip as his. He's very big on helping other small businesses. If you are looking for an excuse to get out of the house, and a chance to check on this restaurant Benito is now hosting Bingo nights every Tuesday! People often don't realize he is open in the evenings on weeknights, but he is so it's a great dinner option! Also, he's open from around 6 AM - 2 PM on Saturday and Sunday, for those who want a hearty weekend breakfast, or fun brunch with the family. read more

With an average of 4 out of 5 stars rating, this FM2920 location piqued my interest enough for a dine-in. While the storefront and interior aren't that flashy, the staff that greeted me and my girlfriend were warm and friendly. While we were seated and served our opening beverages promptly, it took a little longer than expected before the waitress took our order. This was even after she had passed our booth a couple times to tend to other diners. In this respect, I would've expected her to stop by to either ask if we were ready to order or say she'd be with us shortly, since it wasn't that crowded at the time. As it turned out, it was about 10 minutes before she actually stopped to get our order. The food was served in a reasonable amount of time. While the portion size was average, the food was delicious. We shared a mushroom omelette with grits and a biscuit, but we had also decided to order the fried ice cream as well. That was a yummy treat! The owner was also kind enough to visit with us and talk about their other locations, including one in Katy that unfortunately opened right before the COVID pandemic hit full force. I greatly appreciated his time and sharing his story, so we do plan to dine in again. I hope the staff will take time to consider my comments and work toward addressing at least the above service matter. read more

We've been here many times. I went today by myself for breakfast. I had a waffle and bacon. The waffle was really good. The bacon was thick and had lots of fat. I did not like that. The waitstaff all team together it appears. I started out with a boy waiter but ended with a young girl. I paid cash, and my bill was 11.38. When she brought my change from a 20.00, she said to me that they don't have coins, so she's only giving me the bills, 8.00. She said it's only .62 cents. I told her that if they choose not to have coins, they should round down to 11.00 and I should get another dollar back. I'm sure I had a look of bewilderment on my face. Then she says, "OH, I'm sure we have coins." She hurries off and gets the rest of my change. I am disappointed because we wanted to bring our entire office here for brunch. And the owner has always seemed like a nice guy. We won't be back. This is unacceptable. read more

I was looking for a brunch or a place that served early lunches so my Dad and I could sit down to a nice meal together. I discovered Waterfalls Cafe via Yelp it's very close to our doctors office so I thought why not. The place is nicely decorated with landscape paintings that seem to be done by the same artist very pleasing to look at while waiting for your food. It's a chose your own seat kind of place. It's not really wheelchair handicap friendly but my Dad was able to get his rolling walker down to a suitable table. The menu had a lot to chose from and the young lady who took care of us stated that everything was available on the menu from breakfast to lunch. They serve Coca-Cola products so that's always a plus in my book we ordered a couple of burgers, my Dad got the classic w/ onion rings and I got the avocado burger with French fries. The burgers looked hand patted not freezer burgers. The seasoning was very delicious and oh my goodness the bread was perfect for the burgers we had. The onion rings looked and tasted hand battered, nice crust and were crispy. The fries were very tasty and had great flavor. Definitely glad we stopped in. read more

We visited this cute little cafe on a Saturday ~2:30. Very polite staff, appetizers were good (fantastic fried green tomatoes) and I ordered a burger. It came with about 3 drops of mustard and overall had very little flavor with no seasoning at all in the meat. I asked for a little more mustard and they brought me some. It still wasn't great but we were thinking it was a place we'd be willing to try again. At the end of our meal, the bill came. THEY CHARGED ME $1 FOR MUSTARD Now that's not a lot of money but completely ridiculous. This is a great lesson in how to gain one dollar and lose customers. Will not return read more

Ehhhhh, food took forever, granted, they had a large table 8-10 that had just got there. Coffee had a peculiar taste.. once food did arrive, bacon was flavorless, I asked for crispy, I got floppy , had to pull fatty portion off which amounted to me getting less than one strip of bacon total. Eggs were flavorless too, biscuits okay, dry , almost tasted like Bisquick, not much to say about house potatoes either...... breakfast is not to get right.. Delicious breakfast at an affordable price. My husband and I have been here twice already within a few weeks. We don't live close but it's one of the better bang for your bucks for breakfast. So far I love: The sunny morning I think it's called. Comes with 2 eggs, toast or biscuit, hash browns, and a meet for 5.99. The pancakes are also really tasty! You can get blueberry, cinnamon pecan, chocolate chip,'or plain. I've had the waffle which was also good but I'm more of a pancake person! My husband loves their breakfast taco and French toast. Nearly every part of the service was weak. Our initial drink order and my entree both came out wrong. So far as I can tell this might have been primarily because of my server's limited English language skills and the fact that the room is very loud. The food was otherwise what I would call typical diner fare...but the overall dining experience was not particularly enjoyable. Can't say that they did anything specific horribly wrong, but I would avoid in the future. (Ironically, I will probably go back because of my standard two-trip rule.) read more

I visited for breakfast like I imagine most people do, but they also offer several lunch items (burgers, sandwiches, salads, entrees) until 3. The interior is very simple and homey. Perusing the menu, I see they make a few homemade items including onion rings, tamales, biscuits, etc. I ended up ordering the Riverside, which is basically a breakfast platter. I really didn't see or taste anything special on items I ordered. Pancakes taste like regular pancakes. Eggs were cooked similar to how I'd make them at home. I think mine actually taste better. Bacon strips were large but nothing special as far as taste. Service was average. I still prefer the small local place in Tomball for breakfast. read more

So I am currently the Duke of Waterfalls Cafe and so obviously I've been there a time or two. This morning I went with my wife to waterfalls cafe and we saw the usual: crowded, and lots of senior citizens. So we were thinking that the food would be great like it always is. Soooo... the coffee was extremely diluted, my wife said it tasted like burned water... no big deal. However, I did get very aggregated when two tables got their food before us, and we had order before they even came in to the restaurant. I questioned the staff and they told me they had a problem in the kitchen and our food was on the way. I never appreciate being lied to. Just tell me you forgot to put my order in. So after 45 minutes and no food, we tipped $5 and left... never to return. It's quite a shame considering that we have been at the restaurant for Saturday breakfast 10 to 12 since Halloween. Started going to Waterfalls during covid time, and the best Eggs Benedicts ever is the description that my husband has said about their Eggs Benedicts. I am a little more venturesome and tried their hamburger which are very good. I could make a meal of just the bun. I have gotten several items on the list and everything they cook is very good and tasty. I will recommend them to all. Well done guys! read more
