They do notify you that you only have 1hr 30 minutes to order and eat. They honestly do time you even if the waiter takes forever to come back to take your order!! We saw the waiter about 2 times the whole dinner, so i recommend ordering everything at once!! Starter: *Surf & Turf Eggrolls: omg these were really good, only downside was that if you take long to eat they start getting greasy and soggy. Two words: Big Portions. You can have a meal for a day or two with one entree here. I didn't know what to expect when coming here on a Wednesday afternoon but a 45 minute wait wasn't it. They offer happy hour tacos and beer before 5 so many that is why it was so busy. The place was packed and the wait was a bit long. Once seated I ordered tacos, chicken empanadas and my friend ordered tacos as well. Everything was delicious but on the pricey side. My drink an Aqua Fresca twisted was almost 20$. I will start by saying the parking sucks so I'd suggest you take an uber as it seems like they only have ten spots to park. Now I waited for a good little bit maybe 45 mins then was seated. This was my first time at Dona Leti's, and I had heard a lot about it, so I was excited to check it out. I was honestly a little nervous about parking, but I ended up finding a spot right away as soon as I pulled into the lot, which felt like a win. As soon as I sat down at the bar, I was greeted and given chips and salsa, which I appreciated. The space was pretty full with a line outside, but it did not feel overly loud or overwhelming, which made for a comfortable atmosphere. They have new soft-serve margaritas, so I got the strawberry mango swirl. It was really good. I do think adding an extra shot would take it from good to great, so I would recommend that if you can. The only downside was the price. At $21, it felt a bit expensive for a drink in Houston. For food, I had the birria tacos with consommé, rice, and all the fixings. They were good, but I would not say I was blown away. I would definitely come back and try something else next time. The menu is huge so you should have no problem finding something you like! The surf and turf egg rolls are already on my list. One thing I will say is the portions are huge. This is definitely a place where you can share, or plan to have leftovers for later. My fellow co-managers and some of our administrative team went out to eat here during lunch last month. I've only ordered beef fajita street tacos before via DoorDash. The beef fajita street tacos with corn tortillas came in a pack of 5 and was loaded with meat. On the side, it had grilled onions and one grilled jalapeño. It was so good with the lime and hot sauce. I would order this again. I pass by Doña Leti's every day on the way to work when I'm at my Spring Branch office. It's an awkward location when you're coming from the opposite direction. You have to take a u-turn. It is a very short space between those turning right from the I-10 exit and the entrance to the valet or parking area, if you can find a space. The hotel has blocked off spaces that will tow, so be mindful of that. The valet is by tip. It's inconvenient because once they pull your car they have to go back out the street into that limited space, and you still have to do the same to exit. With the cars turning right or going straight, you have to wait a while. Tabatha was our server. She told us we had a 2-hour dining limit. We weren't planning on staying that long because work, but she was so attentive and personable. One of our admin team members ordered shrimp enchiladas, and she brought out the 2 sauces for her to try first before selecting. Everyone enjoyed their food. I decided to try something different, so I had their birria taco plate which was loaded with meat. It came with rice, beans, bacon-wrapped jalapeño and a consommé with ramen. I didn't like this entree as much as the beef fajita street tacos. The rice was kind of sticky and lacked flavor. The birria tacos were a large portion, so I ate one and took the rest to-go. After a while, everything just tasted salty. Their chips and red and green salsa were the best. I could snack on that all day. Their French fries are ok with a little crispy texture to it. Despite the horrible location and parking situation, I would come here again for tacos and the great service. I don't even want to know how many calories I consumed, definitely can be shared if you only have a modest appetite. This was my first time at Dona Letis and overall it was pretty good. It's definitely more Tex Mex vibes. I was hoping for more of that classic carne asada flavor, but it came out more like steak fajita style. Not exactly what I had in mind, but it wasn't bad at all. We went during happy hour, so my tacos and drink were a really good deal. I added a side of beans and rice to pull everything together, which helped round out the meal. We had Sunday funday, it was a little late in the day but always a wait. They told us 1 hour and yes it was about that time, it's great that you can track yourself in line. Once seated, we sat directly under a vent blowing full blast and in front of a large industrial size mobile air conditioner also blowing full blast. It was freezing cold. Absolutely do not, I repeat, do not place an order