Had an excellent experience here. The burger was really good, juicy, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. You can tell care goes into it. The onion rings were clearly made from scratch, crispy on the outside and tender inside, not the frozen kind at all. Save room for dessert because the banana pudding was amazing and easily one of the highlights of the meal. On top of all that, the service was excellent! So delicious !!! The inside of this building gives amazing throwback vibes the checkers tile lets you know you're having a great homemade burger. The service is great they explain the menu with detail you can almost add any toppings you like I am definitely going back for a nice thick burger. This place is a gem. Me and my bf pickup dinner from here about 3-4 times a week. The food is so fresh and just tastes of the best quality. The establishment itself is like from a movie, old timey and just has that cozy feel. The owner and workers are always so kind. The owner always gives me a taste tester of things I haven't tried and I love that cause it opens up different options for me. I usually get the BLT, chicken fajita salad, chicken bacon ranch sandwich, deli sandwich or burger. Lots to choose from!! The Cajun fried turkey is unreal as well. So good. More than ham, this Conroe hangout featured massive home cooked burgers, customized as you order with choice of bread and a variety of add ins. I overshot ordering a double that was well beyond my capacity to eat in one sitting. These burgers are the real deal. Sides are pretty awesome too, battered onion rings arrive hot and crunchy. The two ladies working the front of the house are personable and efficient. Beware this restaurant looks more like a specialty ham store and less attractive than the Culver's sharing the same parking lot. I got the double meat burger basket with fries and drink. I will say I was a little taken a back by the price I ended up paying about 18 dollars and some change. Cost aside I very much appreciated the meal being made to order. I thought the fries were okay I personally would've like a bit of salt on them but just as they were I'm not mad at it. The burger on the jalapeno bun was pretty good nothing like that just blew me away but it's definitely not your "fast food" burger it was grilled well tasted great buns held up well and didn't get to soggy. Overall I would give the meal 7.5 out of 10 with my biggest complaint being the price but that could be because of the large drink/bread choice. I would definitely go back here for their afternoon combo meal. Hope this review helps anyone who is on the fence about trying it. I think you should. I always heard of this place when I started working in Conroe, decided I would try it out one day. Customer service was great, the atmosphere was nice as well, and the food was amazing!!! It's rare nowadays to see a hardworking employee unless its an owner, but to make your place succeed, this is exactly what needs to happen. Gone are the days of hiring a few kids and expecting them to actually act right and do a job unsupervised. The guy here was quick and efficient, no nonsense. Some might consider his customer service skills a bit clipped, not a great bedside manner, so to speak, but its lunchtime and he needs to move people thru the line, while making sure the new hire figures out how to cup up sliced onions and put them on a tray. He was running the register, not only to make sure the order is taken correctly, but quickly and correctly make change. All of the employees over the age of 40 were moving with purpose. Spend any amount of time around young employees these days and you will understand why i am making such a big deal of this. I always love when there is a restaurant in the middle of a very small strip mall center. This one has been on top of cleanliness, service, price, and, value. Today I got the club sandwich without lettuce or tomato and was very pleased to find that they did not add that ridiculous extra piece of bread in the middle of a sandwich in order to save cost on giving me a very meaty sandwich! The drink station is rarely clean and I don't recommend taking a chance with the "fresh" ice tea. THE BEST BURGER EVER!!! Truly a departure from any burger I've ever had! The fries are good but the onion rings are amazing! I have tried many variations and have come to my favorite of jalapeño bun with jalapeño jack cheese all the fixins minus onions. And it's heaven on a bun!!! My sons favorite place since they were in high school and they're 30 and 26! My youngest comes into town and that where he wants to go! I've had the salad With grilled chicken and it was good.
