Up front I will say, I wanted to love this place. The first time I went, the service was poor, but the food was ok. Second time drove the nail in the coffin and I'll never return. The food was ok, but the service was once again very poor. That wasn't the problem, however. A large sliver of glass was located in my water. "How" you ask. Well, I drank it. Luckily, I caught it before swallowing and, as soon as I could get the attention of staff, advices them of my discovery. They bartenders immediately "killed" the ice at the bar (exactly as they should), but made no attempt to replace the other drinks they had made using the same ice. Eventually, more pieces of glass were found in other drinks. A manager did make it out to speak to me, but seemed mostly unconcerned. They comped my drink but not my meal, which kind of struck me as odd. The best part of all of this was how I listened to the bartender complain to a table about the lack of tips he had been receiving while I held the glass in my hand, waiting to get someone's attention. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

Incredible menu with made from scratch food. The lunch specials during the week are $10. Friday I had shrimp and came back for the Wednesday chicken fried steak. I couldn't eat it all. We are coming back on date night for the steak. A helpful hint: no kids in bar area, great place to take your meal. read more

This place has surprised me so much. I have eaten here 5 times in the last 2 weeks. I have tried so much and loved it all! The fish tacos are amazing and HUGE! The bruschetta is literally the best I have ever had. This salad was super good also! I haven't taken a ton of photos but this place is good. The best expresso martini also! read more

7/15/19-The flavor of my pork chop was delicious. I really liked the glaze. It could have been a little juicier on the inside. The potatoes and green beans were delicious. My husband got the avocado BLT with fries. He had plenty to eat. He would have gotten the shrimp tacos if he would have had the choice of flour tortillas instead of corn. Ricardo came to our table a little too often, but I guess it's better than constantly having to look for your waiter. The only downside is that the menu is a little limited, but we will definitely be back. 7/15/20-My chopped salad was good. Ordered it with bacon. Disappointed that it was bacon bits. I thought it would be sliced up bacon. Reminded me of Costco's bacon bits. No Applewood smoked bacon liked the menu states. read more

Our office Christmas party was booked here. Usually, I dread these things because the poor waitress has an impossible task of keeping everyone happy, which is next to impossible. I wish I could remember her name. Our waitress was awesome! She definitely was on top of things and displayed absolutely confidence. The food was great, but the service was even better!! Also, the manager came by and thanked us for choosing them. Y'all go by and give them some business! The tenderloin beef tips were amazing with jalapeño bacon macaroni and cheese and green beans. One of the coworkers had shrimp and grits and said it was really good!! read more

I love supporting local restaurants, and we will be back again for sure! We all shared the spinach artichoke dip and it was SO GOOD! Good food and attentive service. It is our go to place when we go out to eat. Choice of areas to sit depending on how you are feeling.

This is a really nice bar/restaurant, comfy and casual and with excellent food. The menu is fairly long, from ambitious steaks and seafood to burgers and wings. After four visits we've only counted one miss-step, but everything else has been so good we let it go. Some things we've tried that are excellent include their tortilla soup, chef's salad with or without salmon, bacon jam sliders, mashed potatoes, and fish & chips. The one miss-step which still has us scratching our heads are the grilled chicken wings. They're perfectly grilled, juicy with a crunchy coat, but served dry - no hot sauce. So they taste...dry. We asked for some hot sauce, the waitress admitted that's a common request, and in 10 minutes was back with the perfect buffalo wings hot sauce - 50% butter and 50% Frank's hot sauce. Once we'd coated the wings they were delicious, dipped in the blue cheese that came with the original wings. There's a great indoor/outdoor patio room here so it's fun on nice days, and the inside is dark-wood clubby. So far we've had nothing but bright, cheery, attentive waitresses, which is increasingly rare these days. Put it all together and this is a very good restaurant, certainly worth returning to on a regular basis for lunch or dinner. read more

Wow! The atmosphere first of all. You walk in and don't want to leave. Traveling back to Dallas we stopped for dinner. Very professional staff. Now to the food! I ordered a small meal and at that was overwhelmed at the portion. Delicious of course. My wife's meal same. In fact we both commented even after leaving how satisfying it was. Made me want to move close by just to be a regular. Looking forward to trying it again. read more

First trip in but we came with an extremely large group and we're very happy to find out that they were able to handle our own private room, deal with all of our different tastes. Everyone was very pleased with their food, and our server, Jenny, was out of this world! read more

They changed the menu when the ownership changed and removed several of the items. The wait staff is hit and miss. One time we ordered and waited over an hour. When we got our waiters attention he looked shocked and realized he forgot to put our order in. The Republic Grill is far superior. read more

