I hate to share a fave but after coming to this place consistently for the past...2 years, they are just that. Consistent. The food, the staff, the pleasant and cleanliness. Shout out to Eric the owner, Jesus the manager, Gio at the front counter, the staff cooking the food and making the tortillas. I come here almost 1x a week and no complaints. The line is steady and out the door all the time and that is because the food is good and worth it every time. Thank you.
My new favorite taco place!! I came with my friend this past saturday and it was so crowded! We were able to order and find a spot to sit pretty fast. Since it was my first time here, I ended up ordering 1 chorizo and 1 asada taco, churros, limon aguas, and my friend got the asada taco as well and a hortchata! Since it was super busy (especially on saturday night) it was about a 30 minute wait foe our food but it was well worth it! They hand out free chicharrones and they were super crunchy and a nice snack while we waited for our food. The limon aguas was super refreshing especially in the summer heat and the horchata was really good! We sat at the counter top that overlooks the kitchen. I love that the open kitchen concept so you can see them making your food right in front of you! Everything smelled so good so I was excited for my food. I love that they give radishes, cucumbers, and plenty of limes on the side. I definitely love all of the toppings and the more the better! I tried all of the salsas and the salsa de chile de arbol was by far my favorite! super spicy but had so much flavor. The chorizo was good but a little dry for my liking. I did just want to try it so I can try more than one flavor but I think I would get it again as a breakfast taco with egg instead. The asada was my favorite of the two so much flavor and plenty of meat! I was content with these 2 tacos but I could have definitely eaten more if we didn't order churros as well! The churros came with classic condensed milk and dulce de leche which is just carmelized condensed milk. The churros were crunchy and warm on the outside and had a chewy texture like mochi on the inside! Super yummy and not too sweet! I liked both sauces and would definitely get this again. Overall, I had a great experience and I will be craving the tacos until the next time I can come back! I can't wait to try a lot of their other menu items as well. Definitely recommend!
The place is clean, love the atmosphere and vibes. I Tried the tacos and fries and elote. So good! The lemonade was fresh and tasted natural. I'd definitely come back. The taste is very authentic Mexican food.
We usually go to Tacos Frontero off I-10, but decided to stop at this location instead. Their tacos are always really good, which is why this experience was so disappointing. We waited 20 minutes for our food while other customers who ordered after us were getting served first. Once we finally said something, they brought our order out but it was cold. We ate and left, but definitely won't be coming back to this location. We'll stick to their other spot that we know and enjoy. Love their tacos, just really disappointed with today's experience.
I wanted to try it, I got a carne asada torta, id say its shareable between 2 people. It bigger then then average taco truck. They have a selection of salsas, I liked the salsa Verde, it was actually spicy. I love spicy salsa.
Torta was good. It was loaded with beef. I wish the bread would hold a little better. It was delicious. Service was good. Enjoyed the complimentary pork rinds.

Family indulged in delicious large portioned and filled to the brim chicken burritos and chicken quesadilla with small condiment sauces with reasonable prices. I waited in the car while my party placed the order and shared the friendly staff was offered pork skin samples during the wait.

Let me start off by saying I don't even like guacamole and I loved it here! Everything was so delicious and made so fresh. The place was so crowded with a line out the door. They had someone come up and let us know it would be about 25-35 minutes after we ordered for our food to be ready. The line moved quickly and the food came out faster than anticipated. It was obviously worth the wait and they also brought around free chicharrones to our table for us to snack on! Everyone on the staff was so nice and you could tell everyone there was excited to eat :) Can't wait to go back for ALL the quesabirria and guac!
Drove an hour and a half round trip to try this place--and let me tell you, it was so worth it. I'd make the drive again in a heartbeat for these tacos. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in the right place. There was a line of people out the door, which honestly reassured me that this spot was legit. Despite the dinner rush, the line moved quickly, and tables were turning over efficiently. The staff clearly had their system down--taking orders, clearing tables, and keeping everything flowing without missing a beat. The place was packed, but it didn't feel chaotic--just lively and well-run. Now for the food--absolutely phenomenal. I tried the asada tacos, adobada tacos, a side of charro beans with asada and cheese, churros, and chicharrones. Not a single miss. The tacos were filled to the brim with meat--generous portions that truly give you bang for your buck. The charro beans with asada and cheese had me skeptical at first, but wow--flavorful, hearty, and delicious. The complimentary chicharrones were a nice touch to snack on while waiting for our food. And the churros? Light, fluffy, fresh out of the fryer, and perfectly dusted with cinnamon. The perfect end to a perfect meal. By the end of the night, the plates were wiped clean and everyone left full and happy. A Tijuana-Style Taco Gem in Houston Let me put y'all on real quick! Tacos Frontera has hands down the best Tijuana-style tacos I've had in Houston so far. No debate. It's always busy (which says a lot), but so worth the wait every single time. My go-to? The chicken tacos LOADED with guacamole -- juicy, flavorful, and layered with that street-style realness. And their horchata? BABY. It's creamy, perfectly spiced, and lowkey addictive. Yes, it's small inside and yes, it's fast-paced, but that's part of the charm. Feels like a little slice of Tijuana right here in the city. And luckily for me, it's close enough to swing by on a weekday when the crowds aren't as wild. If you know, you know. The closest you'll get to "real" TJ-style tacos and burritos outside of Baja or San Diego! We're from San Diego, so we know good carne asada and Tacos Frontera is where it's at in Houston! Definitely a taste of home outside of San Diego and Tijuana. Finding authentic TJ flavor in Texas (not Tex-Mex) was a welcome surprise! Our carne asada was grilled al carbón and you could taste the char! Juicy carne full of flavor, thin but strong and tasty tortillas (they really held everything together well), perfect chunky guac (not too fancy or full of fillers--IYKYK), and a variety of delicious salsas and hot sauces! An added bonus was the complimentary chicharrones! I'll take those over tortilla chips any day! The dining room isn't very big, but it's clean and has good a/c....there's an outdoor patio as well. Service was fast and friendly. Tacos and burritos were hefty and full of flavor. Ample parking. So glad that my family from San Diego (who I know get real Mexican taco shop cravings) can get a taste of home right in their Houston backyard! read more
Been here a couple times and it always hits the spot. This is also one of my family favorites. It gets busy but it's worth the wait. Limited indoor seating, and since it gets busy we usually order to go. When I did dine in it was nice experience, feels authentic like eating a local spot in Mexico. You have the Mexican cokes available, the style of tacos has a big scoop of guac which makes them a bit unique compared to other spots that charge extra for guac. Their tacos are big too! Not the mini small taco tortillas you get in a food truck. These are big tacos so getting 2 is enough for me. I've tried their Asado tacos and their quesadillas and their quesabirrias all 10/10. read more

