Citizens Grill is the place you go to when you got fussy eaters in your party; there's a little something for everyone! Especially if they have pets. Went here with family, some of whom have culinary opinions :-) I noticed that everyone found a few things with which they were comfortable and with which they were thrilled! The steak brochets, medium rare, were tasty bits of really good steak, not some lesser pieces of meat whacked onto a skewer. The sides are varied, from grilled asparagus to jalapeno mac and cheese to mushroom risotto. It was a mix and match feast! There's a pastry chef who comes in daily and does sweet wonders. That's why the dessert menu is a separate document, updated daily. Even those span a wide breath and satisfied even those of us who do not have a sweet tooth . We always come here every so often, usually a weekday date night. It's never failed us, service, food ... always excellent. I think everything we've ever had is fantastic. I try different things, my wife is in love with the salmon, but she samples my picks, sometimes swaps! Last nite we had Salmon for her and I had the Grilled Redfish, also the corn muffins. My wife and I swapped sides she's not an asparagus fan and it's my fav... she took my veggies. Both plates come with rice! We both had no lunch so we were super ready to eat, we skipped the appetizers... and our food was out so fast that was perfect! It was excellent! The portions are just right. You can't go wrong here so dine in, I have yet to try their burgers but two tables nearby did, next time have to try one because they looked really good., in fact they looked just like the picture in the menu good! First of all I WILL say that the food is wonderful here, IF your server actually brings it warm. We were patrons at this establishment this weekend for dinner and had THE WORST service EVER. Our waitress took forever to greet us, forgot half our drinks which we didn't get until our appetizers were out. Our entrees all came out super late and cold. She never offered us drink refills but was taking pictures for other tables. This was the most u attentive server I've ever had at a restaurant. We asked to speak to a manager who expressed the server was "newish" (whatever that means, and why would you have a "new" server take a busy weekend night shift without a shadow that's so stupid) and this server had the audacity to stand and eavesdrop and NOT TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY for her bad service, zero apology. I don't recommend coming here for dinner. 0/10. read more

You know, you are always in search of the next best thing, when that happens you forget about the tried and true really excellent places that really deserve the recognition. We come here every now and then, but after a string of mediocre places, Citizens Grill stands out. 1st of all, service is 2nd to none. Ask for Jim, you will not be disappointed. He was attentive, patient and informative. Inside, it's a classic pub like setting, a little music in the background, where one can hear and have conversations easily. The food has always been prepared well and served in portions that are more than appropriate. We had the loaded potato soup, carpaccio salad, jalapeño, bacon mac and cheese balls and a large chicken fries steak with fries, mushroom risotto and Brussel sprouts with a balsamic glaze and bacon. The fries are real potato fries, perfect. The risotto was phenomenal and I love the sprouts. Just sayin, but the drinks aren't bad either. Honestly, with the string of less than acceptable experiences, this was great and a very useful reminder to stick with what you know. It's ok to experiment, but I left very satisfied and renewed in my faith in restaurants after this visit. read more

We decided that we had to come here for our Christmas Eve dinner. We have been here several times and it has become our absolute favorite restaurant. As usual, I had to get the double bone in pork chop. By far the best chop I've had, nice and thick with a a delicious bacon jam glaze sauce. My wife got her favorite the Citizens Chicken and our son got a big 1/2 lb burger. The service here has always been great. The servers are very attentive and we've never had to ask for a refill or anything. We love this place and will keep coming back. read more

Citizens Grill has that clubby, dark wood atmosphere that makes you want to hang out there with your secret-agent friends. I started with a draft beer, of which there is an admirable selection. For a late lunch, I had the fried fish with French fries, while my companion had a serviceable hamburger. The fish was delightful, except for what I considered the over salting of the fries. It wasn't a big deal, because I was able to brush off some of the offending seasoning. Our very professional waiter offered to bring out a substitute side. It was a welcome and impressive offer, but I declined, since the fries were still edible. It's a nice place to stop if you're in the area. read more

