This place was pretty good! Drinks were priced well and food was overall great. Brisket grilled cheese was good, better with ranch. The salad was alright for a salad! The wraps were good too! Wings were amazingggg, well cooked and pretty spicy (mild and mango habenero). Would recommend coming here again. Good place for big groups and families, lots of space at the patio with fun trivia/games. It was a little hot in there probably from opening and closing doors. service was good and waiters were nice!! We went around 8pm and had a table of 4- only about a 5-10 min wait!! read more

We had a late lunch here today. My wife and I both had their Fried Shrimp Dinner, my sister had Fried Fish, and my BIL had Shrimp Tacos. He asked if they could trade one of the shrimp tacos for a fish taco, but the server said they would not allow her to do it. We asked if we could get their Rib Eye Special, 15 minutes before it officially started at 4:00 PM. Again she apologized and told us she could not do it. Everything was touted as "Hand Breaded", but it looked a tasted more like a low end pre-packaged offering. The French Fries were very disappointing. I think they are more of a, "come for the view and a cold beverage place", than a destination restaurant. Server was great, food not so much. read more

Conroe Lake House was a whole Vibe! Service was slower than desired but they were apologetic so I don't think that's a natural thing there. It was Bingo & Steak night and they seemed to be having a great time. Food was pretty good! The mozzarella sticks were delish! 9/10! The fried fish and shrimp was great! 8.5/10. Sweet potato fries were better than the regular fries! SP 10/10! Southwest Wrap 9/10! Margherita Pizza 9/10! read more

I had high expectations for this restaurant. The lakefront views and live music are the main attraction but the food and service was poor. I ordered the seafood platter and while the shrimp was fresh, it was 100% unseasoned. It took over 40 minutes to get our food and we all ordered seafood platters. It came with a side of seasoning, but that did not change the very bland taste. The drinks were super watered down and barely tasted any alcohol. A lot of the front house workers appeared to be bored or uninterested in the environment. The hostess wore sunglasses inside the building and bathroom was a mess. There was food and toilet paper on the floor. The trashcan was overflowing, and the paper towels were out. As for the military discount they support the troops but the discount can't be applied to seafood or alcohol. read more

The only great thing was the view. Waitress was a very inexperienced. Food was overpriced and burnt.

Definitely check out the Conroe Lake House when you are in Montgomery! They have indoor and outdoor seating with an enormous patio overlooking the lake. I would 100% come back and order the Seafood Platter. It was sooo much food. I could barely finish half of it. The shrimp are perfectly fried with not too much batter. The fish very tender and flavorful. I wasn't a fan of the pineapple coleslaw, but everything else was delicious. Service was very prompt and professional. read more

We stopped by Conroe Lake House on Wednesday night for their Steak & Bingo event, and once again, it did not disappoint! They were also running an incredible lobster special for just $9.99, which we obviously had to try and it was absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly, the lobster was tender, and we even ended the night with their peanut butter pie. The atmosphere was fun, relaxing, and perfect for mid-week plans. This was actually our second time visiting this month, and we're already talking about coming back again. Great food, great experience, and great value. Conroe Lake House just keeps impressing us! read more

We had an excellent time at Conroe Lake House! It was our first time here and my husband and I were very impressed with the quality of the food, ambiance, and service! It was happy hour so the frozen margaritas were 5$ which was a great plus. There is an area with a playground for kids to run and play and even an enclosed dog park. If you're looking for a place that hits every mark for your family (both human and canine) this is definitely the spot. We can't wait to come back! read more

The only thing this place has going for it is its lakefront view. The drinks are below par, and the food is very overpriced. I definitely wouldn't come back unless it was just for the water views. There is both outdoor and indoor seating, with large fans outdoors during the hot summer days. I got a michelada and a Bloody Mary, and both were subpar and tasted watery. Service was fair, but our server didn't seem particularly friendly. read more

We've visited several times and for some reason the wait time for food is always long. It is overall a good meal, but it always takes a while to get your food, so don't be in any hurry. Drinks are "ok". I do agree with other patrons who have mentioned $$$... Yes, it is overpriced for what you get. The lake view is nice and the live music makes for a fun ambiance. Very family & dog friendly Come here if you want a nice view while enjoying a few cold beers on the patio. read more

