Being Argentine I really wanted to love this place. I am only reviewing what I got because I only ordered 3 things. I don't eat much. I got it on Uber Eats delivered. I got the mollejas, morcilla, and ensalada rusa. The salad was ok. It's a simple salad can't really mess it up. The morcilla was good but it's bought made also kind of hard to mess up. The mollejas were so disappointing. I figured it would grilled like we Argentines make it, but it seems to fried. Not good at all. I also got a bunch of little pieces. Also not how mollejas are served. The Chimichurri was spicy which is not my liking at all. I really wanted to like this place because I am Argentine but not a win. What's a hidden gem. We found this place on our gosh map and thank goodness we did. We originally went thinking it was a Mexican restaurant that served steaks, but we were in a for a surprise. It was an Argentine restaurant. It was our first time ever to try Argentinian food. And it definitely did NOT disappoint. An older husband and his wife cook the food themselves. Which we found out were the owners parents. Every single thing we ordered came straight out hot and fresh and packed with flavor. We definitely definitely definitely recommend. This place is below average in almost every way. Air conditioning didn't work. They had 2 mobile AC units and they were blowing humid warm air as well. The service was slow. We sat at our table for 10 mins before anyone came up to us and offered to take our drink orders. The food was just sad. After ten minutes no one came to check on us so we decided to move inside. There we finally got to order but were never served the customary bread and oil to start. Our order also came in two batches and I think if we hadn't reminded one of the servers the second part might not have arrived at all. We understand this is a family business and times are challenging for restaurants. But they were clearly not set up to handle a busy night that night. Whenever I want to impress a guest with a local restaurant, we order from Che Gaucho! Their empanadas are great. My favorite are the spicy beef and maple apple empanadas. Their takeout meals for 2 kept my husband and I happy during the Covid lockdown. We used to dine in before Covid and they keep the restaurant and bathrooms very clean, which is always a sign the owners truly care. My usual order is the skirt steak with their provenzal fries. So good! I have learned they lean on the very rare side of cooking the steaks. I normally order medium rare everywhere else but here I order medium and it comes out how I like it. Looked up places to eat in Tomball, came across this. Walked in and kinds regretted it as it was pretty warm. Super glad we stayed. Food was delicious and the customer service was outstanding! It's family owned and operated and they're super personable. Their bread and Chimichurri was so spot on it's insane. We've been anticipating our trip to this restaurant ever since we moved into the area 10 months ago but every time we tried to eat here it always happened to be on a day they were closed. Being that my husband is Argentinian, he was looking to some good authentic cuisine. Well today for my husband's birthday we finally got the chance to try them! Being Latino, 7 o'clock to us seems a normal time to walk into a restaurant to eat. If we want to be exact we walked in at 7:11... they close at 8 today. Being someone who worked in the industry, I don't like 30mins or less before closing as a consideration to the staff. But I figured 50mins was fine. I was wrong. Service - Both servers were kind and sweet from the beginning so the issue with service was NOT attitude or lack of service.... But rather the overwhelming service to speed up or dinning experience. I worked at a steakhouse and even if someone walked in 10 mins before close we tried not to rush them. But at 7:30 we were advised that they were about to turn off the grill and the we needed to put in our order, mind you we had just put in our empanada appetizer order so we were still browsing entrees. We begged for just another minute to decide and we rushed to pick the Bone in Ribeye and Vacío. The food- I am 7 1/2 months pregnant, and while I like a medium cooked steak, I have to eat it medium well/well done as a safety precaution. My husband always eats his steak well done. This is how we ordered our steaks and I Also have them a heads up that we would be ordering a tiramisu for dessert since I knew they were gonna ask soon anyway. Both of our steaks came out medium rare. I'm assuming That's was because the cook was rushing to turn off the grill to clean it. I ate the thinner ends and saved the medium rare part (80% of the steak) so I could cook it when I got home because I was hungry and didn't want to send it back my husband asked if they could throw his BONELESS "Bone - in" Ribeye back on the grill. Super