Great food, great service, great place! Had the BBQ Bacon cheeseburger and it did not disappoint. The jalapeno cream cheese was amazing and really set the burger apart from any other of it's kind. After a recommendation from my mom, who typically only enjoys chain restaurants, I knew I had to try Citizens Grill. It was fairly busy on a Saturday night, but the service was still great! The mashed potatoes were not up my alley as I typically enjoy creamy, buttery potatoes. However, the rest of the food was exceptional. I had a Caesar salad and fettuccine alfredo. One of favorites on 1488 (Woodson's) was about a 45 min wait last night (Friday), so we headed further west to Citizens Grill. I saw they had jalapeño Mac-n-cheese so I thought we should try it. It's in a little shopping strip with other restaurants but there was still plenty of parking. The wait was about 20 minutes. They have a very nice bar with a lot of local beers. All of the service was great. From the bartender getting my drink while we waited for our table, to the waiters and waitress that served us. The food was really good. Not great, but really good. I would go back for the food but I know Republic Grille and they (IMO) have the best CFS and jalapeño Mac and cheese around. But Citizens has very comparable food and prices. With drinks and desserts and tip we left having paid around $100 for my family of four. Add $1 for a scoop of Blue Bell with your desserts. read more

Came here on Sunday when they opened for a ladies brunch. The hostess was super kind and helped us find the best seating possible for our group (since one of my friends was bringing her baby girl and we needed extra room). I also found our server to be very attentive and sweet as well. I ordered a glass of red wine and was pleasantly surprised by their hearty wine pour (I feel like most places give you a large glass and hardly pour any wine into it). I ordered their signature chicken dish "Citizens Chicken" with a side Caesar salad and the vegetable medley. I was surprised when the entrée arrived that the piece of chicken was so tiny- and was left wishing I ordered pasta or potatoes for the sides so I would be full. I ended up ordering a bread pudding for dessert because I was still very hungry after polishing off my entrée. My friends ordered sandwiches which were HUGE, so maybe that's the best way to go here unless you are not very hungry. I came in for dinner today 4/23 at around 5:30, we were sat and given menus by the hostess. However, we sat for 20 mins and no one came by to take our order. Other tables around us were being serviced and we were just ignored. No one came to offer us water or take our order. We weren't able to get anyone's attention despite it not being busy. Eventually, my husband and I ended up leaving and going to the oyster bar next door. We were both really excited about trying their food as we live in the area. We decided to stop in after seeing pictures on Yelp! It is located at the end of a strip center. Very plain looking on the outside but a complete transformation when you walk in!! There are mesh screens that are pulled down to block the wind! Huge fans on the ceiling give a cool breeze with lighting strung up on the beams! Great ambiance!!! I started with a 9oz Pinot Grigio and decided on the spinach and artichoke dip! In the description it mentioned Gouda cheese and it really transformed the dish! The Smokey flavor really came through!! And the garlic toast companies it perfectly! The portion is huge!! It is just me and my mom and this app could easily feed 5 people! We decided to split the Citizens Chicken and chose the cream corn and mushroom risotto to for our two sides! Oh my word!! The cream corn was hot and perfectly creamy wi a kick from the jalapeños! The mushroom risotto was also grant and perfect!! Mushrooms added a great texture!! Now the chicken!!! So juicy when you cut into it!! The goat cheese on top had begun to melt perfectly! I dined here with my husband on Christmas Eve as we had an empty nest and an evening to spare. Up front I will say, I wanted to love this place. The first time I went, the service was poor, but the food was ok. Second time drove the nail in the coffin and I'll never return. The food was ok, but the service was once again very poor. That wasn't the problem, however. A large sliver of glass was located in my water. "How" you ask. Well, I drank it. Luckily, I caught it before swallowing and, as soon as I could get the attention of staff, advices them of my discovery. They bartenders immediately "killed" the ice at the bar (exactly as they should), but made no attempt to replace the other drinks they had made using the same ice. Eventually, more pieces of glass were found in other drinks. A manager did make it out to speak to me, but seemed mostly unconcerned. They comped my drink but not my meal, which kind of struck me as odd. The best part of all of this was how I listened to the bartender complain to a table about the lack of tips he had been receiving while I held the glass in my hand, waiting to get someone's attention. For Appetizers, we had both the calamari & the creamy spinach artichoke dip. The calamari was seasoned well and super crispy. I'm not the biggest spinach artichoke dip fan but the wife is. I tried it and it was delicious. I'm a fan or theirs! For the main course, we split the lobster pasta. So cheesy and loaded with lobster.
