Hidden restaurant at the back of the Vintage. I've been a few times and each time it really is not that busy but this time we decided to have a girl's night there with a large party and they were able to get us in right away on a Saturday evening and I love that because it's not busy we can actually hear each other. That's a big plus. Plus there are plenty of seats inside and out. Sat down and right away the servers were on top of getting our orders in and pretty patient. I should have asked for prices of the ritas because to my surprise once we were ready to pay I found out their jalapeño total was considered a "special" and that thing was $18!!!! There were no prices marked on the drink menu which should have been my red flag. The strawberry rita was $15 which consisted of practically a salad on top so that was worth it but almost $20... well, after tax I'm sure it was but that's wild. Vintage plate was up my alley and $19 but although it looked like a giant plate, it was skimpy. Chicken was super thin and the rice ratio was lacking. Flavors were decent for everything but for the pricing since this place isn't out of my way I'd stick to my closer Mexican restaurants. My wife and I came here for dinner one night, it was our first time here, and sadly our last time. The restaurant was decorated nicely and very clean. The booths in the dining room had wooden benches that were intricately carved and painted with Mexican themed displays. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Our waitress was fantastic! We ordered the table-side guacamole, which our waitress made in front of us. It was the best guacamole we've had in Texas. Our waitress, Lagolasina, took great care in seasoning it perfectly. My wife ordered the Cheese Enchiladas with Spanish rice, and I ordered what they called the "Shrek Burrito" with shredded chicken. My wife also ordered a Cadillac Margarita- I had to order an extra shot of tequila as the Margarita tasted like it didn't have any in it. My wife's Cheese Enchiladas were very mediocre, and the cheese that was melted on top of it and inside the tortillas looked and tasted like Kraft individually wrapped sliced cheese. The Spanish rice tasted like it came out of a box.. The Shrek Burrito, which I assume they call it that because it comes in a green tortilla, was very bland and the chicken inside had a grayish tinge to it. I have a hard time going to a restaurant and paying hard earned money for food that we could make better at home. I'm not sure if the bland, mediocre food is to cater to the pallets of their patrons. I noticed there weren't any Latino patrons dining there. My wife made the suggestion to our waitress that she should be the Chef based on how excellent her table side guacamole was. Thank you for your excellent service and guacamole, Lagolasina. Our bill was $60 for bland entrées, and a very weak Cadillac Margarita. This place is tucked away in the corner of the Vintage shopping courts. My mom really loved the booths that looked like carved pieces of art. It wasn't really busy and this was during lunch time, but I think that's because it was cold and rainy that day. We first ordered the chips and queso and it was pretty standard. You get the option of yellow or white. Server was pretty friendly. The second server, lol I think judged my mom when she wanted a round of drinks so early in they day. We ordered sharable fajitas, the one that comes with seafood. The lobsters were really small and tough. The shrimp came out to be the best tasting protein, while the chicken and beef were just ok. Overall nothing really stood out to me. The menu is pretty extensive and I kinda wished I stuck to the lunch items. The whole place has a friendly and local atmosphere. I don't know if I'm the best person to judge latin food as it's my least favorite cuisine, but everything was pretty on par with what you would expect it to taste. In my quest to patronize every business in the Vintage, I ended up at La Corona, and no...I wasn't deterred by the name...this spot precedes the events of 2020! Although this little gem is relatively hidden from exterior view, once you step in, although casual, and modest, it certainly had a whole lot of character! Lotteria themed tables and chairs fill the space. Wall art and art work paint the walls in every color of the rainbow, and the menu is just as colorful boasting, giant, indulgent drink creations, a tradition Mexican food menu section and much more! With a love of all things Chamoy and tajin, I immediately gravitated to the Chamoy margarita, and it didn't disappoint! It's HUGE! Decorated with all sorts of fruits, veggies, a tajin rim, and a spoon of chamoy candy I was in heaven. Nothing like a dessert drink to start your meal, right?! The queso blanco was the perfect consistency and the chips were perfectly crisp and flavorful without being oily! The chicken and beef fajitas were a bit lacking in presentation but the flavor was ay ok after adding a bit of salt. It may sound odd, but I wished the meet was sliced in thinner strips for serving and bump up the seasoning a little bit. To make it plain, I've had better and I've had worst fajitas, I'd be inclined to try these a second time. This is one place I don't mind trying different things bc it's always great. Today I went back to my first meal here for chicken fajitas. So many places don't give many vegetables with the meat, but without the veggies you've got tacos al carbon basically. Here, you get onions, red and green peppers, and tomatoes. The service is amazing - if they feel you are in need they come over quickly without hovering. The guac is good but I prefer the chunky avocado salad with the veggies. The restaurant is nice and even when full it's relatively quiet. I highly recommend La Corona. read more