Let me start with the positive - went for Sunday brunch. Great atmosphere, excellent music playing at a reasonable volume, incredible menu items, solid service. We suspect they filter their water, which is a huge plus! I really had high hopes for this place but it fell short of expectations. We ordered calamari to start and it was average at best. Both the breading and the squid were very bland. The temperature of the frying oil may not have been hot enough because the breading held onto a ton of oil. The accompanying pepper sauce was delicious, though. We ordered the Citizens Chicken, no goat cheese with a side of Brussels Sprouts and the Citizens Benedict. The chicken came out with cheese and the Citizens Benedict was cold. The server promptly checked on us and sent both dishes back to get remade. The manager immediately came out to apologize and ensure we were taken care of. She also brought our dishes back out. The chicken was made as requested this time. The Brussels sprouts tasted great but were not hot. The Citizens Benedict was unimpressive - asparagus and potatoes were lukewarm this time and the eggs Benedict was warm (still not hot by any means.) The Benedict had a great flavor and they do a hollandaise well. The potatoes were seasoned well but were very soft instead of crispy. Based on our experience, I assume the food is not fresh and made to order but instead, premade and assembled to order. We initially planned to try their amazing looking desserts but after allowing them to remake our food and still falling short, we passed and went to Bruster's for ice cream instead. The place definitely has potential - fantastic atmosphere, great menu ideas, some good flavors, very good service. They just need to work on quality control over what comes out of the kitchen. read more

Went in and sat down in an empty restaurant only to have to holler and call for waiter multiple times after approximately 15minutes someone comes to tell us they do not have what is listed on the menu for 2-3 different items. SO, just got an appetizer. The food was subpar and my father's fell apart...nobody came to check up on us during the entire meal. After eating our meal we had to wait to pay. To pay the business we had to wait. To give someone business it just seems so disrespectful and rude and bad for business. I highly do not recommend. read more

I love this place more every time I eat here. Fantastic menu. The shrimp and grits I just had were the best ever. You can't go wrong either inside or outside. It can be relatively quiet which I really appreciate. Ivd almost always had no problem getting a table right away. Very broad menu. Service is top notch. read more

Always tasty. We love the citizens chicken! The jalapeño mac and cheese is yummy!!! The caesar salad is really really good. Chicken tender plate is definitely shareable. Comes with two sides and gravy. Oh the potato chip fries are amazing too! Great value and good food! read more

Second visit and it just keeps getting better! The first visit was on day two. Food was great, but they were working with a limited menu and servers were learning the ropes. Two weeks later and they are running on all cylinders. Food is excellent, menu is well rounded and service was on spot. I glanced into their bar area and it is 'Prohibition' style. Looks upscale yet relaxing, but I cannot comment on the drinks or cliental as it was too early. If you like food and ambiance of Republic Grill and the FM 1488 convenience of Tailgater's, give Citizen's Gill a try. read more

They have a lot of varieties of different types of food at a pretty fair price. I like to go here and recently had company and took them there for dinner and they were very impressed with the menu and the food that they ordered. I recommend this place because they have such a good variety and if you have a thirst for an alcoholic beverage, you can get that too, keep in mind they stay pretty busy but service has always been good. I live right across the street so I go there fairly often and choose this as one of my favorite places to meet up with friends. read more

Great American food..... always top quality! The peppered green beans are my fave! You gotta go there!

Large portions fairly priced and vast selection of drinks. We'll recommend for family and friends.

Used to love this place, but the menu was changed, eliminating many of our favorites. Yet the servers are always first class!

Erika is so amazing! Even thou they took brushetta off the menu she recommended the spinach dip and it was to die for. I have been to several high end restaurants and Erika makes you feel like that's where you're at! The food is always amazing here, but the service is usually "regular". I had a great experience. This evening was amazing! read more

Have been here many times. After visit there this week it may be a while before we visit again. Looks like they cut the menu in half, they also had many different sides with the meal, now each meal selection has a side preselected. Was really surprised by this change. Citizens Grill - Fried shrimp, Mac and cheese, and sweet potatoes Grautin - American Near Me - Conroe, Texas

Not impressed with the quality of the food. I ordered shrimp tacos in lettuce wrap and the lettuce was brown on the edges. You can count 2 to 3 shrimps per taco. It was more slaw than anything. Husband had the chopped salad. He's still looking for the bacon. As appetizer we had the meatball. While the taste was just 'ok' the texture was quite dense! First time here and I was not impressed. It didn't help that service was slow and there were only 3 tables. Don't know if I'll return. read more

We had been to Citizens Grill for their burgers and they were really good. My husband and I decided to venture off the burger menu and we were so pleased! We are looking forward to going back. We also had a lovely server named Grace. She was perfect. Great recommendations and great service. read more

Service was not up to par tonight. The food at CG is always good. Not so for the service tonight. Did not refill our water glasses. Did not remove the plates prior to presenting the bill. The food is great. Fresh quality product. Our visit started off very nice with a great greet from the host and quick visit from our server for a drink order. After that service suffered and was too slow for our liking. It seemed there were two managers on duty. One in jeans who seemed to always be working and another in gray slacks trying very hard to make the guest in the establishment invisible. Our server got lost after taking our drink order for about ten minutes. Our food came out quickly but the check back took too long. Then my husband had to get up and physically find out server to cash out. He found her getting hit on by the manager in the gray slacks. Absolutely ridiculous! read more
