    Loaded fries

I heard a lot about this place and decided to come here as I was in the mood for Mexican. I will start by saying the parking sucks so I'd suggest you take an uber as it seems like they only have ten spots to park. Now I waited for a good little bit maybe 45 mins then was seated. The inside was cute as they had photo ops that in the restaurant for people to take pictures. The food would be ranked in my top five best restaurants in the city. I ordered the loaded fries and the portions were enough to feed two people. Everything was seasoned and hot. Service was cool but the drinks and lack of parking would be why they don't have five stars. I thought the drinks were overpriced and not strong. I'd come back for the food and would encourage you to try this spot.

Food is always delicious here every time I visit! I'm actually shocked this is my first review! For the food I do wish the chips and salsa on the table came with the green salsa too! I do believe you have to ask for it but the chips are always very fresh! The food presentation is very much chefs kiss! THE SOFT SERVE DRINK! 10/10 Customer service is very nice here! Down to the photographers that will take your pictures. All waiters are very attentive! Very quick to ask questions. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice on the outside the colors attract many visitors! The inside is nice too. I do wish though if you sit at a table there was just a little more space between guest. Since wait times can be up to 4 to 5 hours long your time to eat is timed!! YES TIMED! which it's enough time but it does feel rushed. Parking can be a little hectic! I do feel like the workers take up space from guest! I'm not sure how they can make it easy for the workers. The parking is a little much! You may feel defeated like you will never find a space! Will I return!? YES!!!

This was my first time at Dona Leti's, and I had heard a lot about it, so I was excited to check it out. I was honestly a little nervous about parking, but I ended up finding a spot right away as soon as I pulled into the lot, which felt like a win. As soon as I sat down at the bar, I was greeted and given chips and salsa, which I appreciated. The space was pretty full with a line outside, but it did not feel overly loud or overwhelming, which made for a comfortable atmosphere. They have new soft-serve margaritas, so I got the strawberry mango swirl. It was really good. I do think adding an extra shot would take it from good to great, so I would recommend that if you can. The only downside was the price. At $21, it felt a bit expensive for a drink in Houston. For food, I had the birria tacos with consommé, rice, and all the fixings. They were good, but I would not say I was blown away. I would definitely come back and try something else next time. The menu is huge so you should have no problem finding something you like! The surf and turf egg rolls are already on my list. One thing I will say is the portions are huge. This is definitely a place where you can share, or plan to have leftovers for later. The staff was super nice and attentive, even though it was pretty busy, which I always appreciate. Overall, I had a good time and would come back to give it another try. I also know they have another location, so I would be interested in checking that one out as well.

Honestly, there's nothing to brag about here aside from the portion sizes. The presentation is nice, but the food itself is mediocre at best. While the cocktail décor looks great, the drinks were weak and underwhelming. The parking lot is chaotic. I was fortunate enough to snag handicap parking up front and find a seat at the bar, but I overheard the wait time was 1-2 hours. There's no way I would wait that long to eat anywhere. The restrooms are in need of a facelift, which was disappointing. Overall, there are far better Mexican food options in the area.

We went here on a Saturday around 1 and were told there was a 2 hour wait. We walked to another bar nearby to wait it out so it wasn't too bad! Once we got a table, we tried the soft serve margs and they were delicious. So smooth and a good mix of tart, sweet, and spicy. And they def packed a punch! The food was pretty solid too, as was the service. The vibes were super fun! Everyone around was having a great time. For sure worth the wait and hype!

I can't believe I haven't left my review on here yet. Okay the first time I tried DL; I ate here 3x in one week. the first two days was back to back, and again with a friend. omg when I say that the flavor is all the way there, it is. I wish they will turn the level of the music down a notch, and provided chips when you have leftovers for to go. Parking is limited and they provide comp valet that works for tips, which is a plus.

What a vibe. Food was GOOD. Service was excellent. Looking forward to going back when the spring breakers aren't here.

I've been wanting to try Dona leti's for a very long time now. My boyfriend & I were craving tex-mex and decided today was the day! The wait was 45 minutes which was expected considering the lines outside and how packed it was inside. I ordered the queso-birria tacos and my boyfriend got the surf-turf burrito. We thought the food was good. Nothing spectacular. The chips and salsa were good as well. Also, our server was very kind! However, it took almost an hour to get our food (tasted kinda cold) and the table booths felt very dirty. I do not think this place is worth the hype or the time you spending waiting here. The food is like any other Tex-Mex place in houston.

Wanted to see what the hype is about., there's a TikTok video about this being the best burrito in town. But it didn't meet my expectations., it was super dry but yes big portion but there was very little to no avocado. I had to add a bunch of salsa so it can have some extra flavor and moisture. I can see a late night indulgence and maybe some drinks with friends. But not a restaurant built for a family friendly atmosphere. More doesn't mean better, it was okay at best.

Dona Leti's!! We visited Dona Leti's on Saturday, November 29. The wait was about 20 minutes, which was perfectly fine because it gave us a moment to sit and relax. Once seated, our waiter brought out chips and salsa. We placed our order, and to start I went with a Tequila Sunrise. I don't drink beer, so I skipped the Corona Sunrise. For my meal, I ordered the Sizzlin' Asada Carne and it truly came out sizzling, which I loved. The food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked really well. I added flour tortillas and all the fixings, and everything came together perfectly. The inside of the restaurant was painted very nice. I love the background and graffiti painting. Overall, I rate Dona Leti's a solid 5/5. Our waiter was super nice and the food was great. Would I return? YES!! Anytime I'm in town!

