The food is great. Fresh quality product. Our visit started off very nice with a great greet from the host and quick visit from our server for a drink order. After that service suffered and was too slow for our liking. It seemed there were two managers on duty. One in jeans who seemed to always be working and another in gray slacks trying very hard to make the guest in the establishment invisible. Our server got lost after taking our drink order for about ten minutes. Our food came out quickly but the check back took too long. Then my husband had to get up and physically find out server to cash out. He found her getting hit on by the manager in the gray slacks. Absolutely ridiculous! read more

We sat on the patio around 1:15 pm. We had the Avocado BLTs I choose sweet potato fries my friend opted for asparagus as her side. Our sweet teas never reached empty before being refilled the food was delicious. Service was just kinda ehh.. read more

I love this place! My family and so came here multiple times and the food is always great. I love the outside gazebo options for kids. There is even a place for dogs. The service is so nice and everybody treats you so well, the food also comes at a good time. One time my sister got the wrong meal so the manager came out to personally give her a new one. I always like coming here and always enjoy everything! read more

Lunch specials were large portions and reasonably priced. Wedge salad was excellent, ice cold and very fresh. Our server was Kathi and she was friendly and attentive. We will definitely eat here again. This was our first time at this restaurant. read more

I ate the Shrimp & Grits. My wife ate the Chicken Fried Steak with asparagus & mashed potatoes & traditional gravy. For my part, this was hands down the BEST shrimp & grits that I have ever had. A little spice & a uniquely delicious taste. My mouth will not stop watering until I can come back. Similarly, my wife's meal was wonderful from the steak, gravy, mashed potatoes & asparagus. I sampled it all. The mashed potatoes were great every without gravy! How can that be? And, I couldn't believe that the asparagus had such great flavor. Steak was tender @ the small serving for her was just right. The food was so good, I totally forgot the great service. We sat on the patio & I was afraid we'd be forgotten but the wait staff were phenomenal. I wish I had room for the dessert, but we will have to return just for dessert sometime. read more

The steak was delicious!! Expensive but my daughter and I split it!! Nice atmosphere!! We'll be back!!

We went here for my husbands birthday and were not disappointed! The place is nice and cozy with a few tvs to watch sports, but not too loud at all. Usually when you go to a sports bar, you have to compromise on food. However, not here! The BBQ Jam Sliders that we split were wonderful and the Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. Our waiter was very attentive, small talking with us but also giving us space to enjoy our meal and conversation. We will definitely be back! read more

I cannot stop raving about this place... if you're looking for a great place for dinner + drinks, this is it !

Best burger in Montgomery area (Citizen's Burger w/ jalapeño cream cheese and bacon!) Love the ambience of this place. Has a bar for socializing on one side and another on the dining side. Great selections on tap as well as a great bar selection. Food quality and service are CONSISTENT. I just wish this place were closer by us! read more

I've come here time and time again. Today-- LAUREN took care of the party of 25 very well. Drinks were never empty. I've never felt fully waited on until today. This was a great experience and I cannot wait to be back. Thank you Citizens Grill for another amazing experience. I recommend this place to everyone in the area. The brunch menu is amazing and everyone that ordered off of it was delicious. read more

It may have been an off night for us. Server was forgetting things. Promised a dessert to sample. Came by very little. Food was ok but not great. Just being honest. read more

I had the 12 ounce meatball appetizer with marinara for my meal. The meatball was seasoned well and the marinara was really good. My wife had cod, baked potato and broccoli. She had to ask for another baked potato because the first one came out cold. The second one arrived very quickly and was much better. The cod was very good. Definitely will return to try out other menu items. read more

Sat in the lounge with my wife and had a great time, great food and great service from Kyle. Looking forward to going back again!

I enjoyed citizens grill. We chose to stop in, spur of the moment for a quick lunch. I ordered the Caesar salad with a side of the wings from the appetizer list. The wings were so good. They came with a dry rub of lemon pepper and a side of ranch. They had the perfect amount of seasoning and were piping hot when they arrived at our table. The Caesar comes with their house made gluten free croutons which I was not a fan of. They were reminiscent of cornbread and not croutons. My fiancé ordered the citizens burger which is made with brisket and a few other cuts of meat. It was juicy and tender. I would definitely order this for myself next time. Our waiter was fast and accommodating and the overall service was impeccable. read more

Food is always good. I really like the menu choices, however, the ambiance is a little dark and depressing.