This place ... HOLY COW!!!! We stopped in for a drink and wound up staying a while! We were there at lunch and when we walked in it smelled so clean. Staff went above and beyond. We were able to catch up and have a conversation without the staff always stopping by. However, they were attentive enough to notice our drinks were running low which is always important. We started out with chips and warm salsa. It isn't like the traditional cold salsa. Then we had the white queso. It was sooo good. Could have made a meal out of just those. Two female friends of mine and I ate at La Corona in The Vintage (Spring, TX) on 10/22/2025. First of all, the chips were thick and highly corn textured; not light tasting or great. The red salsa was warm and not good at all. (I am not a fan of warm salsa to begin with and then to have no flavor or texture was a double no bueno.) Definitely the worst salsa I have ever had anywhere. We ordered regular house margaritas and a prickly pear margarita. The house margaritas had a funky taste according to my two friends - they are not sure what it was - and the prickly pear margarita was too sweet; much sweeter than others I have had elsewhere. I ordered the California Burrito which was very mediocre; I have definitely had better elsewhere - for example at Taqueria Arandas where they have been very tasty. One of my friends ordered the Chicken with Poblano Peppers and Cream and she said that was good. My other friend ordered the Chicken Empanadas and those were amazing! The best dish of all three. Service was very good and the servers were very attentive. Flavor-wise, I wasn't really blown away by this place and neither were my friends. I don't think we will be back, however, I might have to get the Chicken Empanadas to go sometime because those were really delicious. With the cost to eat out these days, everything has to be really good to justify the expense and La Corona doesn't have it. read more

I wasn't wowed this time around. My chicken tortilla soup was outrageously expensive for the quality and quantity of actual meat/quality ingredients. I had maybe 1/2 cup of incredibly finely shredded chicken (think human hair width) and big chunks of veggies thrown in (I had to use a knife to cut up 90% of the veggies). The broth was thin and underwhelming rather than some sort of complicated soup worth $14 for a bowl. Water refills stopped after our plates hit the table instead of after we paid the bill (which I feel like is more customary). The chips tasted store bought instead of made in-house but I didn't not bother asking. I do totally approve of the decor - the carved benches and murals are 10/10. Our meal for two people came out to $30, which is still a fair price overall. The overall restaurant is pretty quiet and not distracting like some restaurants are. The booths are kind of sound resistant so it would be a decent location to have a private conversation. However, there is an El Tiempo right next door with prices that are about the same so I can't recommend La Corona like I used to. read more

We went to La Corona for lunch today, having wanted to try this place out for a while. They opened just shortly before the height of covid, which is a testament to the business, especially considering their name, at that time when businesses were already struggling without having any likeness to CoronaVirus. The interior of the restaurant is fairly small with a mixture of tables and booths. It's clean and colorful. They have really neat, colorful, hand made chairs and booths which add to the flair. Chips and salsa came out right after our drink orders were taken; their tortilla chips are a festive regular corn color with some blue and red chips sprinkled in. The single type of salsa brought to us was obviously house made, a deep red color with a smoky flavor and just a little burn at the end. I had the stuffed avocado which was pretty good. The breading was fairly light and crisp, the avocado was perfectly ripe and it was loaded with a decent amount of beef and cheese, it also came with a beef fajita taco, rice and beans. The beef in the taco was diced into fairly small pieces, with a nice char on it and a good flavor. Rice and beans were pretty standard fair, nothing to write home about. My wife had the 'Martin' plate, or plates, if you will. It literally came out on 2 separate plates, consisting of a chicken flauta, beef fajita taco, chili relleno, cheese enchilada with rice and beans, for $19. That was a ton of food for the price. She barely ate half of it before needing a box. The others in our party seemed to enjoy their shared chicken enchilada and shrimp fajitas. Service was plentiful and friendly. I've had lunch here twice within the past month. La Corona is located in Vintage Park with plenty of parking available next to the restaurant. Inside its decor is festive with nice artwork and music all in a Mexican theme, of course. After being seated by the hostess and presented the menu, on my first visit, I asked for the chicken fajitas with charro beans and their homemade flour tortillas ($17). First to arrive was the customary chips and red salsa. I enjoyed these a lot. The chips were fresh and not too thick and the salsa was warm and delicious. No complaints here! About 15 minutes later the entree arrived and I was pleased with what I saw. To begin with, the beans were very tasty in the too large bowl and I would order them again. The fajitas had plenty of meat but I would have liked more onions and peppers. Taste wise it was all very good and with the supplied guac, pico de Gallo and salad made it an enjoyable meal. Table service was also very good. I returned a couple of weeks later and this time chose the chicken fajita burrito with chili sauce but holding the cheese for $13. I forgot that I tried chicken fajita meat on the first visit and would have ordered the beef had I remembered. Again, the chips and salsa were very good and the burrito arrived about 10 minutes later. Also on the plate were refried beans and Spanish rice. The burrito was delicious smothered in the chili sauce. The sauce accented the taste. The refried beans and rice were good too but next time I might ask to sub for the charro beans Just because I liked them a little better. Finally, the table service matched my first visit. I believe La Corona to be a quality Tex Mex restaurant that I would be happy to return to and will. read more

