This is a cute family-run restaurant full of customers on a Saturday night. There was only 1 waiter servicing the whole place so be patient. We didn't get to try a lot of items on their menu so my impression is limited to what we ordered. For appetizers, we had a variety of empanadas (spicy ground beef, chicken chipotle, italian, fugazetta). All are very tasty and probably one of the best items they have. The chimichurri that comes with them is a stand-out. We had the platter of mixed meats (parrillada che gaucho) that included 3 kinds of sausages, chicken breast, sweetbread, short rib, flank and skirt steaks. The sausages were good, the chicken was standard grilled chicken breast and the beef cuts were pretty tough (our knives had a really hard time cutting through them). Again, the chimichurri is the star and makes the meats much better. It came with 2 sides so we chose asparagus and fries tossed in garlic+parsley. For dessert, we had an apple maple empanada and a banana dulce de leche empanada with ice cream. Both are delicious but that banana one is a must-try. Fabulous. read more

I am not sure if this was just their bad day, I am surprised to see these many good reviews for this place. Unfortunately we did not find this place good enough to recommend or even to come back. We ordered a dozen empanadas, we found the salteña ones full of flavor but we did not like the flavor. We also disliked that the grease was dripping. The salteña a cuchillo had the same flavor as the salteña to my palate, but the salteña a cuchillo has pieces of potato which in my opinion doesn't go great in such a small empanada. I ordered the mushroom with cheese and it was freezing cold inside. It was so small there was no point in saying anything. The spinach and cheese was flavorless. We tried ordering the salad with skirt but it turns out their meat for the salad is premade and it had to be well done, same for a sandwich. My husband does not like well done steak. I never once saw any raw meat on their grill or smelled meat being cooked. Maybe all their meats are precooked. I did not like the flavor of their chimichurri either, that's what I was mostly excited about because I love chimichurri, but no. We were disappointed and sadly will not come back. Given so many great reviews, I'm reluctant to post my negative review, but food truly was inedible. The good: Place has its special charm with very home-y feel and some air of authenticity. Wine selection is not bad, service was semi attentive and thats where positives end. I'd consider their food overpriced even if they were located in more "affluent" area, and its definitely, grossly overpriced given the setting. $26 for a milanesa that was a size of my palm. Charging 3% for credit card payment- now you nickel-and-diming your customers, shameful. But not as shameful as the quality of your food. It was truly inedible. Milanessa was thin and dry, definitely re-heated. Skirt steak ( Argentinian staple) was so chewy that my jaw muscles were sore after eating 1/3 of it. before i called it quits. I ve never ever given any reputable respectable restaurant 1 star. My wife and I went for the first time to celebrate my birthday last night high expectations from her since she planned our night. Saturday night one waiter serving every single table in the whole establishment is beyond employee abuse to say the least! We ordered the 105 dollar plate that had, a couple of beefs, two sausages and chicken. The beef was literally so tough I could hardly swallow it and I was embarrassed I had to place little pieces of un-chewed meat that was inedible by my plate. I didn't want to gross anyone out because I had to constantly make spit balls out of my meat! This is the worse part I complained they tried to bring back the same type of meat and I had literally hurt my throat from trying to swallow the tough and chewy meat. THEY @ WERE FIRST NOT GOING TO OFFER ANY REFUND I WAS UPHALLED! So I asked the waiter do you think that is just? You are charging me the whole plate and I didn't eat even half! Long story short they only RELUCTANTLY REIMBURSED 40 dollars to my 125.00$ bill! I PRAY THAT THE WAITER IS COMPENSATED OR FINDS A BUSINESS TO WORK FOR THAT ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT PEOPLE MORE THAN MAKING A PROFIT! The house salad and the French fries were good. The chicken empanada had a filling ratio of 98% potato and 2% shredded chicken, it was terrible. My husband didn't mind the beef empanada. I ordered the chicken Milanese, which was decent with sweet potato fries. husband had skirt steak, which was decent. Overall both meals were salty to taste. The biggest negative is that there is only one waiter and because the place was so crowded on a Saturday evening, the service was lacking. For example, we-were waiting to get a glass of water for quite some time. We even had the Tiramisu , which was more like cheesecake ( not bad tho) . Sangria was awful --Tasted more like fruit punch. Came here for a quick work lunch. Most of us had not been here before and were intrigued. I noticed the lunch menu had Argentinian Pizza, and I had never heard of that! I had to try it, so I ordered that with a size salad. The pizza was actually pretty large for an individual serving, and it could even be split. Food was trash. I'm confused by the reviews. Empanadas were empty and crusty. Ordered the "completo" sandwich by recommendation and it had three times the fillings you could eat with the bread and sandwich method. Leaving me confused to begin with on how to eat it. The steak portion of the sandwich was inedible by mouth or knife due to gristle and fat. I asked for a removal of the sandwich and wanted