You are greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and you are given a 15 min. grace period for your table, before your reservation is cancelled, per my friend. We waited a bit because I was 13 minutes late, delaying the seating of our party - when we were seated, the place was not full, so I'm curious why we had to wait. **Food: The food was hot and well-prepared. Nothing was overly salty and the side sauce on the kebobs was a perfect complement to flavor - I didn't have the burger that my friend had but he described it as flavorful and the fries looked very crispy and perfectly made **Ambience: You have two hours to eat from when the orders are put into the system - this always irks me because you feel like you're on a conveyor belt and rushed to eat. For $30 chicken kebobs, can I have a moment? But, I have a theory...the volume of the music helps to "bump" you right on out the door and speeds up your eating - it was too loud and made it hard for us to hear the server, much less the convo at the table. We ordered some beverages and additional sauces, which were never delivered when the restaurant started to fill up and we ultimately cancelled them --Glows: Great service, good app (the wings), front end staff was pleasant and took a photo of our group, good/hot food --Grows: Wipe down the glass leading to the restroom (VISIBLE and clear smudges from people touching the glass), clean the chandeliers, clear out the (kitchen?) smoke from the men's room, allow for an approved list of side item subs (rice or fries/mashed potatoes, etc.), stop charging for 2 additional ozs. of sauce for the food - the food cost doesn't justify this "nickel and diming", don't serve a chipped or broken plate to a customer: THROW IT OUT (details make the difference) Hacks: Park on the 2nd level and enter through the front-and-rear pass-through elevator to get to the restaurant, get two hours of free parking at the front desk The verdict: I think it's a one-and-done. Fabulous! Is one word to describe Confessions. This restaurant/lounge is meticulously decorated to the grandest it can be. Bright, eclectic vibe, very attractive restaurant inside and out. What makes this place special is not just the way they greet you, but the way they take their greeting up a notch by offering their guests a complimentary glass of champagne! Nice touch for sure! They offer outside and inside seating. Reservations are essential and will make your time there better with better aeating options. The way to access this place is by parking in the adjacent garage (Aspire), parking on the 2nd floor, walking in the direction towards Retails and taking the elevator to "2R". It will let you off right at their checkin desk. They do offer validation up to 2 hours. They offer limited seating while you wait. If coming with a party of people, it is best to make sure all members of your party are there, before they will seat you. They offer party rooms as well. Absolutely gorgeous spot for happy hour, birthday dinners, or just a night out. The music is a little too loud for a date night (if you're really trying to listen to your date...lol), but nice nonetheless. Bathrooms are beautifully decorated, which was a nice touch. I did feel that their pricing for entrees and sides was a bit high for their portion size, but the food was delicious. I selected the Salmon for my entree, this came on a bed of mashed potatoes. For the $40 cost, I feel it should have at least come with a vegetable side (i.e. their broccolini). The broccolini side by itself was $11!! This particular evening they were offering their Lychee Martinis for $1, so they made up for the lack of a vegetable with my entree. I came for a birthday dinner, so my table ordered up a lot of food. From what I tasted, it was very good. At one point in the evening, their system went down which made it challenging to pay for our meals, the elevators stopped working, and it felt like the air stopped working as well- but our Server and the rest of the Staff did their best they could to accommodate us. We got here as they opened at 4:00 p.m. One thing that was disappointing was that they're supposed to welcome guests with a complimentary glass of champagne, but we were told they had already run out. That was surprising considering they had just opened. They also ran out of sparkling water. If you're advertising a complimentary drink, I'd expect inventory to be checked and stocked before opening for the day. Other than that, we had a really good experience. We went on Tuesday for the special where you buy two drinks and get a salad, entrée, and dessert included. It was definitely worth it! The drinks were strong, and the food was delicious. Then you are taken into the main space which is upscale but also whimsical with a life size Iron Man. There's also a balcony area that I'm sure will be a whole scene during the cooler months. The strawberry wings had no depth in flavor just wings tossed in strawberry jam. No seasoning, no spice, no salt, no thought. Stick to the regular flavors - and fyi the strawberry will be on in your