Great food, great service, and great ambiance! The music is a bit loud, but no big deal. The tacos are fresh and delicious--everything is fresh. I wouldn't get the sausage ones, but everything else is great. The burritos are huge, and they're not stingy with the amount of meat you get in your food. I definitely recommend this place to all taco lovers and to anyone looking to try a different type of taco. Everything is great--I'll go again, and I highly recommend anyone to check it out! read more

There was a line when we were there on a Saturday around 3:30pm. As soon as we approach the restaurant, you can already smell the aroma of the meat. The line is slow moving but the smells signal that we are in for a treat. Waited for about 30 mins before we were able to order. While waiting, we were served pork rinds (chicharon) and it was warm and free! We even asked for seconds and gladly given another tray. We ordered tacos and also Jamaica drink. The tacos were great and consensus was the steak tacos were the best. The taco itself was very fresh and just lightly charred. The steak taco's meat was very flavorful. Free parking as it's part of the mall. Overall, a really great treat for reasonable prices! read more

Packed but worth the wait? Let's see... Drove 1 hour just to eat TIJUANA style tacos, trust me "I know Tijuana tacos!" So I will be completely honest, I always am! lol Sitting area is small but you still find a place to sit, Friday night and found 2 spots at the bar area! I am so eager to see if it really has that much guacamole!!! Sitting right in front of the cooks and oml the guacamole! The meat!!! Handmade tortillas!! Everything looks amazing now to eat and share my tasty experience. The salsas area: Chile de árbol, tomatillo and jalapeño.. the Chile de árbol is HOT!!! I am Mexican and I mean it!! It's hot!! Tasty but too hot lol The tomatillo is spicy and tasty! Loved it!! Jalapeño says "casi no pica" lol it still spicy but tasty!! Let me tell you!! The tacos are well served!! Lots of meat!! Very savory and the tortilla is delicious!!!! Carne asada is carne asada not fajitas like other places!! And the adoba is thick and tasty! I wish they would grill it more and cut it smaller but overall the food is amazing here!! They are doing a great job! Customer service is great too! They are friendly and very attentive! They work pretty fast to ensure you get your food quick but don't take shortcuts!! They put a lot of everything in the taco! Cilantro, onions and guacamole!! Give some more lemons and rábanos lol and probably add some grilled onions!! Everything else is amazing!! The elote is going home so I will for sure update the taste! My hubby is born & raised SoCa and TJ, so we were excited to try this taco shop! No joke, this is the real deal! Anyone who has transplanted from SoCa must try this place!! It's like a little home away from home. The carne asada is fantastic and the queso birria is tdf. Fish tacos aren't on the menu but you can still order them!! Carne asada burrito delicious.. The portions are huge. Everything we've ordered has been authentic and delicious.. MUST TRY THE JALAPEÑO SAUCE on the table!! So satisfying. read more
Tacos frontera was a great surprise. Some of the best tacos I have tried in a long time. The staff are super friendly and helpful always checking in and a quick service despite the business. The place makes you feel like you are in Mexico with traditional decoration and a long bar to sit at while watching the staff cook your food. The freshly fried chicharrón is a great starter, the mulitas are to die for and very well served, their aguas frescas are great to beat the heat, but the best thing is the made to order tortillas. It is hard to find a really good tortilla around but theirs are as good as they get. Warm, soft, chewy, thick enough to hold everything in place, and the best flavor. Recommend recommend recommend!!! read more

