Been here 3 times so far mostly on Sundays after church. Parking is limited as it's in a small shopping center with other establishments but there's additional parking in the back if you aren't bothered by walking that's probably your best bet. Staff is nice enough to get the job done without overdoing it. Portions are normal, not gigantic or slim picking. Taste is a bit of a hit and miss for me simply because I haven't been impressed with the breakfast dishes but the lunch ones are solid. The grilled chicken sandwich is really good flavor wise. The bread is a nice change. Add avocado to it and this is a delightful brunch item. Kids meals are plentiful and the fries are actually really tasty.. almost battered fried

I've driven by this place too many times without stopping but today I pulled in for breakfast. I will tell you this was a winning move! The outside is your typical storefront, nothing that lets you know what waits inside. This Sunday morning found a full dining room, primarily the over 60 crowd who know a good bargain when they see one (no slam, I joined that club more than a few years ago). Despite a full house, people were seated at record speed with even the owner bussing tables and guiding incoming guests to open booths. The service was stellar too. Can't tell you how many times my coffee cup was refilled just know it never got below 2/3s. The owner also personally greeted every guest and appeared to know several who I assume were regulars. He personally took our order, happily modified my meal and came back to check on us. I had the biscuits and gravy minus the two eggs which I replaced with a sausage patty. I opted for the house potatoes and recommend you do the same. They are wonderfully fried with onions, soft and flavorful. I can't imagine hash browns being superior. My party also had the cowboy breakfast which featured a little of everything and was a lot of food. The breakfast menu is extensive and has something for everyone. I hear the lunch menu is equally fabulous. I will be back for both. Driving by was just wrong!

Well, not a good day .. thought I would bring my wife.. and order a different plate vs. my regular.. well, our items were burnt ( my chorizo in the Huevos Rancheros and my wifes corned beef hash)... she wasn't impressed... and it was a ok visit... as for me, I'll stick with the Huevos al la Mexicana... which are always the best...see my pics... just my opinion..

Egg is so good ! 10/10

This is a 10/10 GREAT & welcoming space for all. The food quality here is amazing the taste is 1 of a kind. I love the staff & the food is soo good!

This was our first visit to Waterfalls Cafe! We enjoyed it and look forward to coming back again soon! We ordered the chilaquiles, liver & onions, chicken & waffles, and chocolate chip pancakes. The restaurant is clean and had plenty of seating at 10 AM on a Wednesday morning, although it was busy. The service was excellent- we were greeted when we came in & had an attentive server. Definitely try this place out!

Food was very filling with large portions. The friend chicken was perfectly crisp and so were the hashbrowns. Clean space. Plenty of parking.

With an average of 4 out of 5 stars rating, this FM2920 location piqued my interest enough for a dine-in. While the storefront and interior aren't that flashy, the staff that greeted me and my girlfriend were warm and friendly. While we were seated and served our opening beverages promptly, it took a little longer than expected before the waitress took our order. This was even after she had passed our booth a couple times to tend to other diners. In this respect, I would've expected her to stop by to either ask if we were ready to order or say she'd be with us shortly, since it wasn't that crowded at the time. As it turned out, it was about 10 minutes before she actually stopped to get our order. The food was served in a reasonable amount of time. While the portion size was average, the food was delicious. We shared a mushroom omelette with grits and a biscuit, but we had also decided to order the fried ice cream as well. That was a yummy treat! The owner was also kind enough to visit with us and talk about their other locations, including one in Katy that unfortunately opened right before the COVID pandemic hit full force. I greatly appreciated his time and sharing his story, so we do plan to dine in again. I hope the staff will take time to consider my comments and work toward addressing at least the above service matter.

This is a great local spot! We have been to both locations and ita good old diner food but the fresh! The way it should be, not like IHOP or Dennys! Their French Toast is the best!

I was looking for a brunch or a place that served early lunches so my Dad and I could sit down to a nice meal together. I discovered Waterfalls Cafe via Yelp it's very close to our doctors office so I thought why not. The place is nicely decorated with landscape paintings that seem to be done by the same artist very pleasing to look at while waiting for your food. It's a chose your own seat kind of place. It's not really wheelchair handicap friendly but my Dad was able to get his rolling walker down to a suitable table. The menu had a lot to chose from and the young lady who took care of us stated that everything was available on the menu from breakfast to lunch. They serve Coca-Cola products so that's always a plus in my book we ordered a couple of burgers, my Dad got the classic w/ onion rings and I got the avocado burger with French fries. The burgers looked hand patted not freezer burgers. The seasoning was very delicious and oh my goodness the bread was perfect for the burgers we had. The onion rings looked and tasted hand battered, nice crust and were crispy. The fries were very tasty and had great flavor. Definitely glad we stopped in.