Service was good. Ordered shrimp on Barbie and the broccoli was was microwaved from frozen and not fresh. They brought out green beans and they were ok. Mashed potatoes had good flavor but not heated up Husband's chicken sandwich was ok but way overcooked. I ordered the fried shrimp which other than cold mashed potatoes was good. May just come back for drinks and crawfish next time. read more

When we first found this place about 6 months ago we quickly became frequent customers. The beer was cold, view was great..live music on weekends. It was great. Huge selection on the menu. One week I'd have the stuffed baked potato, the next the double cut pork chop. The burger with onion rings and brisket was my fav. Last week i wanted a good burger. The menu no longer has any of my favorites. Stripped down to basics found everywhere. Basic cheeseburger, yea you can get an egg on one but where's the brisket and onion rings? This establishment was always packed on the weekends. With this new stripped down menu it now disappoints! read more

Beautiful spring weather so it was SUPER busy. Parking was a challenge, plus a 45 min wait. The crawfish were good, fish and shrimp tacos were also good. Service was slow, but given how busy it was - totally understandable. The problem?? Not enough bathroom facilities for the size of the place. The line was ridiculous and even the waitress had to wait in the bathroom line!! Nice place, nice view, good food read more

We've always enjoyed dining at Conroe Lakehouse because they have great salads and grilled chicken wraps. During our most recent visit, we were disappointed to learn that the restaurant no longer allows any substitutions for the French fries that come with the wrap--even something as simple as substituting their green beans. We've ordered that healthier substitution in the past, so it was surprising to hear the policy had changed. The manager was very kind and even shared that she disagreed with the new policy, but she wasn't allowed to make the substitution. This is an unfortunate policy because many customers are trying to make healthier choices, and even most fast-food restaurants allow a healthier side substitution. It also makes me wonder how situations involving food allergies or dietary restrictions are handled if no substitutions are permitted. We hope ownership will reconsider this policy. Offering a simple side substitution is a small accommodation that would go a long way toward keeping loyal customers happy. read more

TO THE MANAGEMENT/OWNER: you have a great place here. Well positioned. Haven't tasted the food yet as we are amongst others on a 70 minute wait while we look around at MANY OPEN TABLES INSIDE AND OUT (at least 12 outside & counting). Ridiculousness, much? Even if you are trying to give your kitchen a chance to catch up by slowing down seating, HOW ABOUT GET BUTTS IN SEATS and drinks started? People will be much more understanding seated enjoying your views from their tables vs the crowded wait area where they can get frustrated at the wait and carry their MONEY elsewhere. You start getting money "cha-Ching" STARTED. OR YOU CAN CONTINUE WATCHING PEOPLE WALK OUT THE DOOR as I did in the first 10 minutes, you lost 4 families and it kept happening. CAN YOU SAY "LOST MONEY"??? Or if you already have enough, perhaps it's time to sell so someone else won't take their money elsewhere. Isn't it the point of having a business to make money? I'd rather make it and keep it than to watch it walk through my doors in the opposite direction. You missing an effective process AND staff. I know because this is my specialty. And I'm a rocket scientist as well and this was not rocket science. It was simple logistics & logic IMO. read more

Ambiance is the restaurant's strong suit. Food's "ok" but you can get better elsewhere nearby, and cheaper, too. The service was also just ok ... they were very busy so that's something, but for the most part a pleasant experience. Recommended if you have time to wait, want a primo 'lakeside' dining experience and have the $$$ to drop. Yeah, kinda pricy. read more

Came here in a Thursday night in December to celebrate a birthday! It was quiet that night but I'm sure the weekends, there's always a crowd. Very large portions for such a good price. I couldn't decide on what to eat so I ordered the Lake House Sampler. Loved the fried mozzarella but could've done without the fried pickle spears. Other items tried include the brisket potato, wings, smokehouse burger, and shrimp tacos. No complaints! It was a chilly night but when it gets warmer, I'll be back to sit outside and enjoy the views of the lake ! read more

When this place opened it was great. It had it all--great views and good food. We had family come in to town and wanted to share the experience. It started out great. Seemingly it was not busy and we only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. But thats it. First, the place was dirty. There were fries and crawfish heads covering the ground. It's outside and I don't expect perfection but you all could hit it quickly with a broom. Then we sat down and it took over an hour to get our food out. We were going to get dessert but we did not want to endure another wait. Food, when it was served, was mediocre. Probably won't be back. read more