Great local restaurant!!! Great food & service! Satisfy all taste buds. They have a variety of dishes. Steaks, chicken tenders, coconut shrimp, calamari, salad meals, so many options. Everything we have tried has been delicious. We enjoy drinks in the cozy bar side of the restaurant. We've celebrated several events at this restaurant & had wonderful servers, food, & experience. Working with event staff has been enjoyable. read more

Great vibes here! The bartender Kyle G. made our experience great. We came in around 4 and he told us about the bar deals going on. He got the beef tacos and chicken quesadilla on the bar menu and Omg it was GREAT! This was a great spir of the moment date idea!! read more

Citizens Grill - Came in for a happy hour and the lemon drop is $3 off! - American Near Me - Conroe, Texas

Went for lunch with a group of friends. They have an early happy hour with $3 off martinis, so several of us ordered our go to dirty Hendricks martinis. We decided the drinks were filthy martinis since they seems to be mostly brine and little gin. Service was ok as was the food. The surprise was on the bill when there was a $20 liquor up charge for two drinks and the notation "2 oz" next to each. I'm sure if I'd had 4 ounces of liquor I'd have noticed, but no. One friend pointed out that the $52 for the four drinks she & I had would buy an entire bottle of Hendricks. read more

Our first time here, won't be the last! Steak in the steak salad was tasty and so tender it fell apart hardly had to use a knife. Cobb salad with chicken was great as well. Fried calamari was good also and great service! read more

A damned good place to enjoy a drink and eat a steak. Tyler worked hard to make sure our experience was awesome. Steak cooked too perfection and wine was spot on. Dropped them one star because they were rushing our entree before we received our bottle of wine and finished the salad. Not a big deal because Tyler understood and brought everything back into sync... Thank you, you made the dinner experience what we expected from the Citizens Grill... keep up the good work and we'll be back many times!! read more

Citizens Grill on 1488. 11.12.2020 - my wife and her best friend waited an hour for their lunch only to be told that their order had been lost. During that time that had a bottle of wine while waiting and her friend was stung by a bee. Manager never came around and apparently the waiter fell asleep after taking their order to not realize they'de not received their food. They complained and after a two hour wait / lunch, they only took off $10 a $100 tab. Worst service EVER. We've enjoyed service and food in the past, but they don't apparently appreciate the little bit of revenue from their lunch patrons. Guess they must not need our future business! read more

We went on a Saturday night with a party of 5 and were seated in the bar area. Delicious food the wings as an appetizer were crispy the Filet Mignon was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Service very good managers are walking the dining room checking up on the service. Perfect meal. Far off I 45 but worth the drive we will return for sure. read more

Citizens Grill - Farmers Garden Salad w/ Chicken - American Near Me - Conroe, Texas

I'll call this one of our local go toos as it's near the house. And. I'm thankful it is. It is nice having good food so close to home. The restaurant itself has nice decor inside and in the patio. Both areas are made to be comfortable regardless of temperature. So. You're already comfortable coming in between the setup and friendly staff. Then. You get to the food. I have either ordered or tasted a large chunk of menu items. From burgers to the bacon jalapeño Mac n cheese, to chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy (an absolute must have). I have NEVER had a bad experience here on any front. Really only two suggestions. Last time I went I requested a Veteran discount and was told it is only given during certain hours. I thought that was odd. The discount is chump change compared to our sacrifices for this great country. Two. The wings are one of the best if not the best I've had in TX. I'm from Buffalo NY and fancy myself a wing connoisseur. I think the restaurant should consider making this a menu item with options to order more wings, like 8 for this, 12 for that, etc. They are that good!!!! Either way. Your stomach and taste buds will thank you for eating here. It's on my families regular rotation. read more

The food is amazing. One bartender is lacking (Tyler) rude and doesn't like sharing information about signature drinks. They look amazing but don't ask what's in it he will not share with you or offer to make you one.. They just lost a customer read more

I don't think you can go wrong with this place. Everything here is delicious! I've been here several times and my favorite thing so far is the Big American Meatball. This giant meatball is AMAZING! The sauce is DELICIOUS and I looove the Garlic Toast that's served with it. It's listed under the appetizers but it can definitely be a meal. The Spinach & Artichoke Dip was also delicious. It was topped with tons of Smoked Gouda and the crostinis that come with it are yummy. The Chicken Fried Steak was good, the burgers, sweet potato fries, mac n' cheese and salads were all delicious. As far as desserts go, the New Orleans Bread Pudding, the Peach Cobbler and the Classic Apple Pie were my favorites. (All of them w/a scoop of Vanilla Blue Bell ice cream & in that order.) According to my sister, the Six Layer Chocolate Chocolate Cake is REALLY good too. The manager is super nice and always walks up and asks us if we need anything and makes sure that everything is ok. Like I said, you can't go wrong with this place. read more