Got the asada tacos at Tacos Frontera -- portions were hefty and definitely fill you up! The fresh tortillas were delicious, and the salsas had something for every spice level. Tacos Frontera has been at the top of my "Try Soon" list for awhile. They're fairly new and made it's rounds on social media amongst all the food influencers in town. I can probably count on one hand how often I am in that particular side of town, so when I was, I made it a point to come here. It is located in the corner of a busy shopping strip. I came at lunch time and this place was busy as can be. Parking was tight and there was a line to the door. It is a little tight inside with tables set up close together. They also have bar top seating along the wall as well as facing the kitchen. It was packed in there, but seats opened up frequently to where no one was left standing. There's a huge menu on the wall, so know what you want before you get to the counter. I was a little nervous ordering as my Spanish isn't all that, but they switched to English right away and made it easy for me. The nice gal behind the counter asked if it was my first time and gave great suggestions. What they are known for is their Tijuana style tacos. On top of that, they also sell tortas, burritos, quesadillas, the popular quesabirria, and all the sides like elotes, chips, salsas, chicharrons, beans, fries and churros. Previous reviews said they give chicharrons while you wait but I guess I wasn't lucky that day as other tables did get it but not me. No biggie! As good as all the food looked, I came for the tacos. I honestly did not know what Tijuana style tacos were, but it was like all the other authentic tacos I've had with onions, cilantro but then an addition of a nice slathering of tasty guacamole. If that make's it Tijuanan, sign me up! I was told I had to get the carne asada (steak) and the adobada (marinated pork). I also got a salchicha (sausage) to round it out. One thing working against them is the wait times. It took awhile for my food to come out but when it did, it was nice and fresh. I was worried three tacos wouldn't fill me up, but these tacos were pretty big and filled to the brim with meat. They did not skimp on any of the tacos. I am not usually a corn tortilla fan, but these were nicely charred and help up great to all the toppings. All the meats were well seasoned and perfectly cooked and topped with fresh onions and jalapeno. The guac put it over the top and was a very welcome addition to the taco. They give three salsas of varying heats and I liked them all, but the hottest one was not only delicious, but packed the heat I look for in a hot sauce. I was stuffed and glad I did not order additional food. Overall, I will go ahead and put Tacos Frontera atleast in the top three taco places in Houston in my humble opinion. It's some place I would even make a dedicated drive for. I will be back and try out other options on the menu. read more

We stopped by this taco shop on a Thursday night around 7pm. This place was busyyy. There were a few tables as well as bar seating available, but almost all seats were occupied. Service was good, but it did take a while for our food to come out. After we made our order, it took about 30 minutes for our tacos to be ready. However they did bring out complimentary chicharrones for us while we waited. We ordered: - Tacos - Asada - Adobada - Quesabirria - Elote - Horchata I can see why this place is so busy! The tacos were delicious! I really enjoyed the smoky flavor the meat had. I liked that there were some fatty pieces in the quesabirria as well. I thought the asada was a little chewy though, that was my least favorite one. I also liked all the extra veggies on the side. There were onions, cilantro, pickled red onion, cucumbers, radishes, and limes. Their sauces were good too. I used the jalapeño and chile de arbol sauce. The elote was pretty good as well, I just wanted it spicier. The horchata was nice and refreshing. read more
Went on a Tuesday night and it was PACKED which really speaks to how good the food is. I got 3 tacos (1 Asada, 1 Adobada (pork), and 1 pollo) and a cup of charro beans. The tacos were super filling and the meats are very well-seasoned. The beef and pork were juicy and tender and the best part about the meat is the charred grilled flavor they have. The tortillas were also freshly made in house and the guacamole was creamy and flavorful. I was also a big fan of the range of salsa's they had. They have mild to spicy so there's something for everyone. (9.8/10) The charro beans were standard overall and the perfect addition to this meal (6.5/10) The service is fast and though the is limited parking in the front of the restaurant, its apart of a huge shopping center with plenty of parking around. I will definitely be back for more! read more

I really wanted to gate keep this place, but it's too good to keep to myself. This of not my favorite taco joint in Houston. I will drive 30 minutes to get here. The tacos come standard, with onion, cilantro, and guacamole. Quesabirra tacos were phenomenal.. The bar was very tender. I love that they give you a side of lime and pickled onions. Once you add that to the Quesabirra tacos, and dip it in the consommé... I highly recommend this place. The hours are a little funky as they are open 11 to 2, and then 4 to 9 Monday through Friday. All day, Saturday and Sunday. read more

Service was AMAZING! Can't speak enough about how they treat you here. They have chicharrones for free and they bring them to your table. Salsas were on point. The tacos were a good size we got four for 2 and was more than enough. The elote in a cup was really good too. The place was clean and everything looked organized. read more
The food here is excellent and worth the wait! Also the manager (or owner?) was very concerned that we get our food quickly and let us know every few minutes how our order was coming along. He probably felt the need to do that as the place was absolutely packed and somewhat chaotic, but the kitchen staff was running like clockwork. read more
