Again, the chimichurri is the star and makes the meats much better. It came with 2 sides so we chose asparagus and fries tossed in garlic+parsley. For dessert, we had an apple maple empanada and a banana dulce de leche empanada with ice cream. Both are delicious but that banana one is a must-try. Fabulous.

While the portions were enormous, the service was excellent, and the prices were more than fair, the seasoning seemed a little timid. Across the board, the food could have used a bit more punch and personality. Nothing was bad--it just never quite crossed into memorable territory. That said, I would absolutely recommend Goodson's, especially if you have family or friends visiting from out of state. It showcases two classic Texas traits: HUGE portions and good value. As for the mild seasoning? If your guests are from up North, they'll probably feel right at home.

A quick check shortly after delivery of our meal was warranted, obviously, but not provided. Steakhouse atmosphere, and very family friendly. We came for lunch recently, and although crowded, we were able to be seated relatively quickly, and we were a party of 7. Lots of parking, easy access off of 249/Tomball Tollway. That is precisely why I feel it is important to share today's experience. My steak today was very dry and lacked the juiciness I normally expect. I ordered it medium-well and without salt. I understand that requesting no salt might possibly affect the preparation, but I have ordered my steak without salt on many previous occasions at this same restaurant and it has been cooked perfectly and remained juicy, so today's steak was definitely different from what I normally receive here. I also had an uncomfortable experience at the front with Ava. I spoke to her in English and asked a very simple question: "Did somebody else ask about my table or waitlist reservation previously?" I had to repeat the question four times before she understood what I was asking. Whether someone is bilingual or not is not really the issue. However, when working at the front desk of a restaurant, being able to understand a basic question in English--or at least making a genuine effort to understand what a customer is trying to communicate--is very important. An experience like this at the entrance can unfortunately make a customer feel reluctant to return. I also want to mention the manager because, during his regular rounds through the dining room, he stopped by our table and was very kind, attentive, and professional. I never complained to him about either the steak or what had happened at the front desk, so he was not asked to handle or resolve the situation. I simply decided not to bring it up while I was there. However, after thinking about it, I believe the restaurant should know about experiences like this. After being a customer for approximately 15 years, I care about this location and want it to continue providing the quality of food and service that has kept me coming back for so long. Not saying anything would actually be doing a disservice to a restaurant that I genuinely enjoy and appreciate. Hopefully, today was simply an exception.

I called the following day when I noticed that my left overs didn't quite look familiar to me from what I had left on my plate the evening before. I called Perry's Steakhouse and spoke with Naomi who had my name & number and said that Ashley B. would call me back the following day. I waited for over two weeks and no one has returned my phone call yet! I will leave my complaint here in my review and let everyone know that it's not a wise thing to have someone else box your left over food away from you and out of your sight because you'll never know whose left overs you may get. I am in no way implying anything negative in the quality of the food that served at Perry's because they are "the Best" in my opinion; however, they should respect the customers request if they ask for them to give them a to-go box so they can box their food up on their own. I wouldn't hesitate to eat there again but I will always ask for a to-go box so I can put my own food away in the future.

Margarita - a very smooth drink made with triple sec. I liked it, but it was a little pricy for happy hour considering I had just had a great $7 margarita down the road just yesterday.