nails for the next 24 hours. The lamb Rockefeller was innovative but just didn't hit for me. Because Yelp recommended it, I looked at the Confessions website and immediately suggested it to my dinner group based solely on the aesthetic portrayed in the photos. Later, when I found out it was a hookah bar, I became concerned, for my friends and I are definitely foodies with high expectations when it comes to food. However, midway through our appetizers, my concerns dissipated as the oohs and aahs floated across our table. We were a party of 7, and every one of us, without exception, remarked at the deliciousness of each offering. We had the calamari (perfectly tender and crispy,) the pasta (Al dente and oh so very savory!) the hummus (the accompanying pita triangles were incredibly crisp and the dish delightful,) and the rosemary truffle fries, which were, again, perfectly crispy, and incredibly flavorful. For entrees, a couple of us had the burger (wonderful, and the bacon jam is a GAME-CHANGER.) the Cajun Alfredo (packs a punch in flavor,) the Honey Truffle Chicken (outstanding.) the Crab Fried rice (I didn't taste it, but the person who ordered it loved it,) and the Kabobs. (Again, I didn't taste them, but the person who ordered the dish said it was excellent.) The cocktails were wonderful, as well. Back to the ambience: it's certainly beautiful, airy, with tall ceilings and abundant natural light from the expansive windows. The furniture is tasteful modern-eclectic and comfortable: something else we all noticed is it was void of any odors - very fresh and clean, which is huge for a hookah bar. Service, like the food, was outstanding. Every single staffer we encountered was gracious, welcoming, and genuinely warm. My friend and I went for Sunday brunch. The TLDR of it is--service is rough, but the food and atmosphere are great. Our first impression was unfortunately negative. Parking in the garage costs $16. It tells you on the way in that you must pay to park within 15 minutes of arrival or else you risk being towed. So I scanned and paid as we were walking in. At the hostess counter, we were informed that they validate, but not retroactively. The hostess goes "well for next time, now you know we cover two hours free." That isn't helpful for me today. Now I just wasted $16 because, despite having signage of how to get to the restaurant, nowhere does it say to wait to scan the code to pay until check in so you can validate. I watched so many parties check in and also get frustrated about learning about validation after the fact. This needs to be communicated with signage. An additional $16 to park is absurd, especially when drinks and food start at $20+. And especially when a simple sign could avoid that for all patrons. The restaurant is gorgeous and the food was so so good. However, the music was overbearingly loud for a brunch. I understand it being that loud as a club, but for a Sunday at 11 am, it did feel like we had to raise our voices to talk. Food and drink wise: My friend and I both got the hot honey chicken biscuits and they were amazing. They're pricey but the portion is big and we both had leftovers so no complaints. Her margarita was great, my espresso martini was not. It was overly strong and had no foam, which means the bartender didn't ensure it was cold enough in the shaker. That was disappointing considering the price tag. I could have gotten the best one in the city at Julep for $5 less. Service wasn't bad but it was definitely off. The hostess stand sat people out of order, so parties that checked in after us sat first and we sat before people who got there ahead of us. Our server was nice but very unsure. It was loud like I mentioned, and he was very mumbly and meek during every interaction. Also, they automatically add gratuity to each check, even though my table size was 2. And I had to ask my server about it because he did not inform us as we were paying. So just watch out for that. Beautiful decor but unfortunately, we never even made it to ordering. The atmosphere was completely different from what was expected from this restaurant based on the online image. The majority of the patrons were extremely loud, disruptive and behaving in a way that made the dining room feel more chaotic than enjoyable. So much so that even a police officer was called to deal with one party's issues with the management. The overall dress and conduct of the clientele also seems surprisingly inappropriate for the type of establishment and more in line with a Good Will strip club. I certainly don't expect a restaurant to control every aspect of its customers' behavior, but there's a point at which the management needs to maintain a reasonable atmosphere for everyone else. And in this case, the management and staff also seem to be part of the problem. I watched the front hostesses being rude, dismissive and uncooperative to numerous guests waiting a long time past their reservation. The noise level and overall environment were so unpleasant that we decided to get up and leave before placing an order. Very disappointing, particularly because we have been looking forward to dining here based on all the marketing on Instagram and online. If you're expecting a relaxed, comfortable or more refined experience, this is not the place. Will not be recommending this place to anyone. read more