disappointed that there was none because that is his favorite part. The steak came back and it was still medium in the middle and there's no excuse for that because again, there was no bone to cause to be bloodily still. But my husband ate it anyway but I could see the look of disgust in his face and I got so emotional because I really wanted him to have a great dinner . Between the uncooked steak and rushed service I knew he was not enjoying himself. After a little over 5 mins of him getting his steak returned to him, we were asked if we wanted a box for my food or my daughters food. At this point it was around 7:50pm . We got a box and our tiramisu came out..... it was rock solid frozen. I can't even make this up. I notify the server and she apologized and said that the have to keep it frozen because of the ice cream....(??? There is no ice cream in tiramisu... it's mascarpone cheese and it does not have to be frozen) it should have been thawed 30 mins before when I had notified them for THEIR convenience that I would be ordering it when we placed the order for our entrees. She offered to "warm it up for us". That was out option, microwaved tiramisu... so we asked for a Togo box. We were charged for a frozen tiramisu. All in all I will say the FLAVOR of the steak I thought was very good , even though I had to go home and cook the rest of it. The empanadas were baked to perfection. Very good . And the tiramisu , once it thawed out at home, was also very tasty. Our bill 3 waters 1 Topo Chico 2 empanadas 1 kid pizza "bone in " ribeye steak Vacío Steak Tiramisu After my husbands generous (in my opinion) $20 tip on a $75 (Yelp offered a 10% off so original bill was $83 ) check we walked out nearly $100 down and unsatisfied :/ unfortunately this is why we can only eat out like this once in a long while and it almost never feels worth it because everywhere seems service and quality are lacking post pandemic. We were out the door by 8:08 , so I guess mission complete for the staff. I hope I can convince my self to try this place again someday but i don't like the idea of a gamble at this price. Which isn't terribly expensive , but pricy enough to not make it worth the gamble. If I do I will definitely love to update the review with hopefully more positivity! Ok. We went to Che Gaucho for lunch this week and had a really pleasurable time. While the portions were good-sized, my wife and I both decided to have the Entrana. Each came with two side orders. We both had a salad. I also had the grilled spinach, and my wife had sweet potato fries. The Entranas were cooked perfectly - mine medium-rare, my wife's medium. For dessert, we split a Tiramisu; it also was very tasty. Our server was Aaron. He was very helpful in giving us suggestions about what to order and provided really good service. We also sat outside because of Covie, and Aaron checked on us pretty frequently. The inside was nothing fancy, but looked nice. It was a little difficult to find Che Gaucho since it was in the corner of a small strip center, but we're glad we did. Wasn't impressed by the food or service. Right away we were told that they did not have Asado. It was fine with us we were not going to eat asado. We just went there to try it out and try their Empanadas and pizza. Both were good but not what y was expecting. We had a very lovely Valentine's dinner at Che Gaucho. Because we'd made a reservation quite a bit in advance, they had a nice gift on the table for us with candies and chocolates. Our meal was amazing! We tried 6 different empanadas, all of which were wonderful. My husband had the ribeye and I had a NY strip, both of which were perfectly cooked and topped with a very nice chimichurri sauce. For sides, I had a salad with the house vinaigrette (very good) and the grilled asparagus. My husband also had the house salad and the french fries. My husband is a french fry snob and he loved the fries! Unfortunately we were too full to try dessert. This is a small restaurant (maybe 12 tables) and there was one server for the room. He did an awesome job of keeping up with everyone's needs, but this would not be the place for a hurried meal - and I liked that. We will definitely be back! read more

Ten years ago, we enjoyed a wonderful vacation in Argentina where we enjoyed the best empanadas. Since then, we haven't had empanadas anywhere close to this, until our visit to Che Gaucho. Had been wanting to try this Argentinian restaurant out for a while. Heard that their food was really good. My parents are argentinian and both amazing cooks in their own right. I had a light meal but found everything I had to be authentic tasting and plentiful. No disappointment at all. It was a slow night but our server was really on top of things and even my mother, who worked in fine dining for over 30 years was impressed with her service. I felt the prices were very reasonable.