    Mini fajita steak street tacos

My fellow co-managers and some of our administrative team went out to eat here during lunch last month. I've only ordered beef fajita street tacos before via DoorDash. The beef fajita street tacos with corn tortillas came in a pack of 5 and was loaded with meat. On the side, it had grilled onions and one grilled jalapeño. It was so good with the lime and hot sauce. I would order this again. I pass by Doña Leti's every day on the way to work when I'm at my Spring Branch office. It's an awkward location when you're coming from the opposite direction. You have to take a u-turn. It is a very short space between those turning right from the I-10 exit and the entrance to the valet or parking area, if you can find a space. The hotel has blocked off spaces that will tow, so be mindful of that. The valet is by tip. It's inconvenient because once they pull your car they have to go back out the street into that limited space, and you still have to do the same to exit. With the cars turning right or going straight, you have to wait a while. Tabatha was our server. She told us we had a 2-hour dining limit. We weren't planning on staying that long because work, but she was so attentive and personable. One of our admin team members ordered shrimp enchiladas, and she brought out the 2 sauces for her to try first before selecting. Everyone enjoyed their food. I decided to try something different, so I had their birria taco plate which was loaded with meat. It came with rice, beans, bacon-wrapped jalapeño and a consommé with ramen. I didn't like this entree as much as the beef fajita street tacos. The rice was kind of sticky and lacked flavor. The birria tacos were a large portion, so I ate one and took the rest to-go. After a while, everything just tasted salty. Their chips and red and green salsa were the best. I could snack on that all day. Their French fries are ok with a little crispy texture to it. Despite the horrible location and parking situation, I would come here again for tacos and the great service. I know our admin team member would want to come back for her birthday lunch here.

Go big or go home. When they say everything is bigger in Texas, Dona Leti's definitely contributes to that saying. Amazing Tex-Mex experience. Parking and wait times can be a challenge. They have valet or you can try to self park. Came through during a weekend dinner rush and had to circle the parking lot a couple times before securing a spot. Put our name down and was told the wait time was 2 hours! I had to see it through though as this place has been touted to me before on many occasions. While waiting we got some drinks, they're big, fun, and strong! Finally got seated, service was great. Started off with the dip trio to sample their guac, queso, and corn dip. Loved it, my favorite was the queso. The homemade chips were also much better than standard tortilla chips. For the main I went for the Texas Burrito w/ a cheese crust. Holy smokes, this thing was massive. I can eat, but this burrito was maaaasssive. Greasy from the cheese crust, but if you're a cheese lover, you'll probably drool over this. I don't even want to know how many calories I consumed, definitely can be shared if you only have a modest appetite. Would 100% order again, but not something I can eat everyday or else my arteries would probably clog up. This is tex-mex to the extreme! The ambiance is great, a couple birthday parties were happening and they got the crew coming out to celebrate like someone just ordered a bottle at the club. Free birthday shots! It's a vibe here at Dona Leti's, would definitely recommend for those wanting to experience some amazing tex-mex!

Allow me to be Review No. 1,100 following my visit to this wonderful culinary gem yesterday…read more By default, Spring Branch is Houston's Koreatown, but it's not unusual to find establishments with Spanish-language branding on them throughout the neighborhood. And Tacos Doña Lena, on which I'll heap tons of praise on, is among them. A group of friends and I had supper here before a live show down the street at Eighteen Ten Ojeman. Upon seeing the storefront when we pulled into the parking lot, my first thought was, "Okay, this is legit Mexican, not Tex-Mex." The interior is quite small with some tables and an ample late Saturday afternoon crowd. What caught my eye is how the environment is what you might expect to find at a family-run taqueria off the beaten path. Rock en Español blaring from the sound system. Colorful papel picado draped from the ceiling. A framed Mexican flag and several references to the central Mexican municipality of Guanajuato. The intoxicating smell of spice-laced grilled beef wafting through the air. Simply put, we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto. I glanced at the menu. There are numerous, delicious-sounding items that happen to be wallet-friendly, a bit cheaper than if you were to go to Gringos or Jimmy Changas. According to a mutual, the tacos here are the main draw, but what really caught my attention and appetite was the ramen birria. Mujeres y caballeros (ladies and gentlemen), let me proclaim that Tacos Doña Lena turns a noodle dish with origins in Japan and is a known staple in college dorm rooms into a must-try on this part of America's fourth-largest city. Two amazing food cultures unite for a fiery meeting of the minds. Anchored by a rich, tasty consomé that's spicy but not enough to where you need to drink multiple glasses of water, there's a prime mix of ramen noodle, beef birria, cheese, fried egg, rabanos, garbazo, and corn accompanied by cilantro, onions, and a pair of fried tostadas. I was so impressed with how the contents of the ramen blended together. Since it was ramen after all despite the south of the border touchup, I still ate it the traditional way: pick up the noodles and sip the soup. There was so much that I had no choice but to put it in a takeout container. Sure, Spring Branch may be home to some great traditional Korean restaurants, but don't sleep on Tacos Doña Lena.