to be on my way. The server had to text the owner and he responded with only 25% off of my sandwich. It was our first time having Argentinian food and certainly our last. Awful experience overall and the owner has lots to learn in hospitality. It is your next empty restaurant retail location. Save your time and money. Look elsewhere. I'm not one to leave a review even after a marginal experience but this place left such a bad taste in my mouth (no pun) that I decided to warn others. Cozy warm and inviting This was my first visit; I have to say phenomenal is an understatement! Harrison is over attentive like that's possible in the service industry! Lol. The empanada sampler that I had was amazing I had Italian, mushroom, spinach and spicy chopped beef; they were each beautiful in their own right. The chimichurri is authentic perfection. I took my son - we ordered an empanada, a cheese pizza, and the beef milanesa with 5 cheeses. Everything was fresh and impressive. And the flavor? OMG. After we received our food I became momentarily stressed because the menu is quite extensive. I tried to do the math in my head to figure out how many visits it would take me to work my way through the menu - it made me realize that I'm impatient. So, I texted a few food pics to friends and volun-told to prepare to come eat here. I figure we can all order different stuff and sample everything on the table. Modern problems require modern solutions! As for the service - they aren't fast, but that's okay. This is one of this places where the wait is worth it. The place is quiet - so you can have conversations without screaming. My only gripe is the air conditioner doesn't blow very cold so it's a little warm - but I will overlook that as well in order to put that food in my tummy. Would I go back? Went to Che Gaucho and ordered empanadas for "takeout". They are overpriced for the size, fillings are not so great. What mostly bothered me about this place is that they just automatically add the "tips" in your bill. Been to several eateries in Tomball and never have been charged a tip. Why 5 stars? Because the empanadas changed me. --- --- --- I've never considered myself to be an empanada person, but after trying the empanadas at Che Gaucho, I think I have to amend that position. I am now a fan of empanadas when they are done by Che Gaucho. I started off with the italian empanada, which was like the highest-grade Hot Pocket that's ever been made. And I finished with the banana dulce de leche empanada, which was the perfect way to end this meal. In between the appetizer and dessert, I ordered a churrasco, which was solid, but I will admit I've had better. The salad that accompanied it was probably the biggest disappointment of the entire experience, but I suppose if one thing is going to be subpar, you'd pick that to be the side salad. So while this was probably somewhere between a 4 and 5 star experience, I'm rounding up because the empanadas were THAT good. Next time, my entire meal will be empanada-based. read more

Today, my friends and I decided to try out a new eatery in the local area. The restaurant is extremely small and quaint. I was greeted by a nice Colombian waiter that knew the menu pretty decently and could make his recommendations when asked. We ordered the steak, a steak sandwich, a cheese pizza, and half of dozen of Empanadas and a side salad. I feel the waitress became flustered serving our party which consisted of three small children (which ate off our plate) and four adults. Sides were being missed. The wrong pizza was placed and the waitress was not able to make the correction to the bill as the system was limited. My favorite part of the dinner experience was the appetizer which was a bread served at room temperature along with a chimichanga sauce. The empanadas had the perfect amount of cheese. I love white, stringy cheese when you pulled apart the empanadas. Man, was it delish and delightful. Steak was overcooked and too hard to eat. I probably won't recommend any dishes with steak. We paid - we left - we will not be back. The food was good. But listening to customers is what it is all about. The owner makes lots of statements in response to these comments online - but obviously does not make any changes to the operations in the restaurant. We brought a huge amount of meat home. Breakfast, lunch and maybe dinner tomorrow. The location was busy. Only one wait person who was attentive - for a Saturday night. They obviously need more help. I read these sort of comments in the reviews before we went there - it is true. A shame - with a little more TLC this place could be excellent. I've been here before but it was a few years ago when they first opened. It hasn't changed and if anything it's gotten better. The service was great but it's the food that will make me come back again and hopefully sooner. As I sat down the lady who was serving me placed a small paper tray with sliced bread that had cheese on the bottom as well as a small thing of chimichurri sauce in front of me. The bread reminded me of focaccia and the cheese was very mild. The Chimichurri sauce was amazing though. I could eat that with anything. I decided to order the Empanada Combo 1 which came with 4 empanadas of choice, a side of choice, and a drink. While the sweet potato fries were good, the empanadas were the star of the show. (Of course they were ) I preferred the spicy empanada to the other three but they were all good and they are perfect with the chimichurri sauce. I had also decided to order the mollejas as I've had sweetbreads in the past and enjoyed them. These had just a bit of gaminess that was completed negated when I added more chimichurri.