My family and I went in to try out Conroe Lake House for an early lunch one afternoon. There was very few people in the restaurant when we walked in and were seated. We ordered around of beers and Bloody Mary's as we checked out the menu. We made our selections, Hang Over Burger, Southwest Burger, Fish Tacos and Brisket Grilled Cheese sandwich. What struck us all right off was that the waitress who was very nice had to keep going back to check on the availability of most of the items we ordered, both drinks and food. Now this place just opened and they really should not have been out of much at 11 am but the person in charge didn't seem to think this was abnormal. When we did receive our food, it was all very good in terms of taste and presentation and we really enjoyed our meals although the service was a bit spotty at times. The other thing that we noticed was that our table and several others near by were really dirty. Dirty as if they had not cleaned up properly from the night before. A couple of weeks later, my wife and I returned to have a burger and few beers and give them another try. Again the food was really good, but our waitress and the service as very poor. She spent more time hanging around the bar and did not seem very interested in taking care of her customers even though they were not that busy. We really enjoyed the food and the view of the lake, but being out of so many items and the poor service will probably keep us from coming back in the future. read more

Stopped in for the Fourth of July. Figured it would be busy. Not too long of a wait to get the table. The waitress took our drinks fairly quick with the beers coming out first. The rest of the drinks had about half of them wrong but not worth arguing. The fried mozzarella came out fairly quickly. They were the best part. Each one was a good size. I had ordered the blackened shrimp on the Barbie. My food being "warm" was a stretch. The sweet potato fries had more of a warm to them. Overall I'd stick with apps. Overall the feel is what you'd expect for a restaurant on the water. Watch your step if you use the stairs. read more

The worst old fashioned I've ever had. It was bright red from all the bitters, no cherries, regular ice, no simple syrup and a big fat soda straw. (It's a signature menu item) Eating a stick of deodorant would have been more pleasant. Had to wait for the bartender to finish his snack so we could cash out and leave. . (Most of the staff was either eating or on their phone.) So sad. This place has definitely gone down the tubes. The fact it was less than half full on a Saturday night should have been a dead giveaway. Just don't. read more

It was so loud in the restaurant that it made it hard to relax. We had to wait a long time for our table because they don't do reservations on the weekends. They didn't have enough menus, cups or silverware for everyone in our 9 person group to get one. We had to share menus, only two of us got real cups and two of us had to use plastic forks. One person ordered crayfish and they got their food right away the rest of us waited an hour for our food...including the person who ordered a salad. One of the people we were with found a bug under their fish. They told the waitress and she just kind of said ew and took the plate. No offer to replace the food and no one came over to apologize. It was $50 for me and my husband to eat and the food really wasn't even that good. I was disappointed to say that least. We drove all the way from Huntsville waited an hour, and paid $50 for some unimpressive food and disposable dishes and an extra side serving of fly... I will never go back there ever again. read more

I called and tried to make a reservation and was told reservations had to be made in person at the restaurant. Since I'm coming out of town that isn't an option. Where I did not like this policy, I was not rude about it. Nonetheless, I was hung up on by the rude female the answer the phone. I had additional questions, but it won't matter now. We will be taking our party elsewhere. If this is any indication with a service is like, I would rather not have our evening ruined. Might want to work on those first impressions or not let people with bad attitudes answer your phones. read more

Even though it's a half hour drive, we have been here to eat several times the last couple of years and would rate it a 5+ stars for food & service for thise times, but we wanted to order food to go today (a Saturday). The service was great, we don't really eat here too often we go for drinks and the view. Please bring back the graham cracker crust on the Keylime martinis and cheesecake shots. Not sure why you got rid of the graham cracker crust. Also, it was so nice sitting at the bar with the frozen section for the drinks. We were told they weren't going to fix that. Probably cost a lot of money. Might still go from time to time but not as often as we usually do now because I really look forward to the Keylime martinis with the graham cracker crust they're not the same without it. read more

Started off with mozzarella sticks. The batter was crunchy but the cheese was not good. I ordered the southwest wrap and I've had it before and was always good. This place has the best views money can buy, with excellent staff and waiters but I couldn't find anything on the menu that looked good so I went with the 2lbs of crawfish and added shrimp and snow crabs.
