5.3.26 This was our first visit here and won't be our last. The service was impeccable! The food was great! The inside was clean! Genesis was our server and she was fantastic! So sweet and answered all our questions concerning my food allergies. All the staff were very helpful and kind. Several of the staff members stopped and asked us if we needed anything. The owner, Judy stopped by and thanked us for stopping in and hopes to see us again. My husband ordered a combo plate and I ordered tostados with one fajita beef and one with fajita chicken. My tostados were delicious. The right amount of everything. I will definitely order them again! My hubby said his combo plate was great too. He also said the charro beans were the best he has had in a very long time! (I forgot to take a photo of my husband's meal. Oops-next time) We also had dessert - Cuatro leches. It normally comes with strawberries and blueberries on top but my allergies they put bananas on top. OMG, this dessert was incredible! The bananas were an added bonus!!! Finally tried Rita's after years of hearing reviews. Went in on Memorial Day and not many people were there. Service was attentive and quick. We started with white queso & ground beef in addition to the gratis chips and queso. The queso and ground beef really hit the spot it was the right consistency, not too thick and not too runny with a great flavor. Chips are average. I ordered the carnitas and my wife ordered the pork fajitas while my son had the kids taco Al carbon. I enjoyed the carnitas although I've had better. The meat had some crisp on the outside and was tender and pulled apart well on the inside. The beans and rice were average, nothing special. I did like the pickled onions and jalapeño garnish along with the salsa they added. My wife and son seemed to enjoy their dishes as well, although I didn't try either of theirs, they looked pretty good. All in all a good experience but I think this place gets over hyped a bit as it didn't blow me away the way so many people seem to say. read more

Best Mexican Food on this side of Houston. Their fajitas are cooked exactly as ordered and a real treat are the homemade corn tortillas with all of the fixings. Their cheese enchiladas are oozing cheese and the enchiladas gravy is a perfect complement. We tried their white cheese queso with the tomatoes and jalapeños and it was perfect, we devoured it, I wish we had room for dessert because I have heard their quatro leches is excellent. Twas a busy night on this corner lot of a strip, just north of Tomball. My brother and I met with some friends to catch up. The place was hopping. Ambience is casual, seating is a little tight. The food took a minute or two to come out because they were so busy. So the breakdown: 1. chips and salsa. The red sauce was good, green sauce needs a bit more flavor. Overall solid. That's a baseline necessity. 2. Queso Blanco. Fantastic. Thicc, and flavorful. I don't usually do queso, because the disappointment can be disheartening, but I was pleasantly surprised. 3. Carne Asada. Very good! It was cooked medium to medium rare. It sliced very easily, and came with the normal sides. I was happy with the choice. 4. Pork fajitas (honorable mention). I didn't have these but two of our party did, and enjoyed them. Apparently worth it in case you are wondering. 5. Margaritas. These were average. Nothing special. Overall, a good option in the Tomball/Cypress playbook. read more

I am a fan! I went during Red Fest last year. After walking all day we wanted a good meal. We found this spot and it was a hidden gem. I just moved back to Houston and found it they are 15 minutes from my new house and super excited. The red salsa is life. The quest flamed is delicious. Tortillas on point. tres Leches cake is heavenly. Definitely some good food. The margarita was not as strong as I would have liked it but eh the food is great. We have been searching for a legit home cooked Mexican place for months and being Mexican myself let me just say this hit home 100 percent. Reminded me of my mom and grandma's home cooking and we can't wait to eat our way through the menu. I grew up (or at least older) in El Paso, the home of great Mexican food. With that said I thought I would try this place that is compared to my home town. This is a small place maybe 50 seats, very cozy. I judge a Mexican restaurant by their chips and salsa, they serve both a green and a red, both were flavorful and not over spicy. I was excited to see Chile relleno on the menu as it is one of my favorites. The relleno were very good, maybe not Avila!'s but probably the best I have had in Houston. The enchiladas were tasty and I have to say the beans were very tasty. Service was very good. All of the staff of about 3 pitched in and mass such everything went very smoothly. This place is fantastic!!! The food is authentic!! Everything is so fresh!!! The crispy tacos were everything I wanted. Shells were absolutely CRISPY!!! We had the sweetest server named Faith but she wasn't the only staff member that was attentive to us. Faith kept a smile on her face and that was certainly pleasant. I have to stay away and try others in the area. Restaurant business is tough but it is really hard to screw up a breakfast taco. Judy and Javier, the owners, are the perfect hosts. Javier checks every plate and bowl leaving the kitchen for perfection and Judy makes sure everyone is taken care of. So friendly. The dessert. Omg the dessert. Churros filled with dulce de leche, stacked like Lincoln logs into a two layer square. Was in the area getting some work done on my car and saw this place rated quite nicely on here, so decided to give it a shot. I'm going to start with my review on their dessert, yes, their dessert... They have this cake called a cuatro leches, not a tres leches ladies and gentlemen, a 4 leches. I ain't Mexican, so I don't know where the best tres leches cake is in houston, but uhhh, I ate this cake in like 2 minutes. It was deeellliiishus. It really took the cake. lol Okay, had two of their house margaritas and they were pretty good. For our main plate, I had the enchiladas verdes and wife had the pescado relleno plate. Both of these plates were amazeballs. The chips and their sauces they give are both delicious as is their chile con queso, we had the white version. Went to pick up a to go order. Staff was very friendly! Really great customer service. I think Toni's an independently owned by a family. Metal utensils, real plates, plastic table cloths, paper napkins. While we waited for our to go order they brought us chips and salsa!! Ordered Carabean steak. It was very tender and flavorful!.