We wanted to try a Mexican something we hadn't tried before and we were down to 4.5 star choices. We decided to try La Corona on this Saturday night. Immediately we were pleased with the friendliness and welcoming atmosphere of staff. We started with drinks ( Jumbo skinny marg and a Pacifico in a cold glass) Menu is pictured and expansive. We started with a white cheese queso ($7 small) and fresh small guacamole ($9 small). Both were excellent. Mix in a warm salsa, spicy to the tongue and we are off and rolling. The waitress had recommendations and I landed on the mole chicken enchiladas ( $19) while my girl went for ala Cartech items at $4 per (brochette, crispy beef taco and chicken flauta. We were both pleasantly surprised but reviews don't lie! The mole was on point and the shredded chicken was seasoned and tender. The food was delicious and it is absolutely authentic Mexican food. The place is like an expensive taqueria with a full bar. Fajitas were tender and delicious! We really enjoyed the ambiance. The margaritas are good however we only tried the Pepe Margarita and the Corona Margarita, the difference was the reposado tequila; both had a tad bit too much orange juice. I was debating whether to try my favorite fajita place or this place in vintage park that gets really good reviews. I decided to try a new restaurant. So I stopped in and noticed they have two entrances. After perusing the menu, this tex-mex restaurant has a lot of familiar dishes. But it also has a few items you don't normally see on menus, like ribeye steak, several fried seafood dishes, and a good size drink menu with a section focused on rum drinks. Their salsa is served warm and pretty good. They seem to cater toward spicy food lovers too with a spicy fajitas. If you order the regular, it comes with two grilled Serrano peppers for a good amount of heat. Although the pricing is much less than the top fajita places in the city, there is a reason. Their quality is just not there. Also, they give you guac, but no sour cream or cheese. I prefer to have 1 or the other when I order fajitas and most restaurant ms do include at least 1. I had 1 cocktail, which was good, but turned out to be one of the most expensive drinks on the menu, at $15. No wonder they highly recommended it. While the meal wasn't terrible. I dont see myself coming back because I ended up spending nearly the same amount as I do at my favorite place. read more

The margaritas are phenomenal! I got two margaritas- not only were they delicious - but they were HUGE!!! Definitely worth the money - which wasn't expensive at all! I got the beef flautas with beans and rice. The flautas were crispy, and the beef was tender and juicy on the inside. The rice and beans were the perfect side. My fiancée got their beef fajitas poblanos. The meat came sizzling right to our table. It was just so delicious it was almost like the meat was melting in your mouth. I ordered Tequilindo and it came with 2 tequila shots and a bottle of tamarindo. Nothing fancy. Exactly as described. I tried Chiles en nogada and it was ok but the sauce was like whipped cream. I couldn't figure out why. It did not have any flavor and was not seasoned well. Perhaps getting something off the regular menu items is not a good idea. My family got Medina, Flauta and Enchiladas de mole and were satisfied with their food. Food was tasty but nothing really jumped out to make a special visit to come here.