Actually, they have a good size menu and have some American options along with juices and smoothies so It made ordering easy. They also have a full bar with several cocktails and mocktails. Inside right when you enter is the actual bar with about 6 seats which were full with customers during my entire visit. Their happy hour ends at 6pm, but I arrived at 7pm so I ended up missing the discounted drinks. I ordered the cod and shrimp pita which ended up being slightly different than the regular gyro. I had to set it down after a couple of bites since the wheat pita bread is much thinner than regular pita bread and it kept falling apart on me. I also added a mango mojito. With a name like Island Grill, I sort of expected to see more tropical drinks or rum-based cocktails show up on the menu, but this was about the only one. Overall, my experience was okay, but I don't know if it was good enough for me to return.

Red and white checkered vinyl tablecloths and booths that have seen a lot of action, this place is unchanged for who knows how long. Okay, as an Italian that loves to cook, I will say this place is catering to its older generation and overly cautious about its use of seasoning., and their paper cost. (We've asked for napkins 3 times now) I don't think they even salt the water for the potatoes or macaroni because both of these sides are blah. The black eyes peas were creamy and good ( and yes, I had to add salt to these too, but thats a given) once I got the salt right, I loved them. The portions were big enough of the fried catfish and the sliced beef that we could have shared one of those entrees, but we both wanted something different. Overall, great place, definitely recommend.

Thick-cut, crispy, and full of flavor--hands down the best thing on the table. The smokehouse platter was more than enough food for two people. The brisket sliders were tender and flavorful, the wings were great, the pickled peppers were a nice touch, and the ribs were finger-licking good. The only downside was the potato skins--they were just meh compared to everything else. Overall, great food, great service, and a really nice atmosphere. A while later, a different server/bartender asked if you want drinks we requested a coffee again. We had to request various items multiple times from multiple people before they were actually brought over to us. No big deal, we weren't in any particular rush, but have you ever gotten that feeling like you're bothering the server every time you ask for something? That was that feeling. I was still eating when we were handed our check. We paid. We were planning on staying for mimosas after eating, so we asked for 2 mimosas we were handed our drinks with a check. Again, the place was not busy, to the extent that the staff was hanging out and talking in a group. (That doesn't bother me, we all deserve some adult conversation.) We felt in the way so we paid and decided to go elsewhere for some mimosas. FOOD: I had the waffle with a side of bacon. Waffle was served warm, crisp & soft as a waffle should be. It was nice and thick and a great size, plus it was delicious! I couldn't finish it, I was soo full! The pecan butter was scrumptious and the berries were fresh and sweet. Both in great proportion to the waffle. The bacon was crispy and served warm. Overall a delicious and plentiful breakfast. CLEANLINESS: The place was clean, clean. Weather was good so opted to eat on their empty patio. I was told that the Carolina shrimp and grits were out of this world. So i got that. Saw their chicken fried steak was American wagyu and won some award. So my kid got that. For the 2 Sides that come with the steak my kid chose mashed potatoes and gravy and regular mac and cheese. Yawn. Sooo Boring. They actually have a bacon and jalepeno version of the Mac and cheese that sounded pretty tasty but my kid just can't handle spice sadly. Reminds me of those peeps ordering vanilla ice cream at Baskin Robbin's 31 flavors when I worked there. I mean, 31 flavors. Ya can't even do French vanilla? Sheesh. The batter on the steak separated from the meat quite easily which made it a bit difficult to eat. But who cares when it tastes that good. Size was impressive - like the size of my face. Loved the white gravy that comes with it. And I gotta admit the ordinary Mac and Cheese was pretty darn cheesy. Now the raffle winner announcer had mentioned this place has awesome shrimp and grits. I had read mixed reviews about the shrimp and grits. And on top of that I'm not much of a grits guy. But I had to try it, just for ya'll, cuz that's what us AllStars do. I gotta agree with many of the online reviewers that the taste of the grits in of themselves is kinda bland as has been my experience with every grits dish I've ever had. Which is why I don't like grits in the first place. And ya know what, there's a whole lot of grits on this plate. Like a big ol' mound of it. Like the Close Encounters mashed potatoes scene. So big in fact that they don't even bother giving you any sides with this and only this particular entree. Texture kinda reminded me of my kid's mashed potatoes. But I did like the other parts of the dish like the shrimp and sausage and even the sauce. So you just really gotta plan each spoonful of this dish, to make sure you get at least some of the topping or sauce with each and every bite of grits. Otherwise the blandness of the grits can overwhelm. For desert we got the banana pudding. My kid is in this banana phase right now. It's like bringing a Minion around with me wherever I eat. Like grits, I've never been a huge banana fan. But I gotta say, this dessert was pretty tasty. And it came in a small tub which impressed. Staff and ambience were wonderful. And they're selling gift cards right now like most restaurants. Would definitely come back someday even without a gift card.
