This one is hard, because I want to give 5 stars. The food is incredible. The staff are friendly. The atmosphere is clean and inviting. Space is open and doesn't feel crowded, even when it's busy. So what's the downside? Price. I've got a family of five, so I get it, everywhere is pricey. But I just wrapped up a three week vacation out to Utah and Nevada and realized meals that cost $50 for everyone aren't that uncommon. But breakfast here? Easily $100. That's a hard pill to swallow. But oh man it's a tasty pill. Alright, money aside, this place does food profiles right. My latest trip here I got the Maple Bacon Croissant Sandwich. It's a seasonal item, and I'm sad about that, because it was phenomenal. To start, the croissant isn't croissant shaped, it's round like a bun but has the croissant layers, and it has good structure so it doesn't just disappear when you squeeze it. Fried egg, sausage patty, and then two solves of million dollar bacon, apricot jam, and house made pickled jalapeños. Now, I'm not a fan of pickled jalapeños, but these were good! Trust me. I'd order out again in a second. If you're reading this and it's still on the menu, do yourself the favor. I really dig the spicy/sweet/salty combo and this sandwich knocks it out the park. It's coupled with the skillet potatoes, which are always my favorite. Well seasoned, crispy, fried golden with onion, they're great. I've been here many, many times, and all their food is top notch. Took a friend for breakfast for her birthday today. Started out with the pomegranate sunrise. And the million dollar bloody Mary. Wonderful choices. I got the ham and gruyere omelette. Added onion and mushroom.(a bit surprised to see each were an additional $.99.) it was very good but a tad dry. The wheatberry toast was delicious and so were the potatoes. Reading some of the reviews, I think there is a misconception about this being a "health" restaurant. While there are certainly healthy choices like egg whites, wheat germ, and fresh juices. And nutritional alternatives, like gluten free, dairy free, etc. However, this is also a stick to your ribs, homestyle, wish my grandma cooked this way restaurant with delightful plays on classic favorites. The AM Superfood was dynamite. And the Parma Hash was great, however my eggs were over cooked. Don't skip on getting the million dollar bacon. I was lucky enough to be able to go to the opening friends and family event. I didn't realize it but I was surprised to find out that the food was complimentary that day. We weren't expecting this so this review is based solely off of the food and service. FOOD: I am on a restricted diet at the moment so it was important for me to find something that had a lot of variety to it and this place did not disappoint. We tried 4 different food options including kids meals and I felt all had enough food to satisfy us. ATMOSPHERE: Atmosphere here feels pretty cool but at the same time cozy and it isn't too assuming I think most people would be comfortable here. SERVICE: Normally under regular circumstances I might dock a star for service here. The waiter was fine with the exception of literally no happiness or hospitality. Literally not even a smile basically. We did get our food and with the exception of a mishap with the bill the wrong one being given to us we really don't have any complaints except for just really not enjoying the service. VALUE: I was honestly shocked at how affordable this place was. I never had the opportunity to go to a first watch before and was expecting for the quality of the food to pay much more. Lately you can even go to a Denny's without spending $80 it feels like. We did order a cocktail and it was modestly priced at only $8 for their house bloody Mary. I really feel like this place is a good value for good food. LOCATION location is in the marketplace of Conroe and very conveniently located however it is a shared parking lot that definitely does get quite busy so that could be a challenge for many. Stopped in for the first time today and was thoroughly impressed. Snooze is my usual go to for breakfast and now I'm glad I have a closer, equally delicious spot to bring into the mix. Our server, Corey, provided great service and was on the ball with pre-bussing and speedy drinks. From the bar, we tried the Bloody Mary, the mimosa, and the pomegranate sunrise. All of them were delicious and fresh. My lady and I tried the million dollar bacon and the bacon cheddar cornbread for starters. Both were delicious. I had the SWEET HONEY PECAN SALAD, Organic mixed greens, romaine, chicken breast, bacon, toasted pecans, avocado, tomatoes, and carrots with Cheddar and Monterey Jack. Drizzled with warm honey Dijon dressing (which was beyond good). It was hands down a dang scrumptious salad. Hubby had the ROAST BEEF & HAVARTI, roast beef, Horseradish Havarti cheese, roasted onions, and tomato with lemon-dressed arugula on grilled Parmesan-crusted sourdough. Horseradish sauce on the side. I love the First Watch in The Woodlands, but this time we were in Conroe and decided to try it. At the entrance, I had to do a "check in" where they asked me for my phone number. There were many tables open, the check in was unnecessary. Asking for my phone number sounded ridiculous to me, especially if I am not going anywhere. Drinks took forever, only to get a flat soda with ice (after I clearly asked for no ice). I asked for another one because of it being flat, without ice and they brought it with ice . I had to change to a different drink. My sandwich was smothered in mayo, my hands were covered in greasy mayo. In the photo you can see all the mayo I removed from the outside of the sandwich. 10 minutes after we were served, our waitress brought us our ticket, I really dislike this move. Once she did that, getting a refill for our drinks became impossible, she had closed her service for us. So now i have to go stand in line to pay for my meal after I just ate in a loud and chaotic place. This location does not feel like they have it under control, the ambiance felt chaotic and really loud. I do not recommend this restaurant and it is highly unlikely I will come back. The one in The Woodlands is the exact opposite. read more

Excellent Breakfast. Recently we read that First Watch was opening a new location in Conroe, TX. They have a location in the Woodlands, but while I have lived here about 3 years, I never visited that spot. My wife signed up for email updates, and a couple of weeks ago, we got an invitation to enjoy a pre-opening breakfast, the day before their official opening. We decided to give it a try. (In full disclosure, all of the food that day was complimentary, but we gave a generous tip, and a donation to the Montgomery County Food bank in lieu of the charge for the food.) The menu is varied and impressive. Cage Free Eggs, responsibly sourced coffee, etc. I decided to try the breakfast tacos. You get 3 of them with Chicken, Chorizo and Cheese. I am a picky eater, and asked for no avocado, or Pico de gallo. The order arrived exactly as ordered. The taste was excellent, the eggs were very fresh tasting, and I was pleased that the chorizo was not too salty or overpowering. These were some of the best breakfast tacos I have had. My wife ordered the French Toast. She was very happy with it. She has a side of bacon, which she specified "Crispy", and it came as ordered. I also decided to try the Million Dollar Bacon. This is 4 strips of thick cut bacon, seasoned with brown sugar, pepper and maple syrup. It was outstanding. My wife had the regular coffee, which was flavorful, but not bitter. I had the cold brew, and I agree, it was very good. My wife also tried one of the fruity refresher drinks, which she liked. Often when you go to a restaurant that is just opening, the service may not be up to snuff. I am happy to say that was not an issue here. There were First Watch training representatives supervising, and we were well attended to. Overall it was a great experience. I am pleased that we got this addition to our other breakfast restaurants in Conroe. Without naming names, there are a couple of places in the Woodlands that offer a great breakfast. The local places in Conroe, are OK. but not up to this level. It is nice to be able to get this kind of experience locally. We will definitely be back!