The food is great, the service was perfect and this place is really cool! The Manager gave us a tour. They have something for everyone! The main dining room is family friendly but big enough and open for anyone. My friend and I ate here not knowing about the other dining areas and we're not bothered by crying, climbing/misbehaved children. There is a full bar that has drink specials and special drinks. Then there is an adults only Lounge. This place is so cool! It's a little darker, and completely separate from the main dining room. There is a dark wood, full bar and the Lounge has a lounge-y ambiance. Serves all the same food and is full service, just no one under 21 allowed. Love it! They have a private room you can reserve for parties, showers, etc... There is a lot of natural light or if it's dark outside, plenty of lighting and room. Then there is a patio!! They have live music out there on weekends and it's pet friendly!! This place is HUGE and holds 150 people!! You can also rent this space for a party. Go to Citizens Grill! It's fantastic! read more

I have now been here 4 times in the short time it has been open and have to say two things. ..... consistency of service and quality of food. They have still been under a soft open and taking their time for a grand opening which has really made sure that the menu and food delivered is top notch. At this point, I have had 3 different meals and dessert 3 times as well (have been for dessert without meal a once). Hamburger is perfect...enough said, even for my fiancee who eats them well (I had some of hers and somehow they pulled off a well done burger). The club sandwich has been my favorite as someone went off menu and added onion and it was the best I have ever had..... which I've had a bunch of these in my years. I ate the Citizens Chicken tonight and was blown away with the this dish. Chicken is easy for me, as I cook it alot. This also means I am picky about this dish and they delivered. They cook it well, but have a nice glaze over the top that with sundried tomatoes and some goat cheese. Had the asparagus as a side and it was cooked perfectly. The best thing on this menu is the dessert, the chocolate cake now tops my list of best ever. I can't describe the feeling of pain you will endure from the locking of the jaw from just how sweet this piece of cake... word of caution, it takes at least two to tackle this dessert and will still need a to-go box. This has quickly become my favorite restaurant. I am hoping as they grow the menu, the consistency of service and quality of food still remain the same. read more

Wow, what a pleasant surprise. My wife and I have been driving by their location as it is difficult to see from 1488 but once we walked in the door we were glad to have taken the time to find it. We were greeted by a very staff who were proud to show us around and explain the venue. It was lunch so there was not a giant crowd but the place consumes an extremely large footprint on the shopping center. It features a well appointed bar with several dining areas, a separate ADULT Lounge where ankle-biters are not allowed complete with booths for dining and a huge outside patio with a special section for people who want to dine with their canine companions, now how cool is that? The craft beer selection was outstanding and the food superb. Just writing about this place has convinced me that I am going back, today, for another great meal with some super special brews. read more

Went for a ladies luncheon today and was so disappointed in my order- Seafood Salad. It looked good upon presentation. Then I started to look for the seafood: 6 small shrimp and a small scattering of crab pieces, I think. There were about 8 sliced grapes and 8 sliced grape tomatoes. This was mixed with very limp, tasteless lettuce. The only flavor came from the over abundant salad dressing ( should of ordered on the side ) and crunchy crouton strips. I didn't complain because I was with 10 other ladies and didn't want create a scene. 5 ladies ordered chicken fried chicken and said it was really good. Our server, Martin, was excellent- he was attentive, smiling and kind to each and every one of us. He deserves 5* read more

This place came highly recommend since we are not familiar with Conroe. We couldn't have made a better choice. Tracy, our waitress was so helpful and friendly. She recommended the Citizen Chicken. Both of us ordered that along with the Black Pepper Green Beans and the Jalapeño Cream Corn. It was all outstanding. The chicken was fork tender, the sauce was extremely flavorful and just the right amount of goat cheese. The green beans were spot on and the corn had just the right amount of spice and creamyness. Had a nice chat with one of the managers, Pablo. Will definitely be back. read more

I was in citizens grill yesterday and had an odd experience. The bartender on shift started to talk bad about the bartender coming on to the next shift. Come to find out in her talking his name was Joe. She stated he doesn't work, he comes in late, he doesn't come in a hour early anymore, etc.... She was talking so loud that the whole bar could hear but mainly talking to guests and with the other bartender. I was so put off, her demeanor was horrible and I was in shock. Then the bartender Joe comes in and she acts like nothing is wrong instead of having a discussion with him. I only know because she ended her shift and left. But she kept rolling her eyes at him and whispering g about him. Joe was a great bartender while I was there. He seemed to work hard, clean, and was friendly to guests. Citizen Grill has a great atmosphere, customers seem to be regulars which I liked. But the bartender should never be airing problems of the restaurant and especially to customers! read more
