They looked way better than they taste. Incredibly bland empanadas and tasteless chimichurri sauce.

Wanka Peruvian was first on the block! The food truck guy was friendly, and the food came out in less than 5 minutes. I wanted to order a few dishes from them, but I restrained myself and went with the 1/4 rotisserie chicken with fries. The menu we got said it came with a salad, but there wasn't. In its place was rice. So, rice and fries. Carb on carb. Lol. Rotisserie chicken: Very tender. You can taste the rosemary seasoning on the skin. Otherwise, if you're just eating the meat, there's no flavor. I made my own dipping sauce with Hellman's mayo and spicy ketchup from Whataburger. Rice: I guess the rice made up for the lack of salt or flavor in the chicken meat because it was salted nicely and cooked to perfection. Hard to tell if this was a long grain or basmati rice. I enjoyed it with the chicken. Fries: The fries were cut steak style and sprinkled with salt and coarse black pepper. The taste was AMAZING. When I first took a bite, I thought it was cooked in peanut oil, or maybe it was cooked with the yucca fries cause it had the same flavor. The portions were small for the price. I'm used to food trucks giving bigger portions. If they adjust their portions and seasoning the chicken (not just the skin), they have the potential to be a great food truck. I wanna try their lomo saltado and yucca fries next time. Check out their IG at wanka_peru!

This guy is awesome, amazing food, great personality. I highly recommend this food truck!read more

The empanada sampler that I had was amazing I had Italian, mushroom, spinach and spicy chopped beef; they were each beautiful in their own right. The chimichurri is authentic perfection. I look forward to providing a follow up review when I bring my girlfriend here for dinner.

We didn't get to try a lot of items on their menu so my impression is limited to what we ordered. For appetizers, we had a variety of empanadas (spicy ground beef, chicken chipotle, italian, fugazetta). All are very tasty and probably one of the best items they have. The chimichurri that comes with them is a stand-out. We had the platter of mixed meats (parrillada che gaucho) that included 3 kinds of sausages, chicken breast, sweetbread, short rib, flank and skirt steaks. The sausages were good, the chicken was standard grilled chicken breast and the beef cuts were pretty tough (our knives had a really hard time cutting through them). Again, the chimichurri is the star and makes the meats much better. It came with 2 sides so we chose asparagus and fries tossed in garlic+parsley. For dessert, we had an apple maple empanada and a banana dulce de leche empanada with ice cream. Both are delicious but that banana one is a must-try. Fabulous.

There was quite a number of four top tables that were open however, our server we saw her to take our water and took a couple of appetizers and then we didn't see her (except one time to check on us while we were eating). We ended up placing our dinner order with the manager, who came to our table b/c she want to bring out our appetizer, street corn, which they offered at no cost since it was our first time eating there. The street corn was delicious! The food came out freshly prepared, and tasted delicious, except my wife's enchiladas didn't get prepared until we talked to the same manager. At this point the rest of the family was done eating their meals. They quickly corrected that , I the enchiladas out within 4-6 minutes. They were very apologetic and were kind enough to comp that entrée. The manager who was there on Thursday night was extremely helpful. However, since service is based on this server still gave her an 18% tip because that's how she earns a living, but I think she was just spread too thin with large parties. I'll change this to a first review if I go back and I get better service there's good odds I'll go back but I definitely will warn people that it takes long. I think by the time we sat down and left it was about an hour and almost 30 minutes and that was mainly due to lack of service. We're waiting for about 10 minutes just to get the check.