We had 1 hour and 30 minutes since it was only two of us. If you have three or more people you will get two hours. And they are strict. They will kick you out lol. Other than that, there is plenty of parking in the parking garage. They do validate your parking, so don't pay like I did before walking into the restaurant. The drinks were really good and strong. I had the French toast sticks and lobster bites. Overall, the food was pretty typical for brunch. No complaints there. They are a little more pricey, but it's worth it. You definitely pay for the ambiance. I would definitely return. I saw that they have lychee martini specials on Thursdays. I visited on a Sunday. So, just like many other restaurants in Houston, this is a gorgeously beautiful space. Great for pictures and videos. But, the food is just decent. We had many of the appetizers for our event at Texas Young Professionals in the private room. And they were...fine. (They were immensely better than the food from Se7en, so that is a step in the right direction!) When we walked in, I noticed that the staff seemed a bit awkward, apprehensive, and hesitant. It was...quite a unique experience. Lol. However, one hostess walked me to the private room and I met my party. Afterwards, I wanted to take pictures and videos so I left the private area in which we were located. The servers in the main area was just standing around talking to each other along the sides of the walls. Candidly, it was a really weirdly uncomfortable atmosphere. Another thing, I took my nieces to the networking event because I had to take them somewhere afterwards, and I really did not like that they had hooka smoke pretty much eeeeeeverywhere along the bar area. I'm giving this a 5 star review strictly off of vibes. The ambience is enough to get you through the door and make you come over and over again. It's almost like a hidden gem that almost everyone already knows about. Me and my son went on a brunch date and had an amazing time. The ladies are gorgeous, the atmosphere is exquisite, and the aroma makes you feel like you're on a mini vacation. The food is cool. lol but this is a place you go to live life. You take your friends here to impress them. This is nothing g but vibes all around. From the moment you get out of the car and step onto the elevator even if you park on the same floor you have to watch those doors open up and step into a new world. Straight vibes. The service is amazing as well. I had the pleasure of being served by an angel with the most beautiful face by the name of Jordyn. And I watched all the views go by as we sat outside on the patio in amusement. Yes, I did eat. lol but like I said the food was definitely overshadowed by the vibes. Came for drinks and hookah and stayed for the vibes! Service was great. What ever drink you get is great. I will say they're supposed to offer you a complimentary glass of sparkling wine when you walk in but the hostess didn't even bother. Shoutout to our server who ensured we got one. We ordered a hookah - Love 66. I feel like i haven't been to a place in Houston that can do love 66 right but confessions did a good job! I didn't get to eat but based off service (server not hostess) alone I'll definitely be back. read more

Make a reservation guys! We walked in and were seated immediately. The staff was nice and the mimosa tree was great. I had lamb chops and they were delicious. The place is very well decorated but can get pretty noisy. Fills up quick so if you didn't reserve get there early. And valet park to avoid the hassle. It was about $15. Definitely recommend. Bathrooms were nice and clean too. Cute brunch spot or date spot. read more

First timer! I enjoyed our time here. Tia, our waitress, was great and prompt. The music was enjoyable. Didn't order any hookah so I cannot speak to that. But the food was amazing. We had the hot honey chicken biscuit which was 3 chicken biscuits. The biscuits were so soft and buttery-the jalapeño set it off! Wasn't too hot to me. The rest of my family ordered the Shrimp+Grits, Lamb Chops+eggs, burger, and the peach cobbler and biscoff waffles which were ALL YUMMY. We also ordered the mimosa tower! Had a very positive experience here at Confessions! Initially, I didn't have high expectations, as the restaurant is still very new and naturally, we expected there to be a few hiccups but the experience exceeded my expectations. The food was tasty, great value for the price of the menu items and service (provided by Jae) was amazing. I would definitely recommend and will be back soon. The only thing on the menu we weren't a fan of were the kabobs; the flavor wasn't good, as they tasted too charred, in addition to a teriyaki flavor that did not mesh well. However, our waiter was very understanding and flexible about this. Great experience. read more