to Dona Leti via Door Dash. This past week was teacher appreciation week at my son's school and his lovely teachers requested food from there. As I work full time, an advanced delivery was placed. On the 2nd for a May 5th delivery. After the scheduled delivery time, I was notified my order was canceled. A second attempt was made for a same day delivery and once again the order was canceled AFTER the promised delivery time. I was told by door dash that the most they could do was to reach out to the restaurant and figure out why the order was canceled TWICE and provide me with a $5 credit. I find this to be HIGHLY unacceptable as this has left teachers without promised lunches on now two occasions. The Door Dash relationship with Dona Leti's needs to be severed if the two parties cannot deliver on their services. read more

I split the appetizer with 2 other friends, and after that, plus our drinks, we were already too full for our entrees. And the prices make sooo much sense for how much food you are getting! I ordered the horchata cocktail (9/10 - I only wish it was stronger) with surf and turf eggrolls (10/10, especially with that queso!!!!) and the birria taquitos (8/10 also with that queso!). My friends ordered the margaritas (frozen & on the rocks), shrimp birria tacos, and the fajita enchilada plate - and they all loved their food/drinks too. The music was a vibe, the service was great, and the place was PACKED. From a taste perspective this was one of the most flavorful meals I've had at a restaurant! And I do not say that lightly. It felt like they could do no wrong. What I paid for what I got and how it tasted, almost feels like a steal. When I read the reviews most of the issues I see people post are about the parking but I've not personally had a hard time parking. First time I went, years ago, I was able to on a side road no problem with a short walk to the restaurant. My most recent visit I was able to park right in front of the restaurant. I understand that's not everyone's experience but it is mine. Before I get deeply into the food I do want to say say my first visit I remember it being only good compared to my second visit, where I was just amazed the entire time. I believe one of the reasons for the differences is that I got birria, which I don't honestly think I'm the biggest fan of in general as a meal. Not that it's bad it just isn't as delicious to me as others make it out to be, and I feel like this regardless of almost any place I've had it at. Looking back on my photos I see I had some of the same items but I feel they were even better the next time. Even the presentation was better. It's great to see a restaurant that is already doing well continue to improve items. Compared to similar restaurants I would say that the prices here can seem high but once you get the portions and see how much more they give you, I think it's a really great deal. Not only are the portions generous but they are delicious through and through. The first time I went here I had the Quesabirria tacos and though I didn't love them they were very good. The consomé has ramen noodles in it and though I know that's a plus for some for me it doesn't do anything. I also got the Strawberry Pineapple juice the first time I went because strawberries and pineapple are my favorite fruit juices so no brainer with them together. It was good the first time but it was definitely better the second time. The second time it came in a large glass jar and was loaded with strawberries more than I've ever had in any drink, EVER! I'll probably not even try something else next time I go and get this again. Additionally, both times I've gone has been with my brother and both times he ordered the Surf & Turf Eggrolls, which have beef and shrimp. They are another great example of an item that went from damn good the first time to F***ING DELICIOUS!! The cheese went from only sprinkled over the open eggrolls to beautifully melted overtop. I think it's the best thing I had here both times. Like really though, how did a good ass meal become so much better over the course of 2 years!?!!? Firstly let me say that due to all the large portions I was kinda full at the first bite, but refused to have a freshly made meal and not eat at least half of it. I'm glad that I did because again this was another delicious item. Just a testament to the fact they could do no wrong. The burrito of course came with rice and beans (I chose refried), and while neither were life changing, both were more than solid. Our waitress was very helpful. Things were busy so she was moving around a lot but was able to be there when we needed and quickly accommodates to a request, such as when I asked for additional cutlery. Pretty much exactly what you want from the person waiting your table. The restaurant is obviously very popular due to the complaints about parking. We last went on a Thursday and no table stayed empty for an extended time. The music was good and though it could be considered too loud for some, to me it's a part of the vibe that comes with the restaurant. It's fascinating for me to think about how I left the last time and had been thinking all this time that it was only an okay place and now I cannot wait for the next time I go back.
