The FOOD was hot & outstanding from the well prepared eggs whether poached or over-easy. Next the Banana Granola Pancake flavor profile was spot on for homemade banana bread and a Belgian Waffle delivered wonderful flavor. We enjoyed the butcher shop quality and flavor in each Pork Sausage Link. Now don't forget the 100% Cold Squeezed Orange Juice with Pulp tasted like it was just picked off the tree and the coffee had a smooth, slightly robust flavor! Excellent Breakfast. Recently we read that First Watch was opening a new location in Conroe, TX. They have a location in the Woodlands, but while I have lived here about 3 years, I never visited that spot. My wife signed up for email updates, and a couple of weeks ago, we got an invitation to enjoy a pre-opening breakfast, the day before their official opening. We decided to give it a try. (In full disclosure, all of the food that day was complimentary, but we gave a generous tip, and a donation to the Montgomery County Food bank in lieu of the charge for the food.) The menu is varied and impressive. Cage Free Eggs, responsibly sourced coffee, etc. I decided to try the breakfast tacos. You get 3 of them with Chicken, Chorizo and Cheese. I am a picky eater, and asked for no avocado, or Pico de gallo. The order arrived exactly as ordered. The taste was excellent, the eggs were very fresh tasting, and I was pleased that the chorizo was not too salty or overpowering. These were some of the best breakfast tacos I have had. My wife ordered the French Toast. She was very happy with it. She has a side of bacon, which she specified "Crispy", and it came as ordered. I also decided to try the Million Dollar Bacon. This is 4 strips of thick cut bacon, seasoned with brown sugar, pepper and maple syrup. It was outstanding. My wife had the regular coffee, which was flavorful, but not bitter. I had the cold brew, and I agree, it was very good. My wife also tried one of the fruity refresher drinks, which she liked. Often when you go to a restaurant that is just opening, the service may not be up to snuff. I am happy to say that was not an issue here. There were First Watch training representatives supervising, and we were well attended to. Overall it was a great experience. I am pleased that we got this addition to our other breakfast restaurants in Conroe. Without naming names, there are a couple of places in the Woodlands that offer a great breakfast. The local places in Conroe, are OK. but not up to this level. It is nice to be able to get this kind of experience locally. We will definitely be back! Went this morning and had an awesome experience. The gingerbread spiced donuts were slightly dry but the sauce saved them and they were so good. Had a delicious fresh juice my goodness y'all have to try it. It was the citrus hibiscus punch. The elevated egg sandwich was tasty and nicely done potatoes. Carrot cake pancake didn't even need syrup, quite well done. My friend got the tacos which she liked but there was literally one single small cut of avocado like not even a slice in one of her tacos and then two small cubes in the other. The side she ordered so she could add more was three thicker slices and costs $2.75. That's all I'm gonna say about that lol. We had an incredible server! I feel terrible I am blanking her name but she was extremely attentive, running around, super pleasant and friendly. I would want her to be my server every time. This little spot is great for breakfast! It's a clean, contemporary, barn-style ambience, the staff is friendly and upbeat. I ordered orange juice which came in a big glass. I also had the biscuits and turkey sausage gravy. The menu shows it with eggs but you can order the side biscuits and gravy. It hit the spot! I typically have to add salt and pepper to my white gravy. Not even necessary. It was perfectly flavored. The only thing different I would have liked was more sausage but we're big meat eaters in my family so that is a personal preference. The server did say that I could order extra turkey on the side in the future. I finished off with the mint mocha iced coffee which was creamy and flavorful. I will be back again! read